Daniel Holtz didn't pretend to always understand God's will. And why the almighty would choose Buffy Summers as the next slayer wa quite beyond Holtz. He couldn't judge her, he couldn't kill his daughter when she was turned. And while Holtz murdered Rivalli centuries ago, he now believed he'd been right. Now Dracula and other very poweful vampires were coming to Sunnydale, even throwing a party. This ball wasn't about getting people to like them. It was a show of power, showing they had no fear. Holtz had understood Rondell's logic about needing a new slayer, but he'd feared the next slayer could be even wore than Faith. He, Justine, and those who'd voted against killing Faith would not go against Buffy now. Rondell had held them hostage, which was probably why Wilkins hadn't killed or arrested them. Those who'd tried to murder Faith would likely be killed soon. The president probably had agents in prison. But what remained of Holtz' team would go against the Concillium Mortuum. With this weapon they would kill those vampires and take their piece of the Chalice.
