Chapter 456
It was a time of great turmoil in Pylea. While Barshon and the Groosalag were negotiating an official agreement others were fighting. Rebels began confiscating land from the nobles, often violently. The halls of drink and chance were vandalized by those still loyal to the Covenant. It was clear that a new government would soon emerge, the question became what type of government? Nobles loyal to the Covenant fought each other for a place in the new government. Rebel factions working together during the revolution began fighting each other. Neither side had been as united as they wanted the world to think. Barshon and Groosalag knew that Pylea needed stability. Whatever deal was reached the factions had to be kept in line. This would likely require what was known in Pylea as "Gold or ax." This mean that they would negotiate and bribe the factions that they could reason with. Those that refused to cooperate, would be dealt with harshly, if not completely exterminated.
