A complete overhaul of my unfinished work A Child of Durin. Brili, the younger sister of Fili and Kili, is separated from her family years before Thorin's plans to retake Erebor could come to fruition. What will happen once they are reunited and how will her presence alter the fate of the Company?

Thorin underestimates, overestimates and makes many mistakes along the way. Luckily the new arrival is there to save the day and keep him out of harms way at every turn. Thorin has met his match with the woman who makes him want to hold her but also sets his teeth on edge at the same time. Just who is the woman Thorin finds himself unable to keep himself away from? (My second idea)

an AU of the hobbit books and movies; Daeron, a half-elven, half-Dúnedain ranger who happened to be the adopted child of Lord Elrond, had returned from the wild, seeking some overdue rest. However, little did he know that when Gandalf, a company of dwarves, and a hobbit arrived in Rivendell, his world would change forever.

Thorin thought he would be meeting a Hobbit to take on the quest! But it wasn’t a Hobbit that surprised the Dwarf King, but the daughter of his friends’ Amad and Adad. And she IS NOT happy to see him! It would seem the Dwarf King has met his match in the woman who sets his teeth on edge and desires to hold her at the same time! (My first version. Weeks after the Battle of Five Armies, on the way back to the Shire with Bilbo in tow, Gandalf discovers Smaug survived the black arrow. Seeing an opportunity, Gandalf offers the dragon a deal that Smaug, on the brink of death, reluctantly agrees to. And so the wizard binds Smaug to a mortal using an ancient spell. Now, the dragon's very life is at the whims of his new 'partner'.

I've done this to Harry Potter, I've done this to Twilight, time to give Tolkien the same treatment.

It was unusual circumstance that I suddenly found myself amidst the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. They didn't trust me at first. I was a human after all, and a woman besides, with few useful skills to offer. Yet I could not deny the benefits of their protection as I journeyed home to Esgaroth and so strove to remain in their favour...I never expected to fall in love along the way.

A few months after the Battle of the Five Armies, Bard, now ruler of Dale, goes to Greenwood the Great for an official visit supposed to ratify the bond of peace which unites the kingdom of Men to that of the Elves. King Thranduil is very nervous about seeing Bard again and he drinks too much. Way too much.
