After the light cleared the Doctor slowly stood peering over the discarded articles of clothing and burnt remains from the family. He exhaled with relief, it was over. It was finally over.

The Doctor had tricked the family into opening the watch with his human essence inside. He had already turned himself back but used a different perception filter to fool them.

He grabbed the empty watch and walked back to the school. If he was right everyone should be asleep thanks to the hypnotizing white light. He saw no sense in those people particularly children seeing the carnage.

He walked inside and everyone was lying there fast asleep. He looked down at Tim and smiled. He was going to miss him.

The Doctor placed the empty fob watch in his hand as a goodbye present. He started walking around carefully stepping over sleeping students and teachers then spotted Clara lying on the floor asleep. He knelt beside her and smiled slightly as he brushed aside a loose strand of her chestnut hair from her face. He swallowed thinking how much he was going to miss her. He sighed then swept Clara up in his arms and carried her to her room.

He found Martha and gently woke her up. She sat up slowly groaning.

"What happened?" She glanced up relieved to see the Doctor. "Doctor, you're alright!"

He scoffed straightening his tie. "Of course I am."

"What happened to the family?" Martha asked.

He shrugged helping her stand. "Their time was up."

Martha looked around at the sleeping children and staff. "What about them?"

"They'll be fine," He replied. "They'll wake up thinking it was all a dream."

"What about Clara?" Martha asked.

He sighed. "It's best I just go."

She scoffed. "With no goodbye?"

"It's what she wanted." The Doctor replied avoiding her gaze.

Martha disagreed but didn't press and they walked back to the TARDIS.

Clara slowly started waking up.

"Blimey, what happened?" She muttered propping herself up then pieces of what happened came to her as she sat up. She frowned, the last thing she remembered was pushing something on a silver thing and…the Doctor…

"Oh, god, where is he?" She panicked.

Clara hopped out of bed and dashed to the window. She saw him walking away.

She immediately ran after him not bothering to put her shoes on. Not caring that she was stepping on twigs and wet grass.

"Doctor!" Clara shouted.

The Doctor paused and looked at her. "Clara?"

She stopped catching her breath. "Where are you going?"

He shrugged. "The family's been stopped. It's time to go."

Her heart dropped.

Clara looked at him. "So that's it? You're just leaving? No goodbye."

The Doctor lowered his gaze. "It's what you wanted."

She gave a small shrug. "Humans can be wrong, yeah?"

He slowly looked at her. "Oh?"

She nodded coming closer.

Clara sighed. "I was wrong to yell at you like that," She said softly. "I was just upset." She glanced at him. "The truth is I still love you. I guess I was scared that if you returned to alien that you'd stop loving me."

The Doctor shook his head. He smiled softly. "Oh, Clara that'll never happen."

Clara looked at him. "I know, I realized it when you changed. I felt your heartbeats."

He gently brushed aside a loose strand of her hair. "And they'll always be for you." The Doctor said.

Clara could feel the tears pricking in her eyes. She hugged him pressing her cheek against his suit.

"You scared me last night. I was so frightened I would lose you." Clara admitted.

He embraced her back. "Ah, it'll take more than a family of green gaseous objects to get rid of me." The Doctor scoffed.

She smiled and glanced back at the school.

Clara sighed. "I have to make sure everyone is alright. Parents will have questions."

He looked at her. "Are you going to keep working there?"

She shook her head. "Nah, I see better things for me, now," Clara smiled at him. "Thanks to you."

He grinned.

Clara shrugged. "Who knows maybe I'll have an adventure."

He nodded. "I'm sure you will."

She looked at him. "Come back to me?"

The Doctor smiled. "Always," He sighed. "Might not have this face, though."

Clara grinned. "Doesn't matter, I fell in love with the person. Not the face."

He smiled at her and bent down kissing her tenderly. She kissed him back holding him tight as if making him a promise.

The Doctor slowly pulled back. "I love you." He said.

"I love you, too," Clara smiled. "Now run you clever boy." She grinned.

The Doctor smiled kissing her once more before going inside.

Clara watched the TARDIS disappear but she wasn't sad. Not in the slightest.

She see him again and when she did just watch them run!
