Chapter 464
As Buffy and Dracula saw the kids dancing they decided to follow their example. Dracula offerred Buffy a dance, and she accepted. Buffy couldn't deny that this was exciting. Physical attraction, danger, the urge to fight, all lumped together in a single dance. This new world could be exciting. During this dance Buffy saw Angel and Darla dancing. They could've been a good couple once. Darla was born more than a century before Angel, so they couldn't have been human together. Under different circumstances they could've been good. For a brief moment this whole thing almost seemed like a family. Perhaps Buffy would have to get used to this, now that she was a slayer. She had restrained herself before, but now decided to have a little fun. Buffy danced with Angel, then Spike, even one dance with Darla. Although Dracula said nothing he kept his attention focused on Buffy. The look in his eyes was both lust for a beautiful young woman, and a hunter stalking his prey. Maybe for vampires there was little difference between these two things. Finally Buffy decided to talk with Dracula in private. If his jealousy were going to cause him to attack Buffy she wanted to know now.
.
Buffy: Here are my terms. You and your friends have all that animal blood, that is what you'll live on. No killing humans. We all work together against the Master. That means you give me your piece of the Chalice, anything you know you tell, and your army fights alongside mine. You give animal blood to my sister, and my friends and any other vampire in town who obeys these friends.
Dracula: And after the Master is defeated?
Buffy: Then you and any vampire can stay, so long as you don't kill innocents.
Dracula: What about human murderers?
Buffy: I'll be honest, there are humans far more evil than any vampire. You want to be like Dexter, I'll make an occassional exception. But you need my permission. Any vampire killn an innocent, I will kill them.
Dracula: Faith will not like this.
Buffy: You keep your friends under control, I'll handle Faith. She's not the one in charge anymore, I am.
