Chapter 471
Buffy and Faith found each other on Sunday afternoon. Neither cared much for their suppossed truce anymore. Faith considered Buffy a traitor, consorting with the vampires who murdered Anne. Buffy knew that Faith had tried to kill Dawn, for her that was unforgivable. They fought, it was long and brutal. Perhaps it was inevitable. Two slayers, they weren't suppossed to exist at the same time. Neither slayer drew her stake, perhaps waiting for the other to draw first. This fight gave them the chance to unleash their frustrations. For Buffy, they'd been building up for months, for Faith it had been years. Buffy knocked Faith down. A part of her wanted to just finish her off now. Make sure Faith could never again harm Dawn. Faith knew she'd lost this fight. Following her instincts, she kissed Buffy. Buffy became confused. Despite their fight, she enjoyed the kiss. Maybe because of the fight. Buffy began to wonder how different vampires and slayers really were. Both killed, vampires for their survival, slayers for the survival of others. It was a thin line between love and hate for the descendants of Aurelius and Sinea. Buffy wasn't sure she wanted any part of that type of "love." For now at least, she let Faith go.
