Chapter 481
The week after the vampire ball was diffucult for Buffy. Dawn was back home, Buffy had trouble sleeping. It wasn't easy, never knowing when Dawn might attack Buffy in her sleep. Knowing Dawn had the same fear about Buffy. Then Buffy went to school, trying to avoid principal Wood. He hadn't expelled her, but they tried to avoid each other. Wood tried to murder Dawn, Buffy held Wood hostage. Whenever they saw each other each went the other way. Those few seconds seeing each other were hard for both of them. Buffy got updates from Giles about the current crises, although in the back of her mind Buffy knew this team might go after Dawn one day. Angel had stolen the Codex, that was progress. And they now knew about Glory and the Master working together. But with the Concillium Mortuum destroyed Dracula fled with his piece of the Chalice. Adam's murder and zombification of Forrest created a serious rift in that alliance. And Giles had found other recent signs. A cat giving birth to a liter of snakes. A child born with its eyes facing inward. Another child born with two heads, one that would speak only i riddles, the other head was a goat's head. These might've seemed like tabloid garbage, except for something else. On Friday May 10th it rained in Sunnydale. But this wasn't snow or water. It was pebbles. For a few minutes, it was raining tiny rocks. Giles knew it was a sign, of something coming. Although they feared the answer, they needed to know what this meant.
