A/N So I watched the Notebook for the first time ever last night and I totally loved it! And when I got to the scene where Allie is all "I'm a bird!" and weird stuff and Noah to humour her says "If you're a bird, then I'm a bird" I suddenly got a weird version of the scene with NaLu and well here it is.
Natsu and I were training in a field just outside Magnolia. At least, I was trying to train I wasn't really sure what Natsu was doing. He had concentrated a lot of his flame powers around his feet and was jumping up and down. His jumps were impressive I'll give him that but he wasn't really accomplishing anything other than burning the grass where he was jumping.
"Natsu, what on Earthland are you doing?" I demanded sending Loke back so I could deal with my childish partner.
Natsu stopped jumping and looked at me with his classic grin. "I'm trying to fly" he said happily.
I face palmed.
"Natsu," I said calmly. "You can't fly, if you want to fly you have Happy to help you out."
"But Happy isn't here right now and besides I'm a dragon so I should be able to fly."
I sweat dropped as I watched Natsu continue jumping burning the poor grass at his feet. "You know you're not actually a dragon, just a dragon-slayer" I said trying to explain.
"Well as a dragon slayer I get all the properties of a dragon, therefore if I try hard enough I should be able to fly."
I sighed as I sat down and watched him jump. "I don't think it works that way," I told him as he kept jumping "You look pretty human to me,"
Natsu stopped jumping and looked at me, his head tilting to the side. "But I'm a dragon."
I chuckled slightly at his quizzical look. "Dragon-slayer" I said defiantly.
He growled a little and got into a charging stance. "Say I'm a dragon," he said, voice low almost warningly.
I shook my head in defiance.
Then he ran at me, tackling me to the ground where we rolled in the field until he managed to pin me down. I was stuck underneath him, feeling his heat surround me. He was smiling playfully now.
"Say I'm a dragon."
I laughed, "Alright, alright, you're a dragon." He smiled and nipped my ear. I blushed.
"And don't you forget it. But Lucy, if I'm a dragon, what are you?"
"If you're a dragon, then I'm a dragon." I said looking into his deep onyx eyes.
He smiled, resting his forehead against mine. "I like that answer."
