Chapter 498
When Buffy returned home early Saturday morning she pretended not to notice principal Wood sneak out the back door. Buffy had tried to ignore her mother and the principal at the game before realizing they were being drugged. She didn't want to know about what they did, nor did she want to tell her mother that she could've slept with five people, possibly more. Then Buffy heard something from the basement. This was Dawn's room now, away from the sun. They were even building a door from the basement to the sewar. Buffy feared what this sound might be, someone hurting Dawn, Dawn hurting someone else. Buffy kicked the door open. She and Joyce saw Dawn, in bed with Conner. This was very awkward, for all of them.

Joyce: Oh God.
Buffy: It's not entirely their fault. I think someone drugged the water.
Conner: What water?
Buffy: At the game last night.
Dawn: We weren't at the game. I have a problem with the sun these days.
Buffy: Wait, so you two?
Dawn: Yeah, we're back together. What did the water make you do?
Joyce: None of your business. So we had no choice last night Buffy?
Buffy: Right. Probably best I don't remember much.
Joyce: Agreed.
Buffy: They don't have that excuse however.
Conner: Sorry. I didn't want you to find out this way.
Joyce: There really is o good way to learn this. So, anyone want breakfast?
