Buffy considered her options. She could stop the Master once and for all. But to do this, she would have to ask many others to risk their lives. If she didn't ask for their help, she'd be risking all life in a fist-fight with this vampire king. Even then, how many lives needed to be sacrificed? What if they didn't reach that number? The other option might be to simply leave Sunnydale. The Master needed blood from the one and only slayer. Leaving Sunnydale deprived the Master of what he needed. Buffy knew this option was self-serving, she wanted to save herself, her mother, and her sister. If the Brethen cold only do this at a specific time, getting them to miss their mark made a lot of sense. This didn't neccessarily mean they would stop trying. Maybe in a century or two, they'd find another opportunity. Buffy made her choice. On Wednesday May 21st Buffy, Dawn, and Joyce Summers packed their clothes and money, put fresh animal blood in the portable cooler, and fled Sunnydale.
