Adam helped Ben in the hospital. Adam could diagnose patients and tell how to save them, if it was possible. Adam understood the neccessity of having a medical sanctuary for their side. He did not understand wasting medical resources an sick and elderly patients who weren't directly involved in the fight, couldn't contribute much, and likely couldn't be saved anyway. Adam would rather finish watching Willow's "Lost" DVDs than help people without reward. To Adam, good and evil were subjective concepts. This war seemed less about good versus evil, more about rational science versus irrational superstition. The Master was a fanatic, dedicated to ending all life. Adam didn't mind working with his enemies to defeat him. But this coalition would likely fall apart later. Adam heard screaming in the hospital. He went to investigate. Adam found a strange creature killing the patients. He fought and killed this thing, but not in time to save the patients. Dr Backer and Chris Epps were also killed. Ben knew this creature, the Quellar demon. Someone had summonned this Quellar to kill the sick civilians. The Master seemed the most likely suspect. The question was, why bother? And if not him, then who?
