As Blu fought with the dark, insane voice that caused her so much pain, her ears managed to pick up other voices. Not inside of her head, but they seemed very far away.
?: What's wrong with her!?
?: She won't wake up!
?:*sniff* I-Is she d-dead...
?: Shhhh... No...no Ashes, she's not dead, it's okay..
?: ugh.. I should have noticed she was gone!
?: Calm down Sonic! Nobody knew she was gone. It's not your fault.
Ashes, Sonic? I know I've heard those names before..
?:
Hey, she's waking up..
Blu opened her eyes a little, her vision was still very blurry. She couldn't even describe how much pain she was in. Everything hurt. She looked at the 5 blurs before her. Two small, grey and black ones, and three others that were lime green, dark green and sapphire blue. Her eyes focused a bit more and she noticed a blue hedgehog sitting beside her.
Blu: S-Sonic...
Sonic: Hey Blu, you're going to be okay alright..
Forest: Or else your brother might go berserk..
Fern: You would be just as worried as him if I was in Blu's place!
Forest: *Runs fingers through her fur* Yes, yes I would..
Flame: ewww... gross...
Fern: *laughs* You never know Flame, one day you might be in love...
Flame: And when that day comes, will someone please shoot me?
Shadow;*from other room* I will!
Flame: *confused* Was he just listening to our conversation?
Ashes: Who cares.. Sonic, will Blu be okay!?
Sonic:*sees ring* er.. y-yeah... Ashes, could you and your brother step out of the room for a minute..
Ashes and Flame: Okay..
After both kids were out of the room, Sonic closed the door and locked it so they couldn't walk back in.
Forest: Sonic!? What's wrong?
Sonic:*points to ring* That...
Fern*gasps* That's not...
Sonic:*nods* It is... Scourge must have dragged her away and somehow got that on her finger during the battle.
Blu: He... Took...crystal...
Forest: He took your crystal off? Sonic, can't we just take off the ring?
Sonic: No, Since Blu's crystal was off, the ring is now connected to it. If we pull the ring off, we take the crystal's power with it. Which means Blu's life as well.
Just then, the ring glowed black and waves of black energy surrounded Blu, and tightened around her.
Blu: nauguh! *screams in pain*
Fern: What's happening!?
Sonic: Toxic's trying to take over! C'mon Blu, fight it!
Blu: nuagh! So...much...pain..
The black energy disappeared and Blu was lying on the floor, she struggled to get up. Sonic rushed over and helped her. Realization seemed to hit her like a shovel.
Blu: Sonic... I'm... too...weak... I... can't...stop...her...
Sonic: Don't say that. You'll get your strength back in no time.
Blu: Sonic...please... promise...me...
Sonic: Promise you what?
Blu: If... she... takes...over... I... want... you... to... kill...me..
Sonic: B-Blu, I could never..
Blu: Please... promise...me..
Sonic: Okay, I promise...
Blu: Thank...you... brother...
