Me: Sorry for taking so long to update!

Shadow: WHY THE HELL DID YOU SUDDENLY MAKE ME INTO A JERK?!

Me:*shrugs* C'mon, I think you kind of saw that I was going to create some part with you saying that your past was worse than Sonic's...

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

Days past, Blu only got even worse, and now Toxic was closer than ever to rising. Blu's eyes had even changed from green, to red, just like Toxic's. He quills had gotten much sharper and they now pierced the mattress where she laid. Sometimes Toxic managed to take over her but only for short moments. But sadly, Toxic had been taking over more and more within the past 3 days. It was night now and Blu heard Toxic whisper in her head. " Soon... I shall be free... and all of your friends will fall before me!" " No... I won't let you!" " And what can you do?! You can barley stand!" " I know, but I will not kill my friends..." Blu carefully got up and opened the window. A wave of dizziness washed over her. She took a minute for the world to stop spinning. She then jumped out the window and ran away, but not before "accidentally" dropping a note. She didn't know where she was going, and she didn't care. If she got lost and Toxic took over, they would both die, and that's what she was planning on. She ran for she had no idea had long, but finally her head started pounding again, her vision got blurry. She stopped running and passed out. Unknown to her, a green hedgehog was near by..

Ashes: BLU'S GONE!

Her terrified voice echoed throughout the house and outside, where a couple of the freedom fighters were sleeping. Hearing this made almost everyone rush into the room. Ashes was crying her heart out and Flame was both crying and comforting her the best he could. Everyone else who was in the room during Ashes discovery, were either crying as well, or looking at the ground sadly. Sonic pushed to the front. He kneeled down and hugged both of them and they cried into his shoulders. He then noticed a white sheet of paper. He picked it up. His gasp caught the attention of those who were very confused about what the others were sad about.

Fern: What is it?

Sonic: I-It's from Blu..

Forest: What does it say?

Sonic: I'm sorry all of you, I had no choice. Toxic has been getting stronger and I know it won't be long until she takes over. Please, don't look for me. I don't want any of you getting hurt. Ashes and Flame, you guys were always like a little brother and sister to me. And Sonic..

He broke off when he saw the rest. He threw the letter on the ground and ran off. Knuckles picked it up and continued to read.

Knuckles: Sonic, you were always like a brother to me, you gave me hope. I'm proud of all the fights were we fought together, and all the battles we have been through. I can't thank you enough, I finally got a chance to live. And even though it was for a short time, you will always be in my heart. I'm afraid that I'm as good as dead out here, and by the time you read this note, I'll be gone forever. Thank you, thank you all. Love, Blu.

The room was silent, minus the soft sobs that escaped from about half of the fighters, as well as Cream, who had just gotten used to having Blu as a friend. After hours had past, and everyone was somewhat confronted by their closest friends and loved ones, the freedom fighters got their act together and did what they believed was the best. Almost all of them returned to their homes and were going to bring the sad news with them to the others. The only ones that stayed were Fern, Flame, Ashes, Forest, and of course, Sonic. Beam had to return to the spirit world and was hoping to re encounter one of her best friends. Flame and Ashes, who had finally lost all of their tears, sat in a corner and stared at a wall with glazed eyes, not registering anything except the fact that their sister was possibly gone forever. Evryone's mood was grey, until after 1 day, Sonic finally returned. His usually glowing emerald eyes were dull and his mouth seemed to be stuck in a permanent frown. He had the same glazed look as Flame and Ashes and didn't seem to acknowledge anyone who even tried to talk to him or comfort him. When Amy asked him where he had been, he looked at her with the saddest look she had ever seen and spoke in a quiet, dull voice.

Sonic: I...couldn't...find...her

And with that, he went up to his almost permanent spot on the roof. The others observed his sluggish and slow actions with pity, of course all except Shadow who just scoffed.

Amy: Poor Sonic...

Blaze: *shakes head sadly* The only sister he had ever had..

Knuckles: Now gone...

Sonic walked up to them and stood beside his friends. His now usual saddened frown at it's full extent. Shadow just rose and eyebrow at this before rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.

Shadow: hmp... now you should know how I feel like sometimes...

Sonic looked at him with a very frightening and unusual murderous look. His ears fell back against his skull and a low growl rose in his throat. Fern, and Forest instantly grabbed onto his arms, preventing him from lunging at Shadow and slashing his throat open. Blaze and Cream decided to hold him back as well. Rouge seemed also furious and slapped Shadow across his face, making it turn red and making him howl in pain. Amy also seemed furious. Flame and Ashes were both grinning evilly knowing what happened when Sonic got extremely angry They knew that Shadow would be taken care of, and Tails and Knuckles were too shocked by Sonic's look to even do anything.

Amy:*pulls out hammer* YOU JERK! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PAIN HE HAS BEEN THROUGH!?

Shadow: DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH PAIN I HAVE BEEN THROUGH!? I'M SICK AND TIRED OF EVERYONE GIVING HIM SO MUCH DAMN PITY WHEN I'VE BEEN THROUGH SOMETHING SIMILAR AND THEN AM TOLD TO JUST 'Cheer up'!

Sonic: *growls* At least you got amnesia. And at least Maria never left you a note or something saying how much you were apart of her life and how sorry she was for doing what she did! And then you always act like you're so hurt all the time. I think I actually deserve a bit of pity considering what I've been through! I remember everything, EVERYTHING!
Shadow: Then why are you so damn happy all the time? Seriously, become more mature and grow up.

Sonic: *struggles to break free* Grow up? GROW UP!? I NEVER GOT TO HAVE A "happy" CHILDHOOD, AND IT SEEMS LIKE I NEVER HAD ONE AT ALL! UNLIKE YOU, I USUALLY DON'T LET THE PAST COME BACK TO HAUNT ME! SO WHAT, YOUR FRIEND DIED! YOU KNOW HOW MANY DEATHS I'VE HAD TO SEE!

Shadow: MARIA WASN'T JUST MY FRIEND! SHE WAS LIKE A SISTER!

Sonic, Flame and Ashes: SO WAS BLU!

Shadow: *gets extremely angry* REMIND ME AGAIN WHY SHE BOTHERED TO STAY WITH YOU!? WHO WOULD WANT TO HANG OUT WITH A BLUE FREAK! ( A/N I don't know why Shadow would say that but just go with it, okay?)

Realizing what he had just said he shut his mouth. Sonic was now so angry words couldn't describe it. His fur switched to black and his eyes became red. Fern and Forest had let go, they were with Sonic on this one. Shadow had called him the worst thing you could ever possibly call him. He deserved what he got. Cream, Blaze, Tails, Silver, Amy and Rouge ran and hid. Knuckles soon followed. Shadow was alone on this one. His face paled when he realized no one was holding Sonic back. He paled even more when Sonic slowly walked up to him, and spoke with a cold, evil voice full of hatred.

Sonic: I'll give you 5 seconds to run..

Shadow: I-

Sonic: 5, 4..

Realizing he was serious, Shadow turned around and ran for his life. Chaos control wouldn't help him, he knew Sonic would be able to find him. Sonic soon appeared in front of him, eyes completely white. He punched Shadow in the gut and sent him flying. Sonic then appeared behind him.

Sonic: HA! I could do this all day!

He continued by throwing multiple powerful blasts and then grabbed Shadow by his neck.

Sonic: I could kill you right now... *turns back to normal* But, Lucky for you, I can control my anger.

He dropped Shadow onto the ground. Shadow only had a couple of bruises but nothing serious. He rubbed his sore neck and looked up at Sonic. The hedgehog shot him a glare that let him know that he was still quite angry with him. They returned to the clearing and it seems that everyone else was ticked off with him as well. He guessed the only reason that they weren't attacking him as well was because he had already had a dark Sonic go after him. He then noticed Sonic going into the forest.

Shadow: And where are you going?

Sonic just ignored him and ran off.

Scourge sat beside a sapphire blue hedgehog, waiting. Suddenly, the ring began to glow and black smoke appeared. It engulfed the hedgehog's body. When it disappeared, a dark blue hedgehog with a long black dress and blood red eyes stood before him. A black jeweled crown rested upon her head. He bowed and kissed her hand.

Scourge: Queen Toxic, you live once again.

Toxic: *evil smile* Yes, thank you Scourge, unlike your failure of a brother, you have succeeded. As a reward, you shall rule with me as King.

She snapped her fingers and black smoke covered Scourge. When it vanished, Scourge had a black crown like her own, a pitch black sword, and a cape to match. He smiled evilly, dark thoughts flooding his head.

Scourge: Well, my queen, shall we go murder all innocence?

Toxic: *smirks* We shall...

Me: So, I don't think that I've cleared this up yet: The Dark Sonic in this story, has absolutely nothing to do with Sonic's dark side in my other story, so if you're following that one as well, both stories are in no way connected.

Again, sorry for making Shadow such a jerk in this chapter, I just figured that there should be a little bit of conflict between the two. One more chapter to go! I'm going to make both a dark and a light ending so whatever your prefer you can read. Or read them both ;3
