Chapter 536
Faith heard that Hollywood was already making a movie about the vampire slayers, although they were changing her name to "Joan." Faith could imagine the Doublemeat palace giving little slayer toys with kids meals, or vidoes on youtube about her team. Faith wished this whole thing was a movie, then there would be some guarantee of the good guys winning. She'd put this off long enough, but the final battle was tomorrow, it had to be done tonight. Faith assembled all her allies in Sunnydale, Jenny, Wesley, Xander, Willow, Tara, Oz, Veruca, Jessie, many others. She told them about this Chalice, what it meant, the risk to all of them. It had to be their choice to give their blood, risking certain death. When Faith asked for volunteers Buffy stepped forward. Everyone was suprised to see Buffy here, given that she'd skipped town.

Faith: What are you doing here?
Buffy: I'm here to fight the Master.
Faith: You want to help, prick your finger with the Chalice. Help give me the energy to fight him.
Buffy: The prophecy says it has to be the slayer. For better or worse that's me.
Faith: You abandoned the fight.
Buffy: Says the slayer who switched sides.
Faith: I made mistakes, but I'm here now. Willing to risk my life to save the world.
Buffy: So am I. We could spend weeks remembering how much each of us has screwed up. Or we can put that aside and work together to save the world. For some reason I was chosen to be the slayer. Maybe someone up there sees something that I don't. I hope so. This needs to be done by the slayer. So, will you help me?

Faith was unsure, but maybe the current slayer had to battle the Master. Despite the animosity between the slayers, Faith knew more was on the line. Faith pricked her finger and gave her blood to the Chalice. They all needed to do their part, even if Buffy got the credit.
