Clove POV:

I get up after I make sure that Cato is holding the cloth to his wound. I look up to see Cashmere right in front of me.

"Stand up!" she orders.

"No," I refuse, using my body to protect Cato's.

"I said, get up," she says, yanking my ponytail so I stand up. She pulled my hair hard enough that I felt blood running down my forehead. I stand up defiantly, making sure that she knows that I'm not scared of her. This gets her mad, she pulls a knife out of her shoe and is about to slash me with it when Finnick speaks up.

"Stop! Don't do it, or I'll kill you," he yells, trident at a throwing stance. She turns quickly to him, lowering the knife. This is my chance, I punch her in her chin, hard. I throw another punch to her face, but she turns around and catches my fist, squeezing the bones so hard that it seems like they're about to break. I whimper in pain, and I look over at my allies. They're all tense and are ready to charge, but they're scared that Cashmere will hurt me if they do. And if she does hurt me, Cato will personally kill them all.

"You really think that you could knock me out?" she asks, twisting my hand backwards until my elbow is facing towards the sky. She smirks, and brings her elbow down on my overturned one. I scream in pain as I hear a bone break, I look at the skin opposite to where she hit and I see a little of my bone peaking out. Blood is flowing through my arm, and tears are running down my face from pain. She then turns me around so I'm facing my allies, and puts a knife to my throat.

"Try to kill me, and I'll kill her," she says, making eye contact with every single one of my allies.

"Help Cato!" I scream through my pain. They all run over to him at once, grabbing him and pulling him towards them safely. I watch as they put pressure to the wound and look up to the sky, waiting for a generous sponsor. I hear a familiar beeping and I know that Cato's bandages are here.

"Did you kill my brother?" she asks me.

"Yes, and I'm glad I did," I spit out. That gets her mad. I watch as the knife raises, about to slash my throat. More tears are spilling out of my eyes, some from pain and some for Cato and our unborn child. This child will never be able to live because of these terrible games. And Cato, my poor Cato. He will wake up and see my face in the sky tonight. Mad tears run down my face, this is the damn Capital's fault. I swear, if I make it out alive with Cato and our child, I will destroy the Capital. The knife is about to come down when we hear screaming. Cashmere and I turn towards the sound and see Wiress running towards us, with a knife in her hand. Before I know it, I'm out of Cashmere's grip and they're on the ground fighting. They both slash at each other, trying to get the upper hand. I back up and almost fall, but Finnick catches me.

"Thanks," I say, turning away and looking for one of my knifes. When I'm searching I hear small screams of pain. I finally find what I'm looking for and run over to Wiress's aid. It looks like Cashmere has the upper hand, she's sitting on top of Wiress about to stab her heart, when I sneak up and stab her in the neck. I let go of the hilt when I see blood pouring out of the new wound. Cashmere tenses up, but then falls like dead weight onto Wiress. She pushes her off of her and I remove my knife, hearing a cannon sound. Wiress is covered in blood, but I can't tell if it's from Cashmere or from the cuts that she gave her.

"Where does it hurt?" I ask her frantically, trying to find where she cut her. Wiress just raised both of her wrists. I gasp as I look at both of her slashed wrists. She moans and uses one hand to point to her stomach, which is also oozing with blood.

"Some help here!" I yell. Beetee and Haymitch come running to my side to help me.

"Shit," I hear Haymitch mutter under his breath.

"Where is she hurt?" Beetee asks.

"Both of her wrists are slashed and her stomach was stabbed," I say. Beetee just shakes his head, holding her hand. "Is that all your going to do? Hold her hand?" I ask him.

"She's dying, and you can't fix slashed wrists," he says sadly.

"Thank you Wiress," I say to her, rubbing some blood off her face. She's gasping and these will be her final breaths. A cannon fires and Beetee's sobs fill the empty air. Then Cato comes to my mind. I turn over and run to my fiance, who's laying there.

"Did you get the medicine?" I ask Finnick. He just nods.

"What happened?" Johanna asks, pointing to my elbow. I guess all of the excitement took the pain away for a moment. The pain comes rushing back like a huge tidal wave, washing over me and engulfing me.

"We need to get that fixed up, she's loosing blood," Finnick says to Johanna. Johanna just nods and runs into the woods, probably to get some moss.

"This is going to hurt, but just look at me, okay?" Finnick asks, I nod, biting my lip. He takes my arm gently and starts to push the bone back into place. I try not to scream, but it hurts too much. I scream in agony as Finnick is putting the bone back into place. Black is dotting my vision as the pain gets worse and worse.

"Look at me!" Finnick commands. I just shake my head and let tears of pain fall.

"Clove?" I hear a familiar voice. "Clove!" I turn my head slightly to see Cato. I glance at his once wounded shoulder, which is now fixed. "What's happening?"

"Cashmere broke her elbow and Finn is putting it back in place," I hear Johanna explain. Black is clouding my vision now and I scream again. I feel a familiar hand take mine, and then I drift into unconsciousness.

"Clove, Clove, Clove," I hear a voice. I open up one eye and immediately close it because it's not used to the brightness. I try to open up one eye, and then the other. I see Cato hovering over me.

"What happened?" I ask him. I look over at my elbow which is now wrapped in fancy Capital gauze.

"Clove I was so worried. You passed out, and then a sponsor's gift came, and then I thought you wouldn't wake up," he says.

"It's okay, I'm okay," I say, leaning up and kissing him. I tentatively move my arm, it hurts, but is manageable.

"Let's get off this bloody island," Haymitch says, getting up. We follow him to the sand. We all sit down and I sit between Cato's legs, using his back as a chair. I sigh is comfort as I eat the cooked fish and I drink the tree sap.

"I got a plan," Beetee says. We all look at him expectantly. "So at 12 the big lightning tree strikes. The reason that other tributes aren't here is because we're here. It is after all the safest place in this arena. So the plan is that we take this wire and attach it to the tree before 12. While we're out, all the other tributes will stay on the beach or on the edge of the tree line that will be soaked by the 4 o'clock wave. We put the other side of the wire in the water and when the lighting strikes, the beach and all the wet sand will be electrocuted, killing all the other tributes." We all look at each other for a while, thinking. I look at Cato and he shrugs a why not.

"Okay," he says,

"Why not? If it doesn't work it won't matter," I say.

"Yeah, I think we should give it a try," Haymitch says. We all go around saying how we like the ideas.

"I have only 2 rules for this plan. One is that you have to listen to me and agree to do whatever I need to be done to make this work. And second is that you have to keep me alive till then," he says. We all nod and agree. When we're all doing our own things in the beach I pull Cato aside.

"Are you okay?" he asks me. I just nod.

"I'm worried," I say vaguely.

"Why?" he asks, moving in closer and stroking my cheek.

"If this plan works, which it most likely will, we're going to have to break the alliance," I say.

"And?"

"I don't want to kill first," I say.

"Well maybe they don't want to either," he says, comforting me.

"I just think that we should break off from the alliance now," I say, looking at him.

"I don't think that's a good idea..."

"Why not?"

"Because, we need this plan to work. I promise when the first cannon sounds we break from the alliance," he promises. I just nod, I don't have a good feeling about this.
