Happy Mothers Day to all!

Cato POV:

After Clove follows Johanna into the woods, I take the position of a guard. I raise my sword to a fighting position and ready it, looking into the vast amount of space I'm watching. I look over to Finnick and Haymitch, I don't trust them at all. Finnick, even though he has a serious look on his face, there's still a mischievous look twinkling in his eyes. Haymitch has a smug grin on his face, even though he should be concerned about how the plan is going to end up. Beetee is stuck in his work, a look of deep concentration is plastered onto his face as he sorts out wires and looks to be calculating in his mind. I look into the clearing where Johanna and Clove disappeared from. I don't know what to think of Johanna, should I trust her or not even talk to her. I just hope that Clove's okay with that crazy girl, who knows what Johanna'll do.

"How long until 12?" I ask Beetee just to break the silence.

"Probably around 30 minutes," he says squinting up at the sky.

"Shouldn't we head to the three o'clock section at around now?" Finnick asks, looking bored.

"Let me just set up a couple more things," Beetee responds.

"How do we know that they got there safely?" I ask, worrying about Clove with Johanna.

"We don't, we'll meet them at 3," he says. I look up at the sky, the clouds are getting darker and I feel small gusts of wind already. I look around the alliance that me and Clove made. I wonder who will break first. Probably Johanna with her axe, Beetee will probably hide somewhere and disguise like the morphlings did.

BOOM!

The cannon, the alliance has broken.

"Clove!" I yell, not caring about the task and running towards her.

"Cato!" I hear her weakly yell. I look around, trying to find the source of the sound. I hear rustling and I crouch down, sword at the ready. I'll kill anyone. I watch as two people walk out of the bushes, armed with a spear and knifes. I can't tell who's who, but I know it's not Clove. I don't strategize, I leap out of the bushes and quickly find one of the tributes and puts a knife to the person's neck.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"Daniel, Daniel Bernhardt," he stutters out, trying to free himself, but to no avail.

"Who are you?" I ask to the dark figure.

"Marian Green," the female answers more confidently.

"Okay Marian, try to kill me and your ally gets it," I say, putting a little more pressure on the sword so it draws some blood. I realize that the male has a spear in his hand, but I quickly grab it and set it down next to me.

"Sorry Daniel," I hear a faint voice. Then knife after knife comes rushing at me. Luckily at the training center we learned how to dodge knifes, so every knife that came at me hit little Daniel. He screamed in pain at every knife, but Marian wouldn't stop. She only stopped when all of her knifes were buried in Daniel's carcass. I dropped his dead body to the ground as the cannon sounded. Marian tried to put as much space between me and her, thinking that my sword wouldn't be able to reach her in time. I just sigh, she was making this too easy, I pick up the spear and launch it at her, finding her target in her head. The cannon booms and I move on, needing to find Clove.

"Cato!" I hear her scream.

"Clove! Where are you?" I scream out into the jungle, running toward where the sound came from. I chop anything in my way and run over to the tree I abandoned. I look around, Haymitch and Finnick abandoned this place. I look for Beetee when I see him on the ground, laying there.

"Beetee?" I ask him, shaking him. He just lays there dead. I look around, the wire that he was using was attached to a small spear that was next to him. It seems like he threw it, but it hit the forcefield, killing him in the process. I look up, the clouds are swirling and it's almost 12. I go and hide in nearby bushes, knowing that if Clove comes, I'll be here.

Clove POV:
I run woozily toward the tree that Cato was last time I saw him. The blood loss is really affecting me and the black in my vision won't go away. I know it's not healthy for the baby, but I can't control it.

"Cato!" I yell, hoping there are no nearby tributes.

"Clove!" he almost immediately answers back, I run over to the tree, thinking he'll be there. When I arrive I see Beetee dead and a spear loosely tied with the wire. I walk over hesitantly.

"Clove!" I hear Cato yell, I turn around to see him running from the bushes, smiling. I smile back too, but he immediately frowns when he looks at me.

"You're bleeding," he says, stroking my neck gently.

"Johanna cut me in the arm, then smeared all my blood around my body," I say, grabbing onto a tree for support. Cato quickly grabs my arm and I lean on him. I look up at the ragging storm clouds and think. Why would Beetee risk his life to throw a spear at the forcefield? I look up, I see there are these small hexagons in the sky, as if it's a barrier between this arena and the real Earth. This must be the forcefield. I follow all of the hexagons to the middle where it's just swirling cloud. This must be what Beetee meant to do, he must have wanted to blow up this arena. I slowly lean down and grab the spear, unraveling the wire from it. Cato looks confused, but helps me anyways. One I did that, I tied the rope onto one of my best knifes, one that I know will be very easy to throw and good for long distances. I take a deep breath and squat into my long distance throwing stance. I unfocused on all the sounds and wind and I almost forget about the wound in my arm and all I focus on is the swirling clouds in the middle.

"What are you doing?" Cato asks.

"Something that has to be done," I say, kiss his cheek and throw the knife up, right when the lighting was about to strike. I watch in awe as the wire travels all the way up to the sky, then I hear a deafening sound. There's a big flash of light and then I get thrown backwards by the force of the explosion. The ground comes rushing at me, and I use my elbows to shield my stomach.
