Hades went to Buffy. He spoke to her directly while everyone was listening.

Buffy: What happenned to the president and the others?
Hades: I came to help. I warned there could be consequences, but I was arrogant. I thought I could delay it. Sides had to be chosen, they chose themselves, to abandon their world. Thus they were given to the darkness.
Buffy: What does that mean exactly?
Hades: They are monsters, lacking free will, serving the First for the final battle.
Buffy: Is there any way to get them back?
Hades: If we win. If enough people gave their blood, they will be set free.
Buffy: All this because you came to fight.
Hades: Not exactly. I brought help. I took your advice. Perhaps that was a mistake, but we're here now.

Hades summonned them and they appeared. People who'd died recently, some long ago, who'd given their lives for others. Buffy was relieved to see her mother, to have her back again. Giles came back as well. So did Cordelia, Kennedy, Laurie, Liam's father, brother Thelonias, some from Rivalli's Inquizatory order, Chris Epps, Dr Backer, Molly, Harmony, the Hellmouth spawn, Anne, Syed Ali, demon hunter Sid, Sid's sidekick Morgan, Kendra, Merrick, Lawson, Lydia, Philip, the Oracles, Fatima, Maria, Gunn's sister Alona, Caligo, Sinea the first slayer, and Sinea's beloved Aurelius. They were here to help them. Buffy's group was relieved to have the extra help in the final battle. But in the back of their minds they wondered what other balance needed to be met for this help.
