Between Hades' knowledge and what Spike had seen Buffy's team knew the Master's plan. Those new monsters would kill Buffy's group, every life they took would give the Master strength. The more who survived until battle's end the more strength would be used against the Master. Buffy would go down alone to fight him. The Turak-han would likely attack the school, kill as many humans as possible. Faith's group would barricade themselves inside, but they'd get through soon enough. They hoped for victory, but they knew it would not come without loss. If this world survived, many of them wouldn't live to see it.
