The final battle was mere hour away. Buffy was suprised to learn that principal Wood had arranged a prom here for tonight. This army needed a little bit of fun before likely death. This night was also a good way for former enemies to learn to get along. They were all in the same boat now, for better or worse. Most students now realized that Buffy was their champion, protector. They gave her an award. It was little more than unbrella, given their limited time and budget. But it gave Buffy some much needed comfort. Also, with food supplies deteriorating, and using much on this last party, it would be a little while before this town could be inhabited by humans. Before his "dissapearance" president Wilkins had arranged for the band "Coldplay" to perform via sattellite for this prom, his way of providing entertainment for the troops. Coldplay performed "Fix you" for everyone, allowing them to forget, at least for the moment. But their joy was tempered with fear. In less than one day, win or lose, they might all lose their lives.
