Chapter 549
Buffy had so many people she wanted to see before going into the final battle. But she knew that whatever she said would likely be goodbye. Even if they won Buffy would likely be called back to Hades realm. Hades said even he might die in this battle, but he'd likely be replaced. Both sides had ghosts on their team. They could be killed, and they'd be called back in the end, win or lose. Buffy tried to sneak down to the school basement. Based on what Jessie and Colin told them this entrance would lead down to the Master's lair. This was the sight where the Master was buried all those years ago. It seemed Colin was fulfilling his destiny, leading the slayer into Hell. When Buffy reached the basement Angel, Spike, and Faith were already there. They knew what Buffy was planning, they wanted to help. They knew that Buffy had to face the Master alone, but they could help her get there. Did she really think the Master wouldn't cheat? Wouldn't have Turak-han guard his lair? That would at least wear Buffy down before their confrontation. Faith, Spike, and Angel could fight them off while Buffy made her way down. Buffy was the slayer, but she was not alone.
