My awakening was rather rude and sudden, as ice cold water was suddenly shot into my face, sitting up at the sound of laughing Nepeta was standing at the open flap of the tent with a large water gun in her hands. Next to me Karkat was sitting up as well, his hair stuck to his face from the water that was dripping onto his sleeping bag, while I wish I hadn't gotten sprayed, I couldn't help but laugh at my friends flustered face.

"You think that's funny fucker?" Crying out as he suddenly lunged at me, we rolled around the floor of the tent while Nepeta sat there watching up, giggling at the same time, and before we knew it, she had shot the two of us with ice water once again. Meeting gazes with Karkat, we both nodded and as he jumped up and ran at Nep with a smile, I leapt to my feet just in time for her to scream and run off, both of us hot on her heels. The others jumped out of our way, or those that had been watching cheered and shouted for Nep to run faster, the only one that didn't cheer is exactly who she ran for, hiding behind his large frame. Karkat and I both came to a halt right in front of Equius, where Nepeta was peeking out from behind him, sticking out her tongue. We nervously shifted as he held hand out for the water gun and Nep handed it over without hesitation, and to our surprise, it wasn't us that got shot with the freezing water, but Nepeta.

"Gaaah!" Her bangs fell into her eyes as she stood there in shock, mouth opening and closing as she searched for something to say, but then she grinned and startled laughing, looking up at Equius as even he cracked a smile, I scanned the yard, finding pretty much everyone, except Gamzee. Thinking I might have overlooked him, I checked again and even counted, but he was nowhere in sight as if she was noticing my distress, Nepeta jumped up onto my back, putting her hands on my head. "Only one left~! Karkitty, it's your turn!" Hm? Looking over at Karkat, he was staring Gamzee's tent with a slightly repulsed look before meeting my gaze.

"That fuckass is a huge dick when he's woken up. So these assholes think it's my job." Following after as he made his way to the others tent, he paused for a brief moment before grabbing the thin bars holding the tent up and shaking it. "Come on dimwit! Time to get up!" The noises from inside the tent sounded almost inhuman, but as it got louder I realized it was just an extremely gravely groan, followed by the sound of fabric moving around on the plastic floor. "Gamzee! Get the fuck up!" Rolling my eyes at the violent voice, I moved over to my bag to grab my phone to check the time, damn, no wonder I felt like I slept forever, it was already past two. "Don't make me tell you again shithead!" Without really thinking about it, I called over my shoulder to the nearby tent under attack by Karkat.

"Hey Gamzee! You going to sleep all day? It's past two already!" When I did turn around, candy red eyes were fixed on me with a scowl, and as the rustling sound came from inside the tent again Karkat got tense as if bracing for a beating, except all the came was the sound of the tents door unzipping. "Afternoon sleeping beauty." The figure that emerged from the tent looked disheveled as his hair stood up in every which direction, and the sweats that now replaced his swimming trucks hung dangerous loose around his hips. There was no reply as he just plopped onto the ground outside his tent, his head rolling to the side lazily as he yawned, seeming to be struggling to keep his eyes open.

"The fuck man! You listen to him but not me?!" Karkat threw his arms up and quickly stormed away, and since is back was turned, he didn't notice Gamzee look up at me with his lethargic gaze and then winked with a small smile. "Fuck, John! Come get some damn food!" Chuckling to myself, I sent one last quick to Gamzee to see if he wanted me to wait, but he just waved me on and I ran after Karkat.

Running through the field of tall grass, I dared a glance over my shoulder, only to find that many of the others had scattered in the same direction and were just now starting to drop off in the grass to hide from the light sweeping over the darkness. Before the light was able to reach me I dropped down onto my stomach, trying to keep my breathing quiet to avoid being detected by the single form wandering through the field, searching. It was eerily quiet for such a clear night, no crickets chirped and the wind had all but stopped, as if to condemn the first one of us to move and shake the grass which in turn would give away our location.

Jumping startled as a scream shattered the silence, and all at once it seemed as if the world let out a deep breath because in that moment everything seemed to come to life as the crickets started chirping up a storm and the wind rustled the grass. Well, there was one down. Poking my head up ever so slightly to see if I was far enough away from the searcher I started army crawling through the grass, trying to put more distance between them and me before the wind stopped again, but I wasn't able to make it too far. Coming to stop only about three feet further than what I was, a sound reached my ears that caused me to tilt my head to the side trying to pinpoint where it was coming from.

"Aha!" Flipping over onto my back the light quickly found my face, but before they had the chance to grab me I jumped up and started running as fast as I could through the grass, trying to avoid all the figures holding lights now. When had there become so many!? "I found one! Over here!"

"Shit shit shit!" Pushing my body to run faster it felt like, for at least a moment, I was running on air as somehow I lost my hunters by ducking behind a hill, then running further around it and dropping down into the grass again, struggling to keep my panting down to a minimum, but that proved to be the hardest thing to do as I laid back in the grass, trying to catch my breath. I wasn't laying there long when someone came to stand in front of me, shining their light on me.

"Ha! Found you again!" I didn't have it in me to get up and run again, so I just stayed on the ground, waiting to be tackled but instead they just laughed and stuck their hand out to help me up, dropping the beam of the light down and giving me the chance to see their face for the first time.

"Feferi, right?" She nodded with a large smile as we walked out from behind the hill, the number of people with lights having grown even more in the short amount of time, she waved her light around then laughed before calling out to them.

"I found John! Who's left?" Everyone holding a light quickly came to group up and it wasn't long before someone had passed me as well. "Well, it looks like we're only missing Tavros and Gamzee. Thankfully, they'll be hiding together." Someone next to me, Vriska I think, scoffed and flipped their hair (yep definitely Vriska) and starting to complain with an annoyed tone.

"Ugh, that damn clown." She crossed her arms and dropped the beam of light to the ground, letting me see her scowl. "Knowing them, they're probably off making out." My heart felt like it dropped into my stomach when she said that and I couldn't bring myself to even ask what she meant, thankfully Nepeta came to my aid.

"Hey now, they broke up a long time ago! I mean, you should know that, you're the reason the split in the first place. You're just mad cause they're still friends!" Turning my gaze over to Nepeta, her eyes briefly met mine before she turned away again, then jumped up and down. "Okay! But let's go find them!" Everyone around me nodded then instantly started scanning the grass with their lights while I stood there frozen for a moment, until Nepeta came up to me and offered a smile. "Hey, don't worry. Gamzee can be pretty crazy, but he doesn't pull that kind of stuff. Now come on! We can look together!" She didn't wait for me to give the okay before she grabbed my arm and dragged me after her further into the grass, our lights scanning in every direction for any sign of the last two hiding teens.

"You know, I still don't get the idea behind this game…" Nep smiled and ducked down into the grass for a second before popping back up just seconds later with a pout on her lips when she turned to me.

"I thought I saw someone… Anyway! The idea is! One person is like a "cop" in a way I guess, and we're all people from a party, since well, we actually are," She giggled a bit before jumping up on a large rock and looking around. "and the goal is to the be last partier still hiding!" We both froze as someone further away shouted.

"We found Tavros! Gamzee's the only one left!" Without a word, Nep took off towards whoever shouted, leaving me just to stare after her and wonder if I should follow. Shaking my head with a sigh, I moved to follow but something caught my ankle and brought me tumbling to the ground and seconds after a hand was pressed over my mouth, a familiar voice sending chills down my spine when it appeared suddenly by my ear.

"Shh, don't say anything, okay?" Gamzee pulled his hand away as I nodded then he snatched the flashlight off the ground and turned it off. "I was hoping she would leave before you..." Pushing over onto my back, I propped myself up with my elbows and glared at him slightly as a dull pain ached in my arms from falling.

"You could have given me some warning, that actually kind of hurt you know." He chuckled and moved his head closer to mine, his voice dropping even lower in tone as his lips lightly brushed against mine.

"Where do you want me to kiss it better? Here?" He placed a short kiss on my lips before moving his head a bit. "Or here?" With a slight chuckle he pecked at my cheek then shifted again, his breath suddenly on my neck. "Maybe here?" This time he trailed a line of kisses down my neck, only stopping in the slightest when I shivered at his touch then pulled his head back to mine, our lips crashing together.

"John? Where'd you go?" Groaning softly at Nepeta's nearby voice, Gamzee quickly pulled away then looked at me with a sigh before climbing to his feet, giving me some time to compose myself.

"Over here Nep! John and I ran into each other, literally and so I was tryin to help him out." Picking up the flashlight, I quickly turned it back on then climbed to my feet, brushing the dirt off of my clothes as I did so.

"Hey guys! We've found Gammy!" Nep turned to us again with a wide grin on her lips. "Hey John~ I'll take that flashlight back if you wanna stay out here with Gam for a while." Feeling my face burn my eyes narrowed in a glare, but she just giggle and skipped forward taking the light from my hands, her knowing gaze locking with mine. "I'll just tell the others you're stargazing~!" She sent a wave at us then darted away laughing. Feeling Gamzee's arms wrap around my waist from behind, I leaned against his chest with a soft sigh, then tipped my head back to look up at him, just barely getting a glimpse of his smirk as it disappeared into a grin.

"Come on John, how about we go "stargaze" further away?" Feeling the heat in my cheeks spread to the very tips of my ears my gaze dropped to the ground, my attention was ripped back up as suddenly my feet were no longer on the ground and we were moving somewhere.

"G-Gam!?" He just chuckled and shifted his hold on me, his arms moving, one under my legs and the other behind my back. "C-come on! This is embarrassing!" Looking over his shoulder as the light from the campfire faded, my stomach started tying into knots all the way up until my back was suddenly pressed against the ground and Gamzee's lips roughly crashed against mine. Surprised by the sudden kiss, I couldn't hold back a gasp and in that moment his tongue slipped past my lips and tangled with mine. Slipping deeper into his intoxicating hold, my arms wrapped around his neck at the same moment that he brought a hand to my waist and started pushing up my shirt.
