Surprised by the sudden kiss, I couldn't hold back a gasp and in that moment his tongue slipped past my lips and tangled with mine. Slipping deeper into his intoxicating hold, my arms wrapped around his neck at the same moment that he brought a hand to my waist and started pushing up my shirt.
Feeling his hand running up my stomach cause my body to involuntarily tremble, hoping that the other hadn't noticed I went on as if nothing had happened, but hearing his low chuckle as he detached his lips from mine I realized I wasn't so lucky and heat started to pool in my cheeks. He didn't make some smartass comment, which I was thankful for, and instead just placed a soft kiss on my lips once more before suddenly yanking my shirt over my head and latching his mouth onto my neck, where he proceeded to bit and suck at one spot.
"H-hey! You're going to leave a hickey if you keep that up!" Even with my protesting he continued on, but shortly after he sat up with a large grin and quickly shifted both himself and me so he was situated between my legs. "C-come on, if someone sees us like this…"
"Bro don't worry, motherfuckin Nep will keep us covered, none of them will come looking for us." He seemed rather confident in what he was saying which made some of my fear fade away, but left me with the notion that this might go further than I was completely ready for.
"Gamzee, um…" I struggled to find the right words, but the taller teen just hushed me but putting a finger to his lips before smiling down at me with a surprising gentleness, his fingers lightly brushing against my cheek.
"You say stop, and I'll stop bro, okay?" Feeling the corners of my lips turn up into a smile I nodded, and in return he leaned down and softly pressed his lips to mine before resting his forehead against mine. "I won't push ya to do shit bro; I don't ever want to give you a reason to not trust me." Putting my hand on the back of his neck our lips crashed together again, only for him to groan seconds later. "Okay but damn, please take of your glasses, those fuckers are killing me." Laughing nervously as I placed my glasses near my discarded shirt, he wasted no time with bringing me back into a deep kiss, and each touch sent my heart into a frenzy.
"Hey fuckers! Come back to camp!" This time it wasn't just Gamzee that groaned as Karkat's loud voice pierced the night, and as the other pulled away I pushed myself up to a sitting position and grudgingly grabbed back my glasses and shirt, quickly redressing.
"Shit, seems like we keep fucking getting interrupted…" Chuckling slightly, I leaned forward and gave him a quick peck on the lips before climbing up to my feet and stretching. He sat there a second longer, taking the time to light up a joint before climbing to his feet as well. "Actually, now that I think about it," He quickly blew out a lungful of smoke then smirked. "you should give me your number before splitting tomorrow." Oh yeah, I hadn't even thought of that, nor had I even realized that tomorrow was the last day of the party…
"Okay, we can do that later! Now though, we need to get moving before-"
"Hurry the fuck up you two! We don't have all fucking night!" Dropping my shoulders slightly, I glared over towards camp and sighed while Gamzee just chuckled as he started heading back to camp. Hurrying after, I slowed down when getting beside him and then rubbed at the side of my neck, a bit worried.
"Hey um, did you leave a mark? I mean, I normally wouldn't care but, the others…" He quickly grabbed my shoulder and checked over my neck before moving the collar of my shirt and letting out a relieved sigh before giving me a thumbs up. "So it's all good?"
"Yup, your shirt covers it." Well, I guess it was better than nothing, though, I'll have to avoid swimming tomorrow…
Plopping down next to Karkat at the fire pit, he eyed me suspiciously, his lips turned down into his usual scowl, adverting my eyes over to Terezi, who was sitting on Karkat's other side, I watched half amused as she seemed to be giving Vriska a rough time. Which, watching them is how I noticed Gamzee settled down next to Tavros, who was, like normal, by Vriska.
"What took you so long fuckass? We've been waiting forever!" Bringing my attention back to my obviously annoyed friend, his candy red eyes were glaring daggers at me as I just shrugged and scanned the circle of faces, all of which seemed unaffected by our tardiness.
"We were talking, and so we finished our conversation first. Jeez, is it really that big of a deal? I mean, you did just suddenly yell for us." When my gaze fell back on the face of my friend, his expression was almost startled as he stared at me with wide eyes, and instantly guilt washed over me, but I still kept quiet.
"Okay!" Aradia spoke from the other side of the fire pit suddenly with a large grin spread across her lips, her hands clasped together in front of her. "Now that we're all here! Anyone who wishes to can share a scary story! Thankfully," She looked over an smiled at Sollux. "we already have a volunteer to go first! Sollux! You've got the stage!" As she quickly sat down beside the figure wearing the 3-D glasses, he pushed them further up his nose then sighed, scanning the group.
(Sorry, I'm not going to keep his lisp in during this, there is just too much, and it would just be too difficult to read. I'll pick it back up after though!)
"Okay, I heard this one last time I was at the hospital visiting Mituna after his last episode." He cleared his throat a bit, and then sighed. "So when you're admitted to a hospital, they place on your wrist a white wristband with your name on it. But there are other colored wristbands which symbolize other things. The red wristbands are placed on dead people." He spoke normally while telling the story, and unlike when people try to do the creepy voice, it actually created a strange atmosphere as he continued, and it hadn't even gotten to anything that was slightly creepy. "Well, while I was there, I overheard some nurses talking about this one surgeon who worked night shift in the hospital. He had finished an operation the night before and was on his way down to the basement. When he entered the elevator there was just one other person inside. He casually chatted with the woman while the elevator descended. When the elevator door opened, another woman was about to enter when the doctor slammed the close button and punched the button to the highest floor." Confused, I stared at him with curiosity, trying to think of any reason why a doctor would do that, but none came to mind. "Surprised as anyone would me, the woman gave the doctor an earful for being rude and asked why he did not let the other woman in. The doctor said, 'That was the woman I just operated on. She died while I was doing the operation. Didn't you see the red wristband she was wearing?'" Blinking in shock, my eyes scanned the rest of the group, and most of them looked at surprised as I felt, and a lot of mouths were hanging open. "The woman in the elevator smiled, raised her arm, and said, "Something like this?" So of course the doctor hit the button for the nearest floor and ran as soon as the doors opened. Yet when security searched the building, neither of the women were found, although, the elevator camera did pick up the woman riding with him, and it was confirmed. She was a patient who had died earlier that day." When he finished, a small shiver ran up my spine, and silence overtook the camp, only the crackling of the fire was heard for the longest time, before finally, someone spoke up, their voice only holding skepticism. That voice belonged to Vriska.
"Hmph, cute Sollux, but I've got a better one." She flipped her hair behind her shoulder, a coy smile playing on her lips as she started into her story. "So the other day, a friend rushed me out of the house to catch the opening act at a local teen's club's music night. After a while, I realized my phone wasn't in my pocket. So of course I checked the table we were sitting at, the concession, the bathrooms, and after no luck I used my friend's phone to call mine." She paused and stared at the fire for a moment before raising her eyes and continuing, a slightly more disturbed tone in her voice. "After like two rings someone answered, gave out a low raspy giggle, it was obviously some guy, and then they hung up after just that. They never answer again. I eventually gave it up as a lost cause and headed home, knowing I'd get my ass chewed out if I stayed out to late without my phone." This time her pause was longer, and her smile had all but disappeared, her lips now in a tight line as she pressed them together. "I found my phone laying on my night stand, right where I left it, but it's only my sister and my mom at my place..." Okay, that turned out creepier than I thought it would, but neither of them had really left me feeling scared. That's when Gamzee tossed the end of his joint out into the yard and smirked, his lethargic gaze shifting to Vriska, smoke rolling out of his mouth as he spoke.
"Fuck, that shits nothing, listen to what I got." Glancing around, everyone seemed rather surprise that he had joined in, and next to me Karkat even muttered something under his breath, the only thing catching my ear was something about Gam being coherent. "So when I was a kid, I always hated it when my older brother Kurloz had to go away. My dad constantly try to explain shit to me how sick he was back then. That I was fuckin lucky for having a brain where all the chemical shit flowed properly to wherever they fucking had to go." While speaking, he was setting up to light up again, his clouded eyes trained on what he was doing. "When I complained about how motherfuckin bored I was without a brother to play with, he tried to make me feel bad by pointing out that Kurloz was more bored than I was, like that shitty guilt trip made a kid feel fuckin great, but I kinda understood considering he was confined to a dark room in some loony bin." He finally seemed able to succeed at lighting his next smoke, as he put it to his lips and took an unnaturally long drag, the smoke bellowing out of his mouth in a large cloud as he continued speaking. "I would always beg dad to give him one more chance. Of course, he did at first. Kurloz had been back home several damn times, each stay shorter than the last. Every time without fail, all the shit would start up again. The neighborhood cats with motherfuckin gouged out eyes showing up in his dresser drawer, my dad's razors found dropped on the damn baby slide in the park across the street, vitamins replaced by bits of dishwasher tablets. So of course dad became hesitant, and started using "last chances" sparingly." The look in his eyes was distant, almost as if he was reminiscing. "They said his disorder made him charming or some shit, making it easy for him to fake normalcy, and to trick the doctors who cared for him into thinking he was ready to come back home. So dad just told me that I would just have to fuckin put up with my boredom if it meant staying safe from my own brother." He brought the joint close to his lips, but spoke first, his voice almost seeming to drip with anger. "I always fuckin hated when Kurloz had to go away. I always had to behave myself when he wasn't there." An awkward silence quickly consumed the camp as he just took a drag and stared up at the sky, a smirk tugging the corner of his lips up.
"That's not, true right? Just a story?" Finally someone said what all of us were probably thinking at the moment, Gamzee's glazed purple eyes shifted to the speaker, Feferi, and he just shrugged with a smile. Karkat, who was sitting next to me sighed and rolled his eyes, his angry voice shattering everyone's fear.
"No it's not fucking true. I knew Gamzee back when we were kids, Kurloz never went to some fucking institution." There was a collective sigh of relief from practically everyone as Gam just chuckled from his spot and looked over at Karkat with a large grin.
"Aw come on best friend, you had to go and ruin my motherfuckin story. I had all of ya for a minute there." His eyes flickered over to me for a brief second before he went back to staring up at the sky, probably watching the starts once more. Now another silence fell over the group, and Aradia sounded almost disappointed as she broke the silence.
"Does no one else have a story? Those were all really good but, I was hoping for some more…" She sighed, but shortly after Sollux nudged her with his elbow, speaking in a hushed tone, but still loud enough for me to hear, and I was on the opposite side of the fire pit from him.
"Hey, tell them what happened latht month…" She quickly looked over at him with wide eyes before nervously checking over her shoulder, an out of place look of discomfort flashed across her face. "It'th freaky enough." After another moment she nodded then looked back at the rest of us before taking a shaky breath.
"Okay, so, last month on a weekend where Damara had gone off who knows where," Even though she said that, her eyes flickered over to Tavros who just sank down into his wheelchair even more. "I was out exploring the woods behind me. Something I had done countless times before, but this time, it was different. At some point during my walk, I found a small, one room cabin like thing, absolutely thrilled at my discovery I immediately went to investigate…" Her eyes were trained on the fire as she wrapped her arms around herself in a comforting manor as if shaken by the mere thought of what she was talking about. "When I found my way inside, the entire floor area and walls were just covered in old yellowing pages, all of which held charcoal drawings of… Something. Many of them said to run, that "it" was following. While this normally wouldn't unnerve me, something about it just seemed off, so, I left rather quickly." As she finally brought her arms back down into her lap, Sollux took a hold of her hand and she sighed before continuing, her voice now slightly strained as she shot another glance over her shoulder.
"As I was leaving, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw someone standing in the distance, but when I turned to look they were gone. By then I was completely freaking out and started power walking towards home, not wanting to be out any longer than I had to be. I was so afraid, I kept checking over my shoulder, and that's when I got a good look at the person I had seen just earlier. They were tall and I mean tall, as in like two feet taller than Gamzee, and they were thin, really thin. It was wearing a black suit and tie, which for it being in the woods was very weird, but the most messed up part about it? There was no face. Just a blank pure white head and indents where the eyes should have been." She visibly shuttered and turned to scan the tree line, as if afraid that speaking of it would make the creature or person appear, but when the coast was clear, she kept on. "Absolutely terrified I ran back home, absolutely booked it, and every time I would glance behind me, it would still be there, hiding among the trees, but the black and white sharply stood out, though since the sun had started to set at this time, I was afraid of the point when the darkness would conceal it from me. Thankfully I made it back home before I lost all the light, and I went around locking everything that I could before running into my room and curling up in the corner of my bed, all of my lights off." Her gaze shifted to Sollux for a minute, before taking another shaky breath. "I called Sollux as soon as I got into the corner, and told him everything that had happened, and when I looked at my window… I could see the silhouette of this… this thing as the moonlight illuminate it. All night it stood there, and all night I sat there in the corner of my bed staring at its shadow. I didn't sleep the entire night, and as the sun started to finally rise after what felt like eternity, it just, disappeared…" Unlike with the other stories, fear held a tight icy grip on my body, keeping me frozen and staring at the obviously nervous girl, as she struggled to speak again. There was no way the story continued…
"Ever since then, when I've been home alone, I get the feeling that, something is watching me…" It was quiet for only a moment before Nepeta let out a blood curtailing scream and quickly climbed onto Equius who had gone rigid, his eyes noticeably wide even while shades covered them. We all quickly followed there gaze and my heart leapt up into my throat when I realized what it was, lurking about a hundred feet away was the exact figure that Aradia had described. Speaking of her, she was staring at the figure her face having gone completely white, and her mouth was hanging open in fear. Karkat moved back closer to me, his voice shaking as his normally loud voice came out sounding pathetic.
"W-what the fuck is that thing?!" The air seemed to go still as we all stared at the figure, and it just stood there, staring back with no eyes, then it started walking closer, and everyone, (including me thought I didn't really want to admit it) screamed and started freaking out. Though after a moment, the sound of laughing reached my ears, and upon looking over, Aradia and Sollux were both doubled over and laughing so hard I figured there were probably tears in their eyes.
"Oh my GOD you guys!" Aradia sat up while still laughing, then wiped at her eyes as she struggled to speak. "I didn't think you guys would actually fall for it!" Quickly looking back at the approaching figure, their walk was now completely different, and they reached up behind their head and pulled down the head of what seemed to be a morph suit, and underneath was a grinning face, that I didn't recognize.
"Kurloz!?" Gamzee shouted the moment he registered who stood in front of him, and then his eyes narrowed angrily. "Bro that was totally uncool! Motherfuckin scaring us like that! The fuck are you doing here anyway!?" In response Kurloz made a few signs with his hands, each of which made Gamzee look that much more troubled, and then he turned on Aradia and Sollux. "You two shits called my brother in on this?!" They were both silent for a moment before breaking out into another fit of laughter while nodding. "Fuck this shit! I'm going to bed!" Without another word, he clambered up to his feet and stormed off to his tent. Slowly but surely others starting heading in the direction of the tents as well, and Aradia looked at everyone with a small smile.
"Oh come on guys, it was just a joke! I'm sorry, but you guys should have seen your faces!" Grabbing my phone from my nearby bag, I looked over at Karkat, who was explaining what had all happened to Terezi, who seemed really confused.
"Hey, I'm going to go check on Gamzee." He just waved me off in response and I just took that as my cue to go, and jogged over to the tent holding Gam, shaking it slightly, I knelt down by the door of it, speaking softly. "Hey, it's me, mind if I come in?" There was no verbal response, but he did unzip the door, so I crawled inside and used the light from my phone to find the zipper and reclose the door behind me as arms wrapped around my waist. "Hm? You okay?" His forehead came to rest against my forehead, and I felt a small nod.
"Sorry for stormin off bro, I just hate shit like this. My fuckin brain can't take it." Note to self; don't ever prank Gamzee unless I want to piss him off… He laid down on his blanket and pulled me down with him, so with a smile I set my phone off to the side and turned to face him, placing my head against his chest. "You know, you really are just one great motherfuckin miracle…" Smiling to myself as his voice was already drift off, no doubt as he was already starting to fall asleep.
"And why's that?" He shifted closer and put his cheek on top of my head, his voice even fainter when he replied.
"Cause you fuckin calm me down like no one else…" Feeling his lips press against my head, a slight heat spread across my face and ears, and as he breath evened out I smiled and laughed quietly before closing my own eyes, suddenly feeling the tug of sleep on my conscious.
A/N: Okay guys, the only story I actually wrote myself was Aradia's the rest belong to their writers, except I added bits and pieces to make them fit. Plus, even though it would be awesome, I don't own Slendy (Aradia's story). I really hope you like this chapter, because shits gonna start going down from here on out. So stay tuned! ~Imoto out!
