Hi Everyone. I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to update, I've been writing a novel and almost forgot about this story, but I'm back and I can only hope to update as often as possible so please be patient with me.

Most characters belong to Richelle Mead but the storyline belongs to me.

I hope I don't disappoint you with my upcoming chapters.

Your reviews have been wonderful and are spurring my dreams to be an Arthur and continuing this story. If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to leave a review and let me know.

CHAPTER SIX

The pulse of the pendant around my neck was what woke me, I opened my eyes and found the dark room lit up by the pulsing glow of my necklace I reached down and touched it. It felt like a heartbeat under my fingertips. Something else felt wrong, I could smell smoke and there was a faint red glow transparent through the curtains over the window. I pulled back the blankets and climbed out of bed and ran through the house to the front door, I called for Dimitri but the house seemed empty. I threw opened the door and stepped into hell.

The heat was so intense that I stumbled back in shock, the clearing was set ablaze, the beautiful wooden homes were now charred structure covered in red and orange flames. People were running for their lives, the sound of women screaming and children crying pierced through the night air. I stepped out of Dimitri's home and into the chaos, I opened my mouth to call for Dimitri but nothing came out. I tried again but still nothing. I was mute. My heart was pounding in my chest so fast I thought it would stop, I tried to help people but no one seemed to notice I was even here and I couldn't see their faces, they were all black silhouettes running and screaming in terror.

I stepped through flames that couldn't burn me and continued to look for Dimitri, Lissa or anyone but I couldn't make out any faces or detail.

But then suddenly everything went quiet, I could no longer hear screaming or children or even the roaring fire, I heard nothing but the soft crying of a baby coming from Dimitri's home which was now smouldering remains. The dark silhouette of a man stepped through the open front door and disappeared into the dark room. Dimitri, I ran to him, trying to call his name but still nothing came out.

I jumped up onto the veranda and stepped into the house, it was dark and I couldn't see a think, I reached up and brushed my fingers over the pendant around my neck and it began to pulse light again. I found myself standing in Dimitri's living room and there was a basinet sitting in the middle of the room with a crying baby lying inside. Dimitri was standing at the end of the basinet looking down at the baby. I called his name again and this time it came out a muffled whisper, he didn't move he just stood frozen.

I took a step towards them when a dark shadow suddenly rose up in front of me, I gasped and stumbled back. It formed into the silhouette of a man with two long mangled black wings spread out of either side. The dark feathers broken and ruffled and blood dripped out of the broken bones. A hood covered its face. It slowly raised it's hand and pointed a long broken finger at me, it's bones snapping and popping every time it moved. "You belong to us." It hissed, blood spraying from it mouth when it spoke.

"Stay away from me!" I managed to say.

"Fallen. Our blood. Fallen. Belong to us." Strange voices echoed around the room.

"Fallen From Grace. Angel of Fire."

Dimitri suddenly turned his head in my direction, his neck popping as he did, a long deep gash cross his beautiful face opening his skin to reveal blood and flesh. His eyes sockets were hollow and his mouth stitched together in the most gruesome way.

I opened my mouth and screamed.

I wrench forward gasping for breath, my hands clutching at the white sheets that covered my body, I felt a warm hand touch my back and I screamed in fear and tried to fight my way free. "Roza, stop, it was a bad dream, that's enough!" Dimitri's scolded, the sound of his voice brought me back to reality and I realized we were in his bedroom. I was breathing heavily and my lungs were burning, "Calm down, Roza your going to start hyperventilating." He pulled me into his arms and gently rubbed my back.

"Water," I croaked, and reached for the bottle on my bedside table but he grabbed it first, removed the lid and handed it to me. "Thank you." And I sculled half the bottle to ease my sore throat.

"That's better," he murmured. He took the bottle off me when I was done and pulled me back into his arms, he held me close to his chest, "go back to sleep babe, I'm right here nothing will hurt you." I was scared to close my eyes but Dimitri's voice lulled me back into a dreamless sleep.
