Ok, before I say anything, ya'll should know, this is a filler chapter! Emphasis on filler! So don't hate me because it's so unbearably short! This is as long as I could milk this scene, and I felt like it deserved to be it's own chapter! Don't hate me!

Kay enjoy! XD

Squint couldn't sleep. He'd tried, but he just couldn't. All he could think about was his sister and how much he missed her. He was laying sprawled out on top deck, not having bothered to try to keep warm; so what if the cold spray from the waves gave him hypothermia? He wouldn't care.

He knew he was being ridiculous; starving himself and submitting himself to sickness wouldn't bring her back. He didn't care; his appetite had vanished completely along with his will to smile or do anything. But then again, the same with everyone else. Depression hung over the ship like a great cloud; breathing sadness down their necks and making them all feel slow and uncoordinated and empty. No one was left unaffected; even the ruthless captain couldn't help being saddened.

He'd never admit it, but he'd actually been fond of her as a little girl; so much energy and ambition in such an innocent little package. From the day they'd adopted her- he could see her spark. The special spark every pirate had; the spark, the will that made them a warrior, that guaranteed them glory and victory. He didn't know why, but right from the start he knew that girl was a special case. She'd do something great. He didn't know when, but she was destined to do something spectacular.

After all, she was always so confident, so ready, so determined. If she saw one of her crew doing something, she wanted to do it too. Once she learned to hop; every morning, she chose someone to follow around. She'd attempt to do everything they did; succeeding half the time. Their Raz just had a talent for life itself; anything she tried she could usually tackle with ease. She had no fear- she'd attempt any challenge, so long as it was logical. She didn't mind taking risks, but she was a smart girl. She took risks, yes, but only if they weren't stopped by common sense.

Squint allowed a bitter smile to cross his lips as he scanned the sky, the millions of stars twinkling happily at him. He looked for the different constellations; Leo, Sygnus, Orion, Draco- as well the ones he'd made up with his siblings. There was a frog to the west, a butterfly hidden in that cluster off to the right, and-

Squint very nearly choked on his own spit. Sitting up and gagging in surprise, he rammed two fists into his eyes and rubbed his eyes as hard as he could. Great. The depression had stolen the last few scraps of sanity he had. Just great.

He stared at the sky, disbelieving. "What..." there up in the stars, perfected to the last detail was his sister. He could make out everything- her eyelashes, the fur patterns on her back, the way her ears flopped over and hung limp behind her head. In the picture she was smiling, standing tall and proud, staring off into the north. Beneath her astrological portrait was her name, written in fancy, delicate cursive. As if to prove it further, in her hands she held a long spear, the base touching the ground and the tip just under her chin. She seemed to be leaning on it, though her stance remained upright.

He wasn't even aware of himself as he was rushing down below deck- faster than he'd ever run- until he ran smack into the icy door to the room they ate their meals on frost bitten nights like this one. However, the impact affected him none and he simply yanked the door open, leaping up onto the table and sending a multitude of fruits flying. "GUYS!" he yelled, smiling for the first time in a long while. Everyone stared at him, curious and confused; what could have their previously-depressed crew mate do excited all of a sudden? "I know where Raz is!"

Ok, um… yeah. Please review! Bet ya'll can guess what Raz is holding in the stars! ^_^ Who wants to guess? Go on, guess! Anywho, please don't hate me for making it so short, I swear the next one will be longer! Review please!
