Season 1, Episode 13: The Waiting

Previously On 'California Friends'; Daniel offers Nikki his place for both Brie and her to stay in, And Nattie finally quits the Wrestling School, Meanwhile Eve fakes an attack and gets Melina suspended, also Brie and Melina both lied to each other that the kiss they had meant nothing.

"I can't believe you Nicole, why would you even talk to Daniel," Brie yells across the empty living room.
Nikki rolls her eyes, "Brie encase you haven't notice this whole apartment is empty, we have to move out in a couple of days, we have nowhere to go, we need his help Brie," Nikki yells back trying to keep her cool down.
"Really Nicole, really, 'WE' need his help," Brie says emphasizing the 'we' part.
Nikki continues to sit there with her arms crossed, "Yes, 'WE' have nowhere to go," Nikki says mocking Brie back.
Brie then looks at Nikki and she let's out a sarcastic chuckle, "Nicole, who's fault is this, I mean 'YOU' were the one who was so sure you would move in with John, so 'YOU' went on and sold our place," Brie says as she starts to shake her head with frustration.
Nikki puts her head down, she holds back her tears, "Okay I get I screwed up Brianna, but at least I'm trying to fix it, you're the one who's being negative," Nikki says with a shaky hopeless tone.
"Well Nikki, you went to my almost ex-boyfriend Daniel for help, can you not respect me and know as a sister that he hurt me," Brie says, also feeling hopeless.
"I'm sorry, but we have no other choice, it's either that or move back to Arizona, or even worse move back to San Diego with our father who we never even talk to," Nikki says as she hopes Brie understands her actions.
Brie continues to shake her head, "It's not fair Nicole, I always have to go down with you and burn in that fire for all of your mistakes," Brie says as she get's up to leave.
Nikki rolls her eyes back to hold the tears back, "I get it I've screwed up," Nikki whispers to herself as she no longer can hold the tears back, they pour down her cheeks as she listens to Human by Christina Perri.
Nattie sits in the audience, observing and criticizing a local wrestling show, to see if she would like to work there. After the last match she get's up to leave, when she runs into her uncle, Bret.
"Oh my god, Bret, What are you doing here," Nattie says with a smile as she hugs her uncle.
"Nattie, I haven't seen you in quite a while now, how's my favorite niece doing, what's going on with you," Bret says.
"Gosh, well a lot actually, but I can't believe you didn't call me, we could've totally gone out for dinner," Nattie says, trying not to ramble on about her recent quitting decision.
"Don't worry I've only been here for a couple of days, I still have another few weeks here to promote a couple of wrestling shows," Bret says, still curious on what could possibly be going on in Nattie's life.
Nattie then hugs Bret, "Well we should totally get together for dinner this weekend," Nattie says, as she turns around to leave, until Bret stops her.
"Hey before you leave I wanted to let you know that your dad is worried on where you might take your wrestling career," Bret says wanting Nattie to tell him about her recent quitting.
Nattie turns around, "I know he's worried, but it's all complicated, I'll work it out though," Nattie says trying to make her uncle understand.
"Well I heard he's talked to you about the NCA of Wrestling, he's told me that he thinks you would make it there," Bret says as he puts his hand on her shoulder, meanwhile in the building Almost Home by Mariah Carey starts playing in the background.
Nattie smiles as a tear makes her eyes gleam, "I know I recently told him to give me the number to that place, but I'm just not sure if I'm good enough, and I don't know if I could leave California, I've made a life here now," Nattie says feeling tugged by two different options.
"Well you should think about it, because we all know you are good enough to be there, and as for leaving California, well I think you can do it, after all you were able to leave Canada," Bret says as he goes in to hug Nattie.
"I'll think about it, but for now I honestly don't know what I want," Nattie says at that point not knowing which of the two to choose from, she however does know that either two choices will change her whole life.
"We're glad to have you back Melina, you're lucky we're giving you a second chance," Stephanie says as she get's Melina ready for her grand show return.
Melina gives Stephanie a smile, but she doesn't say anything, she just can't find her words due to how nervous she's feeling. Melina stands there behind the red curtains as she over-hears Skyscraper by Demi Lovato playing in the background, the noise of the crowd cheering makes her even more nervous, but when her theme song plays it gives her the exciting rush to go out and entertain. She comes out from behind the curtains and she looks at Eve with dead sharp eyes as she is now rising from where Eve left her at. She runs down the ramp and this time she actually does attack Eve, Eve's eyes widened as she feels Melina's show-stopping energy coming from her and the audience's rumbling of cheer. Melina get's to the ring and spears Eve, she then starts viciously attacking her, Melina finally let's out all of her anger and frustration that's been building up on Eve. Melina get's up and she grabs the championship from the ground, she lifts it up high, and shouts, "I have risen to be the next Champion," Melina says with a voice stronger than ever.
After Eve pushing people down, she is finally the one who has fallen down, Eve stays on the ground holding on to her ankle while she watches Melina walk away with her head high up, she stays on the ground as she waits for help. Eve now has another plan to keep herself Champion, she lays there after Melina's breathe-taking return, finally help comes and Eve explains to them that she her ankle is in serious pain, "I think I injured my ankle, I can't feel my ankle right now," Eve tells them as she try's to speak over the loud audience. They sit there in the ring with Eve, as they help her up, each person holds her up by one side and they help her walk, they walk down the ramp and Eve hopes her plan works out.
Melina drinks from her bottled water, when she sees as Stephanie walk up to her, "Melina, I have some bad news... Eve has been injured, her ankle was sprained, but the good news is that we're not going to have the storyline cancelled again, instead we are going to have to push the date where you win the Championship further back," Stephanie says as she watches Melina's spirit fall down.
Melina stands there with a blank pale face, "Gosh I've never injured somebody, I feel horrible, and I'm not going to lie I'm also upset about the date being pushed back," Melina says as her spirit that was just being lifted high up has now fallen down in disappointment.
"And the worse possible news... is that you might never even become Champion, my father might find somebody else or he might get another storyline idea," Stephanie says feeling bad for Melina.
Melina doesn't say a word, she doesn't know what to say, she hates to admit that she is only thinking about herself, but she won't deny that it's not the truth, because she does want to be Champion, more than anything else.
After Melina's short comeback and then instant downhill drop, she goes outside to wait for Jillian. She walks down the curved sidewalk when she suddenly hears something move around in the bushes, she stops and quietly walks near to see what it is, she then stops and looks through the bushes, she is shocked with what she is seeing. To top her horrible day off she sees something that she wishes she could un-see, she see's Brie making out with a guy, the guy is none other than Roman Reigns. She quickly backs away and her heart starts beating fast, she knows she'll break down and cry, so she doesn't put any further thought into it, because she knows that Jillian will come in any second and she doesn't want Jillian to see her cry.
From the side of Melina's eye, she sees Brie and Roman walk out from behind the bushes, so she quickly pretends she's busy on her phone, in order to avoid awkward contact.
Brie and Roman come out laughing and Brie's laugh fades away when she sees Melina, Brie completely turns awkwardly quite, Brie feels horrible and wishes she could tell Melina what really is going on.
"Wait right here, I'll be back with my car," Roman says as he rushes to the parking lot.
Before Brie can tell him that she would rather just walk with him their, she is left there awkwardly standing next to Melina. Both of them stand there across from each other in the dark evening, they stand there waiting for their ride to get there, but unlike there ride, waiting for each other in the love train is un-imaginable at that point.
Brie finally speaks, "Isn't it crazy how we were standing here 1 year ago waiting for our rides, the same way, except it was during the sunny day time and Nikki was here," Brie says in a quite tone, trying to get Melina to talk.
Melina finally talks after seconds of remaining quite, "We didn't know what was coming our way, we didn't know where that ride would take us, We were physically waiting for our rides, but emotionally we were waiting for something else to happen," Melina says also being quite, almost letting her emotions completely spill from inside her.
Brie smiles and let's out a small chuckle as she remembers that day, "Yeah who knew we would be here, It's been a crazy year, but here we are... still waiting, at least I think so, I'm not sure anymore," Brie says in response to Melina's symbolic line about waiting.
"No I'm done waiting, but hey it was quite a ride," Melina says with her quite tone, which she has been using all through their conversation.
Brie wishes she could tell Melina that the kiss between Roman and her was for personal experimentation, "I've been waiting here and sometimes I leave, but for some reason I come back and wait again," Brie says knowing that if Melina really knew, she would also be waiting, like Brie.
Both of their rides finally arrive, and they both leave, but both of them know, even Melina, that they will be back to wait again.
The night ends with The Great Escape by P!nk.
