Season: With two days to spare for the third anniversary to this fanfic... I'M BACK!

This chapter has been a work-in-progress since MAY of last year. This is how overdue it is. I know it's short but bear with me here. The mind block is insane.

As usual I want to thank my wonderful not-paid and non-official beta, Nonny. Who is going to skin me alive because well... I'm updating without her proofreading but I'll just go back and edit once she gives me her opinions. I LOVE YOU NONNY!

Narrator: What am I then?

Season: A not-paid nuisance.

Anyways... THANK YOU FOR THREE WONDERFUL YEARS GUYS! Just one or two more chapters to go... *sniffles* I'm ok. I'm ok.

The Legend Ends

The final preparations for the festival were underway around Infinite City. The entire Central Continent was excited over having the celebration but the influx of tourists it would bring was something that everyone was wary about. So there they were, mere hours away from the festival and Infinite Castle was utter chaos. The entire Odd Squad was currently in the conference room checking the list that had all of the details and to finalize things they needed.

The seating chart was; Ugly Wolf, Yu Lian, Lolidragon, Feng Wu Qing, Doll (holding onto Meatbun), Prince and finally Gui. The only two who could calm down Yu Lian's tendencies were Ugly Wolf and Lolidragon which is why they were sitting on each side of the mage.

Feng Wu Qing had already become pretty difficult to keep quiet when having these meetings, so he had been placed next to Lolidragon. He was happy with the seating.

Prince was acting as if he was annoyed at the seating they had. He kept complaining he did not want to be seated next to the bard but was secretly happy about it. Seeing Doll play with Meatbun broke his facade into a smile but he quietly coughed to cover it up.

Gui was clearly on cloud nine, sitting next to Prince. Gui's final attempt had been to slowly reach for Prince's hand. Prince pretended not to notice but slowly brushed their fingers together. He flashed a bright smile towards the bard that was gone as soon as it showed. Gui sighed but then his face light up even more so than before.

Feng Wu Qing's attempt had been more annoying. He kept poking Lolidragon, breaking her concentration. To calm him down, the thief searched through her bag and handed him a pack of cookies underneath the table. Feng Wu Qing happily munched on them.

After what seemed like hours, (and Yu Lian's staring contest with the paper was over with,) they were finally given the final stamp of approval.

"Okay, places everyone. Prince, are you ready?" Yu Lian said as she glanced back and forth to everyone.

Prince grumbled. "As ready as I'll ever be." He uttered out loud.

Yu Lian clapped her hands. "Great! The time is finally here. This is our last chance to leave a good impression."

"Sure..." Prince murmured.

"You have acted all high and mighty until now." Yu Lian stated. "Don't disappoint us!" She added, giving her death glare.

"He already does that all by himself." Feng Wu Qing snickered.

"Don't you ever shut up?" Prince could only retaliate.

"Guys, behave." Lolidragon said.

"Sorry..." Prince and Feng Wu Qing said. They did not really mean it and Lolidragon decided to let it slide.

"So, Prince starts." Yu Lian said, glancing to the tablet in her hand. "Then everyone else arrives and waves."

"I'm not regal enough to be able to stand next to his highness!" Gui wailed.

"Oh no! Don't you start now." Lolidragon wanted to punch him.

Ugly Wolf sighed. "I got him, don't worry."

Lolidragon could only stare and Prince was almost glaring daggers to everyone else.

"Let's just get this over with." He said.

"But Doll is sad that Second Life will close!" Doll said.

Prince smiled sadly towards the necromancer. "It'll be okay, Doll." He said patting her head. "Think happy things."

Now it was both Doll and Gui who were sniffling and wailing. It was as if the world was going to end.

Everyone agreed it to be a good thing they had all given Meatbun food beforehand. They would all need to close the game sooner otherwise.
Infinite Castle would be turned into a flooded castle instantly.

"Alright, Prince, we have been given the okay." Lolidragon said.

Prince sighed and took another breath, then grabbed his mic and began walking out to the podium.

"Break a leg!" Lolidragon said cheerfully.

"Don't break a leg, your highness!"
Gui quickly replied back.

"It's a good luck thing, Gui." Lolidragon said.

"I wouldn't want his highness to break anything!" Gui flailed.

"Oh boy..." Lolidragon simply prayed he wouldn't ruin things.

"Prince! Prince! Prince! Prince!" The crowd was cheerfully calling out to their elf, who had been announced to be the star and the entrance person to the festival.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm here." Prince walked out of the podium and into the stage that had been set up.

The crowd went ballistic and Prince sighed.

"I understand you're all excited, but I need you all to be quiet."

The crowd's cheers slowly died out, until nothing could be heard.

"That's much better!" Prince chirped. "Ah, silence is the best."

The crowd laughed at that. They all knew that wasn't the case. Prince was the loudest from the Odd Squad after all.

"Where do I even start?" Prince uttered to himself, as if thinking out loud. "I'm not really good at this!" He said to everyone.

Prince could hear different things from the crowd. The ones that stood out the most were; "Just tell us your honest feelings!" and "We're with you until the end!"

Prince laughed. "I'm also with you all until the end. And this is what it's about after all, isn't it? The festival will now begin with a concert."

Fair Sky, Ice Phoenix and Wicked took their place by their instruments. Prince was waiting for them to finish setting up. With his microphone at hand he nodded to them.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Ready when you guys are." Wicked stated as he held his flute.

Fair Sky finished tuning her guitar, and Ice Phoenix grabbed her drumsticks.

"I'm Prince and these guys are Ice Phoenix, Fair Sky and Wicked. We're going to sing a little song for you." Prince stated.

Wicked started playing the flute, and then came Ice Phoenix with the drums, finally Fair Sky joined in with her guitar.

Prince began to sing.

I never wanted to be... another gear in that corrupted world's machine!

All my life felt like a dream, I was never who I really wanted me to be...

But then God shattered that dream's cage, and rose me up to a new stage! Cut it away like a sharp knife, then gave me this new life...

Now suddenly there's a new twist, a reason to really exist... I wanna breathe in the fame...

AS THIS WHOLE NEW WORLD CHEERS MY NAME!

I'll never leave it to fate! So when I see a chance I'll pave the way, I'll call checkmate, this is the time to break through, so I'll rewrite the story and I'll finally change all the rules!

All of a sudden Lolidragon, Gui, Yu Lian, Ugly Wolf and Doll came up to the stage.

WE ARE MAVERICK! We won't give in, until we win this game! They all chorused together.

Prince couldn't help but glare.

Though I don't know what tomorrow holds, I'll make a bet and play my cards to win this game!

He sang, as he tried to regain control.

Unlike the rest, I'll do my best and I won't ever lose! To give up this chance would be a deadly sin, so let's bet it all... I'll put all my faith in us!

So let the games begin!

Everyone else joined in to sing the final part.

When the song ended Prince sighed in defeat. "THANK YOU SECOND LIFE! As you can see, we are Odd Squad and that was This Game!"

"Your highness, that was amazing!" Gui squeed.

Doll and Lolidragon were hugging each other tightly and congratulating one another.

"Yeah, I'm just glad none of you ruined the song." Prince said. "You're practically tone deaf, Gui!" He teased.

"Your highness." Gui wailed. Ugly Wolf pat his back.

"Okay, Prince thank you for telling us we suck." Lolidragon said as she and Doll broke apart. She was now hitting him in his right arm. "But we need to finish what we started."

"Doll agrees!" The necromancer said.

They all ushered Prince into the middle of the stage.

"When this is over I'm seriously going to have fun watching you all undigitize." Prince murmured.

"Well that's not going to happen for at least a couple more days." Yu Lian said.

Feng Wu Qing made his way to the stage. "And until then, WE ARE GOING TO EAT ALL THAT WE CAN!" He screamed. "AND PARTY AND HAVE FUN LIKE NONE WE'VE EVER HAD! Who's with me?" He added as he screamed towards the crowd. "I SAID... WHO IS WITH ME!?"

The crowd yelled and screamed back in unison. "WE ARE!"

Yu Lian shook her head. "For any one who cares, Second Life Festival is now under way." She muttered as she walked off the stage.

"FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!" Feng Wu Qing chanted excitedly and ran off the stage.

Prince dropped his microphone in a hurry and ran after him. "Don't leave me behind you glutton."

"Can't catch me!" Feng Wu Qing yelled.

"Ugh you little...!" Prince started muttering curses as he raised his hand and made a fist, trying not to bump into things on his way out backstage. "Just wait until I do catch you."

"Na, na, na, na." Feng Wu Quing taunted as he glanced back, sticking out his tongue.

Season: All in all it is a good start to the festival isn't it?
