I'm back! Did you miss me? Of course you did. Well, time for another chapter. But first, a minute of silence for my old laptop, it held great memories, memories that I can never see again. May it rest in pieces.

Minute over, time to get started!

Chapter 5: Familiar Talent Show

"Stand straight and keep your head high!" Louise ordered to Danny, who was doing what she was saying, his left eye twitching in annoyance. They were currently in Louise's room, Louise making Danny do some practice walking.

"Why am I doing this again?" Danny asked as he stood straight, resisting the urge to scratch his nose.

"I told you, the Annual Exhibition is in three days," Louise said irritably. "All second year students are supposed to exhibit their Familiars in front of the entire school."

"Okay," Danny said with a nod, dropping into a more casual pose. "But if it's so important, why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Don't ask your master dumb things!" Louise exclaimed. "Just do what I tell you!"

Danny noticed her eyes wandering to her desk, looking at a letter she got this morning. Whatever was in that letter, it was making Louise nervous for this Annual Exhibition.

"So, what are you going to do?" Louise suddenly asked.

"For the exhibition?" Danny said as he thought about it. "I could smile and wave."

Louise glared at him.

"Kidding," Danny said with a chuckle as he thought about what to do. He could show off his Ghost Powers, but that might get him in trouble. "Hm…I've got nothing."

Louise sighed as she thought about what her servant could do for the exhibition. She then looked at the naginata on the wall. "You could show off your fighting style. Or use your ability to talk to other Familiars and make them do tricks."

"Nah," Danny said as he shook his head. "I'd look stupid if I fight the air, and the other idea would make the Familiars show off, not me."

Louise grumbled as she crossed her arms and think. She knew Danny could do amazing things, with him talking to Familiars and beating Nobles, but that might be all he could do that was noteworthy. She looked around the room and saw the ocarina they bought a week ago.

She wouldn't admit it to him, but she enjoyed the sound of him playing the instrument. It reminded her of times when she didn't have to worry about anything. Those times where she wasn't laughed at or being judged, remembering her big sister's smile, saying things will be alright.

"I got it!" Louise exclaimed, surprising Danny. "You could play your instrument! Go and make a song."

"Right, make a song in two days on short notice," Danny said sarcastically as he looked out the window, looking at the two moons. It was pretty. "That'll be easy as pie."

Louise yelled at him for his tone, but since it was late, she decided to call it a day. She changed into her sleeping clothes and went to bed. Danny just removed his jacket and sat on his hay bed. He then looked at his sleeping master.

He couldn't stop the small smile on his face as he stared at her sleeping face. She may be an annoying girl, but she was so innocent when she sleeps. It made him feel weird, the same feeling he had when Siesta kissed him.

He sighed before lying down, using his arms as a pillow. He gazed at the ceiling, waiting to fall asleep.

The Next Day…

Danny was sitting on the grassy court yard, playing his ocarina. He was leaning on Illococoo, who was protecting him from the other Familiars. It was a deal they made, Danny would hang out with her while she guards him from the other Familiars.

Danny was playing a Japanese folk song that he would listen to relax. He played the notes, filling the air with soft music. It was a peaceful song that would bring him peace whenever he was troubled. Illococoo was purring along with the music, her head resting on Danny's lap.

"That's a great song, Big Brother," Illococoo said as Danny ended the song, rubbing her head on his lap.

Danny petted her with a smile. She started calling him 'Big Brother' two weeks ago, and he was starting to like it. It made him feel closer to the dragon.

"Thanks," he said as he rested his head on her side. "I use to listen to this song back at my own world whenever I want to relax. So what will you and Tabitha do in the exhibition?"

"It's a secret." Illococoo said in a teasing tone.

"Shouldn't you guys be practicing," Danny commented as he looked at the other side of the courtyard, watching the other students train their Familiars for the upcoming event.

"Me and Big Sister don't need to train. We're too smart for that," Illococoo bragged. Danny smirked as he kept petting her head, causing her to purr loudly.

"Danny?" a voice said. Danny looked and saw Siesta looking at him, carrying a basket of white sheets. "How are you?"

Danny blushed a bit as Siesta smiled at him. He hasn't talked to her after he saved her from the creep, Count Mott. It's not like he was avoiding her, it's just that he didn't know how to react to the sudden kiss she gave him.

Sure he was kissed before by the other girls, and he was not counting the ones from his mom and sister, but Siesta kiss was different. It made him feel weak at the knees and drop his pants.

"I'm fine," Danny said, calming his heart down. "Just practicing for the big event."

"As well as everyone else," Siesta said as she looked at the other Familiars. "They are training hard since Lady Henrietta is attending this year."

"Who's Lady Henrietta?" Danny asked as he tilted his head.

"Lady Henrietta is the future leader of Tristan," Siesta explained. "She is the only child the King and Queen could sire. From what I heard, she has been groomed to be the new ruler, after the death of the King a year ago."

"Wow, she must be one strong lady to learn how to run a country," Danny said as he stood up, stretching his arms and legs. "So why's a bigshot like her want to see this exhibition?"

"I don't really know," Siesta replied. "But all of the second year students are really working hard for the contest."

"All but mine and Sylphid's," Danny said before Illococoo bumped her head on his back.

"Big Brother, I'm hungry," she said in a playful tone. "Can we get something to eat?"

"Hey Siesta, can we get something to eat?" Danny asked to the maid.

"I'm sorry, but we're all busy preparing for the princess' arrival for tomorrow," Siesta apologized to Danny, but it was Illococoo who was disappointed. "In fact I must be going and prepare the guest quarters. I will see you later, Danny."

She turned around and was about to walk away when she suddenly stopped. Siesta then put the basket down, turned around and grabbed Danny's hand, surprising him. She was looking straight at Danny's eyes, and he couldn't help but blush at the adoration she had in her eyes.

"I hope you'll do great at the exhibition, Danny," she said with a smile that made his blush deeper.

Siesta then let go, pick up the basket and ran off. Danny watched her ran off, not noticing his pants on his knees.

"Will you be having eggs with her, Big Brother?" Illococoo asked Danny in an innocent tone.

"W-what?!" Danny stammered, his face glowing red. "Don't joke about things like that!"

"Then why are your pants down?"

Danny looked down and groaned as he grabbed his fallen pants. Illococoo laughed as Danny pulled his pants back on. He really needed something to keep his pants on.

"Oh stop laughing!" Danny exclaimed as the dragon rolled on her back, still laughing at him.

Once Illococoo was done laughing, the two went to look for something to eat. There wasn't a lake in the Academy, so they can't go fishing. There weren't any fruit trees in the Academy, so that was a no go. And they can't go the village without their masters' permission.

"I'm soooo hungry!" Illococoo whined as she lied on her stomach.

"I'm getting a little hungry too," Danny said as he patted his stomach. Suddenly, a blue wisp of mist flew from his mouth. Surprised, he looked around and saw Katie walking towards them.

"Hello, Lord Danny!" the girl said with a smile, carrying a basket. He smelled something delicious in the basket. Behind her was Elizabeth, who decided to stay with Katie. "How are you?"

"Honestly? A little hungry," Danny said with a grin.

"Then would you like some pies?" Katie said with a nervous smile. "I've been trying some new recipes."

"Really? Thanks!" Danny said with a smile that made Katie blush. She offered him the basket and he took one hand pie. Just was about to take a bite when Illococoo swiped the pie from his hand and ate it. "Hey!"

"Yummy!" Illococoo exclaimed as she looked at the basket. "More please!"

"No," Danny said as he held the basket away from Illococoo. The dragon moved forward, trying to get the basket. "No!"

Katie and Elizabeth watched as the Half Ghost and dragon fight over the basket, looking very amused.

"Lord Danny," Katie said, getting Danny's attention as he tries to push Illococoo away.

"Please, just Danny," Danny said as he protected the basket. "We're friends."

"D-Danny," she blushed as he used his name so formally. "W-what will you do at the exhibition?"

"I'm gonna play a song," he replied before Illococoo used him as a pillow. "Get off me!"

"Play a song?" Elizabeth said as Danny phased out off Illococoo's head. "Why not use your abilities? Surely the Great One can impress the entire school."

"I don't want to take the risk," Danny said as he ate a hand pie and gave one to Illococoo. "The others might not be as open to me as you guys."

"What about your master?" Katie asked.

"I'm…still thinking about that," Danny said with a sigh. He was wondering if he should tell Louise about his powers. He wouldn't know how she would react if she learned her Familiar was half-human and half-ghost. This place may be filled with magic, but they might not be open to the supernatural.

"So what song will you play?" Katie asked.

"Just something I used to listen to," Danny said as he was about to get another pie, only to find the basket gone. He looked up and saw Illococoo dropping the empty basket. "Hey! You glutton!"

The dragon just stuck her tongue at Danny, her chest rumbled as she laughed. After talking for a few minutes, Katie and Elizabeth left Danny and Illococoo alone.

"Big Brother is so popular," Illococoo commented as they watched the two girls go back to the castle. "Will you make eggs with her too?"

"No I won't!" Danny exclaimed in a flustered tone.

"Then how about you make eggs with me?"

"You're a dragon," Danny said in a deadpanned tone. "There is no way we could make a baby…er…egg."

Illococoo was about to retort when she heard a whistling sound. She looked at the direction, knowing her sister was calling her.

"Big Sis is calling me now," she said as she stood up and stretched her wings. "Bye, Big Brother!"

"Bye," Danny said with a smile as he watched Illococoo fly off towards the whistling side. "Maybe I should go back too."

He stood up and was about to walk away when he felt a shiver on his spine. He looked and saw the Familiars all running towards him. He quickly sprinted away to avoid the Familiars.

"Illococoo! Come back!"

Next Day…

Danny stood next to Louise as all the students, professors and workers waited for the princess to arrive. Danny sighed as he rubbed his eyes. He didn't want to be here, but Louise woke him up and forced him to attend.

"Stand up straight!" Louise whispered to Danny as she noticed him looking sleepy.

"Kinda hard after getting blown up as a wakeup call," Danny whispered back sarcastically.

He frowned as he remembered sleeping peacefully and comfortably, as comfortable as one could get on sleeping on a hay bed. Louise tried to wake him up, but he wouldn't budge. After shaking and shouting, Louise loss patience and cast a spell to wake him.

The reason he was so tired was because after getting chased by those Familiars, he ran into Professor Colbert, the only professor he enjoyed learning from.

Like last week, when Colbert showed his handmade engine.

Flashback…

Danny was with the other students, bored out of his mind. He thought magic would be fascinating to study, but it was just like Math; you don't know something, you can't know it.

The only thing he understood was that the Mage's power depends on the element they could control: Earth, Fire, Water and Air. A two element mage is a line mage, three's a triangle and four's a square mage. Right now, most of Louise's classmates can control one element, except for Louise.

That made him suspicious. It was obvious that Louise could do magic, but from what he saw, it wasn't one of the four elements. Could it be a new element that was hard to control or was she just not good at controlling magic, but he was thinking it was the first one.

Right now, they were listening to Professor Colbert, who was talking about using a different energy force than magic. Most of the students were not paying attention, but Danny was interested in it.

"And now, the machine that will change the world!" Colbert said as he removed the cloth that was covering his machine. Danny's eyes widened as he saw the machine.

"What is it, Professor?" Kirche asked, not hiding how bored she is.

"It's an engine!" Danny exclaimed, happy to see something related to his old world.

"An engine?" Colbert asked in a confusing tone as Danny walked forward, looking at the machine made of metal and wood.

"It's something common to where I live," Danny replied as he studied the machine. After he retired, he decided to follow in his parents' footsteps and tinker with gadgets and gizmos.

Colbert seemed interested as Danny looked at his machine.

"But…it seems like it could use a few tweaking," Danny said, his fingers twitching a bit. After staying in a technology-free world, he missed tinkering. He turned to look at Colbert. "May I?"

Colbert gave him permission, so Danny fixed the engine a bit. After making a few changes, Danny pulled the rope to turn on the machine. All the students were shocked when they saw the machine making sounds and the small fan moved.

"So what does it do?" Louise asked, looking a bit curious.

"Well, imagine a carriage that doesn't need a horse to move, or better yet, a carriage that can fly," Danny said as he looked at his master. "This engine isn't strong enough to do that, but with a little more work, you won't have to rely on horses to travel."

A minute of silence later, most of the students started laughing.

"Hahaha! You're Familiar is crazy, Zero!"

"Carriage without horses and could fly? What an imagination!"

Danny ignored the laughs. What do they know? Louise seemed mad at her classmates for laughing at her Familiar.

"Danny," Colbert said as the class slowly stopped laughing. "I would like to discuss this horseless carriage you talk about sometime. Would it be alright?"

Flashback End…

From then, Danny discovered that Colbert was more into science than magic. After talking about the engine, Danny told Colbert about the things in his world. Colbert was shock to find out that he was from another world, a world where magic doesn't run the world.

Colbert greatly enjoyed Danny talking about science, something he was studying. With Danny's help, his research went through the roof. Things that were in theory, he was able to prove true.

Before Louise could retort, she was silenced as she heard the clips clops of horse hooves and a carriage. She looked and saw four knights walk through the Academy gates, riding on magnificent horses. Behind them was a white carriage so masterly crafted that it put the Academy's carriages to shame.

The students all waited with bated breath as the carriage stopped in front of them. The carriage driver jumps off his sit and rushed towards the door, opening it with a bow.

Danny watched, waiting for Lady Henrietta to appear. He expected Henrietta to be a middle age, snobbish woman, but instead he saw a cute girl about his age, with short, purple hair. Her purple eyes were shining as she looked at the crowd.

"That's Lady Henrietta?" Danny whispered to Louise, not hiding his surprise. "She's so young."

When Louise didn't reply, Danny looked and saw something he never saw in Louise's eyes; admiration. He never thought Louise would admire someone so young, since he never saw her look up to a teacher before.

It was cute to learn that she admired someone.

Headmaster Osmond walked towards Henrietta, bowing a bit, the other professors following his lead. "Welcome, Princess Henrietta. Was your trip pleasant?"

"Yes, it is," Henrietta said with a smile. "Thank you for asking. I am sorry for my selfish request."

"Not at all, Your Highness," Osmond assured her with a grandfatherly smile. "The students have all been eagerly waiting your arrival."

"I eagerly await the exhibition," Henrietta said with a smile, an excited tone in her voice. "This is the one year I want to attend the exhibition."

"Any reason why?" Osmond ask in a curious tone.

"Just for personal reasons," Henrietta replied with a smile.

Later…

Danny played the Japanese folksong to Louise, who seemed to be enjoying it. This was the song that he would play tomorrow for the exhibition.

"Good," Louise said with a nod once Danny finished playing. "It's not going to win us first place, but it'll impress the judges."

"Don't you mean impress Lady Henrietta?" Danny said with a smirk as he saw how Louise stiffened a bit. "I never thought you'd admire a princess. That's so…normal."

"You…You dog…" Louise growled as she pulled out her wand, sparks flying from the tip.

"Calm down now, Louise," Danny said as he raised his hand in a defensive gesture. He was not going to get blasted twice in a day. "I'm just joking. You're not normal."

That only made Louise angrier. Just as she was about to blast his face, there was a knock on the door. They both looked at the door, confused.

"Were you expecting someone?" Danny asked, looking at Louise, who shook her head.

"Who would come here at this time of night?" Louise asked a bit angrily. She was about to punish her disrespectful dog and someone interrupted them.

Danny walked to the door and opened it. He was surprised when a person wearing a purple cloak entered the room, quickly closing the door.

Danny, who was suspicious of the character, grabbed Kiba no Ryu from the wall and pointed at the intruder, his eyes narrowed.

"Who are you?" Louise asked, looking at the cloaked stranger.

"It's been a while, Louise Francoise," the stranger said in a sweet voice as she removed her cloak. They were shock when they saw Henrietta standing in front of them, smiling at Louise. Danny lowered his naginata as Henrietta rushed forward and hugged Louise.

"P-Princess!" Louise exclaimed as the hug ended. Louise quickly kneeled to the ground. "You shouldn't be here."

"Oh stop it, Louise," Henrietta said with a smile. "We've been friends since we were little girls. There's no need for formalities."

"Princess…you're crying," Louise said as she noticed the tears from Henrietta's eyes. The two hugged again.

"I'm sorry," Henrietta sniffed as she wiped her tears. "I just…didn't have someone to talk to…after my father died…"

Louise comforted the distraught princess, whispering soothing words. Once Henrietta was calmed down, the two shared another smile. Their moment was ruined when they heard a cough. The two turned and saw an awkward Danny.

"Um…sorry for interrupting, but could someone tell me what's going on?" he asked as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm kinda lost…"

"You, be quiet!" Louise exclaimed a bit harshly. She was probably mad about having her reunion interrupted.

"It's okay, Louise," Henrietta said as she smiled at Danny. "I've wanted to meet Mr. Familiar here."

"Oh please, Mr. Familiar was my dad," Danny said. "Actually…they call him Mr. Fenton or Jack. Call me Danny."

He yelped when he felt a slap on his head before he was forced to kneel.

"Show some respect!" Louise exclaimed to Danny before turning to Henrietta. "I'm sorry, Your Highness. His behavior leaves a lot to desire."

"So much that he stood up to that pompous Mount Cott?" Henrietta asked with a bit of amusement.

"You heard about that?" Louise asked with a surprised expression.

"Headmaster Osmond told me," Henrietta said slyly. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I think you have summoned a wonderful Familiar."

"He's actually a pain," Louise said as she crossed her arms.

"Aw…I love you too, Louise," Danny said with a grin. Louise blushed and growled as she was about to hit Danny. "If you hit me, it means you love me!"

Louise stopped her hand as it almost hit Danny's head. She glared at Danny as he laughed.

"I knew you were a tsundere," he teased as Louise struggled not to hit him.

She snapped out of it when she heard Henrietta giggled a bit. Louise blushed in embarrassment at how she acted in front of Henrietta. She glared at Danny, promising him pain. Danny just stuck his tongue out.

"It must be nice to be free," Henrietta said with a sad smile. The two looked at Henrietta as she changed her smile, hiding her sadness. "Well, it's getting pretty late. It's nice seeing you again, Louise. And good luck with tomorrow, Mr. Familiar."

They watched as Henrietta put her hood back on and exited the room. Louise watched sadly as her friend left, knowing how hard it is to be the future leader of Tristan.

"It's sad to see someone as kind as her to bear the responsibilities of politics," Danny sad with a sad sigh. Louise looked at him with a surprise expression, since he figured out her problem.

"You're right," Louise said with a sad smile. "It's difficult to be born in such a prestige family. But don't talk about it, understood?"

"Whatever you say, Tsundere Master," Danny said with a smirk.

A vein mark appeared pulsing on Louise's head as she glared at Danny. Now that the princess was gone, there was nothing stopping her from blasting him.

"Well, time to get some shut eye," Danny said a little quickly, like he could tell what Louise was planning to do. "We need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for tomorrow."

Louise watched as Danny went to his hay bed and closed his eyes. She glared at him, but admit that she was tired. She changed into her night gown and went to bed. Before she slept, she could have sworn she heard someone whisper "tsundere."

The Next Day…

It was a hectic day today as all the second year students showed what their Familiars can do. Kirche and her Flame created some beautiful fireworks. Guiche and his mole managed to impress them with how fast the mole could dig. Montmorency and her frog made some waterworks.

On the side of the stage, Louise stared nervously at Tabitha and her dragon flew around the sky, impressing the audience.

"Why did we have to go last after that," she muttered as the crowd applause from a loop the dragon made.

"Don't worry about it," Danny assured her with a smile. "We'll do okay."

Louise looked at him and was about to say something, but then noticed how his smile and eyes kept twitching. She looked down and saw his hands shaking. She was surprised to see that Danny seemed nervous.

"Are…you okay?" Louise asked as Danny took a deep breath.

"Yeah…just stage fright," he said with a nervous chuckle. "Not good with audience."

"What about the time you fought Guiche," Louise asked.

"That was different," Danny said. "I'm used to people see me fight. Playing an instrument? Not once."

Soon, Tabitha and her dragon bowed in front of the cheering crowd. Taking a deep breath, Louise led Danny to the stage. She looked at the audience and saw how many there, she became even more nervous.

She nearly jumped as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked and saw Danny giving her an encouraging nod. She took another deep breath and looked at the audience, a bit confident.

"My name is Louise Francoise le Blanc de la Valliere," she said to the crowd before gesturing to Danny. "And this is the Familiar I summoned." Danny gave a bow to the crowd, just how Louise instructed him to. "He…is a type of peasant…from a distant land."

She heard some chuckles from the audience, which she tried to ignore. She moved to the side as Danny took his ocarina from his jacket pocket and placed the instrument on his lips.

He played the folk song and half the audience seemed to be hypnotized from the music. Henrietta gave a small smile from the alien music. Tabitha also seemed to enjoy the music, her eyes closed as she focused on the music.

Even Louise, who already heard of the music, was enjoying it. She gave a small smile that was unnoticed, except by Henrietta.

Once he played the last note, he placed the instrument back in his pocket and looked at the crowd. There was silence, and just before Henrietta and others were about to applause, laughter erupted. The two stared at the crowd wide eyed as half of the audience laughed at them.

"Great Familiar, Zero!"

"I bet you just grabbed that bard out from the road!"

"Did you pay him to be your Familiar!"

Danny grew angry at their comments as they kept chanting Zero. Suddenly, Louise started running off the stage, tears in her eyes. Danny tried to stop her, but she didn't listen to him. The students kept laughing even when Louise ran off.

Danny glared at the audience, his eyes burning. He grabbed Ryu no Kiba behind his back. As he swung it, the blade glowed green. When the blade hit the ground, everyone was shocked silent as a twenty-foot slash mark appeared in the middle of audience. The chairs and audience were pushed off by the force of the sudden attack, causing them to fall to the ground, luckily unharmed.

"Well?" Danny roared as he glared at them with green eyes. "Aren't you gonna laugh some more? C'mon, laugh! I dare you!"

One of the braver, older students stood up, glaring at Danny.

"Who do you think you are, Commoner? Attacking us like that-!"

"You deserved it!" Danny roared, silencing the student. "Who gives you people the right to laugh at someone for being different!? Maybe I should laugh at how weak, fat or stupid you people are!"

A lot of students wanted to shout at him for that insult, but they were terrified at the green eyes glaring at them. His eyes finally stopped glowing green, returning back to blue.

"If you ever laugh at my master again, I will make you regret it," he threatened before he ran after Louise.

Once he was gone, most of the students started exclaiming at how disrespectful he was to them and wanted him punish.

"I must say, despite the rough way of showing it, he is remarkably strong," Osmond said as he strokes his beard, looking at the large slash mark on the ground. "He might even be holding himself back."

Henrietta looked at the direction to where Louise ran off, looking worried for her. She was happy that at least one more person was supportive of her.

Danny ran through the trees and saw Louise standing near a tall brick tower, looking down.

"Louise," he said gently as Louise looked at him with tear streaks on her face.

"Just leave me alone," she said as she looked away.

"Hey, I'm your Familiar and I am not leaving you when you need me the most," Danny said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "…I'm sorry Louise. Maybe they wouldn't make fun of you if you had a better Familiar."

"No, it's my fault," Louise said as she looked at Danny. "If only I was good at magic, this wouldn't be happening. I wouldn't have drag you in to all of this."

"I've been wondering about that," Danny said. "Your professor said that all mages need at least one element to have magic, but you don't have one but you have magic. Maybe the reason you're having problem is because you have a different kind of magic."

"That doesn't really help," Louise said as she cleaned her face.

"Well, maybe I can help you," Danny said. "I can train you with your magic."

"How can a Commoner train a Noble in magic?" Louise asked with a bit of skepticism in her voice.

"I'm not a normal Commoner, remember?" Danny said with a grin.

Before Louise could reply to that, there was a sudden earthquake. Danny and Louise looked and saw the ground opening before it started forming, turning into a giant body.

"A golem!" Louis exclaimed as Danny pulled her away just in time to avoid a stone fist.

"What's it doing here?" Danny asked as they watched the golem punching the brick tower. But the tower seemed to be protected by a magic barrier.

"It's trying to break in the Academy's treasury!" Louise exclaimed.

Danny grabbed Ryu no Kiba from his back and charged. He swung his naginata towards the golem's leg. It created a small crack, but it was enough to get its attention.

The golem went to grab Danny, but it was too slow as the boy jumped to the side. Danny swung his weapon at the golem's hand, managed to cut one of its fingers. Danny then jumped on its arm and ran towards its head. As he ran, he didn't notice the other hand coming towards him.

"Danny, look out!" Louise exclaimed. Danny was startled that she said his name for the first time. He looked at her before he was grabbed the rock hand.

"Easy on the grip there, will ya?" Danny grunted as he glared at the golem. He would have turned intangible, but Louise was there.

"Put my Familiar down!" Louise exclaimed as she pointed her wand at the golem, her hand shaking in fear.

"Louise, get out of here!" Danny exclaimed, afraid that the golem might go for her.

"No!" Louise exclaimed as she stopped shaking and looked at Danny with a determined expression. "You were here when I needed you! What kind of master am I if I won't do the same to you!"

Suddenly, she was surrounded by a bright light before a white orb appeared from the tip of her wand. Danny stared at the orb with awe since he could feel the power in it. It was untamed and wild, but the potential was there.

She fired the orb and it was flying towards the golem. It missed by an inch and it hit the tower instead. There was an explosion that caused a small dirt cloud. Once it cleared, there was a hole on the side of the tower.

In the trees, a mysterious stranger stared at the hole in shock.

"Impossible. My golem couldn't dent that barrier, but that little girl managed to make a hole," she thought. But this was an opportunity, so she didn't think about it too much. She just sneaked in the tower, leaving her golem to do the dirty job.

Louise fell on her knees, feeling weak from the sudden use of her magic. The golem was distracted long enough for Danny to get off its grip. The golem looked at Danny before looking at Louise. It then walked towards Louise, intending to smash her.

Danny eyes widened as he saw the golem about to step on Louise, who was still weakened from her spell. Eyes glowing, he slides towards Louise, grabbing her just as the rock foot slammed on the ground. He then raised his hand and fired a green ray at the golem knocking it a few feet away.

Danny looked and saw Louise's shocked face as she saw what Danny did. To her, he managed to use an unknown spell with an unknown element.

"H-how…" she said as Danny put her down.

"I told you, I'm not a normal Commoner," Danny said with a grin before he looked at the golem. He held his naginata and focused his Ghost energy in the weapon. It was by pure instinct, like he did earlier. He swung his blade and a green energy wave flew towards the golem, cutting half its body.

"I am loving this naginata," Danny said as the green glowed died from the blade. Suddenly, a figure landed from the rubble of the golem. From her body, he could tell that the figure was a woman in her late twenties. She had a gray hood on that covered her face, but not the bangs of green hair. On her arms was a long, wrapped parcel.

"Impressive," she said as she looked at Danny and Louise. "To think you defeated my golem."

"Who the heck are you?" Danny demanded as he pointed Ryu no Kiba at the stranger.

"I am Fouquet, the Crumbling Dirt," the thief replied as she saw a blue dragon flying towards them. "We will meet again, Mr. Familiar."

She waved her wand and the golem's remains suddenly exploded. Acting quickly, Danny made a shield around him and Louise, protecting them from the shockwave of the explosion. Once the smoke cleared, there was a small crater in front of them, Fouquet not on sight.

"The Crumbling Dirt," Louise whispered as she stared at the hole she made.

"Who is she?" Danny asked as the green shield dissipated.

"She's a master thief that steals from the rich and keeps it to herself," Louise replied before looking at Danny. "Are you really a Commoner?"

"I'm a very special Commoner," Danny said with a grin. "So, will you accept my help?"

Louise looked at Danny just as Sylphid and Tabitha appeared, landing next to them. He was just a Commoner, but from what she just saw, he knew what he was doing. Maybe he could be the one that could help her problem.

She looked at her Familiar and nodded. Danny smiled before he helped her up.

"You better be ready, because I won't be gentle."

Sorry for the delay. This new laptop is still learning. But I like that sound it makes when I type. Anyway, the Crumbling Dirt appeared and now Danny will help Louise with her magic. What will happen next chapter and will Louise finally find out about Danny's secret? By the way, the song Danny played is called Japanese Cherry Dream "Sakura Sakura." It's very relaxing. Well, enjoy and see you later!
