Chapter 16: A Tragic Love Story Part Two

A month has passed since I last saw Thornkin. Most of the time I would see him almost everyday, but now I feel like its been a whole year since i've talked to him. Surprisingly, I haven't felt anyones life force fade. Thornkin must've taken a break..

As the wind began blowing, the pink cherry blossoms detached from the branches and went passed me slowly. I stood there watching as they did and sighed. "I wonder what Thornkin's up to?"

I paused as soon as I said that. Thornkin?! I know I did not just ask myself that! He's a murderer and filled with evil! At the same time though, that look he had in his eyes when he told me that he might be in love with me, it really made me think twice about him. And then that kiss.. Why did I kiss him back? Is it possible I may have feelings for him also. I don't know..

I turned around about to do some more training until I bumped into someone. I instantly fell on my butt and struggled to stand up.

"Eternal?"

My eyes widened when I looked up. Almost immediately, I sprung back up and got into my stance.

"Thornkin?! What do you want?! If you're trying to pick a fight with me, now is not the time to, unless you want me to actually kill you!" I growled. He stiffened, but then rubbed the back of his head with a smile.

"Relax, that's not what I was trying to do. I just wanted to see you, I couldn't get you out of my mind." Thornkin confessed as he continued to smile.

I blushed. "You wanted to see me?"

He nodded and walked towards me while I stepped back.

"I wanted to see you too, I mean get away from me!" I shouted unsure of what to do. He didn't listen and just kept walking towards me. A shiver ran down my spine as I felt him grab a hold of my hand. I slapped his hand off me and began to run as far away as I could from him.

What's wrong with me? For some reason, I got terrified as soon as he held onto my hand. My heart was still racing. A couple of minutes later I reached the place where I first met Thornkin. The place was totally annihilated and filled with buried saiyans. I observed the village a little more before looking up in the sky.

That memory always haunted me when I witnessed him killing my parents and left me for dead. I was too weak at the time and couldn't do anything about it. Losing my real family at sixteen was insanely painful! I could never forgive that man. Ever since that day, i've been training hard and saving lives until I eventually surpassed him. Thornkin, I hate you! I HATE YOU!

I went to my parents grave and sobbed over their death.

"Mom, dad, i'm so sorry! Please forgive me.. it's all my fault I couldn't save you. I hope that you both will rest in peace."

As I stood there with my face buried in my hands, a hand pulled my tail and when I looked down I saw a small girl named Misaki crying also. "Eternal, please don't cry."

"M-Misaki. Silly, why are you crying too?" I asked her while wiping the little girl's tears.

"Because, your sad." She replied.

I smiled and picked her up. "Misaki, why are you here? You should be at home with your family. Today's your birthday right? It's April 23rd."

"I know. But I wanted you to come with me to see all the pretty flowers that is on the branches at a park."

The park? That's where I ran away from Thornkin. I can't go back there. Not only would I start feeling weird if I see him still there, i'm just gonna..

"Please come Eternal, besides, Thornkin said that he really wants to talk to you. He's so nice Eternal. Over the past week, Thornkin helped my people with whatever they needed. He's also pretty popular with kids my age. And also, I think he likes you, he always kept asking me about you and told me that you might be a hot head, but you care deeply for others and that's why he really likes you." The six-year-old stated.

She can't be serious? Thornkin?! He really did that? Ya right, I don't believe any of that. If she could even remember at all, HE'S THE ONE KILLED MY PARENTS AND LEFT ME FOR DEAD!

"I'm sorry Misaki, but i'm not going. I don't want to talk to that serial killer! I got a better idea, I want him dead!" I growled before flying up in the air at full speed.

"Eternal!" I hear Misaki cry out.

I couldn't stop myself this time, I hate him! Thornkin will die a slow painful death! He's going to pay for killing the only family I had!

Searching for his ki, I descended onto the ground and saw him looking at me with those soft eyes. I ignored what my heart was telling me not to do and sided with what my mind wanted, him dead!

"Eternal. I was looking for you. Where did you run off to?" He asked as he approached me.

"I don't believe anything Misaki informed me.." I say clenching my fist angry.

Thornkin grinned. "Misaki? Oh you mean the little girl. It's her birthday today right? We should go and see her, you wanna come with me?"

"There's no way in hell i'm coming with you! Don't act like you forgot what you did to my parents one year ago today! I'll kill you for that!" I cried out proceeding to rush forward and punch him in the face that sent him flying into a plateau.

He got back up and frowned. "Hey! What's wrong with you?!"

I didn't say a word and got into my stance.

"If you want to fight me fine, I won't stop you. Besides, I deserve to be killed by your hands. I brutally slaughtered your entire family, and almost killed you too." He said as a harsh white aura surrounded the both of us.

At once, our bodies disappeared from our places and had met again midpoint in the air, a loud crash could be heard as our fist pushed against eachother. Growling, I tried to kick him in the side while he countered the attack with a energy blast.

I flew back to the ground and quickly recovered, shooting a barrage of my energy at Thornkin. On impact, Thornkin shield himself with an energy barrier and smiled as soon as the smoke cleared.

"Eternal, you seem to get weaker when your completely angry! If you want to have any chance of defeating me, I suggest that you calm yourself down."

"Shut up! I can't let you live Thornkin! I hate you.." I cried as I fell onto my knees with tears consuming my entire face.

Thornkin only frowned and descended to the ground. "Eternal.."

With my face still devoured in tears, I managed to look back up at him. My vision was blurry thanks to my tears and I couldn't tell what he was doing. Suddenly, I managed to see him bend down to me and wiped away my tears.

I didn't do anything as he pressed his lips against mine. They felt so warm and soft. All I could do was close my eyes and deepen the kiss as he ran his hand through my hair. Love was all I could think about as he did that. Thornkin was someone I will never be able to understand.

After the kiss, he hugged me tightly.

"I love you. I'm sorry for what i've done. All those times we fought, you made me see that killing wasn't the answer to my problems. Eternal, I know I grieved you, but i'm not like that anymore. You changed me, give me another chance please?"

"Thornkin, why? Why did you murder my family? You've taken away so many lives, I don't think I should ever forgive you." I spoke truthfully.

He squeezed harder onto me and kissed my cheek.

"I was stupid, I took my anger out on everyone. Where I lived, My entire family hated me. They would beat me everyday until I was nearly dead. I'll never forget that day when I went insane and slaughtered my own family. Eternal, i'm not going to lie, after I did that, I became in love with the idea of killing. That's when I went to your people.." He explained with sadness filling his voice.

So that's why. His own family was the whole reason why this all happened.

"Eternal, ever since that day I killed your people, you trained hard and when you decided that you were going to protect everyone and slain anyone who would kill others, I was growing infatuated with you. But, the only question I have for you is: Why didn't you ever kill me like you did the others?" Thornkin asked still holding me in his arms.

"Because, I just couldn't. Even though you killed many, I didn't want to kill you. When you told me how you felt about me a month ago and even now, I realized my reason was because I love you."

He pulled away from me and looked me in the eyes. "You're in love with me?"

"Ya, I am." I answer crashing my lips onto his.

If he's telling me the truth about that he really did changed his ways, then I guess i'll give him another chance. However, Thornkin is gonna have to prove to me that he really has changed before I completely forgive him for what he's done to me and everyone else.

"Thornkin, I'll give you a chance to prove to me that you really have changed before I can forgive you." I offered after breaking the kiss.

"Thank you. I love you Eternal."

"I love you too, Thornkin." I replied, pecking him on the lips.
