Amy spent Thursday organising the house and arranging where things would go and on Friday went to the shops to stock up on alcohol and food for the party, she was going to provide snacks buffet style for people to choose from and also a small selection of BBQ food, she had invited her immediate social group and her mother had said she would stop by for a while to see the house as well
Friday evening was spent at Sheldon's apartment with the gang playing video games and eating Chinese food, Amy was the last to arrive and also the first to leave much to Sheldon's surprise, Bernadette, Penny and Emily all agreed to come to the house early to help her with preparations for the party before she left
On Saturday Amy had a quick swim and a shower before throwing on some jogging bottoms and a t-shirt just as the girls arrived, Bernadette wasted no time in asking questions
"Amy, what's going on with you and Sheldon? You barely spoke to each other last night and he looked gutted when you got up to leave?
"We had a disagreement about my moving forwards and it went from there really, enough about Sheldon for now, lets get organised" replied Amy
"What's to do first then?
"I hired an ice cube machine which is currently in the garage so I will go and collect that, I have several bottles of champagne to christen the house with and I want to lay out all the food on the dining room table" replied Amy taking stuff out of the fridge and passing it to the girls
"Does anything need cooking? Asked Penny
"Yes but that will be done later on the BBQ, I have a new house banner which somebody can pin up on the front door if they like"
"I will do that" said Emily eagerly as Amy showed her the bag it was in
The girls got down to work and within an hour or so the house was ready for the party, the girls decided to make use of the pool and have their own little party, Amy had asked that everybody arrived for 3pm which gave the girls all time to get changed into outfits, the first person that arrived was Amy's mom, she introduced her to her friends
"Mom these are my friends, Penny, Bernadette and Emily, girls this is my mother Beryl" said Amy introducing a lady that was almost the replica of Amy but 20 years older
"Nice to meet you Mrs Fowler" said the girls together
"And to you, it's nice to be introduced to Amy's friends, I have heard a lot about you all"
"Mom come through to the kitchen, would you like a glass of champagne or something soft?
"Just a coke will do for now dear" replied Beryl
A few minutes later, Sheldon and Leonard arrived and more introductions were done, Beryl gave Sheldon the once over and declared him ok, Amy just smiled and made more drinks, soon more people arrived and Raj turned up with Stuart, his cousin Dale and some of the guys from the comic book store
"Hi Amy I hope you don't mind, but when they heard there was a party that I was going to close the shop for, they all wanted to come" said Stuart kissing her cheek and handing over a small bunch of flowers
"Stuart its fine and thank you" replied Amy letting them and then turning to see Sheldon watching what was going on, he looked like he was seething at Stuart kissing her cheek but Amy just shrugged and went to the bar to make drinks
Soon everybody was there and Penny had already started on the BBQ food, the guys had gravitated to the games room downstairs leaving the girls upstairs and hanging around by the pool drinking wine and champagne or coke in Amy's case
"Amy how exactly did you find this house? Asked Penny
"When I was in Saudi, once I had made my decision I did a search, made my mom take her laptop and show me on Skype as she went around the house and I chose that way, best decision I have ever made" replied Amy smiling at her friend
"Maybe that will be Leonard and I soon, the apartment is too small for two people but I want to get working full time again before that happens" replied Penny
"Mrs Fowler, what do you work as? Asked Emily
"Call me Beryl please, I am in charge of all the call handlers at Pasadena council and have been for over 20 years" replied Beryl
"Mom I am going to Saudi for Christmas, if you wanted to come then I am sure Faisal wouldn't mind you coming as well, though they don't celebrate Christmas in their culture and religion" said Amy as she could hear noise behind her and the guys joining them
"Amy I will think about it, you know I always spend it with Aunt Flora and I wouldn't want to let her down" replied Beryl
"Not a problem, is anybody going to jump in the pool and have a swim? Asked Amy
"We will if you will" said Penny bringing over the last of the BBQ food and putting it on the table
"Oh Amy before you do that, I have something for you, Howard go to the car and get it please" said Bernadette
Howard did as he was told and took Leonard with him and they returned with a giant cake shaped like a house for Amy and some candles on it
"This is for you, I made it and as a house warming present" said Bernadette giving Amy a hug
"Thank you, I think this calls for a toast, let me get the champagne" said Amy going back inside the house, Sheldon followed her to help and within a few minutes they had poured out champagne for everybody
"Thanks to everybody that has come today and for all of your support in this venture, enjoy" said Amy raising her glass, she glanced at Sheldon who was fiddling with his phone and took a sip of her drink
"Now can we go in the pool? Asked Penny
"Go ahead, enjoy" laughed Amy stripping off her clothes to reveal a swimming costume and jumping in with Penny and Bernadette, Stuart and Dale having been told of the pool party had swimming shorts and also jumped in
"You ok buddy? Asked Leonard noticing how annoyed Sheldon was looking annoyed at Stuart swimming so close to Amy
"I will be" replied Sheldon
He went back inside and then emerged in just a pair of swimming shorts, he tentatively climbed into the pool and then Amy noticed he was in and she swam towards him and surprised him with a kiss before swimming off again, the little party went on quite late and eventually after midnight when Amy let off fireworks to celebrate moving into the new house, the only people still left were Leonard, Penny and Sheldon, Leonard was driving so apart from the one glass of champagne hadn't drunk anything but soft drinks
"I think I will get Penny home now" said Leonard noticing Penny had fallen asleep
"If you like but she can always stay here until the morning, you too if you like" replied Amy
"If you are sure"
"Of course, I can lend you a nightie for her?
"I think I will just take her to the spare room and thanks again" said Leonard encouraging Penny to get up and leading her to the middle bedroom
Amy was going to start tidying up but couldn't face it and after pouring herself and Sheldon another drink flopped back down on the sofa, this time when Sheldon put his arm around her, she didn't pull away
"This is nice, just you and me, you can sleep in the other spare room" commented Amy turning to look at him
"Thanks and I know you don't believe me but I am sorry for upsetting you" said Sheldon
"Sshh" said Amy silencing him by placing her finger over his mouth
Sheldon gave her a questioning look and she got up and went to the CD player and put some music on, she reached for Sheldon to stand up who after making a face reluctantly did so
"Lets dance" said Amy happily
"Do I have a choice? Asked Sheldon grumpily but happy that Amy appeared to be in a better mood with him
"Nope" laughed Amy leaning up to kiss him as the music filled the room
