Amy's first week back at work proved to be very busy, she had a series of meetings lined up and also needed to catch up with a backlog of brain dissections she had been left, the fundraising event that Siebert had mentioned was also taking place on Saturday and with Faisal arriving on Wednesday afternoon, it meant that Sheldon and Amy had to cancel their planned date night as Faisal requested to have dinner at the Four Seasons with them, President Siebert and Amy's immediate boss Dr Davies who was head of Neurobiology, on Thursday Amy was the designated person to show Faisal around the University, he also sat in on a private presentation she did
Apart from Wednesday night, Sheldon barely saw Amy until Friday night when the group gathered at Amy's house for vintage video games and Chinese food, Sheldon had wanted to cancel but Amy insisted on holding it at her place, he travelled home with her and complained about how little he had seen of her
"Sheldon, why are you complaining? You spent a month without me and we were fine, I am busy at work and it will be like that for a while" said Amy dumping her bags in the kitchen
"Because we have this benefit tomorrow as well and it will be next Wednesday until we are alone again" replied Sheldon folding his arms and pouting at her
"Well get used to it because as I said it will be like that for a while" replied Amy brushing past him to get to the fridge
Sheldon grabbed her arm and pulled her close for a cuddle, Amy relaxed into the cuddle for a moment and they shared a moment of eye coitus before kissing, the kiss however was interrupted by a rapping on the front door signalling the arrival of their friends
"Darn it, pretend we are not in" moaned Sheldon
"Don't be silly, I want to see everybody" replied Amy extracting herself from him, she could feel how much he wanted her but still went to the door
"Hi Ames, how's it going" said Penny passing her a bottle of wine
"Thanks bestie, busy you know, Hi Leonard" replied Amy letting them in
"Oh we know, we haven't seen you all week remember" replied Penny following Amy to the lounge where Sheldon was still standing and glaring at the arrivals
"Don't mind Sheldon, he's just annoyed that he can't have me alone" commented Amy smiling at him
"Somebody's keen" replied Penny laughing at him
"So bestie what are you wearing to this event tomorrow? Asked Amy changing the subject
"Leonard informs me that it's a formal occasion, so I went shopping for a suit, are partners usually allowed to go to these things? Asked Penny as more door knocking signalled the arrival of the others
"No its usually Caltech staff only but Siebert decided that having partners there was a good idea, I am not sure why" replied Leonard
Amy came back with Howard, Bernadette, Raj and Emily, the group exchanged hellos and got down to eating and chatting about their various weeks
"So Amy tell us about your first week back, any studies planned? Asked Bernadette
"Well there is one study which I have got approval for but it won't start until mid October and I am excited about it" replied Amy
"What is it? Asked Raj
"It's a dual study involving humans and monkeys, you remember the visual stimuli study I did last year, well we are just expanding it, I am planning to run it from October to December, with a break and then again from January to March and anybody can join in, it will be interesting to see the different results" replied Amy
"So the human and the monkey will be in the same room? Asked Penny
"Yes, it's essential for the study to work properly and to analyze the results" replied Amy
"How do people sign up? Asked Sheldon
"We advertise in the usual places like medical journals and we have contact lists for people willing to take part in studies" replied Amy
"Maybe I should sign up" suggested Sheldon
"Why? Asked Amy surprised at this
"Because then I might actually see you" moaned Sheldon stabbing his fork violently into his rice
"Sheldon do you want to go home? Asked Amy annoyed at him
"No, why would you say that?
"Because you are beginning to annoy me again, I support your work so perhaps you can support me" replied Amy
Amy showed just how annoyed she was by moving from the couch next to him to the vacant armchair, Sheldon looked at her in surprise and decided to shut up, the guys then took their food down to the games room instead
"Ames, aren't you being a little hard on Sheldon? Asked Penny
"No, he needs to know that I can't just stop everything for him" replied Amy taking a long sip of juice
"He's not asking you to do that, just find time for him" replied Penny
"I will when I am less busy, hold on a moment"
Amy left the room and called Sheldon and they could be heard having a muttered conversation in Amy's bedroom before coming back out and Amy rejoined the girls
"Well? Asked Bernadette curious
"We are spending Sunday together" replied Amy
"See that wasn't hard was it" asked Penny
"Its not that, its just Sunday I was going to have as a rest day as I wont get another one until the following weekend and one of those I will be spending with my mother" replied Amy
After the girls had eaten, they joined the boys downstairs and joined in the games and generally having fun, everybody but Sheldon left around 11pm and Amy had gone to get changed while Sheldon made them both some hot milk, Amy after changing into her nightgown went back into the lounge and flopped on to the couch exhausted, Sheldon joined her and they shared a cuddle
"I've missed you Amy and not just this week but the last 4 months have been harder than I thought they would be" said Sheldon as he twirled Amyls hair
"Same here Sheldon" replied Amy turning to face him
Sheldon pulled Amy closer to him and Amy reached one hand around his neck and pulled his head closer to hers and they kissed hungrily, soon their hands were all over each other, Sheldon gently pushed Amy down onto her back on the couch all the while they continued to kiss, he mounted her and ground his erection against her, Sheldon was enjoying himself thoroughly when he felt Amy pushing him back
"What's wrong?
"We are going to fast, we don't need to rush" replied Amy manoeuvring herself back into a sitting position
"Amy you can't leave me in this state, didn't you enjoy that? Sheldon indicated his erection poking through the fabric of his trousers
"Yes of course but you are suddenly rushing ahead of yourself, 4 months ago you wanted scheduled date night kissing only and here you are all over me"
"I thought that would be what you wanted? Replied Sheldon
"Of course but not tonight Sheldon, I am tired after a busy week, I will see you in the morning"
Amy kissed him tenderly and then went off to her room with her milk leaving Sheldon sitting on the couch in astonishment that Amy had gone to bed, he was aroused beyond belief and just wanted some fun time with Amy, huffing he went off to the room that was unofficially his and got changed
Amy was the first up the next morning, she was in the kitchen making tea when Sheldon emerged dressed in only t-shirt and pyjama bottoms, he cuddled her from behind as she busied herself
"Morning Amy, you smell lovely" commented Sheldon as he kissed her neck
"Thanks, that will be my vanilla body cream" replied Amy
Sheldon turned Amy around so she was facing him and able to feel his erection against her and pressed her up against the side, he pushed her hair out of her face and kissed her hard on the lips and grabbed her waist for support and the two of them kissed and cuddled for a few minutes, both of them making little moaning noises of appreciation
"That's what I wanted to do last night" said Sheldon into Amy's ear
"I bet, what do you want for breakfast?
"You" replied Sheldon ignoring the boiling kettle and leading Amy to the couch
"Sheldon" started Amy
"If you say you want to stop then we will but I just want to enjoy my girlfriend" said Sheldon as they cuddled on the couch
"We have all day tomorrow to enjoy each other and also we are going to discuss intimacy, it's about time seeing as you have become a horndog all of a sudden" replied Amy
"As I said last night, I thought this was what you wanted?
"It is but when you are used to getting pretty much nothing from your partner, it will take time to suddenly be pawed at" replied Amy
"Fine, I will make breakfast, you go and get dressed" said Sheldon removing his arm from Amy's shoulders and getting up
Amy shrugged and went off to shower, after breakfast she drove Sheldon back to Los Robles so he could collect his laundry and do it at her house as planned, then they both got ready to go to the hotel where the fund raising event was going to be, a car service would be arriving to pick them up and drop them home, both Amy and Sheldon were dressed up in suits for the event
Much later they arrived at the hotel where the event was being held, Siebert greeted the group upon arrival and also gave a warning to Leonard
"I should let you know that Mrs Latham is here tonight, she was invited and has pledged to donate again"
"Crap, I don't have to sleep with her again do I? Asked Leonard as Penny glared at him
"No of course not, she has already said she will donate, she is planning to donate to UCLA as well"
"I see, well I had better go say hello to her, come on Penny" Leonard took Penny's hand and then walked into the room
"Amy" said a voice behind her
"Faisal, good to see you again" replied Amy as Faisal kissed her hands and then her cheeks
"You as well and Sheldon of course, are you going to escort me into the room? Asked Faisal holding his arm out for Amy to take
"Of course, my two favourite men, how could I resist" replied Amy smiling at him and Sheldon and taking both their arms walked into the room
Once everybody arrived, Siebert made a speech and all of the Doctors that had been invited to the event, started to circulate the room and speak to potential donors, Sheldon and Amy already having a donor didn't need to do as much but they wanted more for their University so did so anyway, this seemed to impress Faisal and he took them aside for a chat
"President Siebert, as well as funding Amy and Sheldon, there is a proposal I wish to give you"
"Go ahead? Replied Siebert
"I will happily donate to your university for anything you need, it all helps in the long run"
"Thank you but I am guessing there is a condition attached? Asked Siebert
"Of course, perhaps we can do a student exchange, we take a small selection of your students and one or two doctors deserving of a trip to Saudi to study and work for maybe a month and we do the same for you"
"I like that idea, I will have to discuss it with my board of course" replied Siebert as Amy nodded with approval
"You do that, I have to go but I will be in touch on Monday, Amy as always it's been a delight" said Faisal taking her hand and kissing it again
"Can I walk you to your car? Asked Amy
"No it's ok, I will see you on Monday Amy" Faisal then turned and left
"I think you should consider his idea a lot, it benefited me being in another country to work, even if it's only a few weeks" said Amy taking a canapé from a passing waiter
"Thank you Dr Fowler, I think the board will like this" Siebert spotted somebody who wanted to talk and went off leaving Amy and Sheldon alone
"I've had enough of this tonight, can we go now? Whined Sheldon
"I was going to say no but it looks like Leonard and Penny are ready to go as well" replied Amy noticing that Leonard was having his ear talked off by Mrs Latham with Penny standing by awkwardly
"Let's go then" said Sheldon indicating to Leonard and Penny to leave, they had spent enough time at the event already
The car ride home was quick and it dropped Leonard and Penny home first before going on to Amy's house, she was exhausted after the event and busy week and wanted to go to bed but Sheldon had other ideas, he cleared his throat noisily before speaking
"I know you said we would discuss intimacy tomorrow but I propose an experiment" suggested Sheldon as Amy made them both some tea
"What's the experiment? Asked Amy
She turned round from making the tea and found Sheldon right behind her, he bent down to kiss her hungrily and then spoke
"I want to spend the night in bed with you" said Sheldon giving her an intense bout of eye coitus, Amy however looked at him astonished at the request
