Chapter 37: Hope? I Love It
Gohan smiled at me for the last time.
"I love you Tania." Was his last words as his breathing finally ceased. His eyes closed and I felt his life force completely disappear.
"Gohan? No, please..." I cried as I tried to wake him up. "Gohan! Don't leave me here by myself! GOHAN!"
There was no response. The tears that was already flowing down my face intensified. My heart snapped in two as I stared at his lifeless body. I wrapped my arms around him and sobbed heavily on him. "G-Gohan! N-No... I love you, please... Please don't go .. Come back... I'll do anything.."
I could feel all of the Z fighters sadness. Each one of their heartaches had transferred into me. My vision became blurry and I felt like I was in a dream. This just couldn't be happening to me. First my parents then Gohan...
Krillin, Trunks, Piccolo and Goku stood in their places watching me as I cry and cry even more. Krillin cover his face with his arm. Trunks also did the same while Piccolo and Goku looked down at the ground with complete devastation written on their faces. Vegeta also looked a bit sadden, but not as sadden as the others and myself.
Suddenly, the sword I had carried with me had began to draw itself out of its sheathe and into the air. It glowed a bright red as it floated. The next thing I knew, my body began to glow a hot pink. I felt as my body began to heal miraculously. However my strength had left me.
Within a few seconds, everyone had been glowing into different colors. Goku's was red, Piccolo's was green, Vegeta's was sky blue, Trunks's was yellow and Krillin's was orange.
"What is this?!" Eternal asks in frustration as she witnessed each one of us heal.
"My injuries are going away." Trunks announces as his body began to heal.
"Mine too." Krillin says.
"This is strange." Goku commented while healing. "I can feel my power leaving me into that sword. It's like its being absorbed or something."
Goku then dropped out of his super saiyan three state.
"I see what you mean Kakarot..." Vegeta replies. "My strength is leaving me also."
"There may be a purpose to why all of this is happening." Piccolo spoke.
Once our energy was drained from us, the strange lights had disappeared and the sword then pointed its sharp end at Gohan. It released a dark blue light. Seconds after it lighted on the deceased saiyan, a being had stepped out of Gohan's body.
He turned to look at me and grinned. "Thanks to you and all your friends, I have the strength to beat Eternal once and for all and save this world." The man then gently took Gohan off of me and offered me his hand. I took it.
I examined his face and widened my eyes. He's the EXACT guy from my strange dream!
"Thornkin..." I say to myself. He gave me a thumbs up and turned to look at Eternal straight in the eyes who looked as though she had just seen a ghost or something. The sword that was floating in the sky then slowly descended and swiftly placed itself in Thornkin's grip.
"Long time no see, Eternal."
There was a long silence as the wind brushed past everyones hair. Tears began to flow down Eternal's cheeks as she looked at her supposed dead lover standing right in plain sight.
"T-Thornkin?" She questioned the handsome male saiyan as he held onto the blade. His eyes softened while staying fierce at the same time. The sword stood pointing right at the goddess. Everyone except Eternal, Thornkin, Piccolo and I was confused at what was taking place.
"Who's that?" Krillin asked everyone turning his head to look at us. "Please don't tell me this guy is another enemy?!"
"Relax, this one is on our side." Piccolo answers with confidence.
"How do you know for sure?" Trunks asks beginning to get into a stance even though his energy was completely transferred to Thornkin's sword.
"I'm with Piccolo on this one guys!" Goku exclaimed with a bright smile.
"Argh Kakarot, this is just like you!" Vegeta yelled before he walked his way over to Goku and tug tightly on his orange gi. "Always assuming that everyone is a good guy! Look at us for crying out loud! Our energy is completely gone! We're completely useless on this battleground!"
Goku just looked down with an innocent look at the prince while rubbing the back of his head. "Aw come on Vegeta, you know as well as I do that the energy this guy emits is pure. Besides, I just got wished back, cut me some slack, would ya?"
Vegeta just growled and tightened his grip. "AND WHAT IF YOU GOT WISHED BACK?! DID YOU EVER THINK THAT MAYBE AFTER THIS THORNKIN KILLS ETERNAL THAT HE MIGHT COME AFTER US NEXT?!"
"No..." Goku replies. "I haven't thought of that."
"Vegeta, he's on our side!" I say loud enough so he could hear. The older saiyan gave me a cold glare. I sighed. "Just trust me, I know who he is."
Finally, Thornkin spoke. "I promise you, I am only here for the good of this world."
The saiyan prince just grunted then released Gohan's dad, crossing his arms and giving us an impatient look.
"So, you're really willing to kill me in order to save this planet, huh?" Eternal questions Thornkin as she began to stroll in his direction. Thornkin nodded his head.
The tail less female just kept on walking before she stopped right in front of her opponent. "It's funny... You used to say that I meant more to you than anything. Why would you harm me then?"
Thornkin smirked. "Hmph, your not even the woman that I fell in love with anymore." He then dropped an arm to his side and continued to point the swords sharp end at Eternal. "The other Eternal I knew is long gone! Now i'm just looking at a careless murderer!"
The woman just smirked evily then attempted to throw a jab at Thornkin who just grabbed her fist. Everyone stared in awe as he then kicked her in the stomach, sending her into a plateau Since Eternal was already wounded from our fight from earlier she just remained stuck. Thornkin rose in the air and gracefully blasted a pure white light from his sword at Eternal.
She screamed as the light penetrated her. Seconds later, there was an explosion as her remains became nothing but debris.
"It's finished." Thornkin announced as he slowly descended back to the ground. I smiled as the sky returned to its original color. The dark cloud had became white again and the rain stopped.
"I-Its really over you say?" Asked Krillin as he looked at Thornkin with a hopeful expression. The victorious saiyan nodded and Krillin immediately began jumping in the air.
"YAHOO!" He screamed in great joy. ""WE DID IT!"
Everyone was smiling as we now knew that we were safe once more. I breathed out a sigh of relief and kept smiling.
"Gohan, did you hear that we w-" I then turned around to see his body still just laying lifeless on ground. Without saying a word, I walked over to it and dropped down on my knees then lifted his head off the ground and snuggled it close to my heart. A fresh set of tears released from its chambers as I continued to have flashbacks from earlier.
Everyone was still celebrating but then stopped when they heard a familiar cry. Goku came over to me first and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, don't cry Tania." He says with sadness filling his voice. "We can just wish Gohan back with the dragonballs."
I still continued to cry.
Soon, the rest followed Goku and stared sympathetically at me. They didn't say a word as they already heard that Goku told me that we could still wish him back.
"If it wasn't for me, he would still be here!" I confess.
"It wasn't your fault..." Thornkin spoke. "This was all suppose to happen."
My crying came to a holt and I looked up at him. "This was all suppose to happen? What are you saying?"
"There was a prophecy written back a very long time ago, that a half saiyan child was to defeat an evil powerful android that came to destroy everything and everyone. No one knew exactly why, but sometime after this, it was written that a young girl was to come into this demi saiyan's life and serve a purpose to this world." Thornkin explains. "Now I know that you're that girl. The girl who was destined for great things."
"Me?" I ask confused.
He nodded. "Yes you. Anyways, the prophecy continued on saying that the girl and demi saiyan was to be great heroes along with your friends. However, the same enemy that troubled you was suppose to once again cause chaos worldwide with another saiyan. That other saiyan was Eternal unfortunately. It was then written that Eternal would attempt to erase the girl's memory in order to have her wreak havoc along with her thus killing everyone on the planet including the demi saiyan. Fortunately like the prophecy said, the half saiyan would seek out his lost friend and duel her in a battle, coming out as the victor."
"Hold on, so basically everything that was happening was predicted in a prophecy?" Trunks asked. Thornkin nodded.
"So then what did it say about Cell's death?" Questioned Gohan's father.
Thornkin just looked at him and spoke, "The battle between Cell and Gohan was meant to end the way it did. With you all defeating him in your most powerful attacks and you being wished back to life with the dragonballs. Gohan is just asleep right now. He isn't technically dead..."
Everyone's eyes widened in shock. My heart was beginning to be filled with overwhelming joy.
"Gohan... he's not dead? But I can't feel his life force and his heart isn't even beating." I respond.
Thornkin kneeled down next to me and reached out to Gohan. "I needed him to be in a deep coma so that I would be able to defeat Eternal for good."
"So that's the reason why you stepped out of his body.." Piccolo muttered to himself. "He's your reincarnation I take it then."
"Yes he is." Thornkin answered with a smile. "The only reason why he was able to pull out Wisheater was because he had my soul lying deep within him. Really, the sword was meant for Tania, but she stil had just a tiny bit of evil left in her from Eternal. But now I can sense that her heart is completely cured of impurity."
Thornkin picked up his blade and handed it to me. "I believe this is yours."
I held onto its grip and the aura of the sword turn to a shiny bright pink.
"The sword didn't reject her!" Vegeta announced with shock. Goku stood there smiling at me as I swung the sword around with difficulty.
"Hey, i'm not a toy!"
With a loud scream I dropped the sword. "D-Did that thing just s-speak to me?!"
Everyone except for Thornkin and I had fell to the ground.
"Tania right? That's not very nice for you to drop me like that you know! Now i'm all dirty." The sword spoke again in a deep voice.
"Woah, it really did s-speak!" Krillin confirmed as he got up.
"Even my sword couldn't do that! Wow!" Trunks commented as he tried to lift Wisheater off the ground.
"Hands off!" It shouted as It electrocuted Trunks's hand. The saiyan pulled back after yelling "Ow!"
"Now that's just ridiculous!" Vegeta shouted as he walked up to the sword still on the ground. "How can a sword speak?! That's not even possible!"
"Well you hear the words coming out of my grip don't you?!" Wisheater responded as the top part of its grip moved up and down. Vegeta just sighed heavily and kept to himself.
"I think its pretty funny." Goku laughed. "You don't see that everyday, huh Vegeta?"
Vegeta glanced at Goku and muttered. "What a clown."
Piccolo decided not to say anything and Thornkin just began to laugh as he lifted Wisheater off the ground. "Aww don't be rude to them Wisheater, they're really good people, trust me."
"Don't seem like it to me." He says with slight irritation hinted in his tone. "Just hand me over to my master already!"
"Wait, so how can it tell who's wielding him? It can't see can it?" I ask in complete curiosity.
Thornkin laughed. "Of course Wisheater can't see. It can tell by the movement of your blood and by your life force."
"Makes sense I guess." I reply while rubbing the back of my head. Thornkin smiled once again and handed Wisheater over to me.
"Thank you." The sword says happily. "This is my new master."
I then smiled as I continued to hold Wisheater in one hand while still holding Gohan up with my other arm.
"I feel like we're gonna make a great team." I express with a warm smile.
"Well, now that everything is settled, its time that I return back into Gohan. Otherwise, the kid won't be able to wake up." Thornkin said while stretching. "Man, that kid has a kind heart. Really warm and full of spirit!"
"He is Goku's son after all." Piccolo comments with a small smile knowing that his longtime friend will be awake anytime soon.
Soon Thornkin's body began to disappear at a steady pace toe to head. "Just so you guys know, after I settle back into Gohan, it'll be about two weeks until he regains consciousness again. But hey, make sure you don't tell him about me, it might freak him out."
His legs disappeared and the light kept going further up.
"We won't tell him." Goku promises. "Thanks so much for your help, we probably wouldn't have been able to defeat Eternal if it wasn't for you."
"Your welcome, it was just destiny playing her role. Hey Wisheater, behave for me alright buddy? Be kind to Gohan when he awakens and please try to not electrocute anyone really badly. You can really hurt them."
The sword slid out of my grip and floated in front of Thornkin. "I'll try to behave to the boy, but no promises about not electrocuting anyone."
Thornkin laughed. "Well then alright. Just promise that you'll keep Tania safe for me. I can feel that Gohan very much cares for her."
"That... I'll do." Wisheater promised.
"Thank you and so long my friend." Was Thornkin's last words as the light reached the end of his head then turned his entire body into a pure sparkly blue light that then went into Gohan's body.
"Farewell Thornkin."
Gohan raised off the ground as his entire body lighted up then gently layed back down on my lap. The wounds he suffered disappeared completely and I can feel that his life force was coming back.
"No way!" I shouted with extreme happiness as I saw the demi saiyan breathing heavily. "He's really alive! Gohan's alive!"
Everyone began to cheer. "YES! ALRIGHT!"
He began to stir as his eyes just slightly opened enough to look at me.
"T-Tania? Is t-that you?" He asks with a very exhausted voice.
Tears fell from my eyes as my heart jumped with pure joy. "Y-Yes it's me... Hi, how are you?"
He looked deeply into my eyes. "I'm really tired. I need rest..."
With that, his eyes once again closed.
"Gohan wait, stay awake." I begged, but in vain. The boy i'm in love with had fallen asleep so peacefully. I smiled as I ran my fingers through his hair. You really scared me Gohan... I really thought I lost you... I'm just so glad you're alive... I really love you.
"The dragon!" Trunks shouted. "We completely forgot about Shenron!"
"You guys go ahead and wish for everyone who was killed by Cell, and Eternal to return back to life, while Tania, and I head to Roshi's and put Gohan to bed."
"Goku, there's something I got to tell you. I killed Tien and Yamcha... I'm so sorry." I apologized.
"No worries. We can still wish them back."
"Goku..." Krillin calls out. Goku just looked at him. "Yeah?"
Tears fell from the bald man's eyes as he rushed over to Goku and hugged him. "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH BUDDY!"
Goku laughed as he and Krillin had their reunion. "Stop it Krillin, your hurting me!"
Trunks, Piccolo and I just stood there smiling. Vegeta didn't have any expression on his face whatsoever.
After the reunion, Goku picked Gohan up and him and I headed back to Roshi's.
The world is finally safe, I can't wait to talk to Gohan again!
