Before Sheldon and Amy left for Texas, they went out for dinner with their friends as they wouldn't be back until New Years Eve, the group noticed the difference in the affection between the two and Penny wasted no time in pulling Amy aside to ask when they went to the bar to get drinks
"You two have had sex haven't you?
"Why do you say that?
"Because Sheldon is no longer looking uptight, he is all over you and you are glowing" replied Penny
"Ok you are right, its brilliant and I am so glad we waited"
"Are you doing it every night? Enquired Penny again
"Penny! That's a bit too much questions now, but I will say we are the happiest we have been and that's saying something after the year we have had" replied Amy going back to their table
The next day was Christmas Eve and Amy and Sheldon landed at Houston Airport just after 2pm, Amy collected the hire car and drove the short distance to Mary's house, when they arrived Mary was already waiting outside the house with a small boy and another lady who Amy assumed to be Missy
"Is that your nephew? Asked Amy as they pulled up
"Yes that's Max, he's just over a year old now" replied Sheldon as they got out of the car and were engulfed in hugs from Mary and Missy
"Well Amy, its good to finally meet you" said Missy linking her arm through hers and leading her into the house while Sheldon collected the luggage
While Amy and Sheldon settled into the lounge, Mary made them both some tea and offered them sandwiches, Sheldon's Meemaw had also just arrived as well and greeted her grandson with a hug and another for Amy
"Now then, you can tell me all your news" said Mary coming in with the tea
"Well you know that Amy and I are living together" replied Sheldon
"Are you sinning Shelley? Asked Mary which Sheldon expected and had agreed with Amy the answer to
"Yes mom but we don't call it sinning, we are in love" replied Sheldon making Mary look at him in surprise
"In love? 6 months ago you did a runner on here, what's changed for that to happen? Queried Mary
"Amy has a lot of patience and I had to work hard to regain her trust in me and we worked things out" replied Sheldon
"I see, well I am not happy about the sleeping together and I would prefer not to put you together while you are here" said Mary
"Don't worry kids, you can always stay with me" commented Meemaw
"We can? Thanks Meemaw" replied Sheldon giving his grandmother another hug
"Now wait a minute, I never said you couldn't share and it's been so long since we all saw you, you can share but there will be no funny business in my house" said Mary interrupting
"Thank you mother, you know we are leaving on the morning of New Years Eve? We want to celebrate the New Year with our friends"
"Yes we know and that's fine" replied Mary
Max chose that moment to go and sit on Amy's lap, he wrapped his arms around her and Amy held on to him as he rested his head against her chest
"Hello you, I am your uncles girlfriend Amy" said Amy
Max didn't reply but continued to cuddle Amy much to Missy's delight, she took a few pictures and sent them off to Penny to show
"Now then Sheldon you are coming to evening mass tonight" said Mary confidently
"I am? Mother I really don't want to"
"Have you been to church this year?
"No"
"Then you are coming, Amy are you joining us?
"Sure, I am not much of a believer though"
"It's fine, I will leave you to go upstairs and sort your luggage out for now" said Mary
"Are we in my old room? Asked Sheldon
"Yes" replied Mary
Sheldon took Amy's hand and collected their luggage and walked up the stairs together and after locking the door collapsed giggling onto the bed together
"I am surprised she agreed to us sharing so readily" said Sheldon as he kissed Amy
"Me too, it will be hard to resist you though"
"Same for me, but it's only for 5 days" replied Sheldon as he shifted his weight and moved on top of her
"What are you doing, your mom could come up any moment"
"The door is locked and I need to be with you" replied Sheldon giving her another kiss and holding her tightly
"I can tell" replied Amy grinning at him as his erection pressed against her
"We better unpack" said Sheldon reluctantly climbing off her a few minutes later
Several hours later they had been to church, Sheldon complained the whole time and decided to take Amy for a walk around the area when they returned and when they arrived back, Mary announced that breakfast would be served at 9am the next morning and that George, Missy her husband Marty and baby Max would be joining them and staying all day
The next day was one Sheldon wasn't looking forward to, although he was pleased with the gift he had found for Amy, he had more back home in Pasadena but wanted a special one just for Amy now, after a long drawn out Christmas dinner, they were finally able to exchange presents, Sheldon passed Amy a box which she opened eagerly and then beamed with delight
"Oh Sheldon this is beautiful" said Amy taking the necklace out which had a monkey and a koala holding hands together
"I wanted to put our favourite animals together" replied Sheldon as Amy gave him a hug and a kiss
"Here is yours" said Amy passing over an envelope which Sheldon ripped open eagerly
"You adopted a koala for me?
"Oh yes and you can see that you can visit him anytime" replied Amy
"Oh aint that sweet" commented Mary
"There is one other thing" added Amy passing another envelope which contained tickets
"Oh I have never been there" exclaimed Sheldon happily as Amy had given him tickets to Griffith Park Train Town in Los Angeles
"I know, I asked Leonard and he confirmed"
"Are you coming with me?
"Of course"
"Thank you Amy, I love you for this" replied Sheldon giving her a hug
"So what's on the agenda for next year? Asked Mary to the couple
"How do you mean? Asked Sheldon confused
"Well this year you survived Sheldon running off, Amy spending three months in Saudi and a living together trial that was successful, surely the next step is marriage?
"Um, Amy and I have not talked about that yet" replied Sheldon looking annoyed at his mother
"Well why not?
"Because we are still rebuilding our relationship and taking one step at a time, don't harass me mother" replied Sheldon
"Well you don't want to waste time, Amy might be patience but she will want to get married at some point" started Mary before Amy stepped in
"Mary its fine, Sheldon and I have not spoken of marriage, we are both very happy with where we are for now and we are in no rush to do that"
Sheldon reacted by taking Amy's hand, collecting the car keys and leading her out of the house to the car and making Amy drive
"Where are we going?
"I don't care, anywhere for now" replied Sheldon as Mary came rushing out of the house to see Amy drive off
"You don't have to propose just because it's what your mother wants Sheldon, I know we are happy and that's what matters"
"Thank you Amy, sometimes my mother is too much, take the next left and follow the road and I will give you more directions" replied Sheldon
They eventually turned up at a car park which was empty, Amy sat quietly while Sheldon tried to calm down
"Come in the back with me Amy" said Sheldon
Sheldon scrambled into the back seats and waiting for Amy to join him, he cuddled her close to him and gave her a kiss
"I love you Amy, I am sorry for my mother's words"
"Sheldon its fine and I love you too"
They spent some time kissing and cuddling in the back seat before returning to the house where Mary was both annoyed and apologetic for upsetting them, no more was said about marriage while they stayed, Sheldon and Amy even managed to have coitus while the house was empty which made them very excited and on New Years Eve they left Texas to return to Pasadena and after unpacking went straight to Leonard and Penny's who were holding a New Years Eve party
"Welcome back" said Penny on greeting them
"Thank you" replied Amy
"Did you get a lot of questions about the state of your relationship?
"Oh yes, we worked it out though"
"Good, did Mary even let you share a bed?
"Oh yes and that was after Meemaw offered to have us stay if she refused to allow us to share"
The party went on until way after midnight which was greeted by party poppers and loud cheers, Amy and Sheldon were sitting in the garden kissing when their immediate friends joined them, they were the only ones left
"2014 was quite eventful for us all really and Raj found Emily who is now one of our closest friends" commented Penny pouring more champagne for everybody
"Agreed and 2015 will be great for you and Leonard" replied Amy smiling at her bestie and Raj who had Emily sitting on his lap
"Of course but I speak on behalf of all us that we are all happy that you and Sheldon stayed together after all that happened"
"So we are" replied Amy giving Sheldon a kiss and he held her tightly
"We believe we have something worth saving" said Sheldon
"Well then, here's to a trouble free 2015" announced Amy raising her glass to Sheldon and her friends
