Chapter 6: "Distance...still"
"Ms. Gorilla, We have arrived." a solemn voice called out.
I opened my eyes slowly, "Were here already? George, Could you please wake up the other men?"
He nodded and went off.
I pulled myself up tying my messy blonde hair into a ponytail, I grab my black jacket and bag.
"Are you all set, ?" George asked, The other men in black behind him already in line.
Nodding, I fix my neck-tie. "Damn I hate wearing these clothes" I mumbled as I stepped out of the airplane. The other men lined beside me as we walked towards the airport.
I smiled at the sight before me, "I'm finally back in Japan." Tucking a stray hair, We walked inside the airport. It's been two years or so, I'm glad to be back.
There I saw my father who looked like he was about to break down.
"Papa!" I ran up to him and hugged him tightly.
"Wow You've grown! You look more beautiful than last time. Don't worry the issue has been resolved, They really gave us a hard time. But anyways, It's all cleared up." He smiled, Hugging me back.
I let go of him and saw papa's men-those I've been with before crying with snot's on their noses.
"Young Miss!" And they glomped me. "He-hey I can't breath!" They stopped squishing me to the ground and pulled me up. I looked at the man man behind them. It was Claude.
"Young miss, All-"
"No thanks." I walked away and ignored him,chuckling at his reaction, I was led to the car with papa.
I went inside and looked at the window."So did things change?...you know, when I left?"
He cleared his throat and placed his hand on his forehead."Ever since you left...,War almost broke out."
I ? But why? "Anyways, We'll discuss it later since we're having a meeting at Ichijou-kuns house. so for now, Let's not talk about that."
"Wait what!? Meeting!?" I frantically moved around the car." No I am not going there!"
"Chitoge. This is important, It has everybody's life on the line. If the agreement is not signed, War would break out soon. Do you want that!?" He went back to his seat, sighing heavily.
I calmed down." Alright, What agreement are we talking about?"
"We'll discuss about it later for now just sit tight."
Just then a car stopped in front of our car. A woman stepped out of the car and ran towards my side of the window. "Just wh- Tsugumi!?"
The girl outside our car was beautiful, she had longer dark blue hair adorned with the same blue ribbon. She was taller and looked more mature but she was still the same 'Tsugumi ' that I met. Heck, she was crying.
"Young Miss! Young Miss!" She exclaimed as she banged the car's window. Opening it playfully, she jumped in and squeezed me,
"Young miss I missed you so much! Why didn't you bring me with you!?"
I laughed. "Tsugumi, calm down. Here come sit with me, and also." I pointed the car in front of us. "Could you fix that too? We might be causing traffic."
"Yes! Wait." She went out and kicked the car towards the side walk. I sweatdropped."still the same brute that I knew." She quickly went inside again and closed the door.
"Young miss!" She hugged me again. Hugging her back."I missed you too Tsugumi." I smiled.
"You missed a lot of things...especially...the time when Raku...asked Kosaki to be his girlfriend." She looked away.
Oh...so Raku and...Kosaki chan are together now. I faked a smile."Well good for them..., Anything else?" I laughed. I felt my eyes water. No don't, Be strong Chitoge.
Just then The car stopped and Papa called us.
"Chitoge, Tsugumi where here!" He called out as he walked infront of the huge wooden gate.
Tsugumi stepped out and I didn't have the strength to leave the car. Tsugumi smiled at me meekly. "You can do it."
Carefully I stepped out of the car, I fixed my clothes. Making sure that I looked presentable. I looked around seeing our men guarding us as the huge gate opened.
It was as if time had stopped. Slowly I saw the familiar figure I had loved. The guy who made my heart pound.I felt it again, My stomach curled as I felt butterflies. I felt goosebumps, lastly. It was as if my heart was skipping a beat.
"Raku..." I called out softly. Just then I felt my heart break,the gates were opened widely and beside him was a more beautiful Onodera who held Raku's hand protectively yet still looked innocent.
Raku's men were charging at us, and our men were about to react."At Ease!" I exclaimed, My right arm extended to the side to stop them.
"But -" They stopped."You follow my commands." I looked at papa and he nodded.
"We came here to make the agreement." Papa said calmly, gazing at the two lovers.
Raku's father stepped out of the house smiling at our presence.
"How beautiful you've become, Kirisaki-san." He walked in front of us, Shaking my father's hand. "Come in,Come in."
We followed the path that we were being leaded to.
Raku was in front of us, He was taller. Taller than me, and he was more handsome. I could smell his scent, the familiar scent that made my heart ache.
After a few walks we were lead to the main building, As we took our seat's Raku's father dismissed their men and Papa dismissed ours even Onodera and Tsugumi were forced to leave.
In the middle of the wooden table was a contract. I gazed at it curiously, secretly looking at Raku afterwards.
"Kirisaki-san, I know you're aware of what is happening. So I hope you understand the decision we are forcing upon you two."
Wait what. 'You two?'
"We've decided to form an agreement where-in you two would be married."
"What!?" We exclaimed in unison.
"No this isn't right! You're aware that me and Kosaki are together!" Raku slammed his fist unto the table.
I sat there quietly. I watched as Raku was about to throw another fit when his father spoke up.
"She might get killed if we don't form an agreement! Do you want everybody to die!? Be practical Raku,This isn't a 's life is on the line!" Raku's father grabbed Raku's collar. "Don't be selfish son. You know the consequences."
He remained quiet. Controlling his temper.
"How long is this gonna last." I asked, getting the copy of the contract.
"As long as peace between both sides are restored." Papa answered shortly.
"Fine." I grabbed the pen in front of us and signed the contract. I passed the contract to Raku who looked so angry.
"The fuck's wrong with you!?" He was already standing.
I flinched. But remained calm.
"Chitoge! Answer me!?" He was already shaking my arms. I counter attacked him and now I was on top with my arm at his throat.
"Don't you get it!? People are gonna die! Don't be stupid. You...you've changed!" I let go of him.
He calmed down and took the pen. Quickly he scribbled on the contract and there. It was done.
"I'm sorry for forcing you two to do this..." Raku's father brought out a small box and handed it to Raku.
Raku took it forcibly and opened the small box. Inside was a beautiful ring with a diamond. Raku looked shocked.
I was shocked as well, Raku took my hand looking sad. Slowly he inserted the ring unto my finger.
He let go of my hand and walked away. Looking at papa and Raku's father, they already knew that this was what would happen..., they knew that they could not stop Raku from being hurt, So instead they remained quiet.
I watched him walk away, his back facing me. There it was, yet again.
I wanted to punch him, to beat him up until he returns to his normal ..., This isn't what I want. I collapsed and cried. The distance is still there...it's still the fact that we are legally engaged...Were still world's apart. Even now..., even now.
I'm so tired..., So tired of being strong. I slammed my fist unto to the wooden floor.
"I'm so tired..."
