Chapter 8: reunion in lightning city 8 and ten vs. the dragon of chaos
The jinchuriki arrived at a cliff overlooking a large city full of towers and sky scrapers, Ryu looked up to see the dark storm clouds over head, lightning struck several of the towers which seemed to absorb the lightning "what is this place?" Hex asked his dragon slaying companion.
"its known as Lightning city, because of the never ending lightning storm that hangs over the city" Ryu told him.
"looks dreary" Ally added.
"don't they ever need the sun?" Mace asked
"no becuase their city is powered by the lightning that strikes the towers" Everyone turned to Fu as she looked on at the city below.
"why are we here anyway?" Mace inquiered. Ryu walked closer to the ledge and requipped a pair of red and black armored boots.
"what are those for?" Ally asked.
"my secondary magic" Ryu told her.
"secondary?" Hex asked.
"for most slayer wizards aside from their slayer magic they have a secondary magic for me, its speed magic called the Accel step"
"i've heard of that magic, its tha magic that made the late Yusei Fudo one of the most famous wizards in the world" Ally said.
"so how do you know it?" Hex asked.
"easy, he's my dad, except mine is the sort of... primitive version, he could teleport, but I only have super speed" as the group took in the info Ryu stood on the edge of the cliff.
"you guys chill here, i'll be back soon" Ryu turned and sped off with the wind, the others watched as he reached the city in no time.
"so what do we do in the mean time?"
Lightning City-
Ryu raced through the streets of the city avoiding civilians and stray objects "now where did he live again?" Ryu shot up a wall and looked down from at the streets below, he scanned the city when he found a the largest sky scraper in the city which seemed to be emmiting a strong light from the top.
"of course" he sped down the building and raced to said tower.
A lone figure stood atop another tower and watched the dragon slayer "so thats the supposed "new" Dragon king hm? does'nt look like much, but looks can be decieving" a bolt of lightning struck the tower only for the figure to raise his and and divert the bolt to another tower.
"let us see who is stronger, Crimson or Chaos!" and with that the figure vanished in a flash of light.
Ryu arrived at the front of the sky scraper and walked in only to have five swords pointed at his head "who are you and what do you want!?" the soldiers asked. They wore grey camo pants, steel toed boots, armored vests and black head bands.
"whoa hey wait a sec guys, i'm here to see G-T, is he in?" Ryu waved his arms in from of him defensively. The soldiers looked at one another until a voice came from behind.
"sheath your swords men, he's a friend" everyone turned around to see a man no older then 16 with black shades, a pair of black steel toe boots, and camo flak jacket, silver camo pants, he had dark tan skin like everyone else in the city and pale blonde hair in a short pony tail, a black with red cloud head banned and black brass knuckle gloves.
"all you guys go on break, i'll tend to my bro" The soldiers left leaving Ryu and the teen alone.
"Yo G', sup, how ya been?" Ryu fist bumped his friend.
"been good Scales, been pretty boring since we busted the lightning colossus four years ago"
"same here, well almost, i'll tell you about that later, right now I need a favor" G-T, looked at his friend with a confused look as they entered the elevator leading to the top of the tower.
"it happened a year ago some guy who called himself the god king attacked me and accused me of stealing some gem" Ryu started. G-T crossed his arm in thought.
"what's up?" Ryu asked turning to his friend.
"what did he say about the gem?" G-T asked.
"he told me it was called Yggdrisal sementem I think" the elevator opened and they arrived in a large room at least as big as Fairy tail's guild hall filled with book shelves loaded with all kinds of books. a young girl came up to G-T and bowed.
"welcome back Guatemara-sama"
"no need for the formalities Anna, this is Ryu, my guest" Anna smiled at Ryu and bowed. Ryu scratched the back of his head and chuckled.
"Anna can you do something for me?" G-T asked.
"of course sir" Anna replied.
"can you find all the books on the topic of Yggdrisal sementem?"
"of course sir, I'll have them as soon as I can"
"thank you" Anna bowed and ran off to the book shelves.
"you think something of it G'?" Ryu asked, G-T shrugged.
"I know I've heard that name before I just can't put my finger on it"
"sir I found it!" the two turned as Anna ran up to them carrying...one book"
"a giant ass library, and you only have one book? even though it is pretty thick" Ryu looked at G-T who glared at the dragon slayer through his dark shades.
"no sass bro, we have books even the magic council doesn't got" Ryu rolled his eyes and smirked. The three brought the book over to a table and opened it G-T pointed his finger at the cover and spoke.
"show me Yggdrisal sementem" the book flashed a bright light as if to respond and flipped open, flipping through chapter after chapter until it reached a page showing a diamond like crystal at least the size of Ryu's hand.
"it says here that Yggdrisal sementem is one of the king gems" G-T read aloud.
"and those are?" Ryu asked, crossing his arms.
"a set of mythical and very powerful crystals that were said to power seven legendary kingdoms since before even the sage of six paths"
"wait hold up, I thought the old geezer founded magic?" G-t nodded at his friend.
"that's true. when it comes to humans, but the histories of the seven kingdoms are kept separate from the history of the humans" Ryu shrugged and G-T continued.
"anyway, it says here that the Yggdrisal sementem is the gem of the God-king, who rules over the God kingdom, it's usually kept close to him at all times in his legendary weapon, but if someone blamed you for stealing it then that means..."
"if I was up to stealing precious rocks, the lightning core would've been gone when we first met, you know me better then that G'"
"I know, and i'm not saying you stole it, i'm saying that someone framed you for stealing it"
"so who on earthland would want to frame me for stealing some jewel..."
A blast of energy ripped through the large room and threw the three back, G-T grabbed Anna as they got to a safe distance "get her to safety, I'll see what's up!" Ryu dashed towards the source of the blast to see a man with spikey black hair and blue markings all over his body standing infront of the alter of the lightning core.
"hey man, it's not cool to steal from others" Ryu scolded the unknown man.
"then try and stop me" the man replied. Ryu clenched his fists and rushed forward, his speed took the man by surprise, Ryu kicked the man in the gut and threw him from the alter.
"do or do not, there is no try" Ryu grinned. The man raised his hand and released a blast of green light from his hand. Ryu encompassed his body in flames and shielded himself from the on coming attack, the man chuckled as Ryu was blasted across the room into a large bookshelf.
"damn that hurt" Ryu pulled himself up and watched as the man reached for the core, Ryu formed a spear of red lightning from his and and leapt into the air.
"Metsuryū Ōgi: Kirin no yari!" Ryu hurled the lightning spear at the man and watched as it blew him out off the building.
with the lightning core.
"Shit!" Ryu dove out of the building after the core which landed on a roof top with the man. Ryu landed on the roof top as the man rose to his feet, the crimson dragon slayer darted for the crystal of lightning and reached it with his superior speed.
"your as good as they say, but lets see you fight against the force of chaos!" the man roared as his body was encompassed by chaotic magic power.
"who the hell is this guy, fine lets play, Shinku!"
Right!
Ryu roared as red magic energy roared forth and enveloped him, his eyes turned blood red and his canines grew, his nails sharpened, his skin turned to scales and his muscles bulged slightly . Ryu shot forward and met the man with a clenched fist and a monstrous roar, the two fists slammed together releasing a burst of energy that could be seen from miles away.
The group of Jinchuriki looked away from their current activities as they sensed Shinku's power flare "you guys feel that?" Ally asked.
"yeah, looks like Ryu's gotten himself into trouble" Mace stood up and looked towards the city where flashes of red and green shown in the cities skyline.
"we goin'?" Fu asked.
"yup'" Hex finished before they vanished from their position.
Ryu blasted a stream of red flames from his mouth at the man, his foe countered with a blast of green light. G-T lunged at the stranger from behind and knocked him a good distance away before rejoining his friend. Ryu's clothes were torn, his coat was long gone and his feet were bear, his undershirt was rags hanging out of his pants from what remained tucked into it, his wounds were absent from being healed but he was suffering from exhaustion.
"who the hell is this guy, he just wont stay down" G-T cursed.
"no idea but we've gotta end this before it gets dragged to the streets!"
The man stood up and chuckled halfheartedly "you two are quite strong, I've never been pushed this for in my entire life, but it's time to end this!"
"Lava crusher!" a giant fist of lava came out of nowhere and nearly crushed the man.
"I thought you might've needed our help pal" Ryu looked to see the others standing on a nearby building. they jumped down and joined with the other two.
"3,4,6,7,8,and 10, well this is quite a predicament I've gotten myself into" the man stood to his feet and held out his hand.
"you may have out number me crimson dragon, but i have the lightning core of this city, so the victor is me" and with that the man vanished in a flash of light.
"damn it!" G-T cursed. Ryu looked in with the others as the lightning slowly faded from the city.
"without the lightning the city can't function!" G-T cursed as the people below began to panic. Ryu looked to the sky then to the tallest skyscraper in the city.
"G-T can you still control lightning outside of it being from the lightning core?" G-T looked to his friend with a confused expression.
"of course... What are you planning Ryu?..." the dragon slayer chuckled before making his way to the edge of the building.
"just get to the core alter, i'll take care of the rest" Ryu took off towards the building. G-T chuckled as he followed his friend.
"you never change"
"if i did, i wouldn't be me"
"what are we suppose to do?" Ally whined.
"go help the civilians get to safety, i can't say for sure i can control it or not so get everyone in doors!" Ryu yelled to them.
"you heard the man!" Mace called as he took off for the streets.
Ryu landed on top of the skyscraper and held out each arm, crimson lightning formed around his hands and two weapons formed.
"right hand Kirin no Yari! Left hand Kami Rai Hanma!" the two weapons formed in his hands. One resembled a long spear with the head of a unicorn at one end and the other was a mass of lightning. Ryu hurled the spear at the sky and released the mass of lightning, the two attacks merged into a blast of lightning and struck the clouds releasing a thunderous roar. moments later a huge last of lightning descended from the sky and enveloped the tower.
one week later...
Ryu was finally released from the hospital from his "excess" use of magic a week ago GT joined them on their journey and left the city.
"so explain to me what you did again?" Fu asked.
"i super charged the city generator with lightning magic so it would have a steady supply while we searched for the lightning core" after the events of the past week Ryu's clothes were torn and destroyed but he refused to get rid of the rags until they got to there next destination.
(A/N: and to get it out there, his hair, just picture super saiyen goku's hair just black)
"Ryu I wanted to ask you something" Shinzo called from Ryu's mind.
"whats up?"
"the man from before did something feel off about him?"
Ryu pondered on the man's presence from a week before.
"yeah, he actually felt...familier"
"familier?" Shinzo asked.
"so Ryu whats are next stop?" Mace asked as he walked up to his friend.
"next we have to find the rest of the jinchuriki's, and I heard rumors that the five tail and two tail are traveling together..."
