A/N Oh boy, i-i'm ge-getting a little emotional over here, getting VERY close to the end now, not just that but I got a little emotional writing this, (not as ice blooded as I thought I was, oh well I can keep trying :P)
also, fair warning, Ellen uses inappropriate language again and she was doing so well too :P
Predacon rising, A Sudden Turn
On the other side, "What is this?" she said looking around the darkness of deep space.
"A power beyond your comprehension."
Atop the ship, she pulled herself back, "B-Back off!" she said in any direction. "I am not doing this." She said trying to think, "How do I get rid of you, er it's so hard to think it's like he's eating my mind, what is it with me and my head abuse lately?" Seconds later she heard an echo…an echo of humans, hissing and groaning as though in an uncomfortable position, which turned to straight up pain. "Wa-wait! Don't, don't!" she hissed. "I can't even determine this as illusion or not, but it did feel, heavy, i-i've never heard so many voices at one time before, I don't want to take a risk like that..." she grinded her jaw, "y-you shitlord."
"A concern for others lives are a flawed trait of a meaningless existence."
She hissed as she looked underneath feeling the ship suddenly take a sharp turn, "Whoa!" she called kneeling down as she held onto the ship, "Damn it, this is object humiliation." She cursed as despite everything horrible happening she took notice that she was in space and everything surrounding, "Hey…I'm in space." She realised looking on at passing rock that pushed against the ship but what caught her most was the interstellar clouds that seemed to be everywhere. "It's like, every Sci-fi intro ever." She declared.
Meanwhile just below her…
Optimus and Wheeljack continued on by the directions of the Matrix a GPS of their own you could say. But with the long trip Wheeljack had questions. "Why send the Allspark to Theta Scorpia? One of the hazardous star systems in the galaxy?" Wheeljack said.
"Precisely to deter Megatron from searching this region for it." Optimus replied,
"With all this gamma bursts and planetoid collisions out here, how can you be sure it survived?" he asked.
"The Allspark itself is comprised of pure energy, in order to contain it and launch it off world, Alpha Trion forged a vessel capable of extracting it from the ether. It is this indestructible reliquary we seek." He explained.
"Well I'll try not to scratch the paint on this tub. But no promises." Wheeljack said.
"We cannot risk being stranded if our ship is damaged. It is best that you remain here Wheeljack." He said.
"You're the boss." He said.
Optimus turned as he walked towards the drop off platform, but he frowned slightly, to the mere fact that something didn't feel right, "Is the ship detecting any anomalies?" He asked.
"Nothing electrical, but the metals out here might be screwing with the system, why d'you ask?" he said.
"Hmm." Optimus muttered, "Steady the level of vacuüm space." He said moving to the back of the ship to its primary entrance.
Wheeljack did so standing up as well and patting a grenade, "what is it?" he said cautiously, "There's no way anything could be out here, plus my scanners would have picked up any trace."
He looked at him silently as he wavered hands to him to lower his guard, "No…" he agreed sceptically as he opened the ship doors as a precaution he deployed his weapon, looking to the left side of the ship then again to the right and in doing so bared a stern expression.
"Heh…Hello…" Ellen greeted nervously as she twinkled waving fingers, "C-Can I come in? I-it turns out that Space is cold...and i'm sticking with that line." She said as he took a hold around her torso pulling her inside the ship. Setting her down Wheeljack looked unconcerned though she placed hands behind her back as she grinned nervously.
"Ellen…" Optimus started warningly tapping his fingers against his arm.
She thought but everything drew blank per usual, first she was on Cybertron and now she's here? Being dragged around, used and abused while also lying without any kind of intention and standing here about to be scolded, was humiliating... "You know, the word 'apology' is tossed around a lot these days…" she 'quoted' before sighing cringing to what she was about to say, "I don't know why I came..." She said shuffling her feet. "I pulled a Miko alright?" she muttered.
"How did you even-"
"Snuck away, stalked you, latched onto the ship. I made a ruckus out there that was my fault." She argued quickly.
"All the way out here?" Wheeljack commented almost admirably as Optimus looked at him briefly making the Wrecker sharply snap his head back to in front of him.
Optimus then looked her over as she mentally cringed to the judging stare, "This is one of the most dangerous areas in this sector, and you should know better by now then to follow me out here." He told her sternly as she cringed a little, "take the co-pilot seat." He ordered.
"Yes Dad." and did so slumping into the chair next to Wheeljack.
"Latched onto the ship like a parasite huh? Crude. I like it." Wheeljack only said lifting her spirits slightly though placed a cupped hand by her face as Optimus was right behind her.
"Monitor the area." He said to Wheeljack then turned to Ellen, "Remain here." He told her as he went to the back of the ship, Ellen looked at the floor as she heard the sound of his jet pack powering up, then saw him out in front of the ship taking a speedy route towards the intended destination.
"Soooo" Wheeljack started among the tense air, "Cybertron is pretty dull, in the end it's just another planet and culture huh?" he said nudging her as she folded her arm. "Come on kid. If you intended to come out here to look at rocks, your mood wouldn't be taken down a notch by his preaching." He argued.
She sighed half closing her optics, "Stupidly comes in waves, just can't believe how much of it seems to hit me."
"Really." He said unconvinced as she felt a hard squeeze on her processor. "Why did you come out here? It's just a lot of travel and rocks, even when I was out traveling galaxies I explored Earth for at least three weeks before I got bored with the look of grass and water. Then again i'm not human."
"Well I was supposed to be scouting with-"
"Kill him…"
"M-Magnus and Smoke, but i-"
"The Commander? He can take notice of a marching unit when It makes the tiniest out of place step...how did you get past him? And for that matter, why has there been no contact?"
"Now."
"Shut up…" she said holding her head as she clenched her fist, "Thats it, I'm not going to do this to them, Wheeljack. I can't be on this ship!" she then blurted.
"Others can take the place of YOUR error!"
She suddenly heard shrieking inside her helm, human shrieks, screams that she had heard on rare occasions, only very briefly and could never describe. She heard men, woman, children, despair, crying for help, asking to die! "Stop iiiiiit!" she hollered out loud as Wheeljack leapt from his seat, "Stop it!" she fell onto the floor as she curled up foetal style. Then she was left venerable, with out of control emotions, what he was aiming for to be able to slip into being the dominant side. "L-Leave them alone…" she whimpered slumping her metallic face showing sudden fatigue, exhaustion.
"The frag happened?" Wheeljack awed with frustrated confusion. He knelt unsure whether to touch her or not. "Hey. I'm not gonna lie, I'm freaking the frag out here." He frustrated as his way of consoling her as her whimpering died down her swaying back and forth stopping. "Hey." He said again slapping her lightly on the cheeks, "you still online?" she snapped her optics open.
"Urr-gh…not enough." Unicron growled.
She looked at him, "Wheeljack..." She said in a shaken tone, she stood up though it was struggling to do so, her movement almost rusty in appearance.
"Hey." He continued to say to make sure she was paying attention, "The scrap was that about?" he said. She looked tiredly at him as he narrowed his optics looking over her face then turned suddenly surprised with a mixture of anger, "You…look tortured." He said looking behind her helm to check for any devices. "Did something happen on Cybertron?" he slightly shook her as she looked deathly. "Cons? Dragon breath?" she remained silent, "Not able to talk? Electromagnetic torture? I've had that kind of torture before." He said as she looked past him with dead optics. "Hey!" he called snapping fingers in her face.
"There's a storm coming…" She said.
"On Cybertron?" Wheeljack said.
She shook her head slowly not caring, "No I mean literally, right now…" she said as a red flashing glow engulfed the inside of the ship.
"What?" Wheeljack turned around to notice his scanners, "Not good." He said looking over the panel. "Optimus plasma storm incoming." He warned as his icon on the panel continued forward, "Get out of there, that Allspark container may be indestructible, but you aren't."
"I am too close to turn back!" he argued.
"Too close…" Ellen mumbled shaking her head as she approached closer to a better view, though Wheeljack unveiled his weapon.
"Whoa, not too close." He said seriously.
"Wheeljack…" she said in a meek tone.
He had a sense of guilt but couldn't risk it. "I'm sorry, but I've had too many bots who have gone nuts turn on me too many times in the past. Can't take any chances." He said as she stepped back a little.
In her conscience Unicron observed an electric current pulse through her processor, "concern…the human turns too focused for me to be able to have any influence over it." he chuckled darkly, "The Prime is weak physically, but inspires strongly…" he cringed slightly, "it expresses fondness for him, disgusting. However, the more light there is, the more shadow exists…perhaps I can use this to my advantage…for I am losing patience!"
Wheeljack's expression fell to her own weariness but kept a steady weapon on her as he watched the board, the alarm intensifying as the storm drew closer, "Come on chief, we're outta time." He said anxiously as the storm started to overtake Optimus' icon on the radar. "Optimus if we don't get out of here right now." Wheeljack said looking past aiming at Ellen and taking his chances with taking the wheel to steady the ship, the storm had completely blocked Optimus' life signal, "Optimus!" he called keeping the ship still as moments passed and Optimus finally emerged from the passing storm that headed in their direction, clutching the Allspark, the hatch lowered and he easily let himself on.
In time too as a large space rock almost the size of the ship itself knocked into it as the passengers lost a sense of balance for a moment. "Cutting it kind of close don't you think?" Wheeljack said unphased by the excitement.
"Wheeljack, set a course for Cybertron." Optimus ordered.
"Hang onto your hubcaps!" he said getting the ship out of there. Out of range, Ellen sat silently in the other seat, Unicron stirred to what he sensed inside the ship, her optics widened to a point of psychotic nature, a struggling wheezing sound came from her as though she had trouble breathing but was not loud enough to hear unless next to her. Wheeljack looked at her then to the Allspark as he deployed a weapon again at her.
Optimus frowned confused as Wheeljack quickly explained. "I would mention the Allsparks size being a little off but, we have an issue here." He said nudging his head in her direction.
"I do not understand." He said.
"Something's going on back home, look I'm only taking a guess here but she's displaying effects of electromagnetic torture, something used for unwilling spies." He said.
Optimus expressed indifference as he was about to question her himself that is before, "Wheeljack, this is Bumblebee. We have an urgent situation." Bee said anxiously.
"Bumblebee this is Optimus Prime, proceed." He replied.
"Optimus, can you hear me?! Come in, please! Wheeljack!? Do you read?!" Bee called again.
The two expressed their confusion as Wheeljack voiced the reason, "The hit we took did some damage, receivers operational but we can't transmit." Wheeljack said.
"Optimus." Came Arcee's voice, "in the event that you can hear us, Unicron has found his way back to Cybertron, repeat; the chaos bringer is here on our soil in possession of Megatron's body."
Optimus looked down as he straightened up, "Wheeljack, ensure the light speed drive is still fully operational." He said watching Ellen.
"The big U could've taken Earth behind our backs, why come back to Cybertron?" he asked.
"There would be only one reason Wheeljack. To destroy the spark of his counterpart of creation, the reason for his very existence, tragically Unicron will always exist, but completely destroy either will inevitably result in something worse than just chaos for they are good and evil incarnate something that exists within all of us, it is there for us to always fight against it for without evil there can be no good, existence means conflict."
Wheeljack took a moment to comprehend, "You're talking about the existence of Primus? He sure has held a huge grudge." He tutted.
"It is his nature, his only nature. Though he cannot control Earth, his physical form had been put back into a state of hibernation, but his will, his spirit, will always remain in any being with any presence or thought of darkness."
'Starlight's' optics shifted to one side staring at Optimus' torso, "The Allspark? AND Matrix in a confined space?" Unicron said observing.
Optimus looked down as her hands shook, "Anywhere." He said finishing his explanation, "Ellen." he then said as she turned her head looking fearful. "Focus on me." He said calmly placing a steady cupped hand around her arm.
"What are you doing?" Wheeljack asked.
He then knelt as he observed her optics, "Fear and despair you are not welcome here." He said reassuringly. "Dark Energon is more prominent now with Unicrons presence known." Wheeljack merely blinked to what was said.
Her optics started to focus again, "did they say Unicron? Another part, on Cybertron?" she said robotically.
"Another?" Optimus repeated. "Then-"
She nodded shutting her optics, "Its not the side effects of Dark Energon, he's here too, I've brought him here, the Allspark, the Matrix, you..." she blurted finding her feet, "I can't tell what he says and does is real and what isn't." her speech speeds up, "He threatens me, but I can't say he's lying, I can't go anywhere, I can't leave! I-I'm trapped in here…"
She held onto his arm as he held her head still, "The Dark Energon transferred his very will to the empty vessel with you." he said with a tint of confusion. "Ellen, whatever he has threatened you with, it is all illusion, his power increases on despair and doubt. without it he has no will."
"Interferer…"
"I, don't know what to do…" she said with a shaken voice.
"Dwell on memories, think of friends." He implored.
She tried, her expression tightened, though by now as she looked upon her processor, it was covered in purple like veins, thumping and swelling like a heart, tightening around the mind as it stopped her from 'accessing' any memories. "I, can't…i-i've endangered your home, all those lives...and now there's another part of him on Cybertron?" she tiredly said.
"Then focus on myself and Wheeljack, you are not alone, we will not allow him to make you feel otherwise." He said as Wheeljack started to wave doubt ably though as he couldn't understand the scrap around him.
Finally she looked up, "I...think I always know what I'm talking about..."
"No. do not express regret, mistakes are made, that is all." He said lightly as she tried, watching him she tried to relax. "Nightmares and tragedy, I am always here to let you see past that, from the end there is always a beginning, always hope."
"Perhaps, but only briefly remember? regret, fear…how much more of a memory are these to you then a mere, *chuckle*, 'small means of entertainment?'" came the voice in her head, more dominant even as it was clear Optimus was speaking to her, she couldn't hear, let alone lip read.
Instead of Unicrons voice as well she suddenly heard familiar voices, as well as her own but not at all content or welcoming, her own voice from different times of her life…
"Mommy!"
"Why did he l-leave me?"
"Bee, what if he comes back? He hurt Optimus, BAD. I-I don't want him to go too."
"A-Are you sure they can't come back Optimus? What if-"
"I am afraid not little one…"
"I don't think they want me here…"
"M-My arm…Oh…shit no. pl-please no…"
"S-Something's in here with me…"
"Daddy…your, legs…"
"It's alright for you, you can drive clear across the country! What can I do?! Get stuck here, only to see the injured come back or have a half hour hang out with friends be monitored!"
"I'm sorry but 'this' can't happen. You'll only get hurt."
"Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Pl-please…he'll die…"
Energon escaped the corner of her mouth as she looked at Optimus' torso, and abruptly shoved him, "J-Just keep that away from me." He came closer again despite her plead. "No, just!" she halted, frozen, her hands shaking. "Its…cold, I-I can't...feel anything." She shivered to her knees holding her head, "AHHH-!" she suddenly screeched with this throbbing stabbing into her processor.
"Ellen!" Optimus called.
"No…i-i won't give...i-i-i w-wo-won't." she whimpered, her optics wide with fear, "A-Ah...Dad…it hurts!" she called, he watched her as though she had lost her sight as she wasn't looking at him rather she were looking to the floor finding, pawing at something.
He reached out a hand to her shoulder though very quickly she grabbed that hand and squeezed it harshly, "Do not touch me, filth of his blood!" A demonic tone growled from the form.
He knew the voice as he grinded his oral cavities, "Unicron…" he declared, "What have you done to her?" he growled.
"You proclaimed it yourself that this organic existence were my prodigy, whose very lives belong to me and no one else as does Primus choose your own fates, HIS instruments." Inside 'Starlight's' head Ellen was restrained, up against the back of the helm with crystallised tendrils of Dark Energon serving as chains, she gasped as though she couldn't breathe, it oozed a vapour, it made her feel…well that was the problem, she felt nothing. The realisation was that her very consciousness was being absorbed by Unicron for his own strength as she saw herself turn slightly transparent.
"Release her, now!" Optimus demanded as he gripped a hand around the forms neck restraining it tightly, though Unicron temporally allowed her consciousness to be the dominant mind as Optimus saw and heard her own distant voice choke at his own action. He quickly released her and briefly looked to his own hands.
"You cannot harm this body," he said darkly approaching him as he backed away unsure what he were to do to the form though he looked to his side to the Allspark container, "you will kill her, but you will never rid of me." He told him as 'Starlight' lunged at him it wasn't her strength or the capability of the forms strength only Unicrons strength, gathered by her collective experience of grief, stress and doubt. Optimus raised his arms to block the attacks but they pushed him back against the ship, Unicron looked to the hands he possessed and tensed them, "This race, their lives, their fear, substantial. Always confused and frustrated." He declared. Wheeljack then stood up as he brought out his weapon and aimed it at the hostile.
"Wheeljack no! You will destroy her. Use only minimal force!" Optimus cried as Unicron locked the hands together then took a swing into the side of Optimus' face throwing him across the ship, it was thrown off-balance.
"I don't do minimal!" Wheeljack called keeping his aim. "Too much weird scrap been happening in the short time we've been out here but Unicron plans on destroying you if we don't think of something!" He said.
Unicron strolled over as he placed a harsh grip on his helm throwing him towards the ships entrance doors the impact blew open the entrance door, "Hardly appropriate to call this a battlefield." He said turning to Wheeljack who opened fire. "Meek little pest." He hissed.
"This might singe a little!" he cried, Unicron formed his fist into a crystallised purple tipped dagger as he fired. Small cloned projectiles are dispensed at the Wrecker, easily re-spawned and fired fast, Wheeljack reached for the controls as his hand was pinned up against the panel by one of the projectiles going straight through his palm. He grunted unable to destroy the substance. "If I hadn't developed a sense of morals pal I'd set this ship to self-destruct." he hissed at the evil deity.
Unicron on the other hand opened a portal as he was now out in space behind Optimus who activated his jets to keep himself balanced, Unicron merely hovered, Optimus shook his head to focus as he slipped his battle mask into place spinning around as he kicked himself back away to judge his distance.
"Unicron, if you will not surrender her I will get her myself." He threatened deploying a weapon as he charged for the form, "Ellen, this is not for you!" he fired as the shot aimed for the leg knocking Unicron out of balance as Optimus flew at full speed slamming him against the ship.
"Now what do you intend to do Prime? Reach the organic creature through Diplomacy?" he asked maliciously throwing him off as he became hesitated. He then threw punches to his face, one after another making him stumble back, "Perhaps. Unfortunately it is currently detained, I doubt it can produce a sound...to you that is."
"Do not underestimate this species." He argued back, another blow being made to his face.
"Stop it!" Ellen's voice spoke from the recessive part of her mind though still powerless to the large figure that blocked her control but her voice just barely pushed through.
"Hang on." Optimus thought, "I'm coming!" He took a grab for the hands, holding the form there in place as Unicron struggled to keep up the tug of war in his favour, "Your fight is with me, not through someone else." he pushed the form downwards overpowering it.
"This form is still limited." Unicron hissed as Optimus grimaced to the sudden malice of a grin on the bodies face.
'Starlight's' body started to shift suddenly, her back with tiny plating separating and shifting outwards until a large gaping hole was left in her back. Opening another portal he propelled himself backwards making himself appear above on top of the ship. he reached an arm over his shoulder as he took a hold on something, then pulling it from the form itself, only a hilt was what he produced, holding it out in front of him and with barely a motion the hilt unsheathed that demonic hum of the Dark Star Sabers blade itself. Unicron lowered the bodies head as he looked onto the Prime with a unwavered expression.
He lifted the Saber overhead and Optimus unsheathed his own Saber and held it out in front.
"The pain in my back." Ellen said watching on. "Piece of scrap." she hissed as she threw her head back to a constant strike of spasm pain running through her bones. "U-Urgh...this, ain't, shit."
"This form is too small to harbour my power, it required a CRUTCH." Unicron hissed lifting the Saber. "Apparently so are you." then he brought it down as Optimus lay the Star Saber sideways as the two Sabers grinded against each other making sparks as Unicron pushed forward, "What will you do now?" he mocked as though playing a game.
Optimus was hesitant with the amount of strength he was using, his Saber began to shake with the tug of war they played again, "You know how this will end, either you die or 'it' dies, or a third option to stay like this locked in combat and inevitably will all be destroyed, alongside your Matrix and the Allspark."
"No, that is not the only choice!" He cried pushing the form back, In a raging outburst Unicron leapt into the air swiftly he brought the Dark Saber down, Optimus raised the Saber to block, however the power of Dark Energon intensified around the blade and was too fast an attack as he stabbed the Dark Saber through Optimus' overlapped hands he had in position to hold the Saber.
"Yes, it is." Unicron cupped a hand around the hilt pushing the sword deeper into the wound causing Optimus to groan. "You are weak Prime." he muttered to him, "You, shall ALWAYS be weaker than I."
Ellen watched, looking at Optimus with an expression she had never seen before, well not one she had seen publicly anyway, "That look alone...I...I have to do something." She then looked to behind her, the empty void that represented her mind was draped with artificial wiring, and then she made a decision, if she wanted to get rid of Unicron, the processor must shut down...
She tried to struggle at first but proved meaningless and her decision was over before she had begun, she bowed her head. "I don't make the best choices, but I, try to fix them…" looking at her arm, all that time she had never noticed the small glow around it, pulsating to the detection of Dark Energon. "I keep trying…" she said clenching her fist pulling upwards straining to put more force into it. "I love this arm."
Unicron gave Optimus another series of blows as he lay against the ship continuing to fight against the binds, Unicron then gripped fingers on Optimus' chassis as he scraped down his armour causing him to flinch, "The very essence of Primus…" Unicron said forcibly parting Optimus' chest plates to that luminous glow, "as long as you held it, he would never truly die…how flawed to be this close to destruction, you failed to bear it." He amused though slightly flinching at its bright form, "His blood runs thin in you."
Ellen tugged harder as the Dark Energon started to crumble away to the burning effect this luminous blue light provided. "Yes." she declared quietly tugging faster.
He took a strong hold on either side of the Matrix as he looked at the other robotic hand, "Child of Unicron to murder a child of Primus." his optics shut as he made a murmured satisfying sound, "Eala; yes, irony." He pulled hard as his plating started to tear, Optimus groaned painfully as his spark struggled to stay in place as it was dragged alongside the Matrix.
*Psssssstaaa* the Dark Energon shattered like glass as Ellen started to climb the wiring around the shell of the processor as she tried to not look at the images through the optics, "Even if I can't stop you physically…" she panted scolding herself to grip hard despite her excruciating torture "I can make sure we both go down." She then grabbed onto a main wire, a main function that operated the body, she started to swing onto the wiring at the same time as pulling, and one by one they snapped.
First, the pain receptors, which caused both occupants to feel a pinch, "C-Come on…U-rr my bones, how am I even able to appear as myself?" she said as she could still see the physical pain he was causing to Optimus. She started to panic, pulling on the motor functions, "Fuck the questions for now come on!" Unicron then jolted as another part of the processor was damaged and the arms were in suspended animation.
"The arms..." Unicron declared, Optimus watched on as the arms drooped to one side abruptly.
"Motor functions offline." Ellen said puffing for breath as she reached to each function, clutching parts of her sore body.
Unicron growled with boiling anger, "You think you can get rid of me?! I can whither your arms, changed your form, blind you, take away your senses to exist as only an A.I conscious state!"
She gripped another function line as she felt exhausted and even frightened by his threats, "If you're…s-sent away, I don't care what I am…but at the same time, what I'm thinking right now, scares me." she breathed tiredly.
"Blinded insect!"
"Ellen…" Optimus said knowingly, watching the body stumble back away from him.
Inside its processor, a vapor form of Unicron charged at her as her right arm raised up on its own, it glowed a bright blue as a vapor shield blocked his attack.
Not thinking too much on it Ellen continued to pull "Energon chambers…." She then said as one by one went and off lined each function of the forms body. Eventually she found herself on the last, "Unicron." She called as he came charging for a second try, "You asked me before if I believed that my own words, that we aren't like you."
On the outside Optimus watched the form move involuntary in a series of spasms, "I know these signs…" he grimaced, "It's a bodily shutdown…" he produced a built up growl as he used the strength in his arms to pull his legs up and in doing so kicked the Sabers hilt off his hands, with a gaping hole left in both palms, "Ellen!" he called, "Ellen don't!"
"What's the reason why humans are not like you? Well that's the answer right there, it's our humanity, we're not always great, hell we can be straight up evil and sometimes because of that our nature holds us back from evolving, but we will, we can force ourselves too, but even with those flaws, it's our ideas, our feelings, our conscience, and even when we're driven to the edge, we still find something that pushes you back! So, go fuck yourself." She pulled out the last cord. "C-Complete…complete shutdown." She said to herself with slight hesitation.
"Nooo!" he cried...however, he calmed himself down very quickly, his anger, false as he chuckled, "A minor setback, after all, my will still extends to Cybertron! I will claim your worlds, your civilisations, your sparks either way!" his voice faded as the optics glitches, Optimus found his balance as he activated his jets catching the body as it almost fell back, the optics sparked and he could not identify who was speaking as it echoed and glitched.
"Ellen?" he said lightly shaking the form as the optics averted down to see him. He bared solemn relief, relief that she responded but… "You…"
Her limbs shuddered as she half closed her optics, "I know...I know, It shouldn't be like this, I hate It when It comes to this. b-but what could I do? I saw something bad about to happen, so I just thought of a solution...It wasn't a rational or even an ethical solution, just instinct I guess." she made a soundless laugh, "I'm a hypocrite I'm a huge one you know, heck I'm even making rambling speeches to a literal robot devil...and now I just did something without thinking of the repercussions…I only thought of you, but now, I guess it doesn't matter anymore…" she said her voice almost fading with her optics. "I…I guess that's what you were thinking too huh, just to get those guys out before yourself, to save friends to save offspring...sometimes there isn't any other way, kind of like using yourself as a bridge so that others can cross over…wonderful, here come the delirious metaphors."
Optimus shook his head, "Ellen…Ratchet never knew the outcome If this body shutdown your mind may be lost forever, you are- I will not allow others to perish in my stead." he told her.
"This was my choice. And I won't let you die because of my mistake!" she cried her body shuddering, "You can't bring me back." She told him calmly. "He has to stay in this form, if you bring me online, that is if that is possible, he'll still exist. He'll always exist, it's when you let yourself get out of control that he takes over."
"I am fully aware." He told her sternly before his expression fell, "However, are you aware of what you are asking of me? To allow you, to fade? I can save you."
"I know, I can tell, but you've already forgotten about Unicron on Cybertron...don't lose your edge because of me, Its nice to see your guard lowered a little, makes me feel little again, grazing my knee, things like that...but, y-you can't, at least, not now of all times."
"You speak so histrionic...this is not how it is meant to be, the newest generation does not perish for the old…"
"I know the saying, but its only natural for both parties to fear for their loved ones…you can't stop that." she chuckled, "So, as much as I don't mind rules most of the time, I don't like that one." She weakly jested as he placed a cupped hand around her metallic cheek, she looked out into the empty void of space, "Space looks nice, I appreciate you letting me come here…its so quiet, everything thought impossible, possible out here." she said with a mix of sadness as he produced a small reassuring smile, "You have to go now alright?" his optics descended to the side, "Right? No time remember? Unicron still exists in another form." Her voice turned slightly slurred as she felt her optics barely produce a tear of Energon, "I think that was caused by neuropathic pain." she humoured weakly.
"Time? You refer to time being crucial a numurous priority from my part, yet, I found myself in suspended animation." he told her lightly. "I, would find myself as the injured one while others watched down on me, I would not have It any other way, It grieves me that I now look down on you."
"I-I'm…s-sorry, I shouldn't have, i-interfered. And I'm sorry for doing this to you, I...I hate myself for it." she said weakly frustrated. "I-"
"Do not apologize, sometimes, events can turn almost immediately. You are correct in how we respond to our destruction, the instinct to protect, Its how we survive. however the usual conditions are reversed." his head dipped in between sentences, thinking, of anything, to keep her from leaving. "...try to reserve your strength." He said softly stroking her helm. "And stay with me."
"I'm sorry." She breathed as she felt realisation. "Dad...I-I'm scared, I don't want to g-go."
He continued to comfort her, baring a mask of reassurance but didn't know what to say, but, she was scared. So, he took hold of her hand as she looked down wincing her optics, "Do not be afraid, I'm here." He told her as he optics wandered, "Look at me." He ordered. Her optics turned dazed, blinking at different times, "Remember, the activity Hide, and Seek?"
Her optics softened as she nodded. "M-Maybe, other Cybertronians would like it? It's a three and up game th-there's no specified l-limit." she slurred.
"Our cultures will certainly merge." He said.
"What If, they don't? What if, like with your history, you forget about us, about Earth?"
"Easy." he calmed, "Through my experience, the Matrix gathers all that I know, learned and seen."
"That's reassuring..." she said almost as a whisper.
He watched the optics flicker and felt his sparks pulse slow down. "Be…be still little one." He said gripping her hand a little harder, despite a mixture of denying the events he had to face facts shaking his head slowly he forced himself, "I must tell you this-"
"Dad…" she then stuttered in a way that made him feel a sickening sensation like falling in a dream and despite the comfort he gave her, her optics were left in fear, then slowly dimmed…and turned black as quick as the flick of a switch and the form fell limp in his arms.
His optics dimmed in light, a feel of confusing came over him, "Ellen." he called shaking her gently. Then knowing there would be no reply, he leaned his head in to rest on hers, "Hear me, there's still time." he said frowning as he hoisted her bridal style turning back to the ship he briefly activated his jets to propel himself inside he took a free and pulling the door back to a shut as Wheeljack's Dark Energon cuff spontaneously erupted into tiny crystallised flakes, "Wheeljack, continue our course." He told him vigorously.
Wheeljack shook his wrist as he looked over the body he held, "Wait, is she-?"
"No, nor will she be…I will not allow it." He said looking to Allspark container as they continued their journey staring at the darkened optics, he placed a hand where her spark chamber would reside. "You must return."
"Then what's the plan?" Wheeljack said.
"I must face him." He said.
"…you gonna explain to me what the scrap that was all about?"
"Aboard the Nemesis, she took a shard from Megatron's original source of Dark Energon, it held unnatural abilities, specifically to her a foresight but perhaps only so that she could be used to his own will and disguise his presence at the same time." He said shifting as he held her. "She only intended to use it as an advantage on our part."
Wheeljack saw a change in his expression, like a tiny crack in a window, although small was very much noticable, "Kid'll be fine." He reassured. "But, in case Unicron suddenly came online again…"
"This form was never alive, on its own it is a vessel, and it functions more as a machine without a beings conciousness, thoughts and feelings. As soon as shutdown is eminent, neither being can bring it online only an outside source can." He dipped his head, "However."
"However?"
"However as Unicron is very much capable able to return from oblivion." he stopped, losing himself in the moment of silence as Wheeljack watched intently.
"Optimus." Wheeljack said grabbing his attention.
His optics blinked almost dazed like as he retained focus. "Even if, we banish Unicron once more, It does not ensure that she may return, but I must try." he told him. "I have to."
