Chapter 29- The blue guy

Flying was more exhausting than I thought, as I settled down to perch myself on a small grey rock, not unlike the one Vegeta had took up with back on earth. It was probably all the heat on this planet. Every direction I had looked in when flying seemed to have a sun.

Now that I could sit down and count them there seemed to be three.

This planet was really different from anything else I had ever seen. All around me I could sense different types of energies, whereas on earth that had only really been two types. The weak humans that milled around on habitable continents and the rest of us, the strong ones who tended to take up the not so habitable places. Here however was a completely different story. There were the weak sort of energies, belonging to the more undeveloped namekians who I supposed would be the children. Then there were an odd sort of energy, nothing defined about it but a hidden agenda to its knowledge. Again I believed they belonged to the namekians. Last but not least of the namekian race were the strong, brute energies. Their workers perhaps, or the defendants of their people.

The non-namekian energies were in two classes. Incredibly strong (for example Frieza and his two cronies) and reasonably strong who I had yet to figure out who they were.

I didn't have to wait long though.

I should have been more surprised than I was but somehow seeing Gohan and Krillin flying past about a mile out from me just wasn't a surprise.

Frieza was here for the dragonballs. Vegeta was here for the dragonballs. Why shouldn't they be too. The two passed quickly enough with gritted teeth, but I noticed Krillin still donned the same jumpsuit as usual. Gohan however had a change of style and instead had taken to an outfit similar to Piccolo's. Even all the way down to the shoes.

The pang in my heart lasted less this time, but it still hurt just as much.

I could feel Frieza and his henchman not so far away, having found another cluster of the natives. I could sense four, which then bumped up to six as three arrived and one died.

The proceedings didn't last long, ending with death on the namekians part of course. Not much changed when Krillin and Gohan intervened, although they did escape with what I sensed to be a namekian child.

The daylight didn't fade as I continued sitting there. Feeling out the density of this planet's situation.

At some point one of Frieza's cronies separated from the rest and came across Vegeta. Who no doubt obliterated him as his energy quickly faded.

I could almost see the smug grin on Vegeta's face.

I had felt out enough though by the time Vegeta took up residence in the last namekian gathering. Following Frieza's example and killing the lot of them.

I drew my energy back into my core, calmed by the breeze that tussled with my hair as I flew.

I thought I felt someone else behind me, but a sharp glance back gained nothing and I quickly dismissed the thought.

It was only when a hand set itself upon my shoulder that the panic set in.

"I command you to stop" The familiarity was the only thing that ground me to a halt.

I was only too aware of how close he was as I kept my back to him. Up close, I caught a hint of his scent, exactly as it should be for someone of his type. A musk that drew out thoughts of intimacy.

'Can't you keep your mind of sex for just one minute?'

"Turn around" The voice commanded and my body was only too happy to comply. I hadn't thought much of it earlier, as to which crony of Frieza's Vegeta had killed of, but I was sort of glad it had been the spiked one instead of Zarbon.

"Hm" Was the only opinion he had to offer when I turned, his eyes mentally accessing my body.

"Well, I sure wasn't expecting to walk into such a cutie on this planet" I pouted, folding my arms. His eyes flickered with brief amusement.

"Flattery doesn't work on me" He tugged a hand over his neck, bringing the green braid over his shoulder.

"A guy who likes to cut to the chase huh?"

"In more ways than one"

"Modest too. Let's see if your as good with your body as you are with words" Shock didn't have time to register before I threw a punch at his perfect face.

It didn't need to though. He blocked it with ease.

"A feisty one huh? Let's see how that turns out for you"

It still wasn't night after we finished our little brawl a few hours later on. With all the suns, I was beginning to think there wasn't such a thing as night on this planet. At least that meant no giant apes rampaging around. I'd seen enough of those to last me a lifetime.

Zarbon had kept evenly matched with me, but I sensed he was holding something back. It was a good thing our fight was on friendly terms.

We sat resting on the rolling grass, Zarbon having recently congratulating me on being a good opponent.

Now it was the hard part. Talking.

"What brings you to this planet" He had asked.

"To fight cocky bastards like you" He chuckled.

"That's not the real reason is it"

"No, but it's none of your business"

"Fair enough. I wouldn't say that to Frieza though. He tends to kill people a lot for even the smallest things"

"I noticed"

"Why don't I take you to meet him"

"That would be a good idea how?"

"Your better befriending him than making an enemy. With the latter you tend not to live. Besides, I could really use a sparring partner"

"Oh alright"

He extended a hand to help me of the rock, but I couldn't help feeling I had made a very bad decision.
