Haha, look, I'm back...two months later. Sheesh, it's not like I didn't know exactly what I was going to do, I just wasn't writing it, although I have no excuse as to why except that I've been working on other stories. Right, this chapter will have a bunch of pain for Starscream not because I don't like him, but because I find it funny...I know, it's quite terrible of me.
Icy wasn't really the type of person who smiles at anything, but today, even he couldn't help but grin slightly. That night, he and Slipstream would be going to see a midnight showing of a movie, and Icy was honestly really looking forward to it. Not only would he be able to spend all night with Slipstream, but he also wouldn't have to deal with his brothers tonight. Random and Hothead were both a bit high strung and unstable, and were even more so at night. It was nice to be able to get a night off every once in a while.
While Icy was thinking, Hothead had come and join him in the room, and he also seemed strangely pleased. Hothead was never satisfied with anything, and was happy about things even less than Icy was. So the fact that both of them were content this morning, at once, was very odd indeed. And Random knew this.
"Jou two seem happy about somezhing." Random says as he watches his older brothers.
"I'm just looking forward to tonight." Icy says.
"Jah, me too." Hothead says. Icy looks at his older brother curiously.
"And, vhat are jou doing tonight?" Icy asks him.
"Ramjet's taking me and Thunder to a rock concert tonight." Hothead says. Icy looks at his brother like he's crazy.
"Zhat's tonight?" Icy asks, "But I'm going to zhe movie's vith Slipstream tonight."
"Jou never said jou vere going out tonight." Hothead says iritably.
"Because I didn't vant jou to know about it." Icy says, "I mean, look vhat happened last time jou knew about my date vith her." Icy found out a while ago that Hothead and the others had stalked him and Slipstream on their date, and he was not pleased in the least bit. Icy didn't even feel sorry that Hothead lost one of his teeth, he was that upset.
"Vell, jou're going to have to reschedule." Hothead says, "Ve've had zheze concert tickets for months, so zhere is no vay I'm not going."
"It's a midnight show," Icy says, "There's only one showing of it."
"Vell zhen, vhat are ve going to do about Random?" Hothead asks. Both the boys look at Random, who had been very amused by their bickering. He knew about both the movie and the concert, and found it very funny that neither of his brother's bothered to know what the other was doing.
I could stay at Dirge's place." Random suggests.
"Jah, but Slipstream, Ramjet, and Thundercracker won't be zhere," Icy says. "Who do jou zhink vill keep an eye on jou guys?"
"Uh, Starscream's not going anywhere." Random says. Hothead and Icy look at each other, they had completely forgotten about Starscream, like they often did. Starscream was unique from his siblings, simply because of how much like all of them he was. All of his siblings were known for being a liar, an ego-centric, a vixen, a hoarder, a jealous whiner, and a coward. Starscream on the other hand was known simply because he was a little bit like all of them.
Random and Hothead didn't really trust Starscream, but their want to keep their evening plans trumped over their distrust of Starscream, so they went ahead and let Random stay over at their friend's house. Before Icy left though, he had something to give to Starscream. Unfortunately Starscream wasn't in the room at the time, and Icy really didn't want to go looking for him. So instead, Icy gave it to Thundercracker.
"Jou make sure Starscream get's zhis." Icy says. Without another word he and Slipstream leave to hang out for a few a hours before their movie. Thundercracker looks from the paper Icy gave him to Hothead.
"What is this for?" Thundercracker asks.
"Icy zhinks zhat Random is a handfull," Hothead scoffs. "So he vrote some bits of advice for Starscream." Thunder takes another look at the note, and one of them really interested him. Thunder shows Hothead the bit he was fascinated with.
"Is this true?" Thundercracker asks. "does Random really need to sleep under the bed so he won't sleepwalk?"
"Vell, he did a few years ago," Hothead says, "Back vhen ve made him sleep on his bed. once ve let him sleep under zhe bed, he stopped, so I don't know vhether he still does." Thundercracker takes another look before grinning mischievously and pocketing the piece of paper. A few minutes later the two of them and Ramjet leave to go to their concert, without passing the paper off to Starscream.
Thundercracker did this because he and Starscream had recently gotten into a fight that they'd yet to make up about. This wasn't much of a surprise, the twins were more often fighting than not. Whenever they did fight, neither of their pride's would let them apologize. So instead, they concentrated on doing things that would make the other even more angry. Thundercracker thought it would be hilarious if Starscream had to deal with a sleepwalking Random. Or, even better, If Starscream didn't even notice, and got into trouble because of something that Random did while asleep.
Starscream was in a bad mood that day, because all the rest of the older kids were going out and having fun, and he was stuck, staying at home, babysitting the brats. And not only did he have to watch his three younger siblings, but also Random. Lucky him. Fortunately though, the day went quite normal. The only trouble Starscream faced was trying to get the kids to just go to bed and stop playing. At first none of them listened to him, but after a few minutes Starscream was able to intimidate his siblings and Random to go to bed.
Later that night even Starscream finally went to bed. Starscream's bed was at the bottom of his and Thundercracker's bunk bed. They both hated to share a room, and loathed to share a bed, but the house was only so big and had just so much space. Tonight though, since Thundercracker was gone, Random was sleeping on the top bunk. Having Random sleep in the same room as him was the only thing Starscream could think of to keep Random and Dirge from talking all night.
Starscream was fast asleep, when Random suddenly stepped on his hand that was hanging over the edge of the bed. Starscream snapped awake and clutched at his now throbbing hand. What the heck did that stupid kid think he was doing? Starscream glared at the kid, and was surprised to see how odd the kid was acting...well, odder than he usually was. His eyes were open, but were glossy. Random didn't look like he was really looking at anything.
"Random, what are you doing up? Go back to bed." Starscream orders. Random doesn't answer, he just turns and walks out of the room, with his arms outstretched. Starscream groaned and, still clutching his still hurting hand, followed Random. Where did he think he was going? Random was supposed to be asleep, so Starscream was going to make him to back to sleep.
Starscream went into the hallway to see Random walking towards the stairs, but he didn't seem like he noticed them at all. Starscream watched the kid for a minute before running after the kid and grabbing his arm, stopping him just before he reached the stairs.
"Enough of this," Starscream says, "Get back in bed, now!" Random doesn't answer. He just pulls hard, trying to get his arm out of Starscream's grip. Starscream doesn't let go, but Random's pull is with his whole body and a second later the both of them are tumbling down the stairs. Somehow, Random lands on top of Starscream, who hit his head quite hard on the wall.
"Ow, what do you think you're doing?" Starscream asks, clutching his head with his hands. Random once again doesn't answer, he just stands up and starts walking again, occasionally walking into a wall or tripping over the furniture, as if he didn't see them, even though the rooms were brightly lit because of the moon.
Starscream didn't immediately follow him for a minute, he just stayed sitting at the bottom of the stairs, holding the bump that had formed on his head, and trying to think. Random was acting really weird, like he wasn't really noticing anything. As if he wasn't even...awake.
"You've got to be kidding me," Starscream mutters to himself, "The kid's a sleepwalker." He vaguely remembered Icy mentioning that one time, but he hadn't remembered it until now. Now what was he supposed to do? Starscream didn't know how to deal with an awake Random, let alone an asleep one. Starscream reluctantly gets up and heads for the kitchen, which was the room that Random was in. The least he could do was to just make sure the kid didn't accidentally burn the house to the ground.
Upon entering the kitchen Starscream sees that burning the house down seemed to be exactly what Random was about to do. The brat had turned on both of the burners on the gas stove, letting them burn. Starscream moves to turn them off, but Random walks into him, causing his hand to slip and get burned by the lit stove. Starscream screams and retracts his hand quickly. Alright, now this kid was getting on his nerves.
"Enough of this fun," Starscream says loudly. He grips Random's shoulder, Random reacts unexpectedly by turning and punching Starscream right in the face. Starscream stumbles back, and Random walks off again. Starscream grumbles to himself and heads to the sink to run cold water over his burned hand. Who knew keeping an eye on a pre-teen for a night could be so painful? Once his hand felt a little better Starscream went and reluctantly found Random again, he couldn't just let the kid wander around the house doing who-knows-what, the kid needed to be watched.
Starscream spends the next hour following Random, getting hurt in some way or another every few seconds. Until finally, finally, Random curled up on the couch and fell asleep...or, at least a normal sleep where he didn't attack anybody. Even though Random wasn't sleepwalking anymore, and Starscream was tired, he couldn't go to sleep, or the kid could start sleepwalking again, and actually kill him this time.
Starscream had good reason to be a little wary, because during this hour Random had managed to cause several injuries to Starscream. These injuries included the swollen hand, headache, and burned hand, but also multiple bruises, a cut on his forehead, and a twisted ankle. Starscream didn't know why he had to get so hurt, Random had only been doing things that one does everyday. Starscream just get's all the luck, didn't he?
So Starscream stayed awake until, at about three in the morning, he heard the front door opening. Only then did he allow himself to fall asleep, which he did almost immediately. If Random started sleepwalking, then whoever had just come home could deal with him.
It was Icy and Slipstream who had come back, and they were both very surprised to see Random asleep on a chair and Starscream sleeping on the floor. Icy quickly figured out what had happened, and for once, felt sorry for Starscream.
"Are Starscream and Thundercracker fighting again?" Icy asks Slipstream quietly.
"Yeah, have been for the past two weeks." Slipstream says. "What happened to old Screamer anyways?"
"Random's sleepwalking can get quite...violent." Icy replies. "Seems Thunder 'forgot' to give the memo to Starscream." Slipstream looks at her older brother, who looked pretty terrible. Of course this whole thing was Thundercracker's fault, anytime Starscream got hurt it was always Thunder's fault.
"I'll go take my brother upstairs," Slipstream says, "Why don't you go take Random home?" Icy agrees and picks up his little brother and leaves. A few minutes later Slipstream somehow was able to get her older brother back upstairs into his bed. It wasn't that hard, because Starscream wasn't exactly known for his finesse and was actually quite light.
After Starscream was lying in his bed Slipstream started tending to his injuries, just to make sure they didn't get any worse. Tomorrow, when Thunder got home, he was going to get it. For Slipstream never really acted like it, but she did care about her brothers, and Starscream could have seriously gotten hurt tonight, and Thundercracker was the only idiot to blame for that.
That was...odd, and rushed, and weird, but fun. So, it's basically like any other chapter of this story. Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, even if it was odd, rushed, and weird. And, if for some reason, you want to read more of this, I need some suggestions, so leave a review to say what you want to read, or who you want to read more off, or whatever. Seriously, request, because I only have one more idea.
