Why can't I ever get this updated in sooner than a month? I shall try to work on that, I mean, I have, like, three other fanfictions that I update within two or three weeks, so why shouldn't I do the same thing with this one?
Right, this next chapter is for Sunstorm, why? Because he's the only one I haven't given a bigger part in any story, and I do owe it to him, considering that I entirely forgot about him in the last chapter. I feel bad, why would I forget about him?
So, I still don't own Transformers, Animated or Prime, I just like to play around with the characters a little bit.
Young Sunstorm was just sitting on the couch, by himself, as he always seemed to be lately. He would, of course, rather be with someone else, but they all had someone else to be with. Hothead and Thundercracker were always playing, and winning, violent video games. Skywarp often watched them, even though he got a little startled from the violence in the game, but he was getting quite good at handling it, or at least he wasn't bursting into tears from fright every five seconds.
Slipstream and Icy used to always just do whatever they did by themselves, now whatever they did they often did together. Sunstorm didn't mind this so much, because the two of them really were quite good for each other.
Normally Sunstorm would play around with Dirge and Random, but lately they, like their older siblings, had started to find Sunstorm's unending praise tiring. Sunstorm didn't mind so much though, they could do what they wanted, they always did. Thrust was also out, because he had started being around Dirge and Random more and more. Sure, Thrust and Dirge couldn't get along with each other if their lives depended on it, but Random found the chaoticness the two of them brought amusing.
That left Starscream and Ramjet. Ramjet was such an amazing liar that just trying to figure out what he was saying gave Sunstorm a headache. And Starscream, sure, Sunstorm would hang out around him, and Starscream wouldn't mind, but no, he couldn't. Starscream and Thundercracker were still mad at each other for whatever reason, and Sunny had learned a while ago that complimenting (Or, as they call it, sucking up to) one of them just led to the other one being mad at him, and Thunder was scary when he was angry.
Sunstorm brightened up drastically when he heard the door open. That meant that Knockout and Breakdown were over again. Sunstorm really liked those two, they were cool.
"Hey Sunny," Knockout says as he takes a quick glance through the room, which was unoccupied except for him, "Say, where is everybody?"
"In Slipstream's room, Dirge's room, Thunder's room, or somewhere else upstairs." Sunstorm says brightly, his eyes wide and his hands together. He really admired Knockout, the one person who could get along with any of the others very easily.
"Great, I'll just go join them then." Knockout says as he heads toward the stairs.
"Knockout, you are utterly amazing." Sunstorm says. Knockout smiles slyly at the nine-year-old.
"Yes, I am pretty amazing aren't I?" Knockout says, looking please with himself. "It's good of you to notice. You're a pretty nice kid." Knockout then headed upstairs leaving Breakdown and Sunstorm alone.
Sunstorm stood staring at the place where Knockout was before for a minute. He couldn't believe it, Knockout had just said he was a nice kid. Knockout had...complimented him? Sunstorm wasn't used to others saying good things about him, it was much more normal for him to say something good about someone else. It felt...good.
Breakdown looked over at Sunstorm, the kid looked surprised by what Knockout had just said. Why though? It wasn't all that odd of a thing to say, all Knockout had said was that Sunstorm was a nice kid, which he was. Why would he be surprised about hearing...oh, yeah. Breakdown had forgotten for a second who Sunstorm was related to.
"Bet you don't hear that too often, do you?" Breakdown asks.
Sunstorm blinks and looks at Breakdown, "Uh, no," He says, "I always hear sycophant, bootlicker, suck-up, and a bunch of others."
"Yeah, I would think so." Breakdown chuckles, "A lot of people would see the way you act that way. I guess they don't realize that if you were a suck-up, then you would be sucking-up to every single person you come across." Sunstorm looked confused, so Breakdown tries to explain.
"Look, whenever you talk to someone, you always throw in a comment about how awesome or smart or whatever they are." Breakdown says. "But people don't notice that every single thing you say about them is entirely true, you don't lie or stretch the truth, you tell it like it is. Do you know what that means?"
Sunstorm shakes his head. Was that supposed to mean something special? Because if it did, Sunstorm had no idea what it was. Breakdown grins and puts his arm around Sunstorm's shoulder, even though Sunny was much shorter than he was.
"It means you have a special gift," Breakdown says, "Which I'm not sure how you got, considering the rest of your siblings don't have it at all."
"A gift?" Sunstorm asks, okay, he was confused now, "How is this a gift."
"You see the good and awesome in everyone," Breakdown says, "Even people who seem like the most pathetic weak people who don't seem to be good at anything, you're able to see what they're good at, and you let them know."
"If it's a gift, then why do my siblings get so annoyed by it?" Sunny asks.
"Well, let's be honest, wouldn't you find it annoying to be dogged around by a bootlicker?" Breakdown says seriously, but then he ruffles Sunny's hair and says "But I'm telling you right now, never change, I know that Knockout for one will never get tired of your sycophant ways. He knows he's awesome, but he loves to hear that others notice it too."
"Yeah, so does Starscream." Sunstorm laughs.
"No way, Screamer?" Breakdown asks with a small laugh, "Yeah, I guess he would like that. Now come on, let's go up and join everyone else, enough sitting around down here, 'cause what kind of fun is that?" And with that Breakdown heads upstairs with Sunstorm close at his heels. While Breakdown went to join Thundercracker and Hothead, Sunstorm headed for Starscream's room. Sure, Thunder wouldn't be happy about it, but you know what? Thundercracker, as cool as he was at times, would have to get over it, because Sunstorm wanted to hang out with Starscream today, so that's what he was going to do.
Hey, how was that? I'm really not sure, but I just had to write something for Sunny, I'm not sure how good it was though. You know, this is the second chapter where I've had Starscream and Thundercracker be in the middle of a fight with each other, I should probably have them make up at one point...once I figure out what they're fighting about.
