Hey guys. So it has been a while, but I am back. If you hadn't seen, I am planning a new Fanfiction which should be coming soon, but this will not be put on hiatus. I am really feeling a need to finish this, so the two will be put out just at a slower pace. Sorry, but hopefully I will get a schedule going. I know that I've been saying that for a while, but I actually got more done at school last year, so I should do the same this year. Anyway, I still don't own PJO or any of the characters. Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 14: Documents and Discoveries

Percy

The next day I was exhausted. That's not exactly surprising though. Any time you go to bed at 2:45 AM and have to get up at 7, you're going to have a problem. I just about fell asleep in Mr. Chase's car. If it wasn't for Annabeth, I would have. After the third time she shoved me awake, Mr. Chase looked back. "You okay back there, Percy?" He asked, looking through the rear-view.

"Yeah," I responded, "I just didn't get much rest last night." My hand raked through my hair. "Sorry, Mr. Chase."

He smiled. "It's fine, Percy." He looked back down at the street as he muttered "Just wait until college." I tried to pretend I couldn't hear him, but I could help but smile. I resorted to leaning on Annabeth's shoulder to keep myself up.

As we pulled up to the school, she pushed me off of her shoulder. "Get out Seaweed Brain."

As I staggered out, I heard Mr. Chase say "Hey Annie, make sure he gets to class okay, alright." She nodded and rushed out of the car.

"You know," I said as she ran up next to me, "I've always found that nickname adorable."

She stopped and gave me a death glare. She had always hated it. In fact, she had asked her dad to refrain from calling her it in front of me. Little slips like that happened though. And they would always make me smile.

As we walked into school I saw Clarisse standing alone in the corner. She glared as I walked past, as if I were a bug that needed to be squashed. I glared back. We were caught in a contest until a slender hand tapped her on the shoulder. There stood Silena Beauregard. The two were best friends, and absolutely nobody knew why. Silena was everything Clarisse wasn't. I mean, you know what she looked like. She's why we're here right now. You've seen her with blonde hair, though she dyed it in between then and now. She was rocking the natural black locks that day. She waved to me, and waved back. And just like that the tension was broken.

Jason Grace, in his favorite Superman shirt, was waiting for me at my locker. He had an exited look on his face, almost like when you've solved a mystery and you can't wait to share. Once I got to my locker, he pounced. "Percy," he practically screamed, "you will never guess what I just found out."

I chuckled at his excitement as I opened my locker. "You're probably right." I said, "What did you find out?" The words almost came out as a sigh. You see, Jason was usually very calm and collected, but that was only because he had seen it all before. Any wild thing in school was usually topped by some wild story about Leo, or someone from another foster home that he had been to. But when something surprised him, or if he figured out something that had been bugging him, he would get to levels of hyperactivity rivaled only by Leo.

I braced myself for a rant, but before he started, Leo walked up to us. Suddenly Jason straightened up and stopped talking. That was very odd. When Jason got exited, it was nearly impossible to calm him back down. Leo noticed it too, I guess. "Just finishing a rant?" He asked. One eyebrow arced up, as if to punctuate the question. Of course, this only made him look more like an elf from a 1960's Christmas Special.

Jason nodded quickly, stepping away from us. "I gotta get to class." he said. "See you guys later." He went off in a flash.

Leo pushed his curly hair up on his forehead, his eyebrows knitted in confusion. He shrugged it off and gave me a smile. "He's right. You're gonna be late too if ya don't hurry." With that, Leo raced off as well.

First period math was uneventful. I guess sense Selina was here today, Clarisse didn't have to bother me like she did the day before. Either that, or she was just as confused with this shit as I was. On my way to my next class, I heard someone call "Jackson!" from the bathrooms.

I approached the voice, knowing who it was already. "What is it Jason?"

Jason poked his head out of the far stall. "Is Leo with you?" He asked. I shook my head. "Good." He said. "I don't know if I should tell him."

"What is it, Jason?"

"Ok, well you know how Calypso said she's been visiting her sister at the hospital?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Well I just found her file." He said. "Zoe Nightshade has been dead for two years."

As soon as I heard it, I remembered. I don't really know how I forgot. I mean, I had gone to her funeral. "Wait," I said, "So why is she going to the hospital?"

"That's the million dollar question now, isn't it?" Jason replied. "And I might have the answer." He reached into his backpack and pulled out a medical report on Calypso. His eyebrows wiggled, almost saying look at the rule I definitely just broke. I think he learned that from Leo.

"How did you get this file?" I asked.

"There's this nurse at the hospital. She owed me a few favors, so I asked her to get me into the records room." He explained. "I just was always suspicious of her story about visiting her sister. Plus, Nico was saying that he really wanted to see his file. Kill two birds with one stone, you know."

"So, what exactly does she have?" I asked. "The file doesn't say."

"I'm not sure." He said. "I say we ask her."

Then a voice from a stall came shouted out. "Is this what you were so paranoid about hiding?" The stall door at the end swung open to find a mix of curly hair and bronze skin. It was Leo Valdez.

To be continued…

The writer's block was strong in this one. I have been stuck on one sentence for like an entire month. I was so close to finishing, but I finally got it done. So tell me what you think in the comments. See you all next time. Make good decisions. Peace!
