Author's Note: I just want to say I'm very sorry for my postponement of this fanfiction. However school, video games, and Youtube have led to this delay. However, since my editing software dicked out on me I have to look for a new one AND BOY IS IT HARD! So I've come back due to extra time and stress with editing software. (I love updating this fanfiction though just in case it sounds like I don't.) So here I am. I want to say I'm VERY thankful for your support so far this is very fun to make and I can't wait to see what the future has in store. This chapter will be about how those drones acted so foolishly, so here you go.

At the time of Quartz' and Lapis' capture: Slate wondered up and down Lewa City. Lewa City was one of the most beautiful places in Gabbro. It was surrounded by forest for many miles and a good deal of it was made out of wood. The wood bridges connected the city to itself because of half of it being on the ground and half of it being on cliffs. The architecture of it was simply amazing every house shined. Lewa City also had a gym; it was situated in a gigantic treehouse in the middle part of the city. Slate planned to challenge the gym but with just one concern, he only had Snaklion, according to his knowledge Snaklion took much longer to evolve and this was a prime example of it. He had no other pokémon as well which would put him at a huge disadvantage, Snaklion was also a grass type and since the gym was undoubtedly grass type that would make his situation even worse.

"Maybe I should go see if I can catch anything, I mean, it's about time I got someone else on my team, Quartz has Magikan and Dratinsplash, (Remember he doesn't know of their situation so I'm not screwing up.) Lapis has, well, actually Lapis still only has one pokémon." said Slate.

Slate walked forward feeling better about himself knowing that he was not the only one of their group if you'll call it that that didn't have a second pokémon. Suddenly though that good feeling was washed away as he heard a loud yell coming from nearby. Slate turned his head and saw police officers running down a street across from him. Slate decided to follow the officers as he pursued.

He eventually found them taking cover behind some large slabs used for decoration in the city. A police officer saw Slate and made a hand motion telling Slate to come take cover. Slate, like any regular person, obeyed the officer's order and took cover.

"Kid, what the heck are you doing here!?" yelled the officer.

"Um… I was just… curious." Slate stuttered, realizing how stupid he was being by the second.

"Fine, fine, I would tell you to leave but criminals have taken over this small section of town, and we don't want anything to happen to anyone who tries to run." said the officer.

"Could I help with this?" asked Slate, seeing as he couldn't leave.

"No way, we can't risk any casualties, these are criminals, out of your league trainer." said another officer.

"That's true but a lot of criminals I've heard of result to pokémon battles, so there's a good chance they'll be like one of those groups." said Slate.

"The teen's right, they're using pokémon to block the entrances." said yet another officer.

"Who DOESN'T use pokémon to guard, just because they use creatures more powerful than us to do their bidding doesn't mean they'll resort to something like pokémon battles if they see you!" said the first officer.

"Listen, if they catch on to me I'll get out of there as fast as I can." said Slate.

"I said NO and that's final. Someone start a diversion to get this teenager out of here!" yelled the first officer.

One of the officers obeyed the first and shot a blank at one of the buildings, the first officer escorted Slate out of the occupied premises.

"Well, I might as well obey his orders. I mean why wouldn't I, they're cops." said Slate as he walked down the street.

Slate decided not to go back to the police filled section of the city yet so he decided to go to a shop to buy some potions and pokéballs, capturing a second pokémon was now a huge goal for him. It then occurred to him while walking out the shop that this was going to be harder than just walking up to a random pokémon and throwing a pokéball at it, he would have to consider the type of every pokémon he ran into and what it would do for his team. He couldn't go back on other routes to find one as it might take him longer than it should and since there were criminals nearby that seemed like a really foolish option.

He eventually settled on just exploring the city for the rest of the day so he wouldn't get lost. He was walking on the edge of the wooden "roads" but then a hand was put over his mouth and he was dragged into an ally.

"Good, very good, he'll like them younger as they wouldn't want to take any unnecessary risks. Perfect hostage qualification, you're coming with me and don't think about trying to call for help, we've all been combat trained and those stupid police sectioned almost all of their forces in our controlled area of town." said a man in a strange outfit. The outfit was a light and dark gray suit with a big gear in the middle. Then on the sleeves there were sharp triangle shapes that went up to the shoulders. Slate suddenly realized that this uniform was the same as the uniforms on the people who had tried to kidnap Professor Oak. He carried Slate for a little while until they reached a big building that had a poster with the same gear and m symbol on it, the poster had obviously been very sloppily put on for the sake of time constraints, and Slate knew that this would be the criminals' headquarters. Slate saw at the entrance that pokémon were positioned there with their trainers to give the pokémon commands as to who to attack and who to not. The man brought Slate in and took him upstairs and took him to a room with other people in it, a couple grown men and woman were there and Slate immediately assumed these were the other hostages. There were pokémon separating the hostages from one another and another man in the room who was probably the pokémon trainer of the many that were there.

"Hey, got another one, you just put him near the others and I'll go tell our announcer to tell the police we've got someone who still has a lot of life left in him." said the man who had brought Slate there.

He walked out of the room and then the "warden" dragged Slate over to an empty spot in the room. He plopped him down there and then walked away to lean on his spot on the wall. Slate geussed that his situation was hopeless until some police came in to bust him out, which would probably take a little while, so he just decided to behave for the nice criminals until there was an opportunity.
