Quartz and Lapis continued on to Lewa City that day, it was 3:00 PM when they arrived. They had just barely explored anything of the forest city when someone ran up to Quartz and almost bumped into him.
"GUYS, you'll never guess what happened!" yelled Slate as he tried to keep his balance.
"We were just about to say the same thing Slate, but you seem to have a story to tell too..." said Lapis, surprised of the sudden appearance.
"Really, well then in that case should we go to a restaurant or cafe to talk about our stories?" asked Slate.
"Sure, my dad told me about a good cafe, uh, the Soaked Branch it was called I believe." said Quartz.
"Alright then come on, I was hungry anyways." said Lapis as she prepared to follow Quartz to the cafe.
The three sat down at a table and while waiting for their orders, started telling their tales, Slate's a tale of capture and escape, Quartz and Lapis' a tale of helping pokemon from being abducted and destroying a ship. All three kept the fact that both included the mysterious men in suits in their heads. When Quartz mentioned how confused he was about the droids behavior Slate piped up.
"Hang on, remember I said I helped capture, one of the police officers hacked it. That's probably why they were crashing into everything, that means you're in my debt "Mr. Up and Coming Champion"better start training as a waiter." said Slate, gloating on how he helped the two.
"Not if I can help it." said Quartz.
"Guys hang on, this is like the fourth time we've seen those guys in the suits. Each time it's more and more serious, I think we should you know make a pact or something to try and stop these criminals if we ever see them." said Lapis.
"I don't know Lapis don't you think that might... interfere with the authorities." said Quartz.
"No, there's nothing wrong with stopping criminals that the authorities won't stop at first! We JUST stopped a criminal activity and we helped save Professor Oak!" said Lapis in an annoyed voice.
"Well I thought those would only be one time things with idiots thinking they could start a gang but this sounds like a professional criminal upcoming organization now." Quartz said sheepishly.
"Well that's just-" but Lapis stopped there, she'd heard that tone before, Quartz used that tone whenever something about trying to always stop bigcriminal organizations were mentioned.
Slate was just sitting at the table, not knowing what the heck was going on when Lapis said: "Quartz, could I just talk with you quickly." said Lapis.
"Sure," said Quartz and they got up to go somewhere where it would be harder to overhear them.
"Fine leave me out of your drama club, why can't I join in?" Slate said to himself, jealous that he was being left out of the conversation.
Quartz and Lapis went into a corner.
"Quartz, I know how your father always taught you to not interfere with criminals, I mean due to your on family being involved in criminal activities like this I fully understand, but you can't just back out of stopping criminals just because of that, you have to give the view that you'll get in trouble with your dad up." said Lapis in a quiet tone.
"Lapis it's not because of that my dad already knows he's taught me not to get involved and I knowwhy and understand why too, but it's not just that simple it's never has been just that." said Quartz, annoyed at Lapis' attempts to truly understand his family's history, what did she know, her father hadn't gotten involved in a family crime organization, but then again, he had never told her the full story of why he was afraid to interfere with criminals like these.
"Then what is it about?!" said Lapis.
"I... never really told you the whole explanation of my dad's criminal past..." said Quartz, trying to avoid Lapis' eyes.
"WHAT!?" yelled Lapis,
Everyone's eyes turned to them and blushing Lapis muttered sorry loud enough for everyone to hear and got back to the conversation.
"It's... well... the reason is the person who was in CHARGE of recruiting my father..." said Quartz.
"Well you never told me, I don't see why that's such a bad thing, besides, you told me that that criminal organization operated ONLY in Unova but while it was still very small the leaders got arrested and it fell apart a little while after your dad backed out, so why would you be scared of the person who got your father to join?" asked Lapis.
"It goes deeper than just him being a criminal leader..." said Quartz,
"What do you mean?" asked Lapis.
"I'm not ready to tell you, I'm sorry it's just... I'll deal with it myself. It won't come up anymore..." said Quartz.
"Why not! I'm your best friend you can trust me with it!" said Lapis, raising her voice in annoyance.
"I trust you with everything else, you are my best friend, but I just think you might, you know, let it loose at some point and that information would... spread... people would look down on my family and we would lose even more, well, "likability" which might cause work losses because of people hating what we did..." said Quartz, trying to convince Lapis.
"Well fine, I wouldn't let it slip but fine. I guess maybe one day I'll understand..." said Lapis, stung.
The two went back to sit down at their table where Slate was waiting.
"So are we going to form this "alliance" guys?" asked Slate, over his jealousy.
"Yes, it's not really an alliance just an agreement to stop these criminals whenever we see them." said Lapis.
"OK, I can do that." said Slate.
So the three both agreed to said agreement when they put one of their hands in the center of the table in a typical agreement way and went out of the Cafeteria into Lewa City after a late lunch.
