I understand a lot of you believe things moved too fast...yeah well get over it :D

Also, I personally think this chapter is crap, but I couldn't get anything better out.

I awoke with a sick feeling in my gut. I felt heavy, guilty, like I had done something horrible, but I didn't know what. I yawned loudly and stretched, slowly realizing that I was in the nude. At first, this didn't phase me, But then I turned my head. I sucked in a breath when I saw Katara's uncovered form sleeping beside me. . This is not good.

"Mmm..." Katara groaned beside me and her eyes flitted open. Her eyes met mine and she smiled, letting out a yawn. "Good morning, Avatar," she crooned. She threw her arms out into a stretch and gasped when she realized her lack of clothing. She pulled up the blanket to cover herself.

I stood, pulling on my pants as I did. I flung open the door, sprinting outside to release the contents in my stomach. I returned to her room, gripping my abdomen. "I think something was in that tea..."

"Like?" Katara asked as she wrapped her bindings around her chest.

I shook my head. "I don't know, but I have no memory of what happened last night. None at all."

Katara slowly nodded, mouthing the word "oh".

A loud bang came from Sokka's home next door. Not two seconds later, he came running into the room. "Yue is gone!" He paused, noticing my shirtless form and Katara's attempt to hide her indecent exposures. He turned to me. "I'll kill you later, but for now, we have to find Yue!"

"Let me get dressed first!" I snapped and snatched up my clothing. "I have an expli-"

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!" Sokka said, plugging his ears and wandering to the living area to wait impatiently.

"Katara..." I mused, my worried gaze moving to hers.

She shook her head. "Aang, what happened last can't be changed. No matter how much of a mistake it was, we have to live with it."

"But...I don't exactly know what happened..."

"Can't you figure it out?" she snapped. "You're not exactly twelve years old anymore, Aang!"

I chose to say nothing and I awkwardly helped her with her bindings and then handed her the clothing that was strewn across the floor, keeping my eyes off of her body. We hesitantly walked out to the living area where Sokka paced impatiently.

"Finally!" He shouted. "Come! We must notify Suki of Yue's disappearance!"

"Sokka?" A tiny voice came from behind him.

I raised my eyebrow when Yue came into view, was Sokka freaking out over nothing? Again?

"Yue!" Sokka pulled her into a hug. "Are you hurt? Are you all right?"

I watched as Katara made her way over to the table in the corner of the room. She picked up what looked to be a folded piece of paper and and opened it. Her face remained unchanged as she tucked it into her side.

"I'm fine, Sokka. I just went to the bathroom..."

Katara snorted and Sokka whirled around.

"Don't you laugh at me, little sister! Care to tell me what happened last night?" he hollered, raising a finger at me.

"Sokka, did you drink some of that tea last night?" I asked.

He blushed and nodded.

Yue's face blanched behind him.

"Yue?" Katara asked "What's wrong?"

"I may have slipped something in there for Sokka but ended up giving it to Aang..."

I moved to say something but the front door being thrown open cut me off.

"Avatar Aang!" Suki burst into the room. "Avatar, Appa's been hurt!"

I was out of that room faster than lightning. I rushed to Appa's make shift home, jumping the fence and rushing to his side. With one look at his tail I knew it had been burned, and judging by how unresponsive Appa was, it wasn't a light burn at all.

The Fire Nation traitors would pay for this.

Water soon engulfed his tail as Katara rushed up to Appa's side, gently massaging his tail with the water.

"Hey buddy," I crooned to him when he groaned in pain. I rubbed his nose with one hand and buried my body into his soft fur. "I'm sorry for all this," I whispered. "Only if I hadn't of gone to her last night, you wouldn't have been hurt."

Appa grunted in agreement and I laughed softly.

Minutes passed before Katara made her way to his side. "Aang, the burns on his tail won't heal as well as Zuko's did. It'll be a few weeks before he can fly us anywhere."

I nodded and Sokka walked up beside me. "Who would ever do such a thing?"

"Someone who want's the Avatar to stay put," Yue answered. Her flippant tone made it seem like that was the most obvious answer in the world. Im sure she didn't intend to sound like that, but I was still annoyed. I never recalled for Yue to be such...well, such a bitch. I'd only spent limited time with her in the past, but she was always the nicest and sweetest girl. I don't understand what changed that. Then again, it could just be her jealousy talking.

Sokka frowned and looked from Appa, to Zuko's cabin. "I think I'll have a talk with our fire bending friend over there..." he moved toward Zuko's home but I stopped him. In doing so, I notice a thick black cloud rising from the sea. A Fire Nation ship.

"Sokka..." I mused, pointing toward the sea.

He swore loudly. "How did we not hear their arrival?"

I shook my head sadly. "I don't know, Sokka. I simply don't know."

Sokka gave me a half hearted shrug and wandered off with Yue and Suki.

Katara took my hand in hers, gently rubbing my arm with her other hand. "He'll be okay, Aang, don't worry."

I nodded. "I am worried about Appa, but I'm more worried about what may happen while I'm stuck here."

"What do you mean?"

"What was in that note?" I asked, it had been eating at me ever since she picked it up.

She looked taken aback. "What note?" her tone suddenly turned defensive. "Aang, what are you talking about?"

"Katara, please, you know what I'm talking about!"

She frowned. "Aang, I'm not going to answer your foolish questions until you explain yourself!"

I gave an exasperated sigh but complied. "I'm the only thing that stands between this peaceful world and a world of war. If I can't get off this island, then I can't keep this world at peace."

"We can take the next trading ship to the main land. I'm sure the Earth King would be happy to help us!" she insisted, a small smirk playing on her lips. I hated that triumphant look of hers.

"No! Katara, that would take weeks! We don't have weeks! If anything we have days before the Fire and Water nations put an attack into action. In weeks another element could be wiped out!"

"Well what else can we do, Aang? Appa can't fly and you seem to think that sitting here doing nothing is the best option!"

"I can't leave my best friend!" I snapped, tugging myself away from her.

Katara's body hunched over and her eyes turned into slits of annoyance. "Aang, Appa is just an animal."

"No, he's not just an animal. He means more to me than you'll ever know. Unlike you, he's stuck by my side for my entire life."

Katara up righted herself, positioning her hands on her hips. "Well, lucky for Appa he had that option. I however had no choice!" her voice rose into an angry scream.

I looked away, focusing on the grass that moved with the breeze. "Just go away, Katara."

"How very like you, Aang!" she snapped. "Always pushing me away at a time where you need me most! When are you going to finally let me in? You know all I want is what's best for you..."

"Aang?"

I whirled around to find Coco standing beside a tired Appa. "Coco...hi."

Katara's eyes narrowed, shooting glares at the girl in front of us.

She walked up to my side, taking my arm. "Is this girl bothering you?" she asked, a possessive tone taking her voice.

"Coco, now is not the time."

"Then when is? You left without even giving me a proper good bye!"

La, why do you hate me?

Water shot out from my left, snaking around me and whacking Coco in the back of the head.

"Katara!" I snapped, my eyes widening in shock. "What are you doing?"

She shook her head. "Forget it, Aang, I'll let you alone to be with your girlfriend."

"Katara, wait I-"

But she was already gone, storming off towards the town.

I turned toward the young woman in front of me, whose face was practically glowing from Katara's comment.

"You told her I'm your girlfriend?" she giggled, flinging her arms around my neck.

I ducked out of her grasp and sighed. "Coco, I never told her that. If anything she is my girlfriend, not you."

Coco stepped back. "I see."

I shrugged slowly. What a morning this was turning out to be.

"All those nights in the alley?"

I raised my eyebrow at her. "What nights? Coco, I never did anything with you! All you ever did was follow me around and rage on and on about how amazing I was and how all you wanted was for me to pick you to be my wife!"

Coco gave a sly smile. "But she doesn't know that," she said quietly.

"Coco, please. Don't do this."

She grinned evilly and sprinted off, leaving me alone with Appa.

I groaned and jumped onto Appa's head, collapsing onto my stomach. "Ugh Appa, This had been possibly the worst few days of my life. First, I find out that Lu Ten is just and evil bastard that's searching for world domination, Zuko gets attacked, I finally get to be with Katara, but that turns and bites me in the ass, I get drugged and end up having sex with the girl I love-"

Appa grunted, raising his head slightly.

"I know, I should be thrilled about that, right? I don't know, buddy. Last night was a mistake and I don't know why I didn't stop myself. Stupid Yue, if she hadn't been so foolish! Ugh! Appa, I don't get how we could have fallen prey to that! I mean, if I hadn't had any of the tea you wouldn't be hurt and Katara and I wouldn't have had that fight! What a mess my life is turning out to be. Actually, the whole world is turning out to be."

Appa seemed to grunt in agreement and then let out a loud yawn.

I jumped of and hid myself in his fur. "Thanks, buddy. I'll come back later." I gently patted his nose and slowly walked back to the village. I needed to talk to Zuko.

I arrived at Zuko's home and instead of invading his room, I collapsed onto the couch that seemed so inviting. I passed out and by the time I awoke, the sun was low in the sky. Zuko sat across from me, his leg folded so that it rested on his knee. He gave me a weak smile and nodded as I sat up. He asked me what was wrong when he noticed my distraught face and I launched into my story.

"You two did what?"

I nodded. "It was a mistake, but yeah, we did."

"She could get pregnant, Aang, you realize that, right?"

I nodded. "Yes, I realize this and I'm hoping that we get lucky and that doesn't happen. A child cannot and should not be conceived and born in this world. Not until it is fixed."

Zuko nodded in agreement. He held up a letter and tossed it in my direction. "This came from my father. I assume it left the Fire Nation shortly after we did."

I read it and gasped. "He's part of it?"

Zuko nodded. "They're holding Iroh captive at the boiling rock. Once Appa is better be have to go after him."

"Of course," I assured. "I'm not going to leave Iroh behind. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to fire bend."

We sat in silence for a few minutes. His hands drummed the table impatiently.

"Zuko, do you think they're going to follow us?"

Zuko nodded. "They already know where we are. It's only a matter of days before they make an attack."

I let out a frustrated sigh and leaned back in my chair.

Zuko looked at my sympathetically and stood. "You're welcome to stay here as long as you like, but you can't avoid Katara forever."

I nodded. "Zuko, there are plenty of things I wish I could avoid but can't."

He shrugged and wandered out of the house.

It must have been at least an hour or so before the outside world pulled at my consciousness. I, however, refused to acknowledge it.

Until I recognized the screaming voices.

Damn it, Coco.

I sprinted outside to find Katara and Coco tangled in each others arms, throwing fists like there was no tomorrow. Random spurts of water would come out between them, but a fan would quickly block it.

"You little whore!" Katara was screaming as she pounded her fist against Coco's face.

"ENOUGH!" I cried, bending the air, causing them to separate. A wall of earth kept the two separated, which focused their attention on me. "Stop it!" I cried. "You two need to calm down and stop bickering! You two barely just met and I'm sure if it was in a different context you would be great friends. Stop acting like it's the end of the world or else I will make it the end of your world!"

The earth dividing them crumbled and the two glared at me.

Coco stormed off in anger while Katara sauntered toward me. The streets emptied by the time she spoke.

"Aang, I'm sorry," she said, barely above a whisper. She pressed a small kiss to my lips and ran off toward the beach.

I returned to Zuko's cabin, frustrated tears streaming down my face. Katara was acting so weird. It was like her mood was all over the place. I sat back down on the couch, my head buried in my hands. I felt someone sit beside me and looked up to see Mai.

"Aang, you've really gotten yourself into quite a mess," she noted, pulling a note from her sleeve. "Here, Katara asked me to give you this."

I took it from her hand and she left the room, gently patting my shoulder as she did.

I unfolded the note and sighed when I read it.

Aang, I'm sorry for last night, I'm sorry for being so cruel to you about Appa.

I'm sorry for everything, even this.

I don't know if or when I'll be back.

I love you.

I ran. I ran back to the house, only to find it empty. I swore loudly and ran next door.

"Sokka! Sokka have you seen Katara?" I cried, bracing myself against his door frame.

He shook his head. "I thought she was with you!"

I swore. "Sokka, she ran away."

I stood on the beach, staring into the blue abyss. The waves lapped against my feet as I stood with my hands shoved in my pocket. The sun was setting on the horizon and still Katara was nowhere to be found. I had spent hours on my glider searching for her but found nothing. I hated not knowing where she was, if she was safe, if she was warm enough, but most of all I hated believing that I drove her away.

I inhaled the salty air around me and sighed. I felt like such a fool. I clutched the note to my chest, the rough paper biting into my hand.

The entire town had searched until nightfall, meanwhile I searched until I was too tired to bend anymore. I scoured the beach afterward, but there I found nothing. I went as far up the coast as I could get, searching every cave I could find, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Where could she be?

Ehhh I still say this is a POS but I wanted to get one more up before I headed off on my Christmas adventures with the fambam.

I also feel that it's unclear, but I didn't know how to make it any more clear...
