Guys, I REALLY have to apologize right now. I am SO sorry for the delay of this chapter, it's just that with basketball season having started and me having so much homework, I have found very little time to write anymore. I also got stuck about halfway through the chapter, so that also pushed putting out this chapter longer. But I have to thank you guys for being so patient. I know it's been a month, but please understand.
Anyways, here is the next chapter! Like I said the last chapter, I was going to have a couple quotes in this chapter. If you can guess all three of the quotes in this chapter (by naming the quote from the chapter and what video it was in; you can get pretty close and I will accept it), then you can win either the chance to know my real name, get the chance to maybe check out my YouTube channel when it first comes out, perhaps get the chance to record a video with me at some point in the next year (or couple months), or something else like that. I wish you the best of luck, viewers! Enjoy Chapter 6 :)
Oh, and special thanks to my co-writer KittyJen for helping me get out of Writer's Block. :)
Sky's POV-
That night was very long and boring. My friends, shortly after we had that speech, began to set out their sleeping bags for the night. It didn't help that everyone was depressed and exhausted from running for miles and miles away from the now collapsed CubeCity, and it especially didn't help when a large, icy gust of wind began to hit us right then. I shivered violently. Winter was coming in, I knew that for sure. I was just hoping that we weren't still running as refugees when the major ice storms would attack Minecraftia. Looking around, I then sighed deeply. Running my fingers through my hair, I surveyed who was in our group. After counting all of my friends, I realized that a couple of my friends were not there. I was shocked. They all were here with us before we left CubeCity, I had counted all of them before we left. Where could they have gone? I did not see that David guy that was with us only a couple hours earlier (I was actually surprised that he was conscious, because the head wound that he gained would have kept him knocked out for a long time...), Bodil, Simon, Gizzy, Ashely, xRpMx13, and that Alix guy that had saved that David guy. Alix seemed familiar to me somehow, but I couldn't figure out what was familiar about him right then when we were running away from the Squids and Nether mobs. Breathing in, I closed my eyes in annoyance. How could I be that stupid to let them get away from my group?
Right then, I heard someone walk up to me. Opening my eyes, I looked up to my sister, Sierra. She sat down next to me, then looking up to the clearing sky above us. We sat in silence for a couple minutes, listening to the soft crackling of the small fire that Jerome had made. I was suprised that the jungle hasn't burnt up yet. It must be because Jerome lives in trees that he knows what to do to keep the fire in that pit and not spreading elsewhere. It truly amazed me how much talent my friends had. Occasionally, we would hear a mob far below us, but other than that, it was quite peaceful. Finally, Sierra exhaled loudly. "Wow... I... can't believe the day we just had today. It almost seems... unreal," She said, brushing her bangs out of her face. I nodded in agreement.
I stared up at the magnificent moon. It was beautiful. But my sister seemed to be troubled, so I decided to make her feel better. "Wow. Look... at that bird! It's awesome!" I then said, pointing to a large bird that was crossing across the moon at that moment. Sierra chuckled, and then her smile turned once more into a frown. I frowned as well. "Sorry, just tried to make you feel better, Si," I softly said. She nodded, and then shrugged, as if saying, "Thanks-for-trying-anyways". "But, it happened. That's the sad part. The city, the citizens burning in the Block Towers..." I began to choke up. After breathing in deeply to control my emotions, I then finished, saying, "That all actually happened. No matter how much we keep on telling ourselves that it was all a dream, it... all...happened."
Sierra looked over to me as I then tried to clear away my tears. I was kinda embarrassed. I had never actually cried before in front of my ssiter. It was extremely strange and different. She reached over to me, and grasped onto my hands comfortingly. "Sky, Adam, you are the strongest person I know. You know what you want, and no matter what it takes, you will get it done. Those thousands of people in the towers, I know you wanted to save them. Same with Bajan. There are times, however, when you cannot achieve the thing you set your heart and mind to. But you have to learn to take that trial and learn from it. You have to grow from that experience," Sierra then said, smiling towards me. But even her comforting words didn't help me. The image of the burning building and the screams of the dying were plastered to my mind. No matter what I did, they wouldn't vanish. They were like a grape stain on a clean white shirt; impossible to get off.
I looked back in the direction of CubeCity, seeing the smoke from the still-burning city rise into the sky. I even saw some Ghasts as they circled above the burning wasteland. Anger burned through me at that moment. "This is all Herobrine's and the Squids' faults. If it weren't for them, the city would still be standing and thousands of people would still be living," I hissed. Sierra creased her eyebrows in worry.
"Sky, that's not what I mea-"
"Of course! We have to get to Notch to destroy the Squids and defeat Herobrine! That is a must, now. I knew before that we had to destroy Herobrine, but before this we had the Squid attack on CubeCity a couple weeks ago. The stupid Squids went to Herobrine for assistance in getting whatever they want. That's what happened! Now both of them must go down," I said, then standing up.
Sierra stood up with me, looking extremely worried. "Sky, that wasn't what I meant at all. It may be true that the Squids got Herobrine to help them destroy the city, but we don't need to seek blood on both groups. Let's not cause more trouble than what we are already in, brother."
Taking in a deep breath, I then nodded slightly. "I'm sorry, Sierra... I don't know what came over me. I guess that the buried anger on what happened just leaked out," I said, looking up to the sky again.
"'Leaked out'? That was more of a flood than a leak," Sierra said. I laughed quickly.
"Let's just try to survive for now. Let us not worry about killing Herobrine or Derpollolus until after we talk to AntVenom and we summon Notch and his army. Now go and get some sleep, Si. Save up your energy for tomorrow. We will be traveling a long time to get to where Ant's base is. I will see you in the morning." I nodded in the direction of where everyone else was already sleeping. Sierra nodded in agreement, and then I gave her a quick hug. After that, she walked off, and went to talk to Jen, who was surprisingly still awake.
Placing my hands on my waist, I then closed my eyes once again. "And after we find AntVenom, I will seek vengeance on Herobrine for old actions on my family..."
Bodil's POV-
"Run, Simon, run!" I yelled, holding myself up by simple vines on the jungle tree that I was on.
Simon was running extremely fast, jumping constantly to avoid the arrows that the skeletons were shooting towards him. "I'm running as fast as I can, Bodil!" Simon yelled, doing a double side flip off of one of the jungle tree trunks to slam his foot into a Zombie's head. The Zombie crumbled down to the ground, but he was quickly replaced by three other Zombies.
"Simon, grab my hand!" I yelled, thrusting my hand out to my best friend. After a moment, Simon ran towards me, leaping up high in the air. Simon's hand clasped onto mine, and I quickly pulled my friend up into the safety of the jungle tree we were taking refuge in.
I sat back against the trunk, exhaling loudly. "Whew, that was way too close, Simon," Gizzy said, worry and terror laced into his expression.
Simon nodded, and then he smiled towards me. "But did you see those epic parkour skills? That was unbelievable!" Simon cried out, grinning like a little boy that just barely opened the best Christmas present ever.
"Enough messing around, boys," A calm British voice then said. Turning my head, I then looked over to Ashley, who was supporting herself on a thin branch by holding onto another, thicker branch. "We have to get out of this situation. Sky and the others are probably already ten miles ahead of us. Most of us know that they have great endurance, and unless danger stands in their way, they won't stop running. We have to catch up to them before they get too far ahead."
"But how, Ashley?" I asked her. "We don't know what direction they went in, where they are going, and how long it will take them to get there. If we go even slightly off the path they went on, whatever path they went on, we could be forever lost."
The young girl looked over to me, her aqua-blue eyes filled with hope and strength. "We have to try. Maybe they left markers for us to follow, maybe they gave us a clue to where they are going. But if we just sit on our fat arses, we won't get anywhere," She said softly. Simon, Gizzy and I looked down to the ground, shame overcoming us. We guys had basically given up, while the only girl clung to the small chance of survival and hope. Little did I know that this similar occurrence would happen many times on our long and perilous journey.
Ashley stared at the moon as it slowly rose into the sky. Soft, silvery light coated her, giving her injured face a heavenly glow. "We should head out soon. Sky and the others must be asleep by now. Maybe, if we are lucky, we can get to where they are by morning."
We all nodded. Pushing ourselves up, we then began to jump from treetop to treetop slowly, as my lost foot was slowing me down dramatically. But something still troubled me. Back at Bashur's INN, there were those two boys, Alix and David, that didn't come along with us. I didn't see them running with Sky, nor were they with out small group. What had happened to them?
Alix's POV-
Mobs surrounded me. I constantly heard the moans of Zombies, the hiss of Creepers and Spiders, and the grunts of Zombie Pigmen as I limped my way through the forest. I grasped onto my arm, no longer being able to feel it. When I managed to climb out of the rubble of Bashur's INN, it was pouring hard outside, and over the city, hundreds of Nether mobs were flooding into the streets. I had to get away from them. But my leg was almost completely injured, the bones being crushed from the heavy weight of the timber. I slowly limped away, heading into the forest. Every step was gruesome pain. But I kept pushing forward. Soon, I had walked a good mile into the drenched forest, making very slow progress. All of a sudden, I heard thundering footsteps running past me. I ducked under the cover of the trees, worrying that it was some Zombie Pigmen. But then along with the running, I heard voices. Looking out, I then saw the man that I talked to earlier in Bashur's INN running with a large group of people away from the city. Well, technically he wasn't a man, at least that I knew of. At the front ran a young man, who was soaking wet. He most likely had dark brown hair (although then it looked pitch black), he wore dark sunglasses, black and gray clothes, maroon boots, and a beautiful, glittering gold amulet hanging around his neck. I tried to cry out to them, but my voice didn't carry on the wind to them. They vanished in the thick rain just as fast as they had appeared.
I kept on walking for hours, managing to make it just outside of the barrier of rain, so I no longer was sopping wet. The moon was almost at its peak in the sky, and the fall winds were beginning to blow in on me. Shivering violently, I then grasped onto my necklace. Popping open the lid, I then looked down to the picture of me and my dead brother, Dustin. That picture was taken two years ago, back when we both were in our prime. He was a couple years older than I was, and he was the strongest person I ever knew. Many people always made the mistake in thinking that we were twins. That's how similar we looked. But his life was taken from this world tragically when the Squids attacked CubeCity a year ago. That attack was the strongest one of that time. The Squids crushed many buildings, setting many others on fire. My mother and Dustin were trapped in one of those burning buildings. By the time I got to them, they were already dead or dying. I pulled Dustin out of the building, as my mother could not be saved, and he died in my arms. Tears began to pour down my cheeks at that moment that I looked down to my locket. I thought I was out of tears, having cried a lot before then. Obviously I was very wrong.
Shaking my head, I then tried to clear up my emotions. I couldn't afford to be like this while I was directly in danger's path. All of a sudden, I slipped, and plummeted into a hole that I didn't see in front of me. With my strong left arm, I held myself up, and I stared down at the boiling lava below me. The blasting heat burned my skin and clothes, and immediately my eyes widened in fright. My heart rate sped up 100%, and my breathing became short and shallow. The memory of the time I last fell into lava burst into my mind, and the vivid pain from the experience came to life once more. Some lava jumped up to me, burning me and sending thick waves of pain through my entire body. I began to scream. My body was being burnt by this lava, and I couldn't do anything about it.
Out of nowhere, I felt two hands grasp onto my one good arm, and a moment later, I was pulled away from my burning death. I collapsed onto the grass surrounding the lava pool, completely exhausted and in pain. MY whole entire body burned. I couldn't even describe the pain I was in at that moment.
The person that saved me then shoved a potion to my lips. The cool liquid ran down my throat, removing the pain from my body completely. Opening my eyes, I then looked up to the Minecraftian that was my savior. My body froze with shock. The person was a young girl. She was leaning against a close tree, looking to me with distinguishable worry. She had long, straight brown hair that was slightly frizzed by the humidity in the air, sparkling brown eyes, and light-tan skin. She wore a red and black plaid shirt, blue jeans, brown hiking boots, and she had a beautiful red bow in her hair, which tucked back some longer stands of her bangs. She reminded me strangely of BajanCanadian (as TrueMU only managed to describe a couple of his friends to me before we were crushed).
"Oh, thank Notch, you are alright! I heard your screaming, and when I saw that you were injured and burning right above some lava, I had to help you. Are you OK?" The woman exclaimed, looking to me with concern on her face.
I nodded, wincing in pain. "Yeah. Thanks..." I muttered, then exclaiming my injured body. It was horrible. Beneath the burnt skin, parts of my bone were missing as well, being burnt off. All along my right arm (surprisingly), my legs, and sections of my abdomen were like this. If it weren't for that potion that that girl force-fed me, I wouldn't be able to move without every muscle in my body screaming in agony.
The girl flashed a smile. "Your welcome. Here, let me... attend to your wounds," She said, then approaching me and beginning to assess my injuries. I watched her with curiosity as she did this. She glanced up to me, although I barely noticed because of her bangs hanging in front of her eyes. "My name is Ray, by the way. Ray Anderson."
"I'm Alix. Alix Kreof," I responded.
Ray smiled again. "I love your name. I used to know an Alex long ago..."
"Is it spelled A-L-I-X, or A-L-E-X?"
The young girl shrugged. "Does it matter?" The expression I then gave her answered that completely. Ray sighed. "I believe it was with an E, not an I. So I'm guessing yours is spelled with an I?"
I nodded slightly.
"That's cool."
We kept on talking for about another 10 minutes. Ray told me that my injuries were so severe, that the only thing she could do was wrap my body up with a special salve that would stall the bleeding. So, as I could not possibly move by myself without reopening all of my body wounds, Ray had to help transport me to a safer spot. Slinging my arm around her shoulder, she then carefully lifted me up and we began to make our way slowly through the forest we were in.
When we were about a mile in the jungle biome that adjoined the forest and when the sun was beginning to peak above the far horizon, we finally stopped to rest. Pay climbed up into one of the trees, helping me get up there into safety as well. Once we were up there, she gave me some cooked porkchops, and then she began to re-bandaged my wounds.
"Sorry, Alix," Ray apologized when she accidentally tightened one of the bandages too tight.
"It's fine. I can never thank you enough for taking care of me, Ray. If you didn't save me back there... I probably wouldn't be alive," I then said, looking up to the young girl.
She grinned. "I'm just doing what Notch would do."
I frowned. "Notch... is there even a Notch out there anymore? It doesn't seem like it..."
"Don't lose faith, Alix. Not everything he can stop. Some things are fixed in place, which has to happen in order for other, important stuff to occur," Ray then comforted.
Sighing, I then opened my mouth to say something, but right then, we heard a large explosion go out above us. We both became alarmed, and Ray stood up, looking up to the sky. All of a sudden, we saw a red flare fly up into the sky. It exploded, sending thousands of sparkles in every direction. That flare was not far from us, maybe only a couple miles away.
Ray's eyes lit up. "Of course! Send up a flare to signal your friends! That must be your friends trying to get to your other friends. We should do the same thing, to get you help for your injures." Immediately, she knelt down, and pulled out a flare from her bag. Why she had one in the first place, I will never know. She quickly lit it with a flint and steel, and then a moment later, the flare flew straight up into the air. It exploded in the air, just like the other flare did. A couple minutes later, another flare went up as well. "Hopefully with all three of these flares to signal your friends, we will get help. Let's hope for the best, Alix..."
?'s POV-
I knelt behind some leaves, watching Sky and his group of friends in interest. Most of them were asleep, although only one or two were awake. Keeping watch of their surroundings, I laughed to myself. My prizes looked so peaceful when they slept, even when they were going through hard times. But then I remembered why I was here in the first place. Sitting back, I then sighed. My Master, a while ago, sent me here to this world to assist Sky. That confused me. I knew for a fact that my Master hated him, and it really confused me why he wanted to help him. But I couldn't let them know this just yet. They all thought that I was dead or had horrible amnesia. Yet I was not either one of those. Deep inside of me, I began to debate whether or not I really wanted to do this. Something kept on telling me that this was wrong, but I didn't know what it meant. My Master is truculent, evil, and vicious, all things I look up to him for. But at the same time, it felt... wrong. Groaning, I then buried my head between my knees, letting my blonde hair fall out of place and fall towards the ground. I didn't know which side of me to follow.
Slowly, the sun rose in the sky, and soon, many of the travelers began to wake up. One, which I identified as Ssundee, began to work on crafting and baking something, which confused me. What would he be making at this hour? All seemed normal after most of them woke up, until we heard an explosion. Alarmed, everyone looked up to the sky, even me. A beautiful spray of red sparkles lit the morning sky, disappearing soon after into nothing.
"A signal... a distress signal," I then said to myself, then watching as two more, separated flares burst into the sky. Three different sets of Sky's friends needing assistance from them... I smiled to myself. How peculiar... how very peculiar...
Ssundee's POV-
I stepped back from my beautiful masterpiece, smiling as I gazed upon my cake. Last night, I had the feeling to make a cake when I woke up, and I decided to go along with that feeling. It was a beautiful cake, even for one that was made off of very little resources. The cake was a vanilla cake with chocolate filling, and the top was iced with strawberry icing. On top of the cake, there sat, surrounding the perimeter of the round cake, round chocolate balls. Each one was colored differently than the next, so it was a rainbow cake. I was proud of my work.
All of a sudden, a large crack and explosion erupted from in front of me. Glancing up in alarm, I then witnessed a flare that showered in every direction in the air. Judging by how far away it had originated from the people that had ignited the flare were about 3 miles away from us.
"That must be some of our friends!" Dawn then cried out, pointing to the flare that was beginning to disappear in the air.
"That one as well," Husky then said, gesturing to another flare that soon after exploded in the sky. That one was maybe only a couple miles west of the first one.
By the third one that exploded in the sky, we all knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that the people sending the flares were our friends. The third one was maybe 5 miles away from us, and about 5 to 6 miles from the second one. It was obviously a signal to send help to them, one that all three sets of people needed.
Sky stood up, and then he turned to us. "Guys, that has to be Bodil, Gizzy, Simon, Ashley, Ryan, Alix and maybe David. It could only be them, as so far, we know that they are the only survivors of the attack on CubeCity. We have to rescue them," Sky then said, connecting gazes with all of us. "If we stick together, Herobrine will less likely be able to get to us. This is our first priority, friends."
Soon after, Sky split us up into separate groups. There were three groups made, each one designated to their own flare to rescue. I was stuck with Jerome and Bajan, which I already knew was going to be a bad idea. We were designated to go after the first flare, the one closest to us. That was the only good thing about that. Soon after all of the groups were made, we were supposed to head out to our flares. I tried to sneak out my cake, but Sky quickly spotted me.
Placing his hands on his waist, Sky then said, "Ian, leave the cake behind. You do not need it to go after our friends."
I whipped towards my friend, anger burning behind my sunglasses. The cake was already beginning to get to me. "Do you know what I had to do to make this cake?!" I cried out, then glaring at Sky. Nobody could dare try to make me and my precious cake separate. That was basically like separating Notch from Jeb, or Herobrine from the Nether.
"No, and I really don't care how you made it, Ssundee. Your first priority is to go and rescue our friends. When you return, you can eat your 'precious' cake," Sky then said, turning around to go and talk to a couple of my other friends. But when Sky did that, I slipped my cake into my inventory, hiding it away from sight. Nobody could ever convince me to separate me from my cake. It was... my precious...
Jerome, Bajan and I quickly left to go and rescue my friends. We climbed down from where our camp was, careful to not fall down to our deaths. We then took out a compass, and began to head north towards where the flare was signaled. After a couple minutes of walking through the jungle, I took out my cake and held it in my hand. I really didn't think at that time that something bad was going to happen to my cake.
We were about halfway through the jungle, almost to where our destination was supposed to be. Jerome was leaping over logs and leaves, bringing out his natural Bacca nature. Jerome led the way, leaving me and Mitch far behind him. As we continued to walk, I then all of a sudden felt some pressure on my cake, and then it was released a moment later. "What the balls?" I asked, then looking around to where my cake is. All of a sudden, I then saw Bajan standing there, his eyes wide in fright. In his hand he had the cake balls that were previously on my cake, although most of it was already gone. Little bits of crumbs covered the area around his mouth, which let me know that he had been eating them.
I was shocked. He really tried to eat my cake. That was something that nobody should have ever done.
I glared at him and quickly got in front of him to prevent him from walking another inch. "Dude, what the crap?!" I yelled at him, my darkish-blue eyes boiling in anger.
"I'm sorry! It's just that along the way, I was getting hungry and... I saw your cake... and... and... I tried to take all the balls for myself!" He stated, dramatically and assertively.
"You ain't gonna have any once I get through with you!" I threatened him. I lunge for him and pinned him to the ground, seeing that I was more "mentally" tougher than he was. I tried to throw a punch, but Mitch quickly grabbed my fist and threw me off of him. As I got up, I could make the outline of Jerome turning around, wondering what was going on. I ignored him for now and turned my attention back to Bajan.
"Guys, stop fighting!" I heard Jerome yelled out, but Mitch and I ignored him and we continued to fight with each other, Mitch pulled at my jacket while I held him in a headlock. After a few minutes, when I lost my grip on Mitch's head, I felt a hand grasp the back of my head while I saw another hand go behind Mitch's head. Then, our heads were brought together in a hard hit on our foreheads. I fell on my back, groaning in pain while rubbing my aching forehead. I look over at where Mitch had fallen and saw Mitch doing the same thing.
"Sorry guys, but you were asking for it," I heard Jerome said.
"What the crap, Jerome!? That frickin' hurt!" I complained to him, stumbling back onto my feet.
"You know, Ian, ever since we escaped from CubeCity after it got ravaged, you've been picking fights with anyone who annoys you. First, you tried to pick a fight with Bashur and now, you picked a fight with my best friend. What happened to the Ian that I used to know? Who could go crazy about cake and just play around with his friends?" Jerome asked me.
Then, I answered, "That Ian is gone. Now, you're stuck with me. Besides, what is finding our friends gonna do to fix everything that has happened?"
"Things take time to heal, Ian," Jerome said to me. "You can't just expect the city to rise from the rubble overnight."
I scoffed and turn away. "Then, what's the point in finding Notch? He didn't do anything to save our city. If he had saved us earlier, we wouldn't be in this mess. We wouldn't be out here. Now...we're probably the only Minecrafters left in this damned world. Notch has left us to fend for ourselves, so that he can relax and live carefree in the Aether while we suffer down here in the Overworld with that devil Herobrine and the Squid Army. By how things are right now...I don't even see how we're even still friends."
With that, I begin to walk away from the duo. "Come on, let's go and see if the others are still breathing," I said. Suddenly, after I took a couple of steps, I heard a branch crack and a moment later, a body fell on top of me. I groaned as I recovered from the impact and look up to see Bodil.
"Why do people keep falling on me?!" I questioned out loud.
"It's good to see you, too, Ssundee," Bodil said flatly.
Ashley's POV-
We were jumping from branch to branch at a very fast pace. I wasn't sure if Bodil could handle the speed, seeing that he had already lost his foot. I was beginning to wonder how he could even parkour again. Then, when he jumps onto another branch, it breaks underneath him and the Bulgarian disappears out of sight. Everyone, including me, gasped. I was hoping that he would turn out okay. Then, suddenly, I heard Ssundee's voice. I look down and see that Bodil had landed on top of Ian. What a stroke of luck that was. Then, we descended from the trees and saw that Ssundee had been traveling with Mitch and Jerome.
"Where have you guys been? We've been looking for you and the others," I asked the guys.
"We've been looking you, Gizzy, Bodil, and Simon! We'd thought that we spent all night looking for you guys," Mitch exclaimed. Then, Jerome steps in.
"Look, all that matters now is that we found them and they are safe", the Bacca explained.
"Anyway, where's Sky and the others?" I wondered, looking around in curiosity. I only saw Bajan, Jerome and Ian, and nobody else. I really expected Sky to be with them.
"They went off to find where the others flares had went off. We better get back to the campsite," Jerome answered. We agreed and head back in the opposite direction. As we were walking, I look over to see Bodil limping harder than before. I winced as I saw him lifting up his missing foot from the ground to avoid dragging it.
"You need help walking, Bodil?" I asked him. He glances over at me.
"No, it's okay. Just...kinda of painful right now, but I'll be okay," He answered back. I knew that he needed help, but he was too stubborn to admit it. I decided against trying to help him. I didn't want to infuriate him, seeing he already had enough to worry about. Same thing goes with all of us. All that we had to focus on now was finding the others, safe and sound.
Sky's POV-
I navigated everyone through the forest. The day was getting colder, quickly turning into night, but we couldn't afford to stop looking. If we ceased off our search now, our friends would suffer a slow and cold death from the harsh winter winds with no food, water, or shelter. While walking in the direction where one of the flares went off, walking next to me was Dawn. She shivered violently as a hard gust of bone-chilling wind threw her hair in all directions, as well as mine. I came closer to her and wrapped an arm over her, in a last attempt to try and keep her warm, and at least try to keep her moving. She looks over at me and smiles, her emerald and sapphire eyes shimmered with hope.
"Thanks, Sky," She said. I nodded at her. She snuggled close to my neck and sighed. Then, Sierra appeared by my side. I glanced over at her and she smiled. But it was quickly replaced with a worried frown.
"I hope we find the others soon," She said, worry pinching her shining and innocent eyes.
Then, I said "Don't worry. We will find them. I just know it." After a few minutes to trudging through the woods, everyone was looking exhausted and cold, but they still kept their hopes high. Then, a rustling near the brush caught my attention. I stop in my tracks and look towards several bushes. Appearing out of the bushes is Alix and what appeared to be a girl. She was helping him walk, several parts of his body have been bandaged up. Logdotzip, Solace, and I ran over to them.
"What happened to you?" I asked him, worrying because he looked even much worse than when I first saw him.
He looked up at me with a pained look. "I nearly burnt to death in a lava pool, but Ray here was able to save me. I got burned pretty bad, but I'm still up and about," Alix replied with a strained tone. Log and Solace quickly ran up to them, and they quickly took Alix into their possession, and then they began to head back towards where our camp was at.
I turned to Ray, and I gave her a quick, brief smile. "I cannot thank you enough for saving Alix. If you weren't there to save him, he would be dead right now," I then said, glancing quickly over to where Log and Solace were busy dragging off Alix carefully, making sure to not harm any more than what he was already in.
Ray smiled towards me. "It was really nothing. I realized that our species is endangered right now, as you guys are the only ones left alive to really save the world, and I needed to save him so that we have a greater chance of having our species continue to prosper."
I returned my attention to her. "Would you like to come with us, Ray? We are going to try and stop Herobrine and the Squids from continuing to destroy the world, and we will need all the assistance that we can to accomplish this," I then said, holding my hand out to her.
The young girl glanced down to my hand, and then a moment later, she shook her head softly. That shocked me. "I'm sorry, but I cannot go with you, Sky. I would really love to help you, but... I have other things that I have to do."
Jumping back slightly in shock, I then gaped towards her. "How... how did you know my name?"
She just smiled. "I am sorry, but for now, this will be goodbye. Good luck in trying to get to AntVenom's place, Budder Lord," She then said, and then she turned around and disappeared into the shadows of the night.
I stood there in shock. How did she know all of that when none of us had told her of our plans? Immediately, my thoughts were shaken off when I felt a hand get placed on my shoulder. Looking down, I then saw that it was my wonderful girlfriend. Dawn looked exhausted, but she still smiled towards me. "Come on, Sky, let's get going now. We have to head back to camp so that we can regroup with the others," She said, grasping onto my hand afterwards. I nodded slightly, and then I allowed Dawn to drag me off to head back to where our camp was at. But as we continued to walk, I became even more and more curious about the girl Ray. How had she known everything that we were going to do when she had only just barely met us? Had she been stalking us the whole time, or had she just randomly guessed the things that we were going to be doing?
Apparently, I had an extremely strange looking expression on my face, because Dawn looked over to me while we were carefully passing through the jungle to get back to our camp. "Is there something wrong, Sky?" Dawn asked me, looking over to me and putting her hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head, and then I gave my girlfriend a smile. "I'm fine, Dawn. Trust me."
Dawn quickly dropped the subject, returning her attention to the path in front of us. But I could sense that she was nervous about something. Maybe she was worrying about me, or she was worrying about something else that was going to happen. What could it be? I didn't want to question it, like she didn't want to question what was wrong with me.
Right then, we heard a loud voice coming from above us. Everyone in our group (Me, Dawn, Sierra, Logdotzip, BudderSolace, Deadlox, Alix, CaptainSparklez, Pixel, Kermit and Noah) looked up, and we quickly saw Jerome and Mitch running around in circles where our camp was on top of the trees. Behind them we could see a small group of Zombie Pigmen chasing them, their budder swords glimmering in the moonlight.
"HELP US!" We heard Bajan scream from the tree tops, and then he disappeared into the cover of the camp.
"WE'RE COMING, GUYS!" I screamed back to them. Immediately I began to climb the tree, scaling quickly between the vines and little stumps in the tree. I got up there quickly, and then I quickly saw the issue: A group of about a dozen Zombie Pigmen were chasing Jerome, Bajan, Ian, Bodil (who was being carried along by Bajan), Ashley, Simon, and Gizzy, and my friends were not prepared with any weapons. They were slowly losing.
I threw my fingers up to my lips, and I quickly gave out a shrill whistle. All of the Zombie Pigmen stopped chasing my friends, and they turned towards me. I pulled out my sword, and rotated it in my hand swiftly. "Come and get me, worthless piles of zombie flesh!" I yelled, taunting them with my hands. Right then, all of them gave out shrill grunts, and they all came running right at me. I just smiled, my eyes burning with hatred beneath my sunglasses. "Time to bring the pain."
Thrusting my sword into the first Zombie Pigman, it collapsed to the ground, the life taken out of it. I swiftly ripped my sword out of the dead body, and then I began to slice it at the other eleven zombies as well. Within a minute, the whole camp was surrounded in Zombie Pigmen parts. But I ignored it all. I let my anger take control, and I easily took down every single one of those Nether minions.
When I finally gained control of my anger, I looked around the camp in horror. It was a complete mess. Body parts of the dead creatures were scattered all over the camp, and many things were knocked over and destroyed because of the Zombie Pigmen chasing my friends. My sword was covered in the green blood of the Zombie Pigmen, and once I realized what I had done, I dropped my budder sword in disgust. What kind of creature have I turned into? How could I do that and allow my anger to take control of me? What if the Zombie Pigmen had actually been my friends and not what they actually were? How could I live up to the thought of killing my best friends when I couldn't even control myself?
I turned to my friends, and saw the shocked looks on their faces. Every single one of my friends (including the ones that had just barely climbed up the tree behind me) stared towards me in complete horror, seeing what I had just done. Right then, I heard a voice cry out, "What hap...happened guys? I... I just barely... got up here!" We all turned to the source of the voice, and we saw that it was Bashur. He clambered up to where we were, having climbed up the hard way instead of climbing up where we had climbed up. He stumbled slightly, and then he froze when he saw us staring at him. "Oh... um, so how are you guys doing? What nice weather we have here today, I mean... tonight." He scratched the back of his neck in nervousness. "Hehe, um, I'm sorry for that... just ignore me..."
"We already do that most of the time anyways," Ssundee quickly shot, glaring towards the watermelon. Then, they turned back to me, seeing the blood covering my outfit.
"Sky... what... what happened?" Dawn asked, taking a step towards me. Not close enough that I could touch her, but visibly closer so that I could tell that she was not in line with the others.
Shaking my head, I then said, "I... I really don't know. I just... I just let my anger take control, and I... I took them out, I guess."
Jen then shook her head as well, her eyes widened in fright. "No, Sky, that's not what we mean." I became confused. "We mean about the fact that your eyes... they..." She took in a deep breath, as if not wanting to answer that statement.
Sierra put a gentle hand on Jen's shoulder, which then got the sixteen year old girl to look up at her. Sierra nodded ever so slightly, and then Jen took another breath in.
"Sky, your eyes... they turned completely white."
