Sky's POV-
That night we mourned for several hours. It was well into the night when we stopped mourning, and that was because we all felt sad that Pewface had passed on. Bashur was the worst off. He did not smile, laugh, or even crack jokes all night like he normally did. He sat over the body of his beloved dog, his head drooped over in sadness. Nobody had ever seen him like this before, and it worried everyone. This was not normal to see the melon depressed... it was not himself to be depressed.
Sierra walked up to me during the night when I had gone outside to check on him. Crossing her hands over her chest, she then said, "Sky, do something about Bashur. Just talk to him if you have to. It is not going to help us at all if we have everyone depressed because Pewface passed on." Glancing over to my sister, I then nodded slightly. She was right. Having everyone depressed just because one of our friends had died did not mean that we had to keep behind schedule. If we ever planned on getting CubeCity back, we would have to gather the weapons quicker than at the pace we were going at right then. We had no chance of getting our city back if we allowed Herobrine to get stronger and stronger with every passing day.
Walking up to Bashur, I then stood behind him silently as he continued to sob into the dead mutt's fur. After a minute, I knelt next to Bash and sighed as I then looked up to the sky above us. The swamp was now so cleared and beautiful that we could clearly see the Blocky Way galaxy stretching across the night sky, and it looked amazing. I was stunned by the natural beauty of the galaxy that all I did for a good minute or so was stare up into the sky. Finally, I glanced over to Bashur, and asked, "Beautiful night, isn't it?"
Sniffling, Bash then pulled up just enough to have his head out of the soaking fur of his deceased dog. "What are you trying to do, Sky, it is not going to work."
"Come on, Bash, you have to stop crying at some point. It does nothing to just mourn over your dog long after he died. The others are starting to worry about you, dude. You are normally this bad, and it is not natural to see you going so long without laughing or even smiling. Where is the normally happy-go-lucky watermelon that we all love as our own family?" I then asked, turning slightly to look over to him fully.
"That melon died along with my dog, if you didn't notice," Bashur spat, glaring at me soon afterwards. I jumped back slightly in shock. I had never heard that much venom in his words before. Bashur then returned to sob into his dog's fur, but I tried to pull him away.
"Come on, Bashur, it is time to let go of him," I then said, but Bashur shook his head vigorously.
"No, I refuse to let him go!" Bashur cried out, clasping even harder on to his Pewface's body. Finally, after a minute, I gave up, and slumped down against a tree nearby. Bashur then looked over to me. "Sky, would you let go of Dawn or Sierra if they died?"
"I would after a long period of time. By then they are no longer worth holding, because then they start smelling up the place."
Bashur shook his head, and then he said, "Sky, you don't understand, do you? I got Pewface in the first place because when I was younger, my parents abandoned me and left me to fend for myself. They never loved me. I knew exactly what Pewface was feeling when I saw that nobody wanted to adopt him. We were both alone in this world, and we filled a hole in each other's souls that could only be filled with love. We would always go on adventures when we were younger, and until you came to our rescue, we were on our own. When you came and found us, our whole lives changed. I promised him that we would stay together forever, and without Pewface here... it's just not the same."
I stayed silent during the time Bashur talked, partly because I was shocked. Bashur normally never talked about his past, because it was a touchy subject for him. He must have really been sad if he was willing to spill even his past to get out his sadness. Bashur took off his 3-D glasses, and I froze when he looked over to me. His eyes were unlike anything I have seen before. They were deep brown, like the earth beneath our feet, but speckled in his eyes were green, butter and red flecks. They swirled together and made a strange mixture of color, but I found his eyes stunning. Bashur took in a deep breath, and then he said, "Sky, this is what happens to my eyes when I am sad. My eyes can change colors depending on my mood. Overall they are brown, but just depending on the mood I am in the flecks in my eyes will change colors. When I am happy they will mainly be golden, when I am angry they will be red. But when I am truly sad, they will have green, gold and red flecks in them." Bashur replaced his 3-D glasses on his face, and then he looked down to Pewface.
"Never before have my eyes been this bad with green, gold and red. But that shows how sad I am. I cared dearly for Pewface, even though nobody ever really thought I did. If I could just have one more minute with Pewface alive, I would tell him how much I cared for him and that all the insults and threats I shot towards him did not mean anything. I... I..." Then, beginning to shake slightly, Bashur gasped, "I love you, Pewface." Soon after that, Bashur returned to sobbing into his fur.
I felt really bad for the melon. I truly did know how he felt right then... that was how I felt every single time I saw my brother that didn't even remember who I was. That was how I felt when I thought about my parents, and that was especially how I felt when Sierra had temporarily died. Bashur wasn't alone with that. I walked up next to Bashur, and I knelt beside him. I closed my eyes behind my sunglasses, and tried not to start crying. I felt what Bashur was feeling: pain that racked his soul to no end. He lost his best friend, his only family, and now he was once again alone in the world. I felt true empathy for Bashur then.
All of a sudden, I heard a quiet, raspy voice say, "I... I love you... too, Bash." Lifting my head, I then looked over to Bashur, which was where the voice had come from. Bash opened his eyes, and then he looked down in his arms, and we both stared in shock at Pewface, who had lifted his head to look at us with a giant smirk plastered to his muzzle.
"Pewface!" Bashur cried out, and then he engulfed the canine in a big hug. After a minute, Bashur looked down to Pewface, and then he asked, "How in the Nether are you alive? You were not breathing for hours!"
Pewface pushed himself up slightly, then whimpering in pain shortly afterwards. "I never was dead, Bash. The vines did not hit me hard enough to kill me. It just knocked me out cold. But... I heard all that you said, Bashur," Pewface then said, his ears tightening to his head soon afterwards. Pewface curled into his owner, and then Pewface said, "I really do love you, Bashur. Even though you don't feed me often, I would never want to be without you. Together to the end, that was what you promised me. I love you, Bashur."
Bashur began to sob in happiness, and then he gave Pewface another hug. "Oh, Pewface, I don't know what I would do with my life if you would have actually died. Just think of the adventures that we could go on now if we wanted to and all the fun that we could have," Bash said, then lifting his head to look at Pewface. "But, it is surely past midnight. We should be heading to bed now." Bashur pushed himself up from the ground, Pewface slowly clambering off of his legs.
Pewface took a look at his fur, and then he cried out in disgust. "Is this your tears, Bashur? Disgusting!" Pewface shook himself off, which sent the water in his fur to fly everywhere. It splashed against me and Bashur, and we covered ourselves so we wouldn't be completely covered in tears. But that didn't work.
"Pewface, really? Ugh, you are so yourself," Bashur then said, shaking his arms to try to get the tears off of his skin. I shook my hair, which made it unruly and messed up because of the tears that had soaked into my hair.
Laughing, I then said, "Come on, you two, it is time to head to bed. We will explain what happened to Pewface in the morning to the others, but for now we will just prepare ourselves to get the next weapon. So, Bashur, Pewface, I bid thee goodnight." Turning around, I then walked back to my tent, quickly seeing Sierra standing in front of her tent and smiling towards me. She had saw the entire thing happen. Flashing my sister a smile, I then nodded slightly to her, which she responded with a nod of her own. I walked into my tent, and laid down on my sleeping bag next to Dawn. Closing my eyes, I then fell into a deep slumber, disappearing into the realm of dreams.
That night, I had a very peculiar dream. Looking around the place, I then tried to make sense of my surroundings. Everything was gloomy, however. I could not recognize the place that I was in. I began walking forward, trying to find out where I was. My footsteps echoed as if I was in a long and empty hallway, and I continued on walking for what seemed hours. Finally, I found a door, and I ran up towards it, excited to get out of the area that I was stuck in. Pulling open the door, I then froze when I saw the sight before me. I saw a tropical island. Confused, I then stepped through the door, and felt sand meet my feet below. I took in a deep breath, tasting the rich air that surrounded me. This was very different... and very strange as well. I walked along the beach, looking around. Why was I dreaming this dream? A minute later, I heard shouting, Turning my head, I then saw a group of Minecrafters running after someone, who was running a lot faster than normal people did. The person they were chasing dashed off into the trees, and soon, the Minecrafters gave up chasing the being. Darting behind a tree, I then gazed at the group of people. It was then I realized that they looked strangely like my best friends. Actually... they were my best friends. Creeping closer, I then tried to listen to their conversation.
"Why is it that we can never catch him?!" The dream Jerome cried out, rubbing his face in stress. I looked at him, and saw that his clothes were ripped up and ruined, and he looked more scruffy than normal. I assumed that they had been there on that island for at least a week or more.
Deadlox stepped forward, and I saw that he looked extremely messed up like Jerome was. He was growing a slight stubble, and his hair was ruffled and matted. His headphones looked slightly ruined, and his clothes were really dirty and/or ripped. "He has those wicked powers of his, Jerome. Of course he is going to use them to get away from us. He is scared that we are going to kill him ever since he gained those powers of his and turned into... him," Ty said, and then the others agreed with him.
All of a sudden, I saw my sister walk forward, and in her arms she carried a small bundle of something in her arms. She looked very exhausted, and I felt really bad for her. I had never seen her this bad before. It really scared me. "Guys, we should just talk to him. Maybe by then he will actually stop running. And besides, we have been at this for three weeks now. Jaimee is getting really fussy and as well as Aurea and Katrina. This is not looking good for anyone now," Sierra then said, adjusting the bundle in her arms. My mouth hung open in shock. It couldn't be... but it was true. How could that happen? That must have been a dream, because I would never let her have something like that at such a young age. It seemed too strange to even believe.
"This is just like when we were fugitives three years ago," Ssundee then said, stepping forward. He was also carrying a similar bundle to Sierra, which shocked me as well. "It was like when Sky began to have his eye color changing and his mood altered drastically when he got extremely angry. Everyone began to worry for him... and then suddenly, when we destroyed Herobrine, it stopped. It was very peculiar... but nobody had every before questioned it. Man, don't I wish we could go back then to change that and stop Sky from becoming the monster we know of him now..."
Right then, the scene before me changed, and instead of the island that I had been on just moments before, I was now at a giant castle made of Lapis blocks. Everything was dark, and in the distance, I could see what appeared to be a battle going at a city on the horizon. All of a sudden, I heard a grunt from behind me, and I turned to see what was going on. Blinking, I then saw a giant Squid and a person standing in front of each other, and the Squid was very injured. He was bleeding from many wounds, and the person that stood before him did nothing.
"Herobrine... help me..." The Squid gasped, stretching out a tentacle towards Herobrine.
Giving out a short laugh, Herobrine then stepped forward, and approached the Squid's head. "I am not going to help you, Derpollolus," Herobrine hissed, then moving away slightly.
Derpollolus gaped in shock, and then he gasped, "Why... would you... do this? I... I helped you... become the... God of... Minecraftia..."
"Sky Fisher was the one who injured you like that, not me. Although I would have loved to do that myself. Our deal is off, Derpollolus. Now that I am the God of Minecraftia, I can do what I want when I want it! Not even a stupid Squid like you can stop me now," Herobrine then said, and then he took off into the air, and flew off from that place outside of the Lapis castle. Derpollolus shouted something incoherent, and then he collapsed to the ground, the life in him slipping away quickly. A moment later, I saw another person step forward, and I realized then that it was me. The other me walked forward, and then he held out his budder sword to have Derpollolus see that.
"This is for destroying my city... and destroying my friends and my city," Sky then said, and then he slammed the sword into Derpollolus's chest. One last breath escaped from Derpollolus, and then he slumped fully to the ground, dead. I watched the whole thing pass by silently. I could not believe that that could even be remotely true.
Right then, the ground beneath my feet disappeared, and I fell into the darkness beneath me. When I finally landed back on solid ground, I felt like I had fallen for a couple of hours. Looking around, I then blinked several times to get a good view of my surroundings. Confusion overcame me as I saw my surroundings. All I saw was a giant wall that was completely covered in a giant mirror. Stepping forwards towards the mirror, I quickly saw myself in the reflection, and I smiled slightly. All of a sudden, I saw my reflection change before me. I saw three overlapping images of myself right then. One looked exactly like me, one version of myself wore darker colored clothes and had his eyes shut tightly, and the last one had completely buttery eyes and wore my normal clothes except was completely covered head to toe in armor. Both looked extremely powerful.
"What in the world?" I asked, putting my hand forward towards the mirror. The only reflection that moved was the one that looked exactly like me. The other two stayed completely still, standing in the positions they were in before. A moment later, the images moved, the darker looking one moving to my left and the other moving to the right.
All of a sudden, both moved on their own. The soldier version of me looked around, and then he put his hands on his waist, adjusting his sword that hung on his waist. The other version of me kept his eyes closed, but I could see that his chest was rising and falling.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the old Sky," The Soldier Sky then said, smiling towards and adjusting the sunglasses that sat on his face. "It's been a while since I have seen you. I'm guessing that it has been about... maybe around five years since I have been in the place that you were in."
Jolting back in shock, I then looked at the two reflections of myself. "What in the Nether is going on? Who are you guys?"
The other Sky that wasn't moving much then opened his eyes, and I was frozen in place by his white eyes. They were void white... almost like Herobrine's were. They were really eerie, which made me shake to the core slightly. "We are your other you, Sky."
Looking at them, I then asked, "What do you mean by 'other you'?"
"We are the future forms of yourself that you can and will take if you chose the path that leads to us. My name is Skoch, and he is... well, Skybrine," Skoch then said, gesturing over to Skybrine, who was glaring at me. Skoch turned to me, and then he said, "We are two different realities of yourself. Both come from a vital choice you will end up making in the future. If you make the wrong choice, you will end up like him. Visa versa for me. But eventually, you will become one of us."
Leaning up against the mirror, I then said, "So, according to you two, I will end up becoming one of you in the future. And no matter what, this has to happen?" Both nodded quickly. "Wow, what kind of choice did I make to look like you?" I then asked, pointing towards Skybrine.
Growling in his throat, Skybrine then hissed, "You are pushing the limits, boy. I did what I had to do to save my friends to end up like this. In saving their worthless souls, I ended up in Hell. While they get to live out their perfect lives with their growing families, I have to stay in the Nether and rule it. I can't have a family, I can't have friends, I am alone. Meanwhile, you have Mr. Perfect here that has everything. He has a loving family, powers beyond comprehension, and he gets to have friends while I don't get to."
I winced at the spite in his voice. He felt pure hatred towards everyone, even himself. What would end up happening to me if I ended up like Skybrine? Would I be just as spiteful and venemous as he is and completely hate my friends for it? Skoch looked over to me, and then he said, "He may be correct, but I had to pay a price to get this. I may have saved my friends like he has, but I didn't get all of them. I had to let go of the last family that I had to get to this."
My heart seemed to jump out of rhythm when he said that. The last family he had? I knew that could only mean Sierra and Dawn. They were my only family that I had that could actually remember me... and I would die on the inside if I lost them. Right then, I really didn't want to be in either man's shoes. I wanted to just keep with the life I had right then, even though that wasn't too good either. Collapsing to my knees, I then put my hands on the mirror to stabilize myself. My head was spinning with that information. Closing my eyes, I then slammed my fist against the ground in anger.
"Why can't my life just be normal? Why can't the worst thing that could happen to me be I get kidney stones?" I cried out, then glancing back up to the mirror. Both of my others looked down to me, both having expressionless faces. "So I really have to become one of you? Either become eternally doomed in Hell or lose my family and be 'happy' in life? Both sound shi-"
"Trust me, it is not that bad after a while. I finally got over their deaths after a year or so, and now I know that it was for the better that they turned out the way they did. Everybody else is happy now," Skoch then said, adjusting the sunglasses on his face.
Skybrine then turned his head slightly towards Skoch. "Yeah, I guess mine isn't that bad either. You kinda get used to being the ruler of the Nether after a while, and from what I have observed, all of my old friends are happy as well. But that's the thing isn't it? In price of making your friends happy, you end up making yourself miserable. Why is that the only way that can work?"
Looking up, I then asked, "So what is this choice that I end up making that will decide if I am you or you?"
Both reflections looked at each other, and then Skybrine said, "We cannot tell you now. But possibly in the future when it gets closer we can give you hints on what you should choose." He then paused, and cocked his head slightly to the side. "Morning is coming, and with that comes another day of travel to get your next weapon. The only thing we can warn you is... with new friends comes death of another. A two for one deal is made, and that one is vital to the rest of your journey. We will see each other soon, Sky." With that, both reflections faded into nothing, and I was sent back into a realm of blackness and emptiness. Before I could cry out to them, something bright hit my vision, and then, I woke up.
Jerome's POV-
The next morning came swiftly, and when I woke up, I pushed myself up and rubbed my eyes tiredly. Looking around, I then realized that Bajan was not in the same tent as I was. Standing up, I then walked out of the tent, and was immediately met with bright rays from the sun. I blinked several times, and then I adjusted quickly to my surroundings. Nobody was really up, as the sun has barely peaked up above the horizon, but quickly glancing around and seeing that Sierra's tent flat was open made me believe that she, along with Bajan, was awake.
Right then, I heard laughter coming from behind me, and I quickly darted into the edge of trees and climbed up one of the trees. Perching myself on one of the branches, I knelt so low that my chest was touching the branch itself, and I gazed at the camp before me. A moment later, the two people who I heard laughing came into view, and just as my suspicions had predicted, they were Sierra and Bajan. They were walking slowly, laughing, and it was then that I realized that their fingers were interlocked within each other's fingers. They stopped in the middle of the camp, and turned towards one another. Mitch slid his hands around her waist, and brought her into him. Sierra wrapped her arms around Mitch's neck, and silencing, I then listened into their conversation.
"Wow, I never realized that you could do so much with a bow. This will definitely help me in the future for when I want to do that again. You are an amazing guy, Mitch. Don't let anybody ever tell you otherwise," Sierra then said, resting her head on his chest. I saw Mitch blush slightly, and then he pulled himself away from her slightly so that he could link gazes with her.
"Oh, trust me, I will not let them tell me that. I would Katniss them before they could even say 'You are-'. But thanks, Sierra. Sky is a very lucky man to have a sister like you," Bajan then said, smiling down to her. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise up slightly, and I couldn't help but bare my fangs in anger. What was Bajan doing? Bajan gave Sierra a gentle kiss on the forehead, and then Sierra pulled herself away from him.
"I have to get ready for this next journey. I will talk to you later?" She asked. Mitch nodded slightly, and then Sierra turned to run back to her tent, leaving Mitch standing all alone.
Jumping down from the tree, I then began to approach Mitch, anger controlling my actions. Bajan turned and saw me, and then he asked, "Oh, hey biggums. How did you sleep last night, Jerome?"
Pushing him up against a tree, I grasped on to the collar of his jacket and balled it up into my fist. "Don't you 'hey biggums' me, Bajan. What do you think you are doing? We promised that we would not make a move on her unless she gave us clear proof that she liked us first, and that was an oath that you made to me by the Power Moves Only code," I hissed, unable to tell him how much it hurt me to see him hitting on the girl I liked.
Mitch held his hands up defensively, and then he said, "Dood, I promise you I was not trying to make a move on her. When I make a promise, I keep to that promise. I'm not a jag, you know."
"Well, at times it seems like you are a jag, Mitch. A big, selfish, jag," I spit, then releasing him from the grip I help him by and turning around to walk away. I marched off, leaving Mitch to stand there alone again. Immediately after that, I felt kinda bad for yelling at my best friend, but my point was across, and that was all that mattered for me right then. I still felt horrible, however. I never yell at Mitch. Even if it was over a stupid thing that got me mad. This, however, got me so mad to the point that I yelled at him? Am I really that gullible to yell at my best friend over a girl who probably doesn't even like me?
I went back to my tent, and I began to prepare myself for the journey that we had to make. AntVenom had told us that we had to travel to the GeoForest next to GeoCity, which would be a good time to go and see how GeoCity had fared through the attack of the Nether mobs on the world. The only problem with that was that to reach GeoCity from where we were was a good three days journey. That would be an exhausting journey. I quickly packed up my stuff, and then I began talking to Jen, who was already done with packing her things up. "So, Jen, how much has GeoCity changed? I mean, I haven't been there at least eight years," I asked, glancing over to the girl.
Jen breathed in, and then she said, "Well, it is actually very similar to CubeCity. There are some big differences, but other than those differences it is basically the same. Of course, when you left eight years ago the city has changed, but it has changed similarly to how CubeCity has changed in the past ten years. But I couldn't tell you what other changes could have occurred. Remember, I officially moved to CubeCity about four years ago, and I couldn't predict what the Nether mobs could have done to my old home..." I nodded, and then I turned to Seto, who had approached me and Jen.
"We ready to go? Everybody else is all packed up, and we have all day to travel the journey towards the GeoForest," Seto said, looking between me and Jen.
"Yeah, we're ready," I replied, hauling my backpack over my shoulder. Seto nodded and walked away, joining the others who were already departing into the forest. Jen quickly followed the sorcerer, walking side by side with him. I glanced over and saw Mitch walking next to Sierra, his arm wrapped over her shoulder. I angrily growled in my throat as I started to follow, keeping a close eye on him and making sure he didn't try anything on Sierra... not until she made her decision on who she likes.
Ssundee's POV-
We started the journey towards the GeoForest. It was a long trek from where we are to the other forest, but we were full of energy, armed with weapons, and ready to take on anything in our path.
We had no intentions on stopping for a break, as time was more important to us now. We traversed along the beaten dirt path, everyone keeping up as the sun was slowly moving to mid-day. After an hour had passed, we still continued the travel when the welkin was suddenly covered in a sheet of storm clouds. I glanced towards the cloudy sky as rain started to pour down on us, my glasses getting covered in rain droplets. I looked down and wiped the droplets away with my sleeve, but it didn't do any good.
But I wasn't willing to take off my sunglasses. They were the only thing I had to prevent me from... losing it. Back when I was younger, I was always violent with my uncontrollable behavior. Nothing could stop me, and eventually, I was sent to a mental hospital to be tested on. The doctors tried everything they knew, but nothing would stop me. Then, after months of constant experimenting, they tested a pair of sunglasses that prevented light from entering my line of vision. It worked. I no longer felt insane to the core. The hospital released me, but warned me to never, ever take off the sunglasses. And from then on, I've kept these pair of sunglasses on. never removing my sunglasses even if it was a pain in the neck to wear all the time.
The rough weather was making it difficult for me to see, but I ignored it. We had to get to the Jack-knife Sabers as quickly as we could.
Soon, the weather lightened up a bit, but left everything soaked in rainwater. Then, after we traveled some miles now, we came across a large rocky hill in our way. Carefully, each of us started climbing up the unsteady terrain. I look up and see a couple of the guys nearly lose their balance, causing a few rocks to tumble to the bottom of the hill. I grabbed a nearby rock, and I cried out in pain when I felt something sharp impale my hand. I pulled my hand back and saw a splinter near my palm. I used my other hand and quickly pulled it out, grunting in pain. It hurt a lot worse than I thought I would. I threw it away and resume my climb up the hill.
We reached the top and descend to the bottom on the other side. We reached the clear and less-rocky path and continued towards our destination, only stopping once to rest for the night.
Time seem to pass slowly. As the next day went by and night came, Sky lit the way with a torch and lead us through the night, the sounds of Zombies groaning, Spiders hissing, and Creepers hissing filled the night. Some of us that were able to fight stood in a circle around the others who were tired or weak. As the mobs came towards us, we fought back violently without leaving our place in our circle. While we were fighting, I looked over and saw Sky slashing against a hoard of Zombies, Sierra hidden behind him as he fought back with a strong spirit. I smiled at Adam's willingness to risk his life to protect his sister, but soon, I quickly turned back around and sliced through a Skeleton's head.
After what seemed like forever, we managed to kill off the mobs. None of us were hurt seriously, just a couple of cuts and bruises. We caught our breath and continued the travel to GeoForest.
Morning arrived, signaling the next day. Every everyone was exhausted and out of breath, having traveled more than a dozen miles from our previous destination. But we still refused to stop, the determination of saving our world from the Nether demons fueling our ambitions and still keeping us on our feet. As we approached another forest, we came to a sign that stated 'Welcome to GeoForest. Turn back or be forced into slavery!'
Wait. That didn't sound right. We stopped at the sign and looked over it. Parts of the wood were chipped off and scorched, but the writing was still readable. I glanced ahead and saw Adam running to the edge of the forest and looked out. Everyone, including myself, ran after him and gazed out on what Sky was looking at. The sight was just horrible.
Right below us from a rocky cliff, about a mile away, was GeoCity, but it had been torched and taken by the Nether mobs and the Squids. Thousands of Minecrafters trudged along the beaten roads, shackles and chains locked their ankles and wrists together as they were escorted away by Wither Skeletons. Ghasts flew over the leveled city, looking for any escapees or still-free people. Zombie Pigmen cleared away the debris as Endermen appeared out of nowhere and started placing Bedrock blocks or Netherack blocks to start the foundation of new buildings.
While all this was happening, dozens of Minecrafters were seen near the crater that separated the city from the land around it, mining constantly with no break. A Squid hybrid walked up to a tired male Minecrafter and whipped him with a black whip.
I winced as I heard a faint scream coming from the guy. He struggled to his feet and resumed mining, the hybrid taking one last gander at him and then walking away.
"My Notch... how could this have happened?!" I exclaimed, staring at the inhumanity and slavery that unfolded in front of us. I heard Sierra let out a sob and she looked away, unable to comprehend what she had just witnessed. The rest of us had enough of this cruel sight and backed away. I watched as Sky ran up to Sierra and start whispering something to her, probably to calm her down. The young woman pressed herself into Sky's chest. Sky hugs her tightly while gently stroking her back, trying to comfort the innocent woman who had never before witnessed such cruelty in the world.
After a minute, Sierra releases herself from Adam, but was still shaking in fear about something. Adam turned to us and said, "Guys, we have just witnessed what was probably the most horrifying thing ever. Slavery is a burden to anyone, and I wish I could free those people down there, but the amount of mobs down there is overwhelming. I'm not going to let the Squids take any more innocent people. We're going after the Jack-knife Sabers, so let's get going."
With that, Sky turned around and started leading us away from the edge, Sierra close to his side. I take one last look behind me, and sigh with a heavy heart as I turned away and started after the group.
We followed the same path that lead us there for a bit, then after going through some heavy brush, we reached a clearing in the forest that seemed to glow a mysterious, green aura. In the center of the clearing was the Jack-knife Sabers, held within a grassy platform. The pair had large, sliver, curved blades and the hilts were made up of twisted grasses held tightly together. I looked around, the quietness of the clearing being somewhat unsettling to me. Right then, something caught the corner of my eye. Two figures were trapped in what appeared to be vines tied together around a spruce tree about ten blocks above the ground.
"Guys, look!" I shouted, pointing towards the tree. Everyone glanced at the tree, following where I was pointing at.
Adam ran up to the base of the tree and called out, "Hey, are you two okay?"
The figures didn't respond for a bit, and then one of the figures picks its head up and gazed at Adam.
"Get out of here, it's not safe!" A female voice coming from the figure, so I quickly knew that it was a girl.
"What do you mean?" Adam questioned in confusion. Suddenly, a growl is heard in the forest. Each of us backed away as the vines trapping the figures pulled them away and into the dark shadows of the forest. All of a sudden, a huge creature jumped out of the forest, bringing down a few trees along the way. The thing that stood only a few blocks away from us... was a giant Venus Flytrap. Its upper jaw was hanging over its lower jaw, its long and flexible body being wrapped with dozens of vines, and leaves made up its bottom, acting like feet to enable it to move around. The plant opened its mouth, letting a sickish yellowish substance oozes out.
"Ugh, that is just disgusting!" Mitch stated with a grimace.
Within its tangle of vines, the two figures were revealed to be two girls, but one of them looked very familiar to me. Then, I figured out, and when I did, my breath seemed to be sucked out of me like a vacuum. It was the girl that I was in love with and that I thought was dead. I was thrilled because I knew that she was still alive, but terrified, because now, she's in danger because of a carnivorous plant. The Flytrap leaned its head backwards and hurled up that ooze from its mouth. Immediately, we ran out of the way and watched as the ooze struck the ground and began dissolving it away. I gasped in shock. If any of that substance got on us, we're dead. I quickly gazed over at the Sabers. I knew that I had to be the one to get them.
I took the risk and made my way towards the Sabers. darting between the vines that flew towards me like bullets. I grabbed both of the Sabers and wielded them in front of me. The grasses that made up the hilt wrapped over my hands, tightening to prevent me from letting the weapons go, but I wasn't planning to. With bravery filling my system, I leapt from the platform and started towards the creature to save the girls.
The Venus Flytrap looked down to me, the ooze dripping from its jaw and to the ground. It seemed to know what I was going after, because soon after that it lifted the girls higher up into the air, which made them yelp in fright. I began to slice at the creature with the Sabers, only doing minor damage to it. The Flytrap began to spit the ooze towards me, but I was quick enough to dart out of the way before any of it landed on me. Backing away after a couple of minutes, I realized that I did nothing to the creature. It quickly covered up its wounds with the vines that covered its body, healing them immediately. I ran my eyes over the beast, and then I glanced up to the two girls that were still trapped within the grasp of the vines. They seemed to be grimacing in pain, and it was right then that I realized the vines were constricting around the girls. My breath seemed to be taken out of me again. They were going to die if they were in the grasp of the Flytrap for any longer. Right then, I knew I had to do something, but it would be extremely risky.
Turning around, I then glanced to my friends. They all were standing there in shock, looking towards me. Mitch, Bashur and Adam were grasping on to the weapons that they had gotten, each one having the designs in the hilt wrapping around their hands. Sighing, I then said, "Guys, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." Everyone seemed confused, but when I rose my hand to my sunglasses, they knew exactly what I was going to do. Turning back around towards the Flytrap, I then threw my sunglasses off, throwing them behind me and out of reach. Multiple gasps went out from my friends, but the damage was already done. As the sunlight hit my eyes, my anger began to boil, and I could feel Derp Ssundee coming out.
Letting out an insane laugh, I then charged forwards towards the Flytrap, the Derp coming out completely. The Flytrap realized what was happening, and began to attack me, but nothing worked. Jumping in the air, I sliced at the stomach of the creature, then falling back to the ground soon afterwards. The creature let out a cry of pain, and soon after that, I noticed three people charge forwards, beginning to help me attack the creature. I didn't need their help, however. Climbing into one of the trees that surrounded the clearing, I then leapt into the air, grasping on to one of the vines that held the girls. I swung around in the air, and released myself, flying towards the head of the monster. When I landed, the Derp in me laughed once more, and I felt my arms slam the weapons into the head of the Flytrap.
One cry of pain came out from the creature, and then it collapsed to the ground, falling like a pillar being knocked over. The ground shook as the creature landed, and soon after that, everything seemed to calm down. The vines that held the girls dropped, and the two of them fell to the ground, more or less safe than before. Sitting up, the Derp in me began to take over again, and I turned towards my friends, not recognizing them right then as my friends. "Ian, don't do this. We are your friends, not enemies," Adam then said, trying to calm me down. But I didn't listen. I began to charge forward, the Sabers in my hands positioned to kill my friends.
All of a sudden, I got tackled to the ground, and I felt a body on top of mine. Struggling, I then tried to release myself from under them, but the next thing I knew, my sunglasses were being shoved on my face, and immediately after that, Derp Ssundee began to back down and I calmed down.
Blinking several times, I looked up to see one of the girls sitting on top of me, and it was then that I realized they were the one that saved me from killing my friends. Gazing up at the girl, I then recognized her as the girl that I fell in love with. I seemed to freeze as I realized how beautiful she was up close. The girl had tan skin, redish brown hair that hung down her back, and she had stunning yellow eyes that seemed to paralyze me in place. She was wearing a pink-tinged shirt with headphones on the front, gray overalls with straps looped over her shoulders, and she had blue and yellow boots on. Around her wrists she wore orange, yellow and red crisscrossed bands, and she had a sword strapped to her back, although it seemed to be damaged from being crushed by the vines of the Flytrap.
My friends ran up to my side, and I felt a couple of hands lift me up from the ground. The girl clambered off of me, and I got lifted to my feet. "Ian, you are such an idiot! You could have killed us all by taking off your sunglasses!" Sky then cried out, looking towards me in anger. I lowered my head in shame, but then, I heard Adam sigh. "But... you saved us and those girls from being eaten by the Venus Flytrap. Thank you, Ssundee."
Smiling, I then looked over to the girls. The other girl looked very peculiar to me, although I didn't question what she was. The other girl had pale skin, pointed elf ears, long blue hair, and dark brown eyes. She wore a white, black and golden dress with blue trims, and she had on white and blue boots. A wreath of flowers was placed on her head, and in hand she carried a very strange looking weapon. "Ssundee is your name, huh?" The girl I was in love with then questioned, smiling slightly towards me.
Blushing ever so softly, I then nodded. "Yeah, sorry about the whole rage thing I just went through. You see, that is why I have my sunglasses, to protect me from losing control again. I had to do what I did to save you guys, and I'm sorry for almost killing you," I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
"No, you are perfectly fine," The other girl said, her voice heavily accented with a British accent. "We wouldn't have been able to get out had it not been for you doing that. I'm Vengelfe, and this here is my friend... April."
