Sierra's POV-
I don't know how long we were out, but when consciousness came back to me, it was morning. There were no Skeletons or Zombies around us, since they most likely burned when the sun hit them, and the only other mobs around us were a few stray Spiders that were just walking around and not attacking us. I groaned as I sat up, examining my body and rubbing my head. The explosion of the Squid-Mob creature had left a pretty big mark around the area, and everyone was covered in soot from the explosion. Brushing off the soot, I shakily stood up, and cast a better look around the area. Even though we were in the Ice Spikes biome, there was no ice around us in the direct vicinity. Pieces of Skeleton bones from the creature that the three Squids in hiding had created spread all across the ground, and occasionally I could spot a Zombie arm or a severed Enderman head. No immediate sign of the Squids can be seen by my eye.
Everyone was slowly getting up, and I turned to see them wiping the soot from themselves. Among everyone getting up from the exposed ground from the explosion, Ant groaned in pain as he lifted himself off of the ground, rubbing his head in pain. "Is everybody okay?" he asked in a strained voice.
A couple of the guys muttered back that they're somewhat okay, but it was better than being dead. I looked around the area we were still in. Some of the trees around us were scorched while others were unaffected by the blast and remained unharmed with snow and icicles still within the branches. Beneath the unaffected trees, some large piles of snow still remained near the bottom of the ledges. Then, I freeze when I see one of the piles of snow shake slightly. Emerging from the snow moments later is Bash, who shakes some of the snow from his head.
He abruptly stops and digs his hands into the snow, pulling out a pair of feet. "Ah! Oh, dear Notch! I can't feel my legs!" he cried out, although to me, it didn't look like those pair of legs belonged to him.
Then, appearing from behind the melon is Bodil, who states to him while laughing crazily, "Those are my legs."
Bash looks down at the legs and quickly sees the difference. "Oh," he stuttered out, letting Bodil's legs go and stumbles to his feet, Bodil getting up from the snow soon after.
Once everyone recovered from the shock and gathered together, Demented spoke out, "That was some fight that Adam put up with that creature."
"Wait... where is Sky?" I asked, immediately realizing that Sky was the one who defeated the creature and caused it to explode. I look around frantically for my brother, taking a few steps away from the others to find him. But all I could see were the mobs' severed body parts all across the ground and no sign of him. As I take a few more steps away from the group, I hear rapid footsteps behind me. I turn and see Bash's dog, PewFace, catching up to me and starts sniffing the ground.
I look in confusion as the dog pads away while keeping his head close to the ground. When he reaches near a pile of snow, he perks up and starts digging the snow away. I walk up to the canine in wonder of what he was digging up. But moments later, he picks up his head and looks towards me and dangling in his mouth...was Sky's amulet. I gasp in shock. PewFace trots up to me and picks his head towards me. I kneel and grab the amulet from his mouth, gazing over the item and seeing that it was back to its normal color and not damaged.
"His amulet..." I whispered, feeling tears filling my eyes and threatening to spill.
Suddenly, I hear PewFace cry out "There he is!"
I glance over my shoulder quickly. Across from where we are, I see my brother. He is pinned underneath a tree and beneath, I saw blood coating over the ground.
"Adam!" I cried out, getting to my feet and running over to him. The other soon join me as I catch up to my brother and kneel over. We all watched in silence as Adam lied pinned against the ground by the tree. Jerome walks up to the trunk of the tree and starts grunting as he pushes the large tree from Adam with all of his might. Eventually, he pushes the trunk off of him in a swift shove of power. Once the tree was off of him, I hear Sky let out a weak groan.
He lifts his head up with much difficulty and stares at us, one part of sunglasses destroyed while the other part is undamaged. I gasp when I see the stitches on his jaw ripped apart, blood pouring out of his wound. "Oh, Adam... was it worth it?" I asked him, so shocked to see him this way after all that has happened to all of us.
He takes a shaky breath in before responding weakly, "Yes... it-it was..."
He lets his head drop to the ground seconds later, breathing heavily. Ant walks up to him and says, "Come on, Adam. You gotta find the strength to keep going."
Sky doesn't respond. He only keeps his head against the ground as he takes deep and unsteady breaths. Then, he responds to Ant, "Please, guys. Don't... don't you all understand? We're only taking the road to our... inevitable deaths. We might as well face it... we were doomed from the start. This whole... journey made me realize that... I'm the one who started all the conflicts... between some of you... and I just walked away from that."
"That's not true, Adam!" Dawn cried out, walking up to me and standing next to me.
However, Adam just continued with, "No... it-it is true, Dawn. If we keep on going, we're all... gonna die. We all have no chance against Herobrine if we get all the weapons. It's-It's just us against him... and he's a god. How are we... we supposed to defeat a god? I let you all down. Despite everything that happened, we haven't made a difference in anything. We... we failed to save the world. And most of all... I failed you all."
"Adam, stop talking like that!" Ray said, flying over and standing side by side with Ant while folding her wings back.
Adam only glances up at the people in front of him, but he lowers his gaze soon after. "Don't deny it, guys. It's true... it's all true. But... if you're all willing to go get the last weapons and face Herobrine... go without me. Leave me here to... suffer in my own sorrows... and my blood," he said, lowering his voice as he only stares at the blood-soaked ground beneath him.
I cover my mouth to prevent the oncoming sobs from escaping, but I couldn't stop my tears as they started to flow freely from my eyes. I couldn't believe what Adam was saying. We all have already gotten so far in this journey and now, he wants us to just abandon him?! Before Adam could say anything else, I step forward and angrily stated at him, "We're not leaving you here, Adam!"
He glances up at me. I could tell from his expression that he is slightly stunned from me snapping at him. I shake slightly as I let out a weak sob. I feel my fury die down and only get replaced with sadness. Then, I said to him, "Ever... ever since you came into my life, I've been so happy and proud to call you my brother. You lead us through all the dangers and taught each of us to be strong and brave when in danger. I'd walk to the ends of the earth for you, Adam! We all got into this mess together. Now, we're all gonna get out of it... together. We're all family here... and families never leave a member behind. If we face against Herobrine... I would want all of us to go and face him. If we all die, at least we all die as a family together... and die trying to save the world."
Taking a deep breath, I look towards the ground as I start letting out my concealed sobs and weeps, letting my blond hair fall in front of my face. Then, a minute later, I felt a pair of hands gently caress my cheeks. I look up and see Adam, who had pulled himself to his feet and looks at me, his eyes glowing with emotion. I smile as he wipes away the tears from my face. Then, I look down at my hand and see that I'm still holding onto his amulet. I pick my hand up and show his amulet.
"You deserve to wear this, Adam," I said, showing him the amulet. He gently takes the amulet from my hand. He gazes over it for a moment, then he grabs the white loop and pulls it over his neck. Once his amulet is completely over his neck, the buttery piece and amethyst center begin to glow brightly. Then, I see Adam surrounded by sunlight. I glanced towards the sky, as well as everyone else. Peeking through the clouds near a opening is the sun, letting its life-giving sunlight shine through that opening and over my brother.
I look towards them, then I gasp lightly when I see his amulet begin to light up. Appearing from the buttery piece is two bright-yellow streaks, who glide around Sky's body for a few moments, then they fly near his bleeding stitch wound and sink into his skin. I watch in amazement as his wound begins to heal up and eventually, disappear out of sight. The sunlight soon dies down, and his amulet starts to glow dully. Adam runs his hand across his bottom jaw, unable to find the wound again.
I smile in relief, then I run up to him and embrace him in a hug. He returns the hug, and we hold each other in our grasp for a few moments, then we broke the hug. Adam gazes towards the sky for a bit, then he looks down at us as he grabs his butter sword and says to us, "Come on, guys. I think I know where we should go next... the End. And once we get the weapon there... the stakes are high now when we go to the Nether... but if we all die... then we die trying."
Everyone cheers, agreeing with Sky, even though most of them didn't like the fact about the dying being a huge possibility. I smile brightly towards my brother, and he smiles back to me. I glance back to some of my friends, and see that while most of them still looked horrible from the explosion, they looked happier and like they had hope in their eyes. Ray was glaring evilly at Demented, but other than that everyone was good.
Mitch looks around, and then he nudges Adam softly. "Dood, take a look," he said, and with him saying that, everyone turns their attention to the area that Mitch was looking to. Immediately, we all freeze in place. Not a far distance from where we were, we could see the bodies of the three Squids laying on the ground. Adam takes out his sword once again, and walks slowly up to them, holding his sword towards them. The rest of us follow behind him, and we surround the bodies of the Squids. I look down, and quickly recognize all of them, but barely can. Derp, the leader, was lying on the ground, the scar on his face clearly visible to see. He was lying on the ground with his face up, his eyes closed tightly. Derpious was close by, his face to the ground and his tentacles spread out behind him. Derpy was nearby as well, lying on his side with his eyes shut tightly. They did not look alive, which was a good sign.
Dawn clutched onto Adam's arm, and then she asked, "Are they... alive?"
Adam poked Derp with his sword, but the creature didn't respond. Finally, a moment later, Adam nods. "I am pretty sure they are dead," he said, and we all breathed in relief. They were dead, that was a good sign.
Right then, Ant's eyes light up, and then he starts digging through his bag. We all look at him in confusion, and then he pulls out a round object. It takes me a second to recognize the object as an Eye of Ender. "An Eye of Ender! Great, we needed that! Why do you have that with you, anyways?" Jerome cried out, walking up next to me and putting his arm casually around my shoulder.
Ant shrugs. "I was carrying it in case one of us needed to go to the End faster than we had planned. Good thing I have it, that way we don't have to search for Blaze rods to make them," Ant said, and then he turned around. "Let's see where the Ender portal is." Throwing the pearl into the air, it immediately flies up into the air, going in the west. Everyone gathered up their stuff, and we quickly followed after the pearl.
For a couple hours we followed the pearl forward, following it as it continued to lead us towards where the portal was. As we walk, I talk with Mitch and Jerome, talking to them about the things we were going to do when we got back to the city life and back to normal. We definitely wanted to do the Hunger Games again, which would be easier for us since we had gained so much fighting experience from this journey. But none of us really talked about the future much past that. We knew that things had changed since we got on this journey, like me and Jerome getting together, but we didn't know how it was going to affect our lives. We also knew that it was going to be hard to defeat Herobrine, and some of us could die. We didn't want to plan stuff that wouldn't ever happen.
We passed through many biomes, transitioning from snow to heat to smog. It got so hot that all the girls that had long hair, like me, Eagle, Ashley, April, Ray, Jen, and Spade, had to put our hair up so that it wouldn't bother us. I was glad that I had ditched my jacket a while ago, but some of the others had to take off their jackets because of the heat. Some of the guys had to do the same, especially the ones that wore suit jackets. We had never dealt with this extreme of heat before, because CubeCity was situated in a plains biome. The heat was horrible.
Finally, Ant threw up the pearl one last time, and the pearl floating right above our heads. A smile spread across his face. "The portal is beneath our feet!" Ant cried, putting away the pearl and kneeling down on the ground. Everyone knelt as well, exhausted from walking for so long. We had stopped in a plains biome, and the sky above us was bright blue, which was abnormal with all the storms that has happened lately.
Sky knelt to the ground as well, and put a hand on it. After a moment, he stood up. "Everyone, get out your shovels and picks. It's time to dig," he commanded, and within seconds, everyone had pulled out their shovels and picks. Without another word, we all begin digging, all working together to strip mine into the ground. We didn't hit many problems while digging down, only once hitting an underground pool of water, and once hitting a cave system. None of those obstacles stopped us though. We continued working our way down, making a nice staircase so that we could easily get out once we were done with the End. We went down quite a ways, going down who knows how far, but finally we hit the dungeons that surrounded the End Portal.
One by one we all climbed down into the dungeons, and Husky and Gizzy lit up the room we were in, making sure that no mobs could reach us. Once they secured the area, we all took a better look around. "This looks like no one has been here in hundreds of years," Wolf commented, pulling off his hood from over his head. That was the first time I heard him speak in a while, but that was because the author forgot to add him in for such a long time (Thanks for breaking the fourth wall, Sierra!).
Spade, who I haven't heard from at all in a very long time as well, nodded in agreement. "This place gives me the creeps," she muttered, shivering slightly from the cold of the dungeons.
"Don't worry, it gives us all the creeps," Sparklez said, looking around and studying the place closely.
Adam stepped forward, and moved his torch in a large sweep. Immediately, a wall of cobwebs goes up in flames, shriveling up quickly. "Everyone, grab torches and spread out. These dungeons are vast and the portal could be anywhere. Stay in groups though, and when you find the portal, let everyone else know," Adam said, and immediately everyone split up into groups. I ended up in a group with Jerome, Adam, Ashley and Bodil, and we went to the left, making our way through the dark of the dungeons. Adam took the lead, with me and Jerome right behind him and Ashley and Bodil right behind us. None of us really talked, especially Bodil, who was still completely depressed that his best friend and his lover had died sacrificing themselves yesterday. He no longer really laughed, and the excitement in his eyes had completely dulled away from his loss. I really felt bad for him, but that was how I felt for everyone. Everyone had suffered losses, and no one really could get away from it.
We made our way through many rooms, hitting many dead ends in the process of it. We went down a flight as well, and once we ran into another group which consisted of Alix, Jason, Brotato, Bashur and Spade. Finally, after ten minutes of looking around, we hear a yell come out from across the dungeons. We turn around and start heading towards where the shout had come from. Within a minute we had found the room with the End Portal, which actually was a short distance from where we were. Everyone soon made it there, and we all gazed towards the unfinished portal that we stood before. The portal itself wasn't that big, but underneath the portal was a pool of lava. Several steps led up to the portal, and as we studied it, we realized that we had to fill in about seven spots.
Ant walked forward, and began to dig in his bag. He quickly pulled out many Eye of Enders, and carefully walking along the portal edge, he began to place the pearls in the direction they were supposed to face. As he put them in, they seemed to seal in, and they began to glow a bright color. I watched the whole thing in silence, along with everyone else. Jerome was to my left, and Jen was to my right. They stood there watching Ant carefully, barely breathing. That's how the room was. Ant placed the last pearl, and quickly leapt backwards to not fall into the portal. Immediately the portal lit up, and we all stared into the swirling beauty of the purple portal.
He turned towards us, and he said, "Well, the portal is open. We going to go to the End now?"
Adam walked forward, studying the portal for a couple of seconds. Then, he looked up, and he turned to everyone else. "Guys, this is going to be extremely hard. The Ender Dragon is very strong, and no one has yet killed him because he is constantly regenerating his health by the Ender Crystals that are up on the high towers all around the End. We will need to fight the dragon and destroy the crystals to even have a chance of defeating this creature. If you are up to the challenge, we will go in, possibly get killed, and defeat the dragon. Is anyone going to back down?"
No one spoke up, no one even blinked. With a smile, Adam then turned around, and he said, "Time to get the Ender Energy Tsurugi." He leapt into the portal, and disappeared within a second. Without a moment's hesitation, everyone began to run forward, leaping into the portal as well. I was one of the last ones to jump in, waiting for everyone else to jump in. Jerome and Mitch stood by me for waiting for everyone else to go, and Mitch turned to me as he was walking forward.
"Don't keep everyone waiting, biggums," he teased, smiling. He then back flipped into the portal, disappearing within a blink of an eye. Jerome tugged me along, and then he leapt in as well. I stood at the edge of the portal, and breathed in. Time to defeat the Ender Dragon. Closing my eyes, I then dove into the portal, and immediately as I did that, I felt my body get tugged out of that dimension and into a dimension of darkness. We were in the End.
0.0 The End, already there, wow. Yeah, it seems that just a couple chapters ago they had left CubeCity. Yeah, I know, it feels like that! Anyways, let's do another challenge! If you guys want a really epic battle to happen between the Minecrafters and the Ender Dragon, review a #EnderBattle. If you want a really quick battle and a quick chapter to come up, review a #EpicEndChapter. You can do both as well if you wish! Anyways, I'm Ninja, and I am Kitty, and have an amazing day, guys!
