Chapter 26: Thousand years
Damon wakes up and walks down the stairs, he sees Tyler, Alaric and Klaus still sleeping. Damon doesn't see Claire around, he sighs and walks towards his table full with Bourbon. He pours a glass full and walks outside the Mansion, and sits on the porch. Damon looks at the glass he's holding in his hand. He smiles when he sees Claire's car parking infront of his Mansion. Claire get's out of the car and smiles when she sees Damon. She uses her vampspeed to stand beside him, Claire hugs Damon and says:"Did you miss me?" Damon smiles and says:"Off course I missed you." Claire kisses Damon on his cheek and sits beside him. He looks at her and says:"Did you already finish work? Isn't it still early?" Claire shakes her head and says:"It's 2pm Damon, Did you sleep well" Damon sighs and says:"I fell asleep at 6am, I'm still sleepy." Claire noddes and grabs Damon's hand and says:"Let's go sleep some more, I'm also tired."
Damon smiles and stands up, he uses his vampspeed to stand in his bedroom. Claire kicks her shoes off and takes her leather jacket off. She then jumps on Damon's Bed, he smiles and lays beside her. Claire snuggles against him and says:"I always feel at peace when I'm with you." Damon strokes Claire's hair gently and says:"Same here, let's sleep a bit." Claire noddes and closes her eyes, Damon looks at her and smiles. he thinks:'God, I love her so much.' Claire says with her eyes closed:"Staring at me again?" Damon grins and says:"Well you're beautiful when you're sleeping." Claire smiles and says:"I love you Damon." Damon smiles and says:"I love you too Claire." He then kisses Claire on her forehead and closes his eyes to sleep.
2 hours late...
Klaus opens his eyes and sees tyler stretching out like a cat. He grins and says:"Goodmorning Tyler." Tyler smiles and says:"Morning Klaus." Klaus stands up from the couch and says:"Did you see Claire somewhere?" Tyler shakes his head and grabs his cellphone, and says with his eyes wide open:"Damn, It's 4pm. We slept almost the whole day." Klaus chuckles and says:"After yesterday, who wouldn't be tired." Alaric sighs and says:"Morning guys." Klaus smiles and says:"Did you sleep well?" Alaric noddes and says:" yeah I slept well, but I'm dizzy now." Tyler grins and says:"Same here Alaric." Klaus walks towards the stairs and says:"I'm going to wake up Damon, I'm sure he forgot the time." Tyler noddes and Alaric smiles and sits down on the couch.
Klaus walks up the stairs and stops infront of Damon's bedroom. He sighs when he sees Claire sleeping beside Damon. Klaus stands still for a second and walks back down stairs. Alaric sees Klaus and says:"Did you wake that lazy guy?" Klaus shakes his head and says:"I'm going home, I still have some stuff to do. Iff Claire wakes up, tell her where I am." Tyler noddes and Klaus leaves with vampspeed, Alaric look at Tyler and says:"He left fast, I geuss he's busy." Tyler shakes his head and says:"Or he found Claire sleeping beside Damon." Alaric sighs and walks up the stairs, he smiles when he sees Claire snuggled up against Damon. Alaric smiles and says:"Damon wake up, It's 4pm."
Damon opens his eyes and says:"I slept so good." He looks at Claire and smiles, he then says:"Claire wake up, the day is almost over." Claire opens her eyes and yawns, she looks at Damon and says:"Goodevening Damon." Damon smiles and says:"Come, let's get up." Claire sits straight and sees Alaric leaning against the wall. She smiles and says:"Did you sleep well?" Alaric noddes and says:"Klaus went home, he said he has some stuff to do." Claire noddes and Damon says:"Is Tyler still here?" Alaric smiles and says:"Yeah, He's downstairs talking on the phone with Caroline." Damon rolls his eyes and says:"That guy calls her every second of the day." Claire grins and stands up from the bed, Alaric says:"I'm going home, see you guys at The Grill later."
Damon noddes and Alaric leaves, He hears Damon saying:"Just a minute Claire." Aalaric smiles and leaves the Salvatore Mansion, Claire stands with vampspeed downstairs. Tyler winks her and talks further on the phone. Damon stands beside Claire with vampspeed and hugs Claire. She smiles and Damon kisses her, she kisses him back. Tyler rolls his eyes and says to Caroline on the phone:"These two are just kissing each other." Claire grins and says: "Jealous?" Tyler smiles and says:"see you later Care." He ends the call and says:"Not at all, I'm going to see Caroline. See you guys around." He then uses his vampspeed to leave the house. Damon Looks at Claire and says:"What should we do now?" Claire bite her lip and says:"I don't know."
Damon grins and says:"Let's do something like this." he kisses Claire and says:"And something like this, he pulls her against him and says:"And this." Damon kisses Claire with passion and she kisses him back. Her hands playing with Damon's hair, he puts his arms around her waist. Claire breaks their kiss and says:"I love you so much Damon." Damon smiles:"You said it twice now." Claire smiles and says:"And I'll say it again, and again. I love you Damon." He smiles and Kisses Claire and says:"Me too." Claire leans against Damon and says:"I just wanna stay always like this." Damon sighs and says:"Then let's stay like this." Claire sighs and says:"I have to go see Klaus." Damon goes with his hand through his hair and says:"Go see Klaus, I'll be waiting for you."
Claire looks at Damon and says:"Do you want me to stay?" Damon noddes and says:"Yeah, but you said you have to go see Klaus." Claire pouts and says:"I'll be back soon." Damon noddes and says:"Then go now, so you'll come back quickly." Claire smiles and kisses Damon, he kisses her back. Damon breaks their kiss and Claire let go of Damon. She sighs and says:"See you later Damon." Damon noddes and Claire uses her vampspeed to run to Klaus's house. Damon sighs and lays down on the couch, Meanwhile Claire enters Klaus's house. She doesn't hear a thing, Claire walks up the stairs and hears some voices coming out of Klaus's room. Claire opens the door and sees Klaus kissing a brown haired girl, She looks at him with her eyes wide open. Klaus breaks the kiss and sees Claire standing near the door.
Claire was shocked, she didn't know what she had to do. Claire sees that the girl was wearing Klaus's shirt. Klaus was wearing only his pants, he walks towards Claire and says:'I can explain this." Claire shakes her head and runs down the stairs, tears streaming down her cheeks. She runs to the front door, Klaus blocks her from leaving. He grabs her hand and says:"I drank alot after seeing you sleeping beside Damon. I was sleeping downstairs, and you couldn't possibly wake me up? But instead you went to sleep beside Damon, to me it looks a iff you've chosen him." Claire shakes her head and stammels:"And y..you just s... sleep with another girl? Did I s...say that I chose D...Damon?"
Klaus sighs and says:"Listen Claire, I saw you walk towards Damon's bedroom in the night. And I was sleeping on the couch beside you, It's as iff you didn't see me sleeping there. the only thing you could think of is Damon." Claire's eyes are filles with tears, they fall down her cheek. She looks mad and shouts:"It doesn't matter, You slept with another girl!" Klaus shakes his head and says:"And you sleep with Damon." Claire sighs and says:"Why did youu do that?" Klaus sighs and says:"I did it without thinking, like I told you I was drunk." Claire goes with her hands through her hair and says:"I told you that I love you and Damon, It's not my fault that I fell in love with both of you. And you punish me through sleeping with another girl?"
Claire shakes her head and Klaus says:"I've been with you, loved you for more then 100years. And when you came here, I had a feeling you would Fall in love all over again with one of your friends. Normally you should have chosen me, Not Damon." Claire takes a step back and says:"I've also loved you for over 100years, and I still love you. I never wanted to hurt you, never. But I don't know iff you think the same." Klaus goes with his hand through his hair and says:"Tell me who do you love more? Me or Damon?" Claire wipes her tears with her hand, but they keep flowing down her cheeks. She says:"I love both of you." Klaus shakes his head and says:"you can't possibly love two persons at the same time. It's not normal, You love someone more then the other."
Claire leans against the wall and says while breathing heavy:"Not true, I can love two persons at the same time." Klaus looks Mad and shouts:"Stop lying to yourself, I've been quiet the whole time. But I don't have any patience left, I need to know who you love more!" Claire looks at him and says nothing, Klaus sighs and shouts:"Answer me! Who do you love more?" Claire goes with her hand through her hair and shouts:"I don't know! I really don't know." Klaus was getting really mad, he looks at Claire and says:"Who do you love more Claire, I won't ask it again." Claire ignores Klaus, he punches against the wall.
Claire flinches and Klaus says:"just answer the damn question Claire." Claire was getting tired of Klaus's weird behavior, she says without thinking:"Damon." When that name came out of her mouth, she immediately regretted it. Claire saw Klaus looking at her as iff his life was over, he looked so fragile. Claire grabs Klaus's hand and says:"I just said it without thinking, I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that." Klaus shakes his head and looks sad, he says:"Go home Claire, you made your self clear." Claire stammels:"Klaus listen t...to me, I didn't m...mean to say that." Klaus looks hurt and says:"Just go, Claire." More tears stream down Claire's cheek, she opens the frontdoor and leaves.
Klaus grabs the vase beside him and trows it against the wall. The vase chatter into small pieces of glass. Klaus puts his hand on his forehead and grabs his bottle of scotch. He drinks a mouthfull and leans against the wall. Meanwhile Claire entered the Grill with red eyes. She sits beside the bar and orders a bottle of Bourbon. Claire pours a glass full and drinks it at once, Tyler whistles and says:"Breakfast for champions?" Claire pours another glass, and also drinks it at once. Tyler felt that Claire wasn't her usual self, cause Claire would smile or make jokes. He sits beside her and says:"What's wrong Claire?" She looks at him and Tyler looks sad when he sees that Claire's crying.
He puts his hand on her shoulder and says:"Tell me Claire what happened" Claire shakes her head and pours another glass full, Tyler takes the glass from her and says:"I want to help you, but you need to tell me why you're crying." Claire goes with her hand through her hair and says:"Klaus got mad, he aske dme who I love more. He was acting weird, I never saw him like that." Claire sighs and says:"And I saw him kiss another girl, he also slept with her. He said he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing. He drank because he saw me sleeping beside Damon this morning." Tyler shakes his head and says:'That's why he was acting weird when he came down from Damon's room. So what happened next?"
Claire wipes her tears with her hand and says:"I got sick of him shouting at me, and without thinking I said Damon." Tyler noddes and says:"So you love Damon more?" Claire looks confused and says:"Yes, No I don't know." Tyler sighs and says:"What are you going to do now?" Claire grabs her glass from tyler's hand and says:"Drink this and drink the whole day." She drinks her glass at once and Tyler says:"Should I call Damon?" Claire shakes her head and leans against the bar table. Tyler stands up from his chair and says:"I have to help my mum with something, don't go anywhere. I'll be back soon." Claire noddes and pours another glass full. Tyler leaves the bar and Claire buys another bottle of Bourbon. She stands from her chair and leaves the bar.
Once she's outside, she uses her vampspeed to run to the Salvatore mansion. When Claire arrives there, she sees Damon cleaning the livingroom. Tears flow down her cheeks, she leans against the wall and whispers a silencing spell. Claire keeps crying while staring at Damon, she grabs her call phone and calls him. He smiles when he sees That Claire is calling him, he answers the call and says:"Hello beautiful." Claire says:"Damon." Damon knows when Claire is crying, he says with a worried look on his face:"Where are you?" Claire cries and says:"vido." Damon turns around and sees Claire, she's looking at him while stands beside her with vampspeed, Claire hugs him and cries in his arms.
Damon puts his arms around her and says:"I won't ask what's wrong with you, till you calm down." Claire snifs and says with a cracked voice:"I don't know what to do, I just feel at ease with you." Damon chuckles and says:"Is that why you're crying?" Claire shakes her head and says:"I caught Klaus kissing another girl, he also slept with her." Damon clenches his fist and his jaw, Claire puts her hand on his cheek and says:"He asked me who I love the most." Damon sighs and Claire says:"I said without thinking your name." Damon looks at Claire with a surprised look on his face. Claire looks at Damon and says:"I still don't understand why I didn't say Klaus's name. Maybe after all this time, I still love you the most. Without knowing it."
Damon still couldn't believe what he just heard, She loved him more then Klaus. Him, the guy who didn't look for her after many years. And still she loves him, Damon Salvatore. Claire smiles and says:"I geuss this means that I don't need to leave this town now." Damon lifts an eyebrow and says:" Leave the town? Why?" Claire sighs and says:"I was about to leave this town tomorrow, cause I didn't know who I loved more." Damon shakes his head and Claire says:"But I'll stay here with you, I won't leave after knowing my true feelings." Damon sighs and says:"Claire, I've loved you for over hundred years and I will love you for a thousand more." A tear rolls down Claire's cheek, Damon wipes her tear with his hand.
Claire smiles and says:"I will always love you Damon." Damon smiles and says:"Finally our time has come, It was never right before. But it's right now." Claire noddes and Damon pulls her towards him, He kisses her. Claire kisses him back and puts her arms around his neck. Damon kisses her and smiles, She smiles back. Damon then kissed her again, They where both lost in their arms. To notice that Stefan was looking at them with a smile on his face. He smiles and leaves the house with vampspeed.
