Sky's POV-

"Wha-what? Son?" I exclaimed, looking in shock towards Notch. I couldn't believe that I could be the son to Notch, but then, Notch shook his head.

"Not in the form that you are thinking of, Sky. You are all my children, I am the Father of Minecraftia. I created you all, therefore, you are all my children."

Suddenly, I heard Bashur say, "So, now that we're all here and taken three months for us to finally get to this point, Father... I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Next thing I know, I see the melon rushing towards Notch to hurt him.

"Bash, wait, don't!" I called out to him, but he didn't listen. But just before he can throw a punch, four men in suited armor with large, white wings and armed with sharp spears block the melon's way towards Notch. He backs away in fear as the Valkyries force him away with their weapons.

"Back away from our Lord!" one of the Valkyries warned, glaring daggers at the men. Another one of them states, "No one except us is to come within 10 feet of our creator!"

Then, I hear Notch say "At ease, Valkyries. These Minecrafters mean no harm to me." I look ahead as the armored guardians look at each other and reluctantly, wield their weapons back and step out of the way, but they still keep their distance close to us. Bash backs away from the god, but I step forward and gaze at Notch with a blank expression.

"Notch... why? Why did you let this untamed chaos happen to the Overworld?" I asked him, desperate for an answer as to why Notch didn't help us in our time of need.

Notch sighs deeply as he looks to the side. After what seemed like a whole hour of silence, he finally spoke up. "Because... I was too much of a coward to face against my own brother again. Seeing how much he has turned from a sibling that once ruled by my side into a fearsome and unforgiving man who's thirst for power is unquenchable, it breaks my heart. But I can't summon enough strength to stop him. He's my brother, and I still care about him." He sighs again before looking ahead at us and resumes with, "I tried to talk him out of it, but he refused and insisted that we have a battle to determine who is the deserving ruler of the Overworld. I denied his request, however. I couldn't bring up the power to harm him. But in return, he destroyed cities and turn them into replicas of his home in the Nether."

I gaped in shock. All this time, I thought Notch was the strongest and most powerful god to exist. But I guess everyone has their flaws. He was afraid of hurting his own brother, and he doesn't want to see the world he created be destroyed by Herobrine's actions. "Which is why I'm counting on you, my son, and all of you, my children," Notch said, looking to everyone behind me.

"M... me?" I questioned.

"Yes. Because Herobrine is too far gone to ever relinquish his evil ways and rule by my side again, I'm afraid that I have no other choice... but to put him out of his misery," Notch said, sadness flowing within his tone. I heard quick footsteps and look to my left side to see Ant next to me.

"You mean... kill him?" he asked in shock.

Notch replies, "I'm afraid so, AntVenom. I could never see myself to harm my own brother that wounds would plunge him into his inevitable and painful death. Nothing could kill him... expect for the Forevermore Sword. It'll make his death quick and painless, which would give him an final understanding that I still care and that the only reason I banished him to the Nether was to protect himself from harming himself or anyone else."

"Well, I-" I started, but before I could finish, I heard someone behind us shout "Lord!"

I look behind myself and see a Valkyrie fly over us and land in front of Notch, but this one is armored up with heavy pieces of butter armor with ancient writing symbols embellished over the armor and a butter helmet with white tints hid every part of his face, expect for his eyes. "My Lord, Herobrine and his Nether minions have been spotted making their way up the mountain. I think they're preparing an attack!"

Immediately, I gasped in fright. I heard the others gasp as well. Notch replies calmly, "Then, we'll need to set up a barrier to keep him away from here as long as possible. Ajax, summon the Valkyrie army and gather up at the entrance to the Aether and guard it. I'll be there in a second."

"Yes, my Lord," Ajax replied and with that, he expands his wings and takes off like a bullet, making me back away slightly due to the sudden blast of air emitted from him. He disappears in an instant. Notch jogs forward and makes his way towards the doorway, but I quickly run up to him.

"Notch, wait!" I exclaimed, making him stop in his place and turn around. "Notch, let us help as well! After all, we're the ones who lead them to the mountain."

However, Notch shakes his head side to side and says, "That won't be necessary, Adam. I'll try to go out there and fight against him as much as I can. In the meantime, I want you and the others to be in the safety of one of my assistants." Notch turns around and shouts "Jeb! Dinnerbone!" Suddenly, appearing in front of the doorway are two men. One of them is elderly with a leaf-ring on top of his head, dark eyes, dressed in a brown and light-brown outfit. The other is a young-looking man with a black hat, blue eyes, a short beard, dressed in an aqua-green shirt with blue pants, and covered with a white lab coat.

"Yes, Notch?" the younger man questioned.

Notch stated, "We have an urgent problem afoot. Herobrine is on his way up the mountain. We need to slow his attack as quickly as we can. Jeb, you lead the Minecrafters behind me to the depths of the building. Keep them safe."

Jeb steps forward and says, "Yes, sir." I couldn't believe what was happening. Why couldn't Notch just let us go out there and stop Herobrine?

Then, I heard Notch say to the other man, "Dinnerbone, come with me. We have to regroup with the Valkyries and prepare for the attack."

Dinnerbone replied, "Yes, Notch. Let's get going." Notch and Dinnerbone quickly run out the entrance and out of the building, leaving us inside with Jeb. I run towards the doorway and look around for Notch, but he and Dinnerbone are long gone. I growl in frustration, grinding my teeth against each other.

Jeb walks up to me and says, "Don't worry, Sky. Notch is the strongest god I know. He can handle his brother. In the meantime, follow me. I have to get you and the others to safety."

I let out a deep sigh before replying, "Fine." Jeb grabs the doors' handles and closes both of them. He quickly takes off and runs up to a door. He looks over and signals with his hand for us to follow him. Reluctantly, I do what he says and follow him, as well as the others. I clutched the Forevermore Sword tightly, not wanting to let go of the powerful weapon for I felt that I would have to use it if things got worse than they are now. Jeb leads us up a staircase, taking quick movements up the steps to get to wherever he is leading us quicker.

After what seemed like a long ascend to the top, we reached a door, Jeb quickly opens it and leads us inside. One by one, each of us went through the doorway and into the other room. After I'm the last one to go through, Jeb quickly closes the door and locks it. He takes a couple of breaths before turning around and saying, "We should be safe in here." I take a look at my new surroundings. It looked a lot like a throne room, with multiple tall windows side by side against two walls that lead down a short passageway with a red carpet. At the very end of the room, two thrones say against the wall. One had a banner that had two green lines that cross together to make an X while the other had a banner with orange lines going across it.

I take a few steps forward at the throne with the orange banner. Jeb slowly approaches me as I examine the throne. "Does this throne belong to Herobrine?" I questioned, looking over my shoulder to face Jeb.

"This once... belonged to Herobrine. Now, it is nothing more than just a relic from a much simpler time that existed, but now... it seems to have gone extinct." I was shocked that Notch would still have Herobrine's throne next to his, especially for thousands of years before any of us even existed. But, things change... and not always for the best for everyone. I avert my eyesight away from the throne and look ahead at my friends, mostly at my team and Bash. All of them, suited up in the most unusual armor I've ever seen before.

Jerome is dressed in butter armor with a couple of spikes that point outward. A red, curve of feathers bunched up together is attached to his helmet. There are noticeable details in his armor, decorated around the body armor and sleeve pieces. He wore gloves with yellow and red details, along with a red fin. Near his legs, a pair of kneecaps with a red flame covered his knees and sandals with four straps, one of them going over the other. In my opinion, he looked a lot like a Spartan.

Mitch is suited in red armor, his helmet covering all of his face but it exposes his eyes and a bit of his hair. A dinosaur skull rested on top of his head. The rest of his armor had grey, red and black details. In front of his chest are two diamond swords with their blades against each other and around his knees are light-blue kneecaps with a sharp point. Ian is suited in black and green armor, the details on the dark armor mostly consisting of leaves. Attached to one of his arms is a leaf-like shield.

Ty is suited up in Ender-like armor, all black along with purple and light-purple details. A pair of Enderman-like eyes is detailed in front of his helmet, and on his chest is a Enderman with horns on the sides of its head. Jason is armored in grey and black armor, large spikes stuck out on his arms, chest, and knees.

Dawn is dressed in black, orange, and yellow armor. The details of a cobra ran from her leggings all the way up to her body. Flame details were drawn on her helmet and hands. Her eyes looked a little different, both of her eyes being lighter than normal. Husky is still suited in the same armor he acquired before when we battled against Derpollolus. His expression, however, is hidden behind the helmet he wears. I couldn't tell how he was feeling at the moment, but I knew that he wanted to hide his expression, especially after dealing with the death of his girlfriend.

Seto is suited in armor that is colored multiple shades of blue. The crown he wears is hidden within his helmet and is also blue, as well as a small part of his brown eyes. And finally, Bash is suited up in green and neon-green armor, a yellow poison symbol embellishing his chest armor. He is wearing a green helmet with a skull on it and two bones crossing behind it. He seemed excited, though, looking over his new armor. "Despite the danger that we're currently in, I'm totally digging the new armor we have," Bash said, adjusting his helmet for a moment.

Suddenly I heard Husky say in a annoyed tone, "Even at this time, all you can think about is new armor!?"

Bash replies back in slight confusion, "Well, I'm sorry, I just thought-"

"You thought what?!" Husky interrupted him, making him flinch back in fear. "You thought that you can just get new armor and pass it off as it was nothing?! We're all gonna die out here, and you expect the armor we have to protect us?!"

I step in between them and face Husky. "Dude, calm down!" I exclaimed, trying to not let another argument escalate into a brawl.

"Look, we're not gonna die. I know that we can stop Herobrine once and for all, but we can't do it if we don't trust each other. Okay... we're all different in our personalities and likes, but in the end, all of that doesn't really matter. It's what's inside a person that really matters, not what's on the outside of one," I explained, hoping to get through to Quentin. "I know that you're feeling terrible after you lost Vengelfe, but you need to put her aside and focus on what really matters right now... the future of our world. She would have wanted you to go stop the Nether God from taking our lives".

Husky slightly dips his head downward, making his armor creak. After a bit of silence between us, he slowly picks his head back up and says, "Okay. You're right, Adam. I shouldn't let all of these negative thoughts throw me off of our main objective."

I smile slight as I nod to him, but then, I hear Jeb call out, "Uh... Minecrafters? You better come take a look."

I gazed over my shoulder and saw Jeb standing next to one of the windows in the throne room. We all approached the windows and looked out, gasping as we saw a battle between the Valkyries and the Nether mobs taking place a long distance away from the building. The battle was deadly. The mountain side glimmered with the spilled blood of the Nether mobs, and from where we stood the moonlight lit up the dead forms of the Valkyries. I knew little about the Valkyries, but of what I did know and learned was that Valkyries were dead people that had gained the honor of protecting Notch, and they were not human. They could still die, but not as humans could. Their bodies disappeared in a shower of particles, never staying dead on the ground for long.

Examining the scene, I tried to spot where Notch was. There were just too many mobs and too many angels to see very much. Obviously the others were as well, and finally Dawn exclaimed, "Guys, look, Notch!" She pointed towards a certain hole in the battle, where two powerful beings were fighting. One shone with a heavenly white light, the other a blood red light. It was no question to which one was which. Notch looked exhausted from the battle, his light being dimmer than normal, while Herobrine looked to be as strong as ever.

"Jeb, how can you allow Notch to go out there and kill himself?!" I exclaimed, looking over the immortal god.

Clasping onto the hilt of the sword he had strapped to his side, Jeb said, "Notch has battled Herobrine for years, longer than you can ever imagine. He knows what to do, and I know that I should not disobey his orders. You mortals should learn that as well."

That made me angry. I turned to Jeb, grasping onto the collar of his shirt. "Listen to me, Jeb. I have risked everything I loved to get here. My home was destroyed by Herobrine, and I have lost many friends that won't get to witness our home being rebuilt because they died on this journey. I weild the most powerful weapon in the universe, and I'm not going to stand by watching the person that has been hunting me and my family down since he destroyed my home defeat the God of Minecraftia. If Notch loses this fight, Herobrine can destroy the world easily! You may no live there, but I do, and I don't want to live in a living hell."

Jeb's eyes widened in shock and surprise, and he looked over to the window. A minute later, Jeb sighed, and then he said, "I don't care anymore, go ahead and get yourself killed. But I won't be accepting you in the Aether when you die for a stupid reason. I guess Notch gave you guys agency for a reason... just don't use it to kill yourself."

I released Jeb from my grasp, my anger pulsing through me. I turned to my friends, who were looking over to me, and I said, "Come on, we caused Herobrine to come here, so let's help Notch get him away from here." Many of my friends just nodded, their faces twisted in fear of what was to come. But no one moved from where they stood.

"Guys, come on, we need to stop Herobrine!" I exclaimed, turning back towards my friends.

"Adam, we have come this far, but none of us wants to die. We are willing to help you... but... at the same time, we don't want to help you," Sierra said, looking over to me with sadness in her eyes.

Before I could proceed, I take a look at the window and gasp when I see a body zooming right towards us.

Half of us jumped out of the way as the other half gasped while the body crashed through the window, even breaking the foundation of the building when it crashed into the wall of the other side. We waited as the glass flew everywhere, scattering across the carpeted floor. When the glass finally stopped flying, I gaze up from the floor and see Notch struggling to his feet. The others begin to get up as well, but stay stationary as another figure appears in the large hole made into the building: Herobrine.

I glare at the Nether God as he takes a few steps forward before stopping. Notch manages to get to his feet and stands straight as he returns an angered look at his brother. The room we were in quickly envelops into a eerie silence, the only sound that is heard is Herobrine's heavy and enraged breathing. Each ragged breath he took sounded weak, and yet he managed to stand tall. After what seemed like an eternity of us looking at the gods who are glaring each other down, Notch spoke up, but towards his brother.

"Look at you, Herobrine. You were once a sibling of mine that ruled alongside me since the day we were born. Now, you're just an unforgiving, gaunt shell of a man to whom I no longer can consider a brother," Notch stated, his words as cold as ice as well as his gaze at his own sibling. However, when I looked over to Herobrine, his glare remained the same as he listens to the harsh words from Notch. Notch continues with, "The injustices that you've committed have not only affected those who you have tortured, but to those who want this childish scuffle between us to cease. But because I don't have a heart of darkness like you possess, I'm issuing you one final warning. Either you end this grudge that you've had for a thousand years and let the past go... or DIE!"

The room is once again sent into a silence. Herobrine's unchanged stare at Notch only deepens into a much sinister look. His blank, white eyes only glow brighter. We could only sit back and watch the gods as they stood only a few feet away from each other. After a few minutes of silence, I hear Herobrine let out an amused, deep chuckle. He takes a short breath in before questioning, "Do you really have the ability to defeat me, Notch? You're way past your prime and yet, you continue to rule your so called 'land' with the help of the Valkyries because you can no longer function your duties. And here we are, standing in front of each other. If you were truly a god, you would have the strength to fight against someone that used to be close to you."

"I am a god! And you know what?! I've had it with all of your wrong-doing and all the madness that you have placed upon my land! If I have to fight you to prove that I'm the greater god than you... then one shall stand, one shall fall," Notch exclaimed.

Herobrine smirks as he summons in his hands a blood-red sword. He states back to Notch, "Agreed. Only this time... I shall be the one to come out victorious."

Suddenly, Herobrine charged forward, his sword ready to thrust into his brother. As he lunged, a strange, powerful energy burst erupted from him, sending all of us backwards and away from the fight. I tumbled backwards, but managed to keep my footing and coming to a complete stop. Many of my other friends weren't as lucky. The energy burst turned dark, surrounding us all in a shroud of darkness. It was so dark that I couldn't see a couple feet in front of me. I tried calling out to my friends, trying to see if they were alright, but the strange energy made it so that I couldn't speak. I could barely move. Mustering up all of the strength that I had, I moved forward, feeling like I was walking through a thick layer of mud.

I finally broke through the energy field, and collapsed on the ground once the energy released me. I coughed, trying to breathe properly again, and then I looked up to witness the dangerous battle that was going on between the two gods. Actually, I didn't see anything except for the last couple of seconds, when Herobrine was standing over Notch, his sword ready to pierce into the heart of his brother. I reached out to try and cry out to him, but I was too late. Herobrine thrust his sword down into his brother's heart, and immediately as he did that, Notch gasped, shocked by the violent action. Herobrine pulled out the sword, and then Notch fell over, dead.
