It was already morning break in Republic City. There was a ferry that was headed to Air Temple Island to drop off the passengers; Asami, Mako, and Bolin. They had already found out the news of Hiroshi Sato being the Equalist's manufacturer of weapons, when they came back to the Sato mansion while the police had already secured the entire property. Asami was heartbroken to find out that her father was the one arming these terrorists and criminals with weapons, and she couldn't bear living in the mansion, knowing that it was a hideout for crime and terrorism.

Luckily, Bolin called Korra for help, and she offered them to stay at Air Temple Island. They were already nearing the island, and they saw that Tenzin and his children were waiting for them, however, Korra wasn't there with them.

The three of them exited the boat and they were welcomed by Tenzin and the kids.

"We're thankful for allowing us to stay here, Tenzin sir," Mako said as he shook the airbender's hand.

"Don't mention it."

"Where is Korra," Bolin asked as he carried down his personal bag.

"She stayed up quite late from excessive training with Ms. Be Fong, so she is still asleep," Jinora answered right before she saw her brother and sister running after Pabbo.

Tenzin showed the three young adults around the island, and told them the set rules that he expects for them to follow, and it wasn't soon until they ran into Korra who seemed to have barely awoken.

"Hey guys," Korra welcomed her friends.

"Hey Korra, thanks for inviting us here to stay," Asami answered.

"How are you guys doing?"

"Well, I'm feeling a bit a better, considering my father is a part of a terrorist organization."

"I'm sorry about your father."

"Don't be."

As they were still talking, Pemma came into the room, "Tenzin, sweety, the Council has called for a press conference."

"Right now."

"They said it is concerning the Batman."

Tenzin knew that this was a serious issue, and he knew Korra had to be there as well."

"Are you up to this meeting, Korra?"

"Yeah. Let's see what they want to know."

An hour later, in front of Republic Capital…

Reporters and photographers were in front of the High Council, Korra, and Chief Be Fong. They were all chattering away with different questions and comments about the issues at hand. Tenzin was the one who managed to calm down the crowd so that they could answer the questions.

"Please, settle down," Tenzin said.

"Councilman Tenzin, are the reports confirmed, is the vigilante from Oth-Yen here in Republic City?"

Tenzin needed to pause for a moment, because he knew that this sort of news was a great issue.

"It is confirmed through police reports… the Batman is here."

The reporters then started to yell out in with more comments. Lan and Clar were also there, and they were the few reporters that were not yelling out.

"These reporters need to keep their composure," Lan commented to Clar, while Clar was only thinking about the situation at hand.

'The Batman has been known to have a reputation in fighting crime through fear. That fear in the embodiment of a bat human that makes him look like an oni demon. He doesn't know that the criminals are not the only ones that fear him, but the people also,' Clar thought to himself. He noticed that the Council were just about to talk again.

"Please, everyone, calm down. We are puting all time and resources into capturing every known public enemy," Tarrlock intervened, but chaos was still beginning to stir.

"Capturing them? Things were bad enough when the triads starting killing each other," a normal civilian yelled out over the reporters.

"The Republic citizens are also being targeted by racist terrorists," another civilian commented.

"Not to mention, they are armed with weapons of mass destruction, and a monster that once terrorized the world."

"What are you people even doing about it?! The police, Councilman Tarrlock's task force, and the Avatar cannot even keep it under control without the help of dangerous vigilantes!"

"Order! Order," Tarrlock yelled out for the crowd to calm down.

"This city is facing an uncommon threat, so desperate times call for desperate measures," Tarrlock spoke. As Tarrlock was about to speak, Korra noticed Tenzin had a face of disappointment for what was about to be announced.

"Which is why, the High Council has decided, through vote, that Republic City is under military/police state protection," Tarrlock said.

Clar and Lan both gasped at the decision, and everybody else was shocked at the new decision.

"This operation will be under the command of the United Forces' Four-Star General Sung Loin," Tarrlock said as introduced a late middle-aged man in a red military uniform with the emblems and medals to prove his rank as general.

Lan seemed to be bit uneasy seeing the general coming up on to the podium, as if she knew him personally.

"Thank you, Councilman Tarrlock. As of now, citizens of Republic City, there will be martial law placed into effect. If any civilians show any activity that goes against these laws, will be considered a threat and possible member of each terrorist organization," the general announced his plans of actions.

As this speech address was being announced, there was figure standing under the shadows on top of a building that showed visual view of the speech. He didn't seem happy one bit.

"Damn idiots," the figure commented with a voice that could instill a trace of fear into anyone. After saying his comment, the figure took off without any trace that he was even there.

Hours later, on Air Temple Island…

Korra was setting on a ledge in Air Temple Island, where she could see Rebulic City. She was feeling a bit upset due to the decision of martial law going into effect.

'What am I going to do? This is nothing what I had in mind in protecting the city, this is wrong,' Korra thought. Suddenly, an idea came up into head. 'I need to call Clar. Right after I fix myself up.'

In Clar's apartment…

Clar was looking at his Guardian costume. The suit a blue jacket, blue jean like pants, black boots, and then it was made up with the red cape/hood he wore. He decided that his suit may be a bit instilling with fear, and that was something that he didn't want.

'I have everything here. I just need something that will show the people that I mean no harm. The Batman is practically a symbol of fear. Wait a second that is it. A symbol,' Clar concluded.

He looked to the back of his cape that had the symbol; the diamond shape with the serpent shape in it.

"Yeah. This could work," Clar said, right before he got to work on revising his suit.

Back on Air Temple Island…

Korra was in her room, putting on the Wonder Woman armor, and she was just about to put her regular attire over the armor.

"Now it is off to see Clar," Korra said, but she was disturbed by a knock on the door. She quickly put on her parka. "Come in."

Mako, Asami, and Bolin entered Korra's room.

"Hey, Korra. How is it going after hearing the news about the martial law," Asami asked.

"I guess you can say I'm doing a bit well. Even though I do feel like I'm failing the city," Korra said.

"Don't say that. You're doing everything you can to save Republic City. Aang also had difficulties as the Avatar, when he started off when facing the Fire Nation," Mako said with encouragement.

"Yeah. Not to mention, he wasn't alone. He had his friends to help him, and we are here to help you in any way Korra. The new Team Avatar… Or a… Justice Society," Bolin said with enthusiasm.

"We want to help you out in any way," Asami said.

Korra seemed a bit surprised yet thrilled that her friends were volunteering themselves to join her in saving Republic City. However, she was worried about their well-being and safety.

"Are you all sure about this," Korra asked.

"We will follow you to the Spirit World's netherealm," Mako answered.

Korra knew that she could count on her friends, so she agreed.

"Alright, let's do it," Korra answered as she laced her hand outward for the others to put their hands in as well as a team.

Meanwhile…

Amon and his main men were meeting with Manhiem and his men to discuss any issues at hand. However, one of Manhiem's men wasn't in the meeting.

"Where is Lee," Amon asked.

Manhiem answered, "He said he cannot make it. He has other matters to attend to."

"Pfft. Not surprised," Hiroshi responded.

"I say we start without him. Things are becoming more difficult now," Amon said.

"You don't say. We got the Batman here, and he busted your Lieutenant. Now we have the United Forces occupying the city," Manhiem commented.

"There is no way we can afford to take Republic City through a straight on attack as planned. Not with the United Forces here," Hiroshi said.

"Intergang has got a lot of weapons and manpower, but I read on General Loin, he is a mastermind," Manhiem stated.

"We can still win this," Amon said.

"How?"

"Bio-chemical warfare."

"What?"

"Allow me to introduce to you," Amon paused as he gestured for one of his henchmen to open a door for a skinny looking man in a dirty tattered lab coat. "Dr. Jensun Crane."

"Good evening, gentlemen," Dr. Crane introduced himself with a bow.

"Crane? Wait a second, I know who you are!" Manhiem pointed out.

"It seems my reputation has been quite a success. The leader of Intergang recognizes my second identity."

"Yeah, and your reputation is just missed up in my books."

"Settle down. Dr. Crane has developed a bio-chemical agent that may give us the edge over the majority of our enemies," Amon said.

"Shall I show you a live demonstration," Crane asked with a smile of wickedness. The men in the room, besides Amon, looked to each other and nodded.

"Excellent."

Meanwhile…

Korra and her newly formed, Team Avatar, were preparing themselves to face Republic City's threats. She had no need in coming up with a cover up, since she was already recognized as the Avatar, which gives her jurisdiction to do certain things.

"Hey Korra, should I go with the trench coat, or no trench coat," Bolin asked as he had on a brown trench coat.

"Maybe you should ask that certain lady friend of yours for her opinion," Korra responded.

"Hehehe. Yeah," Bolin answered as he had a trace of red on his face.

'How they would react if they find out she isn't really my girlfriend,' Bolin thought.

Flashback…

Bolin was walking by Republic City, and he was coming back from his late job since the Fire Ferrets were in a tight money trouble. Right now, Mako was with his new girlfriend, Asami, and Korra was off training in Air Temple Island.

His boss was nice enough to let him off the night early, since he was a Fire Ferret Fan, so Bolin had a lot free time tonight. The earthbender was looking around the street he was in to see what it he could do was.

'Hmm. Go to a bar/dinar to pick out any girl, or…' Bolin was compromising in his head. Then Bolin saw an outlet that had a sign on top that said, "Psychic Reading," "Past, Present, Future," "Tarot Reading."

'Or, test my luck and see my future,' Bolin thought of his conclusion.

Bolin walked into the outlet, and looked to see a bell on a counter. He pressed on it to ring it to call the person in charge. It was only a few seconds until a dark haired young woman appeared, wearing a violet dress, which took Bolin's will to keep him from staring at certain areas.

"Are you open?"

"I'm always open. I can sense you have some questions."

"Yep. Is my team going to make it into the tournament?"

"Questions later. Just come over this way," the woman pointed toward a table with two chairs underneath. Bolin pulled out a chair, and sat down.

"So is there going to be palm reading, or that clear globe thingy," Bolin asked with more curiosum

"Lend me your hand," the woman said.

Bolin complied, and as the woman made hand contact, her eyes widened a bit while one of her eyebrows raised in confusion.

"Wait, what does the eye widening mean?"

"Shh," the woman brought out a dick of tarot cards. She shuffled them and laid them out in a different pattern. She placed her hand above each of them as if she were guessing which one to pick, or which one was calling to her.

She picked up one card, and she placed into an angle for her to see while Bolin couldn't see anything.

"What is it? What does the card say," Bolin asked with a desperate tone. "Am I going die? Is my brother going to die? Please don't let it be death!"

"Calm yourself. No one is going to die. At least not sudden."

"Whew."

"Excuse me for a moment," she said as she left to go check something. She walked into a secret compartment in her back room, and the woman carried up a box covered in dust. Inside the box, it revealed to be something wrapped in a golden cloth. Underneath the cloth, there was a golden source of light that was trying to get passed the cloth, and there seemed to be a voice coming from it.

"This is uncommon. 'He' would never glow like this. Unless, that boy really is meant to be…" the young woman commented. She looked back to the direction to where Bolin was waiting. "Katara did say to keep it safe until it started calling out."

With that, she closed the box and placed it back into the secret compartment. She walked out to where Bolin was still waiting anxiously.

"So what, does it mean," Bolin asked.

"It's a little complicated. I need for you to come over here each week on a Monday each night."

"But err…"

"Do you want to know, or not."

"Yes," Bolin answered with an enthusiastic voice.

"Good. You'll meet me every Monday night. Understood?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Good. We are done here," the woman said, and Bolin was about to pull out his wallet to pay. "No need to pay. On the house."

"Thanks. Bye," Bolin was then off on his way. The young woman watched him leave, and then looked at the card she looked at.

In the card, there was a man, in a golden yellow cloak and blue clothing. Then one thing that stood out the most was the helmet that the man was wearing; a golden shinning helmet with only two slits for the eyes to look out through and an arc spine on the top. The man had his two hands outwards as there was a form of energy around his hands. On the bottom of the card, there was a title that said, "The Sorcerer."

"Bolin! Let's get going," Mako called out to Bolin as he was just daydreaming.

"Sorry. Going right now," Bolin said as he ran towards his friends.

Meanwhile...

Green Arrow and Black Lightning were on a trail in pin-pointing a location of Equalists and Intergang.

"Don't see what was so important for the Guardian bail on us," Black Lightning said.

"Doesn't matter. We need to get back on track," Green Arrow said, as he opened a door to a warehouse.

He and Black Lightning quickly made their way in, but to their surprise, the warehouse was empty.

"Wrong place," Black Lightning asked, while the archer kept looking around.

'Something isn't right. Its too quite,' Oli thought. Then he heard a click.

"Down!"

A bang went off from a black powdered harpoon-gun, but the heroes managed to get into cover.

"Where did that come from?!"

Green Arrow looked at the harpoon that hit the ground. He saw the insignia on it, "Deadshot."

"Stay here. I'll handle this," Green Arrow said as he ran into more cover on his path towards the shooter known as Deadshot.

As Green Arrow ran to his target, Black Lightning was mit with Equalist henchmen and the Persuader.

The Equalist chi-blockers moved in first to apprehend the lightningbender, but, luckily, Black Lightning managed to keep them away from him with his lightning. However, the Persuader, thanks to his armor being insulated from any such attack, shrugged off the lightning shocks. He swung his axe at Black Lightning, and Lightning had a second to react by dodging it.

'This is going to be tougher than I thought,' Black Lightning said to himself.

Meanwhile, Green Arrow was chasing Deadshot, and each of them were exchanging fire towards each other. As the chase progressed, they were making it up to the roof of the warehouse.

"You know something, you screwed up my track record of never missing a shot," Deadshot yelled out as he was under cover and fired with his wrist harpoon-gun.

"Sorry to dissapoint you," Green Arrow yelled back, as he moved in and got close enough to close the distance between him and Deadshot.

With the distance close, Green Arrow was capable of taking on Deadshot in a close up fight. Deadshot may have a great shot, but he uses that to make up for his less talented fighting skills compared to someone like Green Arrow. It wasn't long until Deadshot was finally down for the count.

"You want to know something. You have been a good pin cushion," Green Arrow commented.

"Ha. Don't get too full of yourself," Deadshot spat at Green Arrow. From that comment, Green Arrow knew that something was coming up, and he quickly turned around and dodged a shot from a harpoon-gun. He fired back, but his target was gone.

The archer still had his arrow drawn to his bow, and was ready to fire at any possible threat. However, the hostile came out from behind the air condition unit that was behind him, and was just about to slash at the emerald archer. Oli was just able to duck and defltect the blade with the blade attached to his bow.

This new foe was something else. He was fast, calculated, cooridinated, strong, and smart. Green Arrow had the sword blocked, but this assasin kicked him in the belly so fast that there was no way for him to counter it.

Oli was on the ground, and he was about to grab another one of his arrows from his quiver, but he noticed that they were all cut from the sword during the fight.

"Damn."

"Let me ask you something; do you prefer an iron sword or a lead piercer," the assasin said. Green Arrow was finally able to get a good look at this new foe; he had on a mask that was black on the right and yellow with a white eye spot on the left. He was armed to the teeth with weapons from firearms to blades and explosives.

"I guess it is up to me," the assasin said, as he was about to fire his harpoon-gun at the archer.

As an act of fate, something hit the gun and disarmed the assasin. The assasin looked to his side to see a dark shadow figure walking out from the shadows to reveal himself.

"Batman."

"Deathstroke."

Meanwhile...

"Remind me why we are going to pick up Clar," Mako asked.

"He can be very helpful. He provided a lot a help when I first came to the city," Korra said as she was looking out the car they were driving. "Is there a problem?"

"No," Mako knew not to get into anymore trouble concerning Korra and Clar's relaionship.

Asami was already given the location to where they were set to pick up Clar, and they were already nearing it.

Clar was setting on a bench waiting for Korra and her friends to pick him up. He had already fixed his Guardian costume, and he loved the end results.

'They might as well call me something else besides the Guardian when they see this symbol. Something... super,' Clar thought.

Then, Clar heard a man chantting out merchandise that he was trying to sell from the shop that was near by to where he was sitting.

"Come on, come all. Buy yourself some fine jewels from all around the world. Buy them to bling yourself, or for a certain sweetheart. Want to prove your true strength of your bond with that sweetheart, answer are these jewels," the man said.

The man's chanting really caught Clar's attention, due to the man's loud natural voice.

'Hmm. Might as well help out the guy. Maybe I can find something for Korra,' Clar thought to himself.

He got up to see the different choices of jewels. Obviously, there were a lot of choices that were above his budget.

"Find anything that catches your eyes," the saleswoman of the shop asked.

"Do you have anything that is for the budget for a reporter," Clar responded.

"Oh, well you can't say they are legit, but we have some very nice assortments," the saleswoman said as she showed him other choices.

"Tell you what, for someone like you, you may already have sweetheart."

"Err, she is... just a friend."

"Hmm. Well we can give you something that is out of this world," she said as she brought out a necklace with freen rocks attached to it. That was when Clar started to feel weak again.

'Meteor rocks. Need to get rid of them,' Clar thought as he came up with a solution. "I'm not sure green is her color."

"Thats fine. We have one of the same price, but maybe this color may suit her," the saleswoman brought out another necklace similar to the previous one, only this one was attached with red.

'Not feeling anything. I think a bit of red may work with Korra's taste with blue.'

"May I see it?"

The woman handed the necklace to the Clar, and when Clar touched the red stone he felt the urge to grasp on to it. His eye pupils flashed red for a moment, but the woman didn't notice.

"I like it. You wouldn't happen to have a ring with the same stone?"

"Oh sure. We also have a deal going on now for these types of jewelery."

"I'll take it too?"

It wasn't long until Clar finally purchased the jewelry, and he placed the ring on.

'I feel good.'

Then Clar heard a car pull up to where he was supposed to be picked up. He saw Korra the one to exit the car to get him.

"Where have you been," Korra asked with enthusiasm.

"Oh I just thought that maybe I can give a certain young lady something to lighten up her appeareance," Clar answered as he brought out the necklace for Korra.

"Oh wow. You didn't have to," Korra commented as she looked at the necklace.

"Mhee. I wanted to."

"Thank you."

"Anything for you."

Korra noticed a stange tone coming from Clar when he said that sentance, but she shrugged it off.

"Lets get going," Korra said.

"Ladys first," Clar suggested, and Korra was the first to get going to the car. Suddenly, she felt a smack to her behind.

"Yaahh!"

She looked behind to see Clar with a mischivious smile.

"Sorry about that. There was a spider. It's gone now," Clar explained with a cool voice.

"Yeeaah. Now hard feelings," Korra responded. 'What is wrong with Clar?!"
