HockyfistDJGOD- knew you would enjoy it. And I appreciate your admiration for this story. Thank you.

Ashbringer36- Yep, Metallo will definitely be a problem.

AVP5- You are correct. Very soon to the end.

Batmanvspredator- keep up the reading. I hope you enjoy it.

Clar was slowly gaining back his consciousness, and he felt himself being pulled on the ground and someone pulling him by his cape. He leaned his head upward to see his assailant, Metallo, pulling him through a tunnel way.

"I know you're awake, little runt. And don't…," before Metallo could finish speaking, Superman pulled Metallo's arm, which was grasping on to Superman's cape, and forced Metallo down to the ground.

This was Clar's opportunity to get back up, which he did take, but Metallo would also be getting back up. Now the two of them were facing each other.

"Hmm. I'll admit, you got me right there. But that isn't going to happen again, I assure you," Metallo commented, as he reached to his chest and opened the opening to the meteor rock powering his suit.

The meteor rock's effect was starting to take effect, and Clar was starting to feel weak just like the previous times he encountered the meteor rocks. So Superman moved back quick away from the vicinity of the meteor rock, and using his fiery vision to blast Metallo.

Due to the meteor rock's effects, Clar's heat vision wasn't strong enough to push Metallo away that far, but it was just enough to stun the metal clad man. Clar used that opportunity to turn and retreat from Metallo.

Metallo recovered from the blast from Clar's attack, and he turned around to see Superman was already gone. But Corin wasn't at all afraid that he had lost Superman just yet.

"Run and run, Superman. These tunnels are just the wilderness where the hunter hunts for the tiger-deer. And I am the hunter!" Metallo shouted out loud, just enough for Superman to hear him.

As Metallo was just about to run after Superman, Superman himself stopped for a breather as he was also a bit weak from his encounter with the meteor rock.

"Damn. I need to get out of here. But these tunnels don't even look to be a part of the catacombs of the city. There must be some kind of way out of here," Clar said to himself, as he looked around for an exit.

So Clar thought of a possible conclusion to his situation, he could use his supreme hearing senses as a sonar. Superman concentrated and tried listening for anything outside in the city, and he needed to lower the hearing range and find the exit out of the tunnels. However, as he was listening for the wind entering the tunnels, Metallo had a lock around Superman's neck from behind and knocked Superman from the back of his knee.

"Trapped like an elephant-rat. No one to find you," Corin gloated yet again.

"I am getting tired of you," Clar responded with annoyance, as he pulled Corin by the arm and Corin was flipped over to the ground.

With Metallo on the ground, Superman threw ground and pound elbow onto Metallo's face. "Arrk!" Metallo grunted in pain, as he retaliated by throwing a high up kick to knock Superman back. Both of the men of steel stood up and faced each other yet again.

Superman needed to close his distance against Metallo, before Metallo would open up his chest plate for the meteor rock. Clar charged and knocked Corin back, sending him skidding across the floor of the tunnel. Metallo looked back towards Superman, and he aimed his right arm extending towards Superman.

"Fire!" Corin shouted out loud, as green glowing piercers fired out from a compartment in his right arm.

It happened so fast, and Clar was knocked back to the ground by the impact of the piercer and the extremely painful sting of the meteor rock formed piercers.

"ARRGGGHH!" Clar screamed in pain, and was clutching on to the piercers that were stuck on to his chest and abdomen area.

Metallo got back up, and walked towards the suffering man, and Corin could clearly see that the Superman was in an agonizing neutralized state.

"Well, you gave a good resistance. I give you that, too. My boss will be most intrigued with you. The mighty warrior with amazing strength, taken down by stone," Corin commented, as he walked towards Superman, who was breathing in pain.

Corin, yet again, pulled on Superman's cape, not caring about the stasis of pain Superman was in.

Clar could feel the stinging pain of the meteor rock piercer starting to spread all across where the piercers were stabbed into. He was at an injured state, and he was in no position to get himself out. He needed help, and Clar found out who was the only person who could find him in a maze of unknown tunnels.

So Clar breathed in a breath of air, before he positioned his lips and whistled. It wasn't at the sound wave where Metallo would be able to hear, but it was high enough for something else to hear. Something else that has supreme hearing that can hear that whistle.

Elsewhere…

Kryo was laying on the porch of the Kenta's farm house. Still waiting for his best friend to return home. Sure, the kindly couple talked about the conversations they had with Clar in the telephone device, but Kryo still wanted his best friend back.

Suddenly, just right at that moment, he heard a loud pitched sound. Kryo raised his head up, and tilted his head in confusion on what could possibly be making that sound. The dog barked at the sound, still not understanding what it was.

But then, it remembered back when his best friend would whistle very loud to a pitch that he could only hear, but nobody else could. That sound, it was his best friend. Kryo recalled the lessons his best friend would whistle at that pitch in case he was in trouble. And right there, his best friend was in trouble.

Kryo whimpered, before he got up and sprinted towards the whistling sound. The dog almost running into Jeung, who was working on the new corral for the bull-horses.

"Wow! Kryo watch…," Jeung didn't finish, as he saw that the only trace of Kryo was the dust thrown up from the dog's fast feet. "Kryo? Where are you off to?"

Meanwhile…

Metallo had finally made it to the security door that would allow him entrance into Lee's bunker. Superman still unable to get himself to resist, due to his pierce-shot wound. Now he was only a thread away from becoming a lab rat that was ready to be experimented on.

Corin pressed on the keypad lock, and then moved to the combination lock which was taking a little longer, due to being unable to see well in the dim light of the tunnel.

"Spirits damn it…," Corin cursing due to the low visibility, as he, suddenly, heard something approaching him from behind.

Metallo turned around to see a vicious attack dog in midair to pounce him. Corin only had time to react by placing his arm up to block the jaws of the angry canine.

"Owrrgh!" Metallo yelled in pain, as the Kryo was gnawing into the armor.

Corin then managed to push the dog off of him, and he grasped his arm that was used as a chew toy for the dog. The metal showed the bite marks from the dog, and the dog didn't look at all to be hurt from biting the dense metal.

Before Metallo could react, Kryo's eyes, glowing with red, and smoke ejecting from his eyes, a fiery beam fired from Kroyo's eyes, keeping Metallo down.

Clar, trying to get himself up, saw that his dog had made it just in time. Now it was only a matter of time for Kryo to keep Metallo at bay. Then Clar found a pillar that was keeping some added weight of the ceiling from collapsing, and, fortunately, it was between Kryo and Metallo.

Clar took his best position of standing up, and limped his way to the pillar and he looked back to make sure that Kryo was in the safe zone from the debris. Once it was confirmed, Clar punched the pillar and after he did the ceiling began to give way and collapse. Superman dove to the side where his superdog was standing ready to help him.

Now with Metallo blocked off, Kryo looked towards his best friend. Kryo saw Clar trying to get himself up, or at least trying to turn himself around to lay on his back. Kryo walked to the side of his friend and sniffed the injury Clar had, but when he was about few inches close to the meteor rock piercers Kryo stepped away immediately and whimpered, rubbing his nose with his paw as if something was biting onto his snout.

"Kryo… you need. To help us both get out of here…," Clar tried speaking to his canine companion.

Kryo was obviously a lot smarter than the average canine creature in the Four Nations, and he understood what Clar wanted for him to do. The dog moved and bit on to Clar's back collar, and pulled on him and made their way out.

"Good dog… good dog," Clar muttered out.

Meanwhile…

Korra was walking back and forth in a pace, as she was slowly starting to get a bit worried of Clar's absence. She thought he would be back in a few minutes, but what was supposed to be a few minutes turned into an hour and then two hours. It would only be a matter of time until the others would be back from their patrol.

"Where is Superman?" a voice came out of nowhere, which spooked Korra into a fire-bending stance ready to attack. To her relief it was only the Batman.

"Geez! Do you always do that to people?" Korra said as she dropped her stance.

"Where is Superman?" Batman asked again, without even responding to Korra's question.

"Oh… he… needed to catch some air. Went outside on patrol," Korra answered, only a fraction of what happened.

"How long ago was this?"

"About two hours ago."

"That's not good. It's about half an hour from dusk. We need to locate him," Batman stated.

"Right. Naga may be able to help out," Korra suggested.

"Then get the polar-dog. We need to find him," Batman said, as he walked to the exit of the Batcave.

Soon, the Avatar and the Batman were out in the streets making their fast track searching for the Man of Steel. They had to move quick and quietly if they didn't want to be caught by the Equalist and Intergang patrols. This was the first time that Korra was standing along with the Batman alone, and this was probably a once in a lifetime.

"So, are you a bender?" Korra asked.

"No." Batman answered blandly.

"Do you… have any meta-human powers. Like… I don't know… turn invisible," Korra asked.

"No."

"Can you disappear and appear in another place?"

"No."

"Can you fly?"

"On an aircraft."

"Wait, you mean to tell me you're just some man in bat costume?" Korra asked in disbelief.

"You are trying bring up a subject in attempt to keep the silence from falling. But you are also trying to bring up a subject that won't be moving to a topic you don't want to talk about," Batman profiled Korra.

Korra stayed quiet, as she thought of what Batman said. He was right, she didn't want to bring up anything concerning her little intimate moment with Superman. But Korra just stayed silent and followed Naga's direction of finding Clar's scent.

After a few minutes, Naga then stopped and looked up, and ran forward into an ally way. Both Batman and Korra followed them, and they heard a dog growling. When they entered the ally way, the two heroes saw Naga standing a distance away from another white dog, but smaller compared to Naga, but it did not care, as it was viciously barking at Naga as another way of saying, back off.

"Naga, keep back," Korra ordered.

Naga did as Korra told her, but when Naga did, Korra then saw what the smaller dog was trying to protect. Superman bleeding and lying flat on the ground with green piercers impaled on his chest.

"CLAR!" Korra yelled, and ran to him, but the dog then stood in her way growling and its glowing red.

"Avatar, stay back," Batman told her, as he could obviously the dog was not normal.

"Kryo! It's okay. I am Clar's friend. I am Korra, and I am a friend," Korra, already assuming through logical reason that the dog was Clar's best friend.

Kryo recalled the name that his best friend would always call him by that name. This girl knew him and he knew his best friend. The sincerity in Korra's eyes, they looked honest to Kryo, and he concluded that she was friendly so he allowed for her to pass.

Korra quickly ran to Clar and kneeled right beside him. Clar was still breathing, but he looked just about to pass out.

"Clar! Please stay awake!" Korra begged, as she looked at the piercers that were pierced into his chest. She already reached for one of them until Batman stopped her.

"No. That's the only thing from stopping the bleeding. We are out in hostile open. We need to get back to the Batcave for proper surgery. What you can do, use your water-bending healing. Keep him alive," Batman said, as he looked to their backs to keep watch of any patrols that would spot them.

Korra carefully summoned up an earth plate that was steady enough to carry Clar, so Naga may be able to pull on it while Clar would be at a stable position.

"Avatar, let's go," Batman said, as he moved towards a direction ahead to check the coast was clear.

Meanwhile…

In Lee's bunker, Asami was setting by Mako's bed side, as Mako was in slumber, mumbling out words from a nightmare he was having due to his influence with the Fear toxin. That was all Asami could do, wait and hope for her boyfriend to get well from the toxin that brought all the person's fears into one whole glimpse. Bolin, who was in the room as well, had fallen asleep, waiting for his brother to get well.

Then, Lee walked in with a woman in a chauffeur uniform following behind him.

"Asami, it's time you and your friends need to get out of Republic City," Lee said to his sister.

"What? Now?" Asami asked.

"Yes. This is Mercy," Lee presented the woman that had followed him, "She will get you all out of here and into the military perimeters. You listen to her and do as she says, okay?"

"Wait, why are we leaving in such a hurry?" Asami wanted an answer as she noticed Lee's hectic procedure of telling her.

"The United Forces are planning an attack. With the Equalists and Intergang already at the defense, it is going to be tense, so for your safety, I need you to get to another safer location," Lee explained.

"What about you?" Asami asked.

"I have to stay. As chief scientific advisor, I have to help out however I can. With my bunker, it may act as a base of operation for the United Forces," Lee answered. "Now enough of the questions. If you want to help your boyfriend you're going to do as Mercy says."

Asami was silent, she could not think of anything else to say but do as her brother is telling her to do. Lee is showing protective concern for his sister and friends for the eminent battle that will rage in Republic City.

"Alright, Lee. Please be careful. Our family has already been shattered enough, we need to stick together," Asami said.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry," Lee said, as he placed his hands to Asami's shoulders. Then there was a door opening from down the hall. "Corin is back from hunting."

"Oh, I was already enjoying the silence from him trying to hit on me," Mercy commented with a scoffing tone of annoyance.

"Just get my sister and her friends out of here, Mercy," Lee reminded his chauffer, as he walked out of the room to meet Corin.

Lee walked down the hall to find Corin leaning back to the wall, trying to remove his armor that was protecting his arm. Lee noticed the battle scar and damage on the Metallo armor.

"I assume you went after the Superman, and failed?" Lee deduced with a hint of disappointment.

"It wasn't Superman alone, it was also his dog," Corin provided his defense.

"His dog?" Lee asked in a surprised tone.

"The mutt bit into my arm and nearly broke it," Corin commented.

"Fantastic," Lee rubbed his head, scrubbing the newly arriving headache of disappointment. "Get yourself to the medical room."

"Yes sir," Corin stood up straight, and walked down the hallway. However, he stopped and quickly turned back towards Lee and said, "Oh, Superman can get hurt by the meteor rocks."

"Really?" Lee asked.

Corin nodded, and said, "If the dog didn't surprise attack me, I would have had Superman here neutralized."

"Just get to the medical room," Lee ordered Corin.

'Get Corin fixed up, and repair the Metallo armor. By tomorrow, the United Forces will be making their attack. Metallo must be ready by then,' Lee thought to himself of what must be done.

Meanwhile…

"Get Superman onto the operating table!" Batman urgently provided Korra an instruction.

Korra carried Clar onto the operating table, as Batman was already grabbing the surgical equipment to tend to the gunshot wounded hero. Clar was barely conscious, but he could still see Korra's face of deep worry and fear.

"Hold on there, Clar. You're going to be fine," Korra said to Clar.

Batman already moved to the side of the operating table, ready for surgery.

"Korra, I need you to administer a water-bending technique to keep Superman sedated. None of the drugs I have may be able to affect him even at this state," Batman instructed.

Korra moved to the side where Clar's head was laying at, and she drew out a portion of water and soothed it around Clar's head, making him fall into slumber. Once Superman was unconscious, Batman then moved into the process in removing the piercers.

"Please, Clar, stay with me," Korra begged.

In another plain, Clar awoke to find himself in some sort of room created internally with crystal and ice. He got off his back and wondered where he was and how he got there. The last thing he remembered was Korra telling him to stay alive. And then everything went black.

He heard footsteps behind him, and Clar turned around to see a man that were a few years older than him. The man was wearing a midnight blue cloak, a black fedora hat, and black suit. Underneath his hat was white hair, and underneath the shadow of his hat, his eyes were glowing white.

"Hello, Kal-El. I have been expecting you," the man said.

"Who are you? Where am I? How do you know me by that name," Clar asked.

"I have walked the Earth thousands to millennia years. I have encountered other travelers such as yourself. You may call me the Phantom Stranger," the stranger identified himself.

"Wait… in the history books about the Justice Society, there was some records of a stranger helping them. Even during the events of the Hundred Year War. That was you?" Clar asked in wonder, meeting someone of great importance, but also great mystery.

"You are currently in the spiritual realm, connecting yourself with a link to the Avatar," the Phantom Stranger stated.

"The Avatar?" Clar repeated, as he looked at one of the crystals to show different images of past Avatars. All the way from Kyoshi, Aang, and Korra.

"Why?" Clar asked.

"A companion of mine saw a vision that Korra would be aided by someone from the stars against threats to humanity. Along with other heroes who would stand for truth and justice. Kal-El, you are that person. You are to be the leader of this new generation of heroes," the Phantom Stranger told Clar.

"Wait… you think I am going to be this… this leader," Clar asked in disbelief.

"That is why I am here, to tell you, this is not your time to rest in peace. You cannot die here. Listen to the words of the Avatar. Follow them back. Live," the Phantom Stranger said.

Clar did as the Stranger ordered. There was the presence of the Stranger that gave Clar the intent to trust him. The Phantom Stranger is a mystery legend among legends, and Clar decided to believe the words and advice that was told to him. So Clar concentrated and listened for Korra's voice, so that he may follow it back to life.

"I have a pulse," a voice was heard.

"So he's going to be okay," a female voice was heard.

"Korra," Clar said, as he followed her voice, for that was his key out of the place he was in.

The Phantom Stranger watched as the Kryptonian made his escape out to follow the voice, and when the Kryptonian was out of sight, the Stranger turned around to see a man in a green hooded cloak.

"Spectre," Phantom Stranger said.

"You informed the Kryptonian of my foresight. Of what was to come and to be. And you decided to take it upon yourself to deliver it to him," the Spectre stated, with a tone of annoyance.

"I did because you would have taken it upon yourself to inform them in detail of what was to be, thus giving them opportunity to alter events that will be catastrophic," the Phantom Stranger explained.

"It is my duty to stop and vanquish the evil and injustice that plaques all creation. Even the soul I am intact to has that same responsibility and ambition," the Spectre replied.

"You know we are not allowed to interfere to our own liking," the Phantom Stranger said, as he looked back, with a sign of remorse and regret. "Actions are taken that everyone regrets doing, but that is life, we suffer the consequences and keep moving forward so others may prosper better."

"Is that a reference to you committing the crime that led to your damnation," the Spectre asked.

"You were the executioner, but of course you were connected with another earlier soul," the Phantom Stranger said, as he looked back to the Spectre. "Let this new generation of heroes work out this conflict."

"Wait and see, Stranger, this may possibly turn out to be a victory, but there will be losses and the champions of Earth will still be out casted as lepers and menaces. Just like the wonders the soul, I am intact to, decided to be a part of," the Spectre stated as he crossed his arms across his chest. Revealing, in the pale skin of his arms, a solid blue-grey line going straight across his arm from shoulder to hand.

"Then we must observe. Besides, it also here where we may see the talisman of previous champions to be held by new successors," the Phantom Stranger said to the spirit.

Clar had run into a lighted tunnel, and he could hear the voices coming out from there, so he took a leap of faith and ran into the tunnel. As he entered, he then started to see visions of different people's lives. People that all had a connection, they were previous Avatars.

He could see Avatar Kyoshi taking her stand against the Earth King when there was a massive public revolution that was endangering the Earth King's power. Then there was Avatar Roku stopping the first attempt of invasion force that was about to attack the Earth Kingdom. But that wasn't the end, as there was still one last vision that would turn out to be the longest one.

In the Golden Era of history, during Republic City's booming time, there were metal-bending police officers that had set up a perimeter around a prison that looked to have had a massive riot inside. The situation looked to be under control, but there was still one problem, one prisoner had escaped.

It was the mother of metal-bending, which was there on the scene, Toph Be Fong, who was leading the investigation on finding out how and where the prisoner ran off to. Right now, she had walked into the warden's office to speak to him.

"Mister Warden, you mind telling me how the highest secured prison in the world, managed to lose control of a prison riot, and allow one prisoner to escape. And must I go further on who that prisoner is?" Toph asked the warden.

"Listen, even I am having a hard time finding out. The guards that were out on the court yard, they just… couldn't control their bodies. It's as if they were being…," the warden didn't finish, as someone else finished the sentence.

"Blood-bended," from the door, entered, Avatar Aang.

"Nice for you to join us, Twinkletoes," Toph commented.

"Toph, out of all the titles I carry, would you so kindly stop with that one," Aang asked with a tone of annoyance.

"Afraid not," Toph answered, only for Aang to grunt and decided to get back to the main topic.

"Blood-bending has been outlawed. There are practically nobody who knows that art of water-bending. But we know someone out of rumors," Aang stated.

"Yakoon," Toph answered, and Aang nodded silently. Then Toph smiled and said, "Want for me to go down the decent path in getting a warrant to arrest him, or do you want for me to contact some other community servants?"

"Considering who escaped, yes, I'll handle it from here," Aang said, after seeing that the warden was pardoned out to leave, he knew it was safe to talk. "You're more than welcome to join too."

"I thought you'd never asked. But I am going to need a lift to my place to pick up a few necessities," Toph crossed her arms. Aang nodded, as he then lifted up his cloak hanging out, as its shadow was a lot darker than what it was supposed to be.

Toph walked toward the hanging portion of the cape and entered the shadow, only for her to appear in her home, with Aang following behind her.

"A little off topic, but, how is Katara?" Toph asked, as she walked to the center of the room, and summoned out a metal panel off the floor.

"Recently, there have been small arguments concerning how I spend my hours during these days," Aang plainly stated.

"I have been noticing that. You really need to ease up a bit," Toph suggested, as she opened the metal panel to reveal the Wonder Woman armor and started to remove her issued metal-bending officer armor.

"I have no the concept of, easing up. If I had accepted this length of responsibility, of extracting judgment on the scum in this world, when I was thirteen years old, the Hundred Year War would have been over a lot more faster," Aang defended his reason.

"Just don't forget, you're still human. You need some rest. Katara cares about you," Toph explained, as she placed on her unbendable bracelets.

"Like her title of, doctor, caring for her patients," Aang quietly compared.

"And Aang, I heard about that incident concerning those pirates," Toph brought up.

"They were the main heads of the slave routes. They were animals. They had what was coming for them," Aang responded.

"Says the guy who says the life of a spider-fly caught in its own web is a precious life to take away. Hard to believe that same guy would go on ahead and hang those pirates after they had surrendered," Toph said.

"I was a child in the crossroads when made that statement. I have picked my path. Now enough with the questions, are you ready," Aang asked.

"I would, but considering you are here, and you're a married man, I have a little issue," Toph explained.

Aang silently left the room to wait for Toph to finish.

Soon, Toph, armed and ready in her Wonder Woman armor, and Avatar Aang were off to the location Yakoon was known to be. In a mansion that could be compared to a palace of royalty with a private army as the security for this organized mob leader.

The guards standing right outside the gate saw Avatar Aang walking up to them, and his face showed serious determination. The guards quickly got on stance to attack the Avatar.

"Hold it there!" they warned Aang, only for Aang to gesture his hands upward, as they were then engulfed in ice, from the water Aang summoned from the ground.

Aang, still walking at a pace, approached the gate, and he sensed that the metal on the gate was too pure to be bended, but that was still not enough to keep him out. The Avatar then released a quick jab of a powerful gust of wind to send the gate breaking out of its hinges and flying into the wall of the mansion.

The mob guards that were outside quickly made their way to stop Aang, only for them to be pushed back an unnatural source of wind sending them flying from Aang.

"YAKOON! COME OUT AND FACE JUDGEMENT!" Aang shouted with great fury.

Inside the mansion, Yakoon could see from the top floor of his home, and he saw the display of power from the Avatar.

"Boss, we need to get you out of here," a gangster henchman said.

"This is my home! He can't be doing this! This isn't the law!" Yakoon commented with fear, as he then decided to not even test his ability of blood-bending on the Avatar, not even sure if it may work considering the power that is inside the Avatar.

However, as they were about to exit the room, the door and a portion of the wall it was connected to was busted open, knocking out the few gangsters that were in front of it. The opening revealing Wonder Woman.

"Knock-knock," Toph said, as quickly launched her lasso to restrain three gangsters, including Yakoon.

The other gangsters were about to pounce on Wonder Woman, but then the window leading to the outside was broken inward, as Aang then revealing himself floating inside.

"Don't even bother resisting," Aang told them all. The gangsters accepted Aang's warning, as they then put their hands behind their heads and got on their knees.

Aang looked around and found Yakoon tied up in Toph's lasso.

"Yakoon," Aang seethed.

"We need information. Were you in charge of the riot in Belle Reeve?" Toph asked.

"Yes," Yakoon answered, due to the lasso forcing him to speak the truth. But after he had answered, he was lifted off the ground by Aang carrying him up by the throat, and the Avatar looked directly into the eyes of the mob leader.

"Where is he, Yakoon? Where is Vandel Savage?!" Aang demanded an answer.

"I do not know," Yakoon answered.

"Then prepare for your execution!" Aang said, as his remaining hand then lit with green flames.

"NO!" Yakoon begged.

"Hey, calm down. We can still use him, Aang. He must have some sort of contact information, or he must know what is in Savage's agenda," Toph stopped Aang.

"Then tell us what you know," Aang threatened Yakoon.

"He said that something about bringing Republic City down ruble. And then starting his empire from there," Yakoon said what he knew.

"How is he going to do that," Toph asked.

"He brought up how there was something in the beneath the Great Divide canyon. There was something that will give him the power," Yakoon answered.

Aang's eyes widened in fear of what Yakoon may be talking about. Nobody was supposed to know about what was hidden in that large canyon, but somehow Savage found out, and now he probably must have found it.

"I am going over there!" Aang stated, as green smoke then surrounded him, and he then vanished along with the smoke.

Aang appeared in the Great Divide, it was night at that time, and he found that the hidden artifact's hiding place had been purged.

"No," Aang whispered.

"Avatar Aang," a voice called to him.

Aang turned around, and he found the man he had been looking for, Vandel Savage, as he was standing on top of a pillar of stone, with a spear in his right hand.

"Or do you prefer your other title, Spirit of Vengeance," Savage asked.

"Savage!" Aang shouted, as unleashed a bolt of lightning at Savage, only for it to be easily deflected by the spear Savage was wielding.

"I knew that Yakoon would open his mouth in attempt to save himself. But that is what I wanted. I wanted for him to tell you where I would be, so may see that The Spear of Destiny is mine. And so shall the world," Savage gloated out loud, as he then pointed the spear towards Aang, and a large bolt of energy fired at him.

Aang was hit by the bolt, and was sent crashing back into the rock wall behind him. Savage then jumped down from the top of the pillar, and using the power of the Spear of Destiney to give him the ability of levitation.

"Are you tired, spirit? I remember our first encounter. You were upset that you were not allowed to vanquish me permanently, but that does not apply to me vanquishing you," Vandel said out loud, as he fired another round of energy from the spear where Aang was. "Hahahaha! The kingdom you grew from the remains of the Fire Nation colonies will be the first to go. Then, everyone will see the power I have, and they will have no choice but to submit. Take your time, spirit. I will be waiting for you on the top of the rubble of your precious city."

Vandel Savage then launched up into the air, using the spear's power to get him to Republic City.

In Republic City, Toph had already dropped Yakoon off at the police station for holding, while she went ahead to meet with her old friend, Sokka.

"What brings you here, Toph," Sokka asked.

"Savage knows where the Spear of Destiney is," Toph said.

"Oh my spirits!" Sokka commented.

"Aang has already went over there to stop him from…," Toph was interrupted by a large boom from outside. "Or he may have failed."

Sokka rushed to the window and saw soldiers in black uniform rushing into the city streets, and he then saw Savage riding in an open armored vehicle as he carried the spear.

"It's just us. We need to stop him," Sokka said, as he walked to a wall and opened a safe where a green lantern was.

"Way ahead of you. I'll meet you out there," Toph said, as she rushed outside.

Sokka placed his hand that was wearing the green ring he had on, and placed it to the lantern.

"Come on, Starheart," Sokka said as his weapon was recharging.

Outside, Savage watched has his own personal army was fighting in his name, and he could see the civilians running for cover. Sacrifices were to be made if victory was required, Savage has learned that lesson a long time ago.

"Vandel Savage!" Savage heard his name, as he looked up into the skyline, and saw Councilman Sokka in his hero attire, the Green Lantern.

"Green Lantern Sokka. Have you come to die?" Savage addressed.

"No, I am here to stop you," Sokka replied, as he fired a bolt of energy from his ring, only for it to be blocked by the spear.

"Jewelry. That is what you have. Whereas I have an actual weapon," Savage stated, as he pointed the spear, and fired at Sokka.

Sokka created a force field around him to protect himself from the blast, but the field could only take so much, as it started to shatter and send him crashing into a building. Savage leaped from his position, positioning the spear to impale Green Lantern with it, but Sokka managed to recover quickly and evade the incoming spear by rolling to the side.

As Savage was about to unleash another blast from the spear, a lasso was wrapped around his neck. Toph, using her lasso, was trying her best to restrain Savage and bring him back to the city floor.

"Come here!" Toph commanded, as she pulled Savage down with a crash.

However, Vandel easily aimed the Spear of Destiney and fired a bolt to knock her back and losing grip to the lasso. Savage then got the rope off of his neck, and looked to the air to see an incoming green construct of a boomerang headed towards him. He easily dodged it, and saw Sokka rushing at him with self-constructed armor on him. Savage blocked the construct club with the spear, and then easily whacked away Sokka with the butt of the spear.

"Did you really think that would protect you," Savage asked, only to see Sokka smirking.

From behind, the boomerang came flying back to knock Savage in the back of his head.

"Urk!" Savage grunted.

"Boomerangs still don't let me down," Sokka commented, but only for Savage to smash his boot onto Sokka's face, knocking him out.

"That won't stop me from killing you. I will slice your head off, and leave it on a pike for the lizard-crows to feed off of," Savage threatened Sokka.

"Not if I can help it!" Toph shouted, as she charged at Savage who was barely turning around to face her.

She connected a powerful right punch to Savage, sending him flying. Toph summoned up a pillar of earth in the path of Savage to stop him from flying any further, and she unleashed her Lasso and wrapped it around Savage. Toph then started to pull Savage around like a ragdoll, smashing him into different earth pillars she had summoned.

The lasso was unwrapped from Savage, but Savage was still sent flying crashing into another street. In that street, Yakoon was wondering aimlessly after he had taken the opportunity to escape the police station when Savage's troops attacked the station, attacking the prisoners along with the police.

"Savage! You have got to call your men off of me! You owe me!" Yakoon said to Savage.

"I owe you nothing, Yakoon. You got your payment, and now is time where my army cleanses the criminal scum of this world so they may not contaminate my world," Savage said, as he stood back up ready to get back to battle against the two wonders.

"But…," Yakoon didn't finish, as Wonder Woman charged at Savage.

This time, Savage timed it right and then stabbed his spear into Toph's side abdomen. There was shock and pain in Toph's face as the spear had impaled her.

"Fwuaaa!" Toph gasped in pain

"You are a genius in the earth-bending arts. Formidable in hand-to-hand combat, but predictable," Savage said to Toph as he shoved her to the side where she fell to the ground.

Toph was down on the floor, and she placed her hand to the stab wound to stop the bleeding, but Savage was right above her and he had the intent to kill her right there.

"Make peace with your gods," Savage said, as he raised the spear and was about to finish her off.

"Leave her, Savage," Aang's voice was heard.

Vandel Savage turned around and saw Aang standing in the middle of the street, and behind him were Savage's soldiers all knocked out and beaten.

"Aang. You arrived earlier than expected," Savage stated.

"That fault is on you. You didn't kill me," Aang responded, as he walked towards Savage.

"Yakoon, if you want to prove your worthiness to live in my world, may you use your gift and carry up the leverage that is laying on the ground," Savage politely asked.

Yakoon looked toward Toph, who was still trying to get herself up. Then Yakoon reached toward Toph, and then Toph started grunting in pain, as she was lifted up into the air as her own blood was being manipulated by the blood-bender.

"I suggest you stand down," Savage warned Aang, as he then pointed the spear to Toph's throat. "Listen to me, Aang, you fight for balance and order, through my rule that will be a reality with no resistance. You fight for justice and vengeance, no criminal shall escape the wrath of justice in my rule. You can stand with me, it you but submit and recognize me as your master, because if you don't, I really wonder how strong of grief you have if I execute your comrade."

"Oh, this is just low," Toph commented.

"Aang, kneel before your lord," Savage ordered.

Aang only glared at Savage with great fury, and green flames formed around him and his clothes started to change from his usual orange Air Nomad attire then turned pale grey. His cloak turned pale green and a hood formed above his head as the dark shadow of it concealed a part of his face. The Avatar's skin also turned grey as stone.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will now my name is the Lord when I. Lay! MY! VENGEANCE UPON YOU!" Aang's voice sounded as if he had another voice speaking along with him.

Yakoon watched in fear the transformation the Avatar went through. Out of all the wonders that consisted of the Justice Society, the Spectre, was the most feared and ruthless of them all. Considering the position he was in, holding up the Spectre's teammate as a hostage.

"Curse you, Savage, I am getting out of here!" Yakoon carefully placed Toph back on the floor, and then making his escape.

"It is hard to find loyal followers these days," Savage stated.

"Only cowards are those who call all others cowards. Only thieves are those who call all others thieves," the Spectre seethed.

"Aang, do me a favor and kick this immortal's ass," Toph called out, as she placed pressure on her wound.

Spectre rushed at Savage, while Savage used the power of the Spear of Destiney to block the incoming strike from the spirit using the Avatar as a host. Savage and the Spectre were at a power struggle against each other.

"You were once a part of that one almighty spirit. I am wielding a weapon that carries a portion of that spirit's power. Time to prove who is the better man, Aang?" Savage gloated.

"Silence will fall!" the Spectre yelled, as he pulled strength enough to throw Savage up into the air. Following a bolt of green energy at Savage, but Savage blocking the energy with the spear.

The Spectre launched up into the sky, as his hand gathered a large amount of water from the air and then fired ice pikes at Savage. The ice pikes only shattered on impact, and Savage fired another bolt at Spectre only for him to evade and fire.

It then turned to an aerial ace battle between the Avatar host to the Spirit of Vengeance and the Immortal wielding the Spear of Destiney. The Spectre fired blasts at Savage, but Savage blocking each blast with the Spear. Savage lunged at the Spectre with the spear ready to stab into its target, but the Spectre evaded to the side and then managed to get Savage from behind and got him on a headlock.

"Burn!" Spectre said, as his arms started to burn with fire and then started to burn Savage.

"ARRGH!" Savage yelled, as he then used the Spear's power to unleash a wave of energy to push him off him.

Savage then unleashed a great blast at the Spectre, sending him crashing into a tall building. The Spectre didn't have time to recover, as Savage rushed in close and impaled the spear into his chest.

"URRK!" the Spectre grunted in pain, as he found himself stuck in that spot.

"Die! Die at the hands of Vandel Savage! So I may find your next reincarnation, and I shall kill them as well!" Savage shouted, as he stood on top of the Spectre, putting more pressure onto the spear.

"You will be judged, Savage! Justice always wins!" the Spectre growled, as he had his hands on the spear to pull it off of him.

Savage only then placed more pressure on the spear, making the Spectre yell in agony. Suddenly, a blast hit Savage from the side, forcing him to draw out the spear from the Spectre. The immortal turned and scanned for which Justice Society hero has decided to come out and face him. He looked to see a physically fit man in red uniform with a lightning bolt on his chest, standing next to a female figure wearing a blue uniform with a golden cloak and helmet concealing all of her head.

"The Firelord and the Avatar's mate. Shazam and Doctor Fate," Savage addressed, before he fired a large beam from the spear.

"Fate, get behind me!" Zuko quickly stood in front of the helmet wearing sorceress to be her shield against the blast. Unfortunately, his faith in the gifted abilities he has were proven futile, as the blast only sent him flying.

Fate stared down at Savage, and energy started forming around her hands, preparing for an attack. Savage didn't have the intentions of waiting, so he fired another bolt at Katara. Luckily, Katara opened a small portal in front of her to intercept the blast. Another portal opened to the side of Savage, and out came the same blast he unleashed being used against him.

Savage was only stunned by the blast, as he was still standing ready to strike back. Then, a strong force passed by Fate, as it charged at Savage, revealing it to be Shazam tackling Savage.

"Katara, get to the Aang! Get him up! I'll hold off Savage!" Shazam yelled, as he threw a punch powered with mystical lightning.

Katara flew over to where the Spectre was laying injured, as he was already trying desperately to get back up and fight.

"Aang, stay down, let me help you heal," Fate said, as her hand started glowing blue and placed it to where the Spectre was stabbed.

"Hurry, the power Savage has can only be held back for so long. Only I have the power to rival that power and remove it from him," Aang hurried Katara.

Shazam still rained as much attacks on Savage, only for his last punch to be caught by Savage's hand in a tight grip. Savage then fired a blast to send Zuko crashing through a few buildings. Suddenly, Savage saw a great shadow appear on the ground that he was standing on, so he turned around to see what it was and to his answer, the Spectre was growing in size.

"Vengeance will be had!" the Spectre roared, as he punched Savage with his large fist, smashing the immortal. Savage was then picked up by the Spectre in one hand, while the other hand then pulled the Spear of Destiney away from Savage.

"NO! MY POWER!" Savage yelled as his weapon was taken away.

"It is not yours anymore," the Spectre seethed, as he then threw the Spear of Destiney to a faraway distance. "You will judged, Savage."

"Hehehe. With what sentence? You cannot kill me, as much as the spirit wants to. But I can still kill you, Aang. As I did with previous lives of yours. I will keep walking on this earth, and I will always wage war upon you and your future lives. And when I am tired of you, I will kill you when at your strongest, and you stay dead permanently," Savage gloated, before the Spectre then knocked him unconscious.

The Spectre returned back into his regular size, as he still had a grip on Savage. Aang turned around and saw his Justice Society comrades gathering around him. Toph had already been healed by Fate, and Sokka was helping Zuko stand from the powerful force he took.

"What are you going to do with him?" Fate asked, as she removed her helmet to reveal her face.

"Keep him somewhere where he may not harm anyone," the Spectre said, as he then transformed back into the physical appearance of Aang.

"What about the Spear of Destiney?" Shazam asked.

"Search for it and attain it. Nobody has the right to wield such a corrupted tainted relic," Sokka answered.

"And please tell me, Aang, that you will clean up the mess you and Savage made. The people are already pissed off as it is with the damage we do," Toph said, as she could feel through her seismic senses all the collateral damage that was done from the battle between the Spectre and Savage.

Aang waved his hand about in the air, and all damage done from the battle was prepared, save for the people that had died from Savage's attack.

"I'll handle the press," Toph said, as she ran off to the Capital.

"There is some issues I need to deal with that are back in the Fire Nation. I must go," Shazam said, before he launched up into the air with thunder roaring.

Sokka noticed that it was only her, Katara, and Aang that were there. Being the brother to Katara, Sokka was already aware of the tension between his sister and brother-n-law.

"Well… I am going… to… do another activity… I mean, help out Toph. I mean, I am the councilman," Sokka said, as he then decided to make his leave.

Katara was still holding the golden helmet in one arm, as she stared at Aang, who was already turning around to leave.

"Where are you going?" Katara asked with a tone of anger.

"To imprison Savage," Aang answered.

"Then I am going with you," Katara said.

"That is not necessary," Aang replied.

"It doesn't matter. I am going, and once you are done, we have some matters we need to talk about," Katara stated.

"I really don't have time for this nonsense, Katara," Aang said, as he turned around to face his wife.

"I know Aang wouldn't be saying that. I don't want talk to the Spectre. I want to talk to my husband," Katara nearly growled. It became a stare down between the Spirit of Vengeance and The Sorceress Supreme.

The vision ended, as Clar was slowly opening his eyes, as his body had still not recovered fully from the poisoning of the meteor rock piercer. At his bedside, he was Korra, holding onto his hand, and he could feel the firm and tight grip she had on his hand as if she needed to hold onto him to save his own life. Korra's head was looking down, as if she were praying.

"Korra," Clar spoke.

Korra quickly looked up and saw her best friend had finally regained consciousness. Traces of tears were in her face, but her eyes said the opposite as they were filled with joy of seeing Clar back awake.

"Clar!" Korra nearly shouted, as she sprang towards Clar and held onto him.

"Korra, I am okay now. Don't worry," Clar tried to comfort her, but in return, he received a punch to the shoulder.

"How could you say that?! You had me scarred half to death from almost losing you! And you being unconscious for so long, I was worried sick!" Korra scowled at Clar.

"So long? Korra, how long have I been out," Clar asked.

"Twelve hours! Twelve hours you kept me up scarred!" Korra answered, but she then started to punch Clar's shoulder repeatedly.

"Hey! Ow! Korra! Ow! Wait! Stop! Ow!" Clar tried telling Korra, which she did, but there were hot tears starting come out from her eyes.

"You almost died. We found you, laying in that alley, bleeding. You almost died," Korra vented out. Her voice starting to crack, holding back sobs, out of fear of losing beloved friend like Clar.

Clar was silent as he saw how Korra was feeling right then, and he placed his arms around her to comfort her.

"It's okay. I am fine. Thanks to you," Clar said.

"Don't forget to thank Batman, Naga, and your dog critter," Korra reminded Clar.

"Kryo. Where is he?" Clar asked, and Korra gestured down toward the floor right next the bed. Kryo was fast asleep and was not moving from leaving his best friend's side.

"He was quite protective over you," Korra stated, as she still held onto Clar's hand.

"Korra, when I was unconscious…," Clar was about to tell her what he witnessed, until he heard footsteps sounding closer. Revealing it to be Batman, who looked to have a concerned face on his face.

"Glad to see our big gun is conscious. We are going to need you," Batman said.

"Good to be back. What's happened when I was out," Clar asked.

"A lot. And it looks like the United Forces are already preparing to attack very soon," Batman said, as he opened a metal cabinet, taking out Clar's Superman uniform. "You're going to need this."

Superman and Metallo have had their first battle, but the Man of Steel almost got killed in action. By the efforts of Clar's canine friend, Korra and her own canine companion, along with Batman, they all saved Superman. It seems there is a much greater destiny planned for Clar, and its level of importance reaches up to beings such as this Phantom Stranger and the Spectre.
