Darkstorm smiled triumphantly as the last internal circuit was saudered and repaired. It was several weeks after her delivery but she knew she could not rest now. She had a promise to keep and if she deserved happiness, so did Starlight.

"Praise God, I think we've done it." She turned to Megatron softly. "Are you ready?"

Megatron slowly nodded, trying to ignore the, dare he say it, fear clenching his spark. "I am."

Ratchet disengaged the induced stasis after her lenses were replaced. It took Starlight a few moments to online, but this time, her optics onlined with her. The crystal blue orbs scanned the medical bay and widened with child-like awe. Her sonar equipment only showed her basic shapes and textures but this... this was beautiful.

Her optics filled with coolant. Praise God indeed.

She could truly see them all! The handsome and kind crimson medic, Knock Out. The senior grounder medic that was grumpy only to hide the soft spark that lay underneath, Ratchet. And, Darkstorm, the stunning purple and black Seeker that had a spark of gold.

And oh, it was him! It was truly him!

Her tears sprang forth as she beheld him. He still held his strong, even noble, bearing. Dark gray metal battle armor ended in swooping spikes on his shoulder plating and the bottom of his helm. His optics were red and piercing, fierce if described by another, but Starlight could only see happiness in them.

She shakily reached out a servo and cupped Megatron's facial plating, tracing the various scars on it. She could see him truly now, and she believed him to be beautiful, sharp denta, fierce bearing, Decepticon insignia, and all.

"M-Megatron?" she whispered as if afraid that she was wrong.

Megatron placed a servo over hers tenderly, his own optics threatening to spill coolant as he saw only love in her gaze. "The very same."

Starlight shakily grinned before she wrapped her arms around his neck, holding onto him tightly as if fearing that she would lose him. "Oh, my dear Megatron, praise God! I can see! I can truly see!"

"Praise God indeed," Megatron laughed deeply, returning the embrace just as strongly.

And, out of sheer happiness at her newfound sight, Starlight did something no one has attempted to do before. She kissed the former leader of the Decepticons. Megatron froze in sheer shock as the chaste kiss ended and she embraced him once more.

"Thank you," she smiled. "For everything."

Megatron could not force himself to give a response. He simply nodded and everyone stood there in shock as the former warlord's cooling fans activated.

Starlight jumped up to embrace the others. "Thank you, my friends! Thank you so very much!"

As the others embraced and celebrated the femme's new found sight, Megatron still stood there, optics rapidly blinking as his processor fought to decipher what had happened.

What was this femme doing to him?

"You will be sure to comm me if anything occurs, won't you?" Darkstorm asked, concerned for the femme.

After her optics were repaired, she immediately deemed it best to return with Megatron into exile. She promised to visit as often as she could but she stated that her place was by his side.

"I most certainly will," Starlight smiled before embracing the femme once more. "Thank you for everything, my friend."

"It was the least I could do," she grinned before releasing her. Her gaze softened as Megatron reluctantly stepped forward.

He opened his mouth before closing it, optics filling with an unknown emotion. He then tried again, "Thank you," he managed to whisper.

"Anything for a friend," she smiled softly. "May God bless you both."

Megatron slowly matched her expression. "And you, as well."
